The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

They have the worst business practices and they do not know the meaning of customer service! I had to go directly to the company that they were ordering from in order to get any satisfaction. The only good thing that I can say is that they provided the name of the other company. It was Build.com. They were wonderful to work with!
If you have a problem with your order, you will never get it and will never get a hold of them. I called during their business hours and they don't answer the phone and I was willing to wait on hold as long as it took but they drop the call and only option is to leave a voice message and they never call back nor do they reply to the email! Use Overstock or wayfair or Joss & Main or west elm. I do almost all my shopping online and even random websites operating out of china and Houzz is the worst!
Laughing at the hearing impaired is NOT funny. The fear of being humiliated for misunderstanding a word isolates millions of hearing-handicapped people and prevents them from being active participants in society. Would you run a commercial which promotes laughter when a blind person trips and falls on a curb? Why is blindness a serious issue while deafness is hysterical?
Loss of hearing is not just an age-related issue. I personally have suffered severe hearing loss since my teens and have endured "socially acceptable" ridicule like your commercials are promoting for the past 45 years. (Many assume hearing aids restore normal hearing, like glasses restore normal vision, but this is absolutely NOT true.) Please stop contributing to this hurtful and harmful treatment of the hearing handicapped.
Houzz needs to work on their client reviews of their designers. Out of 10 clients, 2 reviews have not posted and 9 clients had to be contacted by me 3 -4 times to see if they posted their review even when being given the guidelines (i. E. creating a Houzz account). From a designers point of view, I give Houzz a D -.
I ordered a wedding present from Houzz. Houzz terrible customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. My purchase was for a drop dead date of a wedding. I began contacting them on the 16th of June with a call to customer service number asking if I ordered the item that day if it would arrive on time. I left a message, and there was a recorded message saying that someone would be back with me within 24 hr. I never got any response. I called again on the 18th and again no response. I finally posted a message on the web site on the 20th asking that the package be delivered at my sister's house in California, since it would not arrive before I left for her house a couple of days before the wedding. I got an answer back saying I would need to pay more postage to have it shipped there. I responded asking how much extra postage. No one responded till the 23rd, three more days of waiting. Someone called me from customer service and I asked that the package be shipped. They promised that they would be in touch with the shipping department and would get back with me once the package had shipped. I didn't hear anything more till the 30th, and the package still hadn't been sent. I outlined all the efforts I had made and that the delay was the fault of Houzz, and that therefore the package should be shipped the fastest possible way. Finally, on July 1, the package was shipped, UPS ground. The wedding came and went, and the package didn't arrive in time. Needless to say, I will NEVER, NEVER order from Houzz again. Heidi
Several phone calls to customer service re: delivery company issue... have yet to have return phone call... furniture piece was not inexpensive and surprised that HOUZZ does not take more responsibility for problem with local delivery group
Customer reps are courteous and enthusiastic but completely ineffective with handling the issue... very disappointing
Was looking for ideas for secret children's rooms. The search returned over 5,000 hits!
Started paging thru the results and only saw a half dozen or so. Most were other rooms that were completely unrelated to my search, and lots of advertising.
Ordered a bench through Houzz and it arrived damaged (UPS but not packed all that well). I dealt with Beth Brown and without her don't know if it would every been resolved. First asked if I wanted a refund or new bench. Really wanted that bench (now have and it is perfect) She stayed in constant touch and updated me to let me know she was waiting for response when there was a time lag. Finally heard from the seller and they said I could dispose of the bench which meant I had find some to take it and pay for pick and disposal. She offered to check out sources where I live that might take it. During the shipping process she gave me constant updates as the seller never provided shipping information. Then got an email from Beth wanting to know if it had arrived and was it OK. Will definitely order through Houzz in the future based on this experience. I am in the customer service business so rarely use the word awesome. Beth was awesome
Have had a Houzz.com professional site for several years and suddenly random, weird, badly written captions are appearing on our photos and projects. They're inaccurate and sophmoric. Wasn't contacted about this "change" at all.
Houzz took over the rose forum and I have never been able to sign in. When I try, the response is that I am already signed in,,, BUT then I am told again that I cannot join the web conversations because I am not signed in. This is truly a terrible website manager.
I was a member of the original Garden Web for years and never had this type trouble.

We are a small residential remodeling company in Portland, OR and have been partnering with Houzz for about 3 years now. The Pro + program is set up to help a business in the construction/design industry professionally represent themselves in front of potential clients. The staff at Houzz are wonderful and although our account manager has changed a few times, the service and communication are seamless. Once a month, our account manager and I set up a meeting to go over analytics and discuss how things are going. She always asks what she can do to help us and offers suggestions as well. Overall, I would recommend Houzz to anyone looking to take your marketing/advertising to the next level. It is well worth the cost.
My order came broken. It was a great understanding and outstanding service! Maureen was extremely helpful and a very, very professional! Houzz-you are a lucky one because Maureen is your service representative!
Thanks again!
Lauren and Jake were right there helping me with the issues I had with my product. I can honestly say that my matter was handled in the most professional manner and the problems were resolved in a matter of minutes (better than PayPal and PayPal is excellent). Houzz is exceptional!. I highly recommend doing business with them as I plan on doing so in the future. Thank you, Lauren and Jake.
We purchased a bathroom vanity that was delivered two weeks late to our vacation home and when we returned a month later we found a cabinet with no basin and no hole for the drain. The "vanity" was from Fox Den Store and custom made so they told us it took a little longer to get the order out and when I asked about the basin I was told I could probably get it it cheaper on Amazon than through the manufacturer. To be clear it was described as a Rustic Bathroom Vanity with Metal, 36x20x32 rustic-bathroom-vanities-and-sink-consoles and as the dictionary describes it: A vanity is a bathroom cabinet that encloses a basin and its water lines and drain, usually furnished with shelves and drawers underneath for storage of toiletries. So to say the least I am not a happy consumer and until I see a basin that looks exactly like the one in the picture I will continue to be Houzz's permanent nightmare.
I love Houzz. On an average week I receive calls or e-mails from 6 potential clients who found our firm through www.houzz.com. It is like having an around the clock marketing team showing our work across the country to people who are looking for an architect and are attracted to our style.
The pro version has allowed me to study which photos are trending and therefore which to use in other advertising venues as well as my blog posts and newsletters. It is not an exaggeration to say I would be lost without my Houzz.
I ordered a set of bed sheets for my son off of Houzz and was very pleased with the whole experience. Searching for what I wanted couldn't have been easier and the checkout process was quick and efficient. My order shipped on time and arrived in perfect condition. As I was browsing I started coming across many other products I need for my home and will definitely be using Houzz to purchase them in the future.
I purchased a farmhouse sink from Houzz and am very pleased with my shopping experience. They have a photo section that allowed me to see visual examples of what my sink would look like in my kitchen. When I was ready to buy I just went to their shopping section, added it to my cart, and purchased it with a click. The sink arrived on time and in great condition. I will definitely shop for home products on Houzz again!
I have purchased several items from this CA based Company and each item has lived up to, or bettered my expectations.
The service, both during and after the sale, was exceptional, with my particular respondent Grant Young reflecting this firms fresh, upbeat marketing approach. Well done guys!
I am a skilled experienced interior designer in Seattle.
I am now at the end of my year long contract with Houzz during which time I spent 2 thousand dollars.
My experience with this company has been terrible.
First they pressured me into the contract saying there was limited space and I needed to hurry up and sign up or loose my chance in the "zone" I needed to secure jobs.
I signed up and followed all their guidelines including numerous phone calls and emails from their "expert" staff and for NOTHING.
Sure I had leads, some that translated into actual meetings.
However in the end it was always the same story.
People looking for free advice, free ideas and schooling in the discipline of interior design.
People with every intention of doing it themselves once they realize they actually have to pay for this service.
I give Houzz a rating of 0 out of 10
In my opinion this is a scam site, only interested in getting your profile information so they can sell it -- You can't do anything without signing in -- not even browse. On my first visit they filled the lower half of my screen with a pop-up asking me to sign up -- no way to get rid of it without signing in. This has the appearance and feel of a scam site -- be careful. Read the reviews -- I will never be back.
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
