I'm so disappointed in Hobby Lobby at 4279 Lien Rd in Madison, Wisconsin. Our family has shopped at Hobby Lobby for approximately 23 years. Would not help us after requesting we send photos and making us go out of our way. The restrooms are never clean here either. We will shop at Michael's instead.
I was in the Hanes Mall Blvd. (Winston-Salem, NC) location earlier today (06.25.24) and as I was walking in to start my shopping, I walked past a couple of employees and someone who looked like a manager? I overheard, which was not hard to do, her talking to the two employees in the most "hateful" and disrespectful tone. No employees deserve to be spoken to in that manner or tone. You lose the respect of your employees, and if overheard, makes it easy for a shopper(s) not to return as a customer. If I'm not mistaken, it has not been the first time I have encountered the rudeness and disrespect from this young lady. It's doubtful I'll be back.
2nd request for management to train back up cashiers to take the NEXT customer in line waiting NOT the customer that is the closest/convenient to the backup cashier. I had one item to purchase and waited and waited, then the backup cashier was called but instead of asking me, who was next in line, the backup cashier asked the customer that was the furthest back and closest to her register. WTH?
Management: Teach your cashiers proper etiquette when open a new register because of a long line. CASHIERS: take more than just the next person in line take 2 or 3. This blonde racist cashier took the person in front of me to check out but ignored me as i was the next in line. Then the 3 customers behind me got helped by her before i was helped in the original line. She knew it too because she kept looking over her shoulder at me. REAL FUNNY - hope you got a big laugh out of it. I am going back tomorrow and if you are on a register, I'm going to stand there until you get someone else to help me. You didn't want to help me today so i don't want your help tomorrow. I have all day, it's my day off.
This week I stopped in at our local Springdale, Arkansas, Hobby Lobby since our weather here has been glorious and unseasonably mild, I was ready to leap into spring. I had just watched a YouTube decorating program, "New England.Fine Living," and as the host began to walk through how she is preparing for spring, she certainly inspired me. I entered the store with a definite decorating plan to create a fresh spring atmosphere in our home, and found everything I was looking for. In the photo you'll see a sample of some of the items I bought. After I'd made my purchases, I found I had misplaced my ATM card. A most helpful clerk, Jackie stepped in and focused solely on helping me locate the card. Her helpfulness and the fun items I found made my Hobby Lobby visit a a real success. I'll be bringing spring to our house in early March and adding these items to our Easter decor. Spring is about to bloom in all its glory in our home. Thank you, Jackie. And thanks, Hobby Lobby, for such a warm atmosphere and a kind, helpful staff. You're the best.
I went to Hobby Lobby to purchase fabric. Visible employees consisted of two cashiers. I selected my fabric and, per instructions on signage in the department, rang the bell for service. I ended up ringing that bell with increasing vigor over the next 20 to 30 minutes. I seriously considered pretending to walk out the front door with the bolt just so an employee would come forth to cut and sell me the fabric. Finally, an employee was summoned over the intercom. Angry about being compelled to wait on me, though I apologized for being an inconvenience, the employee began to ball & wad the fabric like garbage apparently intent upon damaging it. I insisted on folding the fabric. My business; my money was a complete inconvenience to Hobby Lobby. I'll remember it in the future. Also, NO ONE believes there's a labor shortage. We all know too many people who have submitted applications to retail stores with no response at all or who lacked sufficient retail experience to do the most basic entry level work or who were told they were overqualified. When retail stores do hire, they pay as little as $10 per hour. (https :// www.indeed.com/cmp/Hobby-Lobby/salaries?job_category=retail&location=US%2FGA#:~:text=Average%20Hobby%20Lobby%20hourly%20pay,per%20hour%20for%20Stocking%20Associate.) Meanwhile, corporations, like Hobby Lobby, fight an increase in the minimum wage tooth and nail. Hire people. Pay people. Or watch your customers walk away and prepare for bankruptcy.
The Hobby Lobby in independence, MO has very rude FRONT END Customer Service Management. (2-10-2024)
Kalamazoo, Michigan store. Twice now I take items up to the cashier and they tell me it's not on sale, or the discount is not as much as marked. They do nothing to try and rectify the issue, so I walk away without the product. Very disappointing. Won't be back anymore.
I purchased a gift card on 11/22/23. It was to be delivered directly to the recipient out of state within ten business days. Hobby Lobby never sent an email to confirm that the order had been shipped, or an email to confirm delivery. I checked the Order Status and realized it never said that the order "shipped." It still said "processing." I awkwardly confirmed that the recipient still hadn't received the gift card. When I called on 12/27/23, and asked why it hadn't been shipped yet, I was told by a very pleasant worker that it HAD been shipped and that the website status always says "processing" even after delivery. Because it had not yet been activated (because it was never ACTUALLY shipped/delivered), customer service offered to cancel that card and re-issue a new one containing the same gift card message at no extra charge to me. (Generous, right! Go figure.) I agreed to let them issue a new card, to be received in 10 business days. 11 business days later, still no gift card. I called. Another very pleasant worker informed me that the new card had never been sent by the previous worker, but that they had refunded me. Not at all what I asked for or what the rep said. I was never sent an email to inform me of this. I never got any notification of a refund. After searching my card statement, I confirmed that I was refunded on 12/29/23. I will never purchase anything from Hobby Lobby online and I will spread the word far and wide. Their customer service reps are very kind, but this experience has turned me off completely. Until they start sending proper email receipts/confirmations/shipping notices/etc. And update their order status feature through the entire purchase process (like every other company out there; Amazon, Etsy, small businesses, etc), they will continue to "accidentally" rob their customers who send gift cards. Hobby Lobby claims to send the gift card recipient an email to let them know that their card is on the way. I double checked the address. Surprise, surprise: they never got one. What an inefficient website/ordering system. Want proof? See the image attached. My order still shows as "processing." 1/12/24 Shaking my head.
Sent wrong plastic models and would not take back or exchange them. Spent 2 hrs writing emails but no help
Hobby lobby is a private business & can run their business as they choose. Closed on Sundays, not selling Halloween items, if they want to lose the monumental sales from these & other events they do not see as appropriate for them so be it. My issue is with basic customer service that ALL retail establishments should adhere to.
In a nutshell - the attitude of their employees is far from "Christian". They are actually judgmental & rude. Which leads to their horrendous return policy. I used to be a regular customer & without a receipt they will not return, or even exchange items - sealed in hobby lobby packaging. They actually treat you like a shop lifter - so very Christian.
That is not to mention their archaic checkout system at the register where you can only rely on the young, often uninformed cashiers to give you the correct pricing advertised. If you get a more seasoned employee more often than not they have an attitude.
Their online website is so out of date it's pathetic.
I must say this is the second negative review I have written in my life - I'm not a picky or a difficult customer but I can't NOT comment on this!
The store is fantastic, but it's hard to find help in the floor, and the checkout process is terribly slow…every time.
I ordered a replacement pitcher for the one my cat broke...It literally sat in.Indianapolis for four days and I could get no.updates. I emailed customer service twice and no one had the courtesy to respond. I doubt I will ever shop there again. Their "values" apparently.do.not extend to customer service for online orders.
I was at hobby lobby in Dubuque, Iowa today December 12,2023 probably between 4-5pm and there's a worker (management I do believe or so he pretends to be) he follows women around the store. This ain't the first time he has followed me and gives me the creeps. He treats everyone like they're stealing something. People can't even look around without him trying to follow them. When he stares at you and looking at every move you make. It makes me feel like he might try something with someone sometime. There's no point in saying anything to anybody because the store do care about their guest all the care about is money. So since everyone knows that the store won't do anything about it he's going to do something to somebody one day and it won't be me because I probably won't EVER EVER NEVER NEVER go back to that store unless he's not there. We can only Hope the store will do something but they won't until someone gets hurt and they get sued, and it's coming up soon I bit. I want all the women who go to hobby lobby to be careful and watch your backs and sides. Just be very careful no one knows what he's capable of or what he will do.
Will no longer shop@ Hobby Lobby, my close family & friends feel the same. Shameful that hobby lobby supports antisemitism.
A cautionary tale for all who purchase yardage from Hobby Lobby Online. I purchased a bolt of fabric to make two drapery panels. Like many sewists, I did not immediately get to the project, their return policy is 90 days. When constructing the panels I discover the bolt is not a continuous length of fabric, rendering it impossible to move forward as there is a loose seam joining 2 lengths of fabric on the bolt. Hobby Lobby's response? "We do not consider this to be a defect in the fabric"
Beware and inspect upon receipt!
I recently went to buy some items at the West Saint Paul location. While I was paying to the cashier, I realized that the supervisor was very close watching me with intimidation. If he sees a customer having a large quantity of items, it is ok to watch them but not in an intimidated way. He does not know how people feel when being watched very closed. I do not think I want to go back there again. It appears he enjoys intimidating customers like me who are not white.
2 of my items were broken very upset they were Christmas gifts. Need to do better on packaging fragile items
I ordered Christmas tree lights from the website due to my local store not having the ones I wanted. Ordering was super easy and delivery was pretty quick. However, when I open my boxes of lights I've clearly been sent items that have been returned, which isn't a problem if they were of good quality. The lights were knotted to hell and had ******* twist ties I had to unwind. AND one set of lights didn't work. Completely dissatisfied. Not only will I have to return a box of lights but I have also spent 2+ hours untangling my lights and untwisting the pointless twist ties.
What an outstanding experience we had with DAWN C.
Dawn skipped her lunch break to help us out with custom framing 5 paintings. The outstanding and amazing job she did led us to custom frame our other paintings as well.
Dawn is very professional and extremely patient.
Overall, we had a great experience with custom framing at HL and I highly recommend DAWN!
The store is full of Christmas decorations, but nothing about Hanukkah. They made a decision to stop selling anything that related to Hanukkah.
Answer: This shop reeks of racism. I will be using Michaels. Thank you
Answer: Unethically legit. HL really needs to evaluate their own marketing plan and step up their hiring practices in addition to stop buying B2B products from outside mass production sources. At least look at the quality before sticking and reselling total garbage. And ask yourselves "why are our employees so miserable"? Unhealthy culture = unhappy customers.
Answer: I have never been to Winston-Salem in North Carolina.
