I tried to make a booking using booking.com but couldn't get past the credit card detail which was really annoying - kept telling me the form was incomplete despite trying several times on different devices, and the price was $30 more than the booking.com website. So, I went directly to the James Cook Hotel website which directed me to HotelsOne. Worked perfectly and at the discounted price!
I needed to know if the dog was acceptable and even though I checked off dog, here was no confirmation that the dog would be accepted when we got there. It was also hard to tell if the rooms were ground floor or not as the site said it was all one level and then referred to stairs. Or if they faced the lake or the garden and if that mattered in any way to the comfort or usefulness of the room. I had to phone and talk to the front desk to get my questions answered but still so not quite know what to expect. Other sites I have used showed a picture of exactly which room I was booking so I knew what I was getting.
I was trying to get a room for a night and did not realize that there was an event in town. Even lower-priced hotels were sky-high. I went a few towns away on the site and was able to book a good room.
It is not clear that the credit card details requested will be used to pay for the booking at the time. Other companies do Pay when you get there and just need CC details to secure the booking.
Won't be using you again.
It was easy and the reservation appears to have been placed. However the Expedia price was not what was charged. Paid a few more. Dollars for the convenience of the option of cancellation if necessary.
We made our reservations three weeks in advance, yet we got the worst room available; above the laundry room (dryers worked all night long), next to the elevators and facing the vending and ice machines.
Tino pai! Great! The confirmation email went to my SPAM folder, but it was great to have a heads up that this might happen. Otherwise, easy to navigate site, and I look forward to the trip and stay. Cheers DG
This website is a fraud. They charged me for a cancellation that was clearly in the guidelines for a refund. They even sent me a cancellation notice, and then said it was not cancelled. Spent a lot of time on phone and got the run around. What a Sham!
Just spent 1.5 hours on the phone with someone in the Philippines, over a reservation at a hotel 5 miles from my home. Just wanted to change the checkin day, and I wasn't even asking for a refund. Ended up being threatened with paying double and losing the whole reservation. "Do you want to pay an extra $580? Well do you?" And this was the SUPERVISOR. Run from this company!
I've booked 2 nights hotel and cancelled 10 days before the original check in date that is before penalty is imposed according to their email confirmation.
But they refunded $100.00 less!
Inquired *******683. First call, they hung up in the middle of me telling them reservation#. 2nd call, phone was breaking out so bad (for sure that's them). 3rd call, the rep said $100.00 is due to hotel policy, not HOTELSONE but the hotel was saying that is HOTELSONE policy. So the rep said "let me check further " then go hold. She never came back!
At the completion of booking a 2 night stay in a hotel through Hotelsone, I was informed my request could not be processed at this time. I immediately completed another request. You guessed it, I received two emails confirming my bookings. I immediately called Hotelsone service center. They put me on hold, then told me the hotel would not cancel the booking or refund my money. I was not looking for reciprocity from the hotel... it was not their fault. My request was made two days prior to my visit. There is no reason Hotelsone could not have canceled my second reservation. They have agreed to refund me half of the $279.00 fee. I will contest this charge with my bank. But I will never use Hotelsone again and I will be sure to share this experience over and over. I don't appreciate their customer service or lack thereof. This could have been handled with my first call to customer service.
Yet to stay at the hotel as i am booked in for this week for a seminar. I will have my family joining us at the hotel on Saturday and I am looking forward to that and hopefully utilising some of the Hotel's services and facilities.
I called the hotel to verify that they accept hotelsone reservations. They said yes but that hotelsone has a tendency to over book the rooms... She said they are going to call me to confirm that my rooms are secure within 24-48 hours.
Hotelsone's site is super easy to use though
Rang hotel to request early check in. Advised that I was prepared to pay the fee.
Response was that request could not be confirmed. Would be up to person on desk when we arrived.
In my circumstances this was not satisfactory.
It was fast, easy, and accurate. The confirmation went to my spam without me knowing. So I had to call the hotel to see if my name was on their register. Which it was. Fast forward a couple days and I decided to look at my spam and there was the confirmation.
Absolute garbage site. It is impossible to get a hold of them once you make a reservation to make any changes. They have a European phone number which is unaccessible no matter where you're at by cellular phone. You cannot dial an 800 number when you are out of the country.
And the hotel just tells you you have to call them which is impossible. I would not use this site if they were offering free stays in hotel please run run run.
My Hilton Garden reservation never happened. Arrived for reservation, had confirmation from my email, no room. Hotel never got a reservation request. I called HotelsOne no way to get a human answer my questions. This is a scam outfit. Hope FBI closes them down before others get scammed.
Don't use this HotelsOne. The worst experience ever.
They refuse to return the money even though knowing the situation we have to lived during Hurricane Dorian. Since we have to left the hotels 2 days early
My booking online seemed to take place just fine.
I received an email from Sitejabber asking if I had received confirmation. I replied NO but have since found an email from Hotels One confirming the booking.
They AGREEDED to refund money after I was hospitalized due to life threatening illness. Never received refund. Called again, spent waiting 20 minutes before hanging up. They said I had no record of calling before and tried keeping my 320 bucks.
Stay far far away from them. SCAMMERS!
