Home Depot's reputation is marked by a mix of positive and negative customer experiences. Many customers appreciate the wide selection of products and the knowledgeable staff, which contribute to a convenient shopping experience. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to installation issues, return policies, and delayed deliveries. Customers frequently report dissatisfaction with the handling of complaints and a perceived lack of support, leading to frustration and a sense of being undervalued. Overall, while the company offers a robust product range, its customer service approach appears inconsistent, impacting overall satisfaction.

Why is customer service always so awful at Home Depot. Ordered a few items online and went there to pick them up. It took forever to see this guy at the customer service and he just gave me rude attitude. I tried to be nice and stuff but man! I guess you could have a bad day but if you are going to treat your customers like that, you should not work at the customer service.
Rental department associates don't know anything about their equipment. They recommended the wrong machine and when I complained, they told me I should go online to research myself. Go rent somewhere else that has real professionals to assist you.
I went to the Home Depot on West 23rd Street, NYC for my kitchen renovation. I looked at floor displays for 20 minutes. Since no one came to help me, I asked a random sales associate where to find a knowledgeable associate - he pointed to three people sitting at desks. When I asked if someone could help me, a woman, barely looking up from her desk, asked if I had measurements. I did. She then said they had to indicate where the plumbing and gas pipes were - I told her the stove and sink would be in the identical place. With a disapproving attitude, she said she would be with me in 5 minutes. After 10 minutes I left and went to nearby Lowes where the staff were pleasant and accommodating. Home Depot lost a sizable sale.
The customer service I just received from Home Depot is subpar to say the least. The set arrived with white lounge chairs instead of the matching chairs shown. After spending 25 minutes on the phone with customer service and being transferred multiple times, they have the local store picking up all the pieces in 2 days. Their original solution was to have a third party carrier schedule a pick up within 2 weeks. My refund will not take place until they receive the mismatched merchandise back. I am severely disappointed as I had already put the table together with the thought process the chairs could be switched out. I will not being purchasing any items from Home Depot again due to this nor will allow the 9 apartment properties I oversee to purchase items from this store. As my company values customer service, we will only do business with those that share the same philosophy.
Watch out for the rainflo scam HD has going if you purchase they offer money back gift cards through mail which you'll never get they'll even perform a rigged water test inhouse where no matter water you give them to comes out contaminated, they give away a ton of crap detergents and other liquids which are not free you are paying for it with the over price water softnener and RO system you can buy the a better system anywhere else alot cheaper. I found that out the hard way my wife was overwhelmed with all the socalled freebies she signed the dotted line and I had to pay over 6 grand for a 2 grand system.Be wise don't go for the water test they won't leave your house without making you sign the dotted line.
Purchased a washer and dryer for a total of $2400. Scheduled delivery and set up for Tuesday 6/21/17 between 1 - 5pm. Took off early from work. They never showed. Called Home Depot and phone rang for 15 minutes and then I was transferred and it rang another 15 minutes or so before I hung up and started again. When I finally got someone on the phone the delivery department said there would be no more deliveries today. Perhaps tomorrow. The Home Depot clerk asked her to verify when I was scheduled for delivery and she said today between 1 and 5 but she didn't know where the truck was or what happened so it would be tomorrow. I cancelled and requested a full refund. I was told I can come in store to get a refund back to my bank card. Wow is all I can say! Then the delivery people called at 9pm to say They were 20 minutes away. We said we already cancelled. Never again will I shop at Home Depot!
I love their website better than their store, just because the store is big and I don't always even have the words for what I want, since I'm new to the home improvement world. Which makes me reluctant to ask for help, but when I have asked for help, they have been very friendly and helpful. The website though allows me to search and they ship stuff that isn't at my local store to my home and they ship big stuff that won't fit in my car to my home. Very nice.
6/21/2017 I came into to do a exchange not your everyday exchange long story short Kristen and Erin where there to handle it it took about a hour they made the transaction and customer service in my eyes is a10 great job ladies
As a new home owner I cant be more happy about the home depot paint department. The staff points me in the right direction to save money instead of up selling
Please for the love of God, someone needs to water the plants. My company would love to buy a truck load of flowers. We spend a lot of money on flowers for our landscaping. This is pertaining to the Danvers Mass. Store. Everything is dead and dying.
Today home depot delivered and installed my new Samsung stove and matching overhead microwave and LG dishwasher appliances. I probably wouldnt be so disappointed had I not paid extra for installation. During the install of the microwave for some reason the guy drilled a hole in my cabinets even though the outlet for the microwave is clearly visible on the wall, then he doesnt secure the microwave and it falls hitting my counter top and denting the microwave. I had to tell him I didnt want the microwave and take it out. Then he installs the stove, well sort of he connected the gas and he was leaving. I had to follow him out the door and ask him to make the stove level with the counter. The dishwasher well its not level either and they didn't install the bottom plate or leave it for me to install. AND had I not asked of the manuals I wouldnt have any. Ive called and notified the Home Depot I purchased everything from and let them know I will not allow their install service to install anything in my home again. I get it, its Friday and they cant really do or tell me anything till Monday. But right now Im considering canceling the microwave and just ordering one from Amazon.
I reached out to the New Hartford NY Home Depot to help me with a challenge I was having with one of the appliance companies. (The issue had absolutely no connection to the store except it was where I bought it.) MIke, one of the store managers, actually listened to my saga and took it upon himself to help me solve the problem. On his own, he reached out to corporate and got Greg involved. Rather than just saying that the manual says a certain thing, they got creative, they reached out to their superiors with an idea and a solution. Within a couple of hours they solved what the other rigid and inflexible company could not do in a year. This is not the first time I've had a Home Depot employee reach out to his supervisor to help me solve a challenge - luckily just a building challenge in the past! No company can be perfect, and not all employees have the experience or maybe the creativity to solve every problem. But respectfully reaching out to a manager can often make the difference we look for.
I love Home Depot, instore or online they always come through last minute. Granted sometimes it can get busy depending on what season it is STAY CLEAR and order online.
It is with a sad heart that I will no longer be a loyal Home Depot customer. I purchase several thousand each year along with many of my other veteran friends. We will all be moving our business to Lowes from this day forward. Currently I was trying to purchase three large Maytag appliances using my military discount. I called in to receive the discount off my online purchases of 2000+ to be informed they no longer offer the discount for the web purchases. I proceeded to check my local store to find said items & they were available but the discount STILL wouldn't be given. I went online to Lowes AND they not only had said items for same price BUT they give online military discounts WITHOUT calling! Everyone inform ALL your vet friends in addition to your other friends of the recent changes.
Recently I did a huge total home project to get our house ready to sell. I was able to go online and order what I needed and pick it up with ease. (I could have had it delivered but my supplies were needed the next day and I picked them up at the store on the way to the house.)
Sometimes I was unsure how much or what sizes were needed, so I ordered more than I used. Returns were made easy too. It saved hours of walking all through this huge store and I will definately use this online service again.
Home Depot only takes positive reviews on itz website. If you provide any negative reviews they reject
The sales manager is an $#*!, $#*!ing bastard. We have singed an agreement and opened an home account to replace our roof. After 4 weeks they found out that there is some issue with the pricing and he didn't even call us to explain the problem, without our consent, without talking to us, he cancelled the agreement, we had to go to Union city home depot ask came to know that this $#*!ing mother$#*!er sales manager cancelled our agreement. Don't waste your time. Don't let any home depot person come near your house.
They have such a great selection in the stores as well as online. I've been purchasing online with free store pickup in just a couple days. Great service and selection!
I went to the Oxon Hill store to get an 8 x 10 piece of wood cut and was told that they couldn't cut anything that's less than 12 inches, because it was a safety issue. If I were to go to Waldorf or Silver Spring or DC that they would do it for me. I asked why it's not a safety issue for them if it's one for you? Absolutely poor business practice. It just seemed an accuse not to provide service to me. Why be in our neighborhood if you can't give the kind of services we need? I would spend my money where i know I'm going to get the service I need.
I am glad to saying about Home Depot, I found Home depot best among others. I will sure use again your service. Thank you
Answer: Hi Betty, you can also return without receipt if you purchased using your credit card. Give them the same CC and they can tell the price you bought at.
