This is a nice site to get ideas and the photography is impressive. However their search bar doesn't work very well. You end up with very general results. Also the purchasing/check out is buggy. Too complicated. I tried to buy and item and couldn't check out. Months later it is still in the shopping cart. Also annoying is that I have to sign into my account when clicking out of an email they sent. Should go right through. Could be excellent if they got the backend right.

Ordered an item from Houzz. When I saw the estimated delivery date, I should have cancelled the order. It was going to be a month or more. I contacted Houzz by email and they responded they were looking into it. Much later they owned up that it was ordered from a third party and blamed them for the delay. About a week later, I got a call from a representative telling me they cancelled the order because the vendor would not COMMUNICATE with them. They tried to placate me with a 10% discount on a future order. Really, do they think I'm stupid enough to go for two? Still waiting for my credit.

I am a roofing contractor based in Minneapolis. Start using houzz.com to promote my work. Houzz.com grows very fast and they claim to have many users. We had hundreds happy customers from Angie's list who have gave us hundreds of positive reviews. When we started to ask people to rate us at houzz.com people nicely agreed, but we started to have many e-mails saying that after they fill out review form, next option will be "You must Have houzz account to save your review". We had e-mail after e-mail coming in from customers, who were saying they wrote review but didn't like to be forced to sign up for their service.
I spent few hours with my account supervisor at Houzz and she was trying to convince me that houzz.com is not forcing anyone, but simply getting their e-mails to confirm that reviews are real.
Well, I have forwarded every e-mail from my customer (they included their reviews but explain why they don't want to post it) and I got answer: there is nothing we can do about it, but we don't force people to sign up... after 2 weeks from my complaint and several new complaints from my customers outside of houzz.com I decided to check it myself, and sure enough: you cannot write a review without signing up for houzz.com.
After reading all bad reviews here, unless I hear from houzz.com I will park my advertising money elsewhere. So far their account managers weren't listening to concerns of businesses or potential users, and I can see it can be booming now, but fading very quickly with policies they have in place unless they start listening to real problems their potential users and current providers...

I have purchased an item on www.houzz.com successfully and the buy was confirmed. Day after however my buy was canceled. I followed the instruction to contact their customer support and my request was answered with automatic reply that I would be contacted back within 24hours that was 5 days ago and I have left another message since. I find extremely rude cancel order without giving a reason and promise to a customer to contact them and not follow up on it. Unacceptable. I highly encourage anyone NOT TO SHOP with houzz as they are doggy and tell lies. My money hasn't been returned yet either. Criminals!

We hired Cabinets Your Way for our kitchen renovation, based on the great reviews. We wrote a check for over $13,000 for cabinets that were supposed to arrive in two weeks. That was August 30th. No cabinets. No refund. They stole our money! I submitted this information to Houzz since the bad reviews stared popping up on yelp and BBB. Apparently Houzz does not care, and is happy to keep the review 5 stars so more Houstonians can get ripped off. * is the owner and has been scamming Houstonians for years. His cabinetry company was called Houston Cabinetry before and changed the name to Cabinets Your away when all the bad reviews started to pop up. Houzz could care a less for honest reviews and people getting ripped off. Thanks a lot Houzz!

As an interior designer, I am very disappointed with this company. They don't allow you to take your OWN work down and discourage watermarking. Hey, that's my property. In addition, they were hounding me all hours of the day and night until I begged them to stop. They are not here for the design community. They are feeding off of it. Shame on you HOUZZ!

Do not order anything from this company. I specifically ordered a lamp from them because their return policy sounded so easy. It turns out, they just order it from another company, and returning something is a nightmare. You have to contact HOUZZ to get instructions of how and where to return the item. However, they have no phone number on their website, and do not respond to emails. I finally called my credit card company to file a complaint, and they gave me a phone number for HOUZZ. After days of calling and leaving messages, I finally got a live person. When I told him there was no phone number on their website, he said "We don't'? I thought we did." He gave me the address of the company HOUZZ ordered the lamp from, and said I would not get my money back until I sent HOUZZ the tracking number and proved to them that the company had received the lamp. Even after the company received the lamp, it took phone calls and emails from me to finally get my money back. It cost me a lot of money to ship it, insure it, get a tracking number, and pay a restocking fee. Apparently, their return policy is a lie, and they truly do not want to give you your money back. This company is not prepared to be an online seller.

I found Houzz to be quite innovative and they certainly have many interesting pictures, however, I got burned by ordering from them.
First, they have No listed phone number to call in the event of an order error. All communication with them must be done through their website.
Second, in communicating through their website and email, I have No response from the last 5 communications I have sent about an order that is late and may be lost. I was hoping for better than this from them.

I am refurnishing an office, recieved confirmation invoice for purchase price over $4000. I contacted them but did not receive a reply for 1 week. On the website they had multiple items of the ones I requested in stock. Finally received email that there were none in stock and would not be available for 2 months. When you go to the website again, it still says in stock. If you do not have it in stock, do not false advertise!

I hired Everything Quality Construction to prep and paint trim on my home and stain cedar shingles. The finished product was horrendous! I asked * the owner to come back and fix his terrible job. He refused. I asked him to review the job with me and show me what he did. No response was made. Stay away from the shoddy work this company does at * unthical business practices!

Only website which is saying that "PMC" Promotion Media Company is a "legitimate" business. When obviously isn't based on all the other complaints on the internet. Which, along with the fact that Houzz.com won't let me leave an ACTUAL review no matter how much I tried- about PMC. Leads me to believe that they have been paid to "clean up" bad companies reputations by stating they are "legitimate", instead of allowing ACTUAL reviews to be posted.

Bought an item which turned out to be the wrong size. I wanted to buy the correct size and return the other one. Customer service is ridiculously slow and with no way to call them is virtually useless. Been trying for days to resolve and can't get a return email. This is a high dollar item. Will NEVER buy anything from/through them again. They may be okay for design ideas but they have no idea how to be a retail co.

Purchased a new product through Houzz and received product damaged. No way to contact Houzz by phone so contacted through email about problems.
Have sent Houzz 4 emails and are not getting back to me nor their supplier.
Box delivered showed no sign of damage from outside. Sent Houzz pictures but still no response.

Houzz.com is a fantastic site for real estate and interior design. It is a graphics rich website with thousands of high quality pictures. I really like how information is organized in a way that you can see categories such as kitchen, bedroom, outdoor etc. or you can view by design styles like contemporary, traditional, rustic etc. There is a great feature called idea book that you can use to bookmark images that you like. Another great feature is the fact that you can find local pros to help bring your ideas to life. Houzz is also a great social website that you can interact with the designers and pros as well as other people who are users of the site. They also have great mobile apps to utilize the website. If you are looking for a great resource for home remodeling and design you must check out Houzz.com

Houzz.com is a homeowner's paradise! I love the photo gallery, accessibility, and local referrals on this site. I also have extensive ideabooks that I refer to when planning renovation work. We have used two local professionals that I found on the site and we have been VERY happy!:-)
