DREADFULLY, ABJECTLY, SHAMEFULLY SUBSTANDARD FRAMING WORK FROM THE LAWTON STORE
July 16, 2023

My name is Angela Steele, and in 2018 I brought in a number of art posters to be framed at the Hobby Lobby in Lawton Oklahoma. At first I worked with a young man who seemed helpful and professional, but then it was an old lady who, although she seemed professional and helpful on the surface, kept making more mistakes in the quality and accuracy of the framing work. Every time I brought in a new poster to be framed it came back looking sloppier and imperfect. Keep in mind that when Hobby Lobby finishes your framing jobs, they wrap the pieces in plastic. If you want to see the quality of their work, you need to unwrap the piece in the framing department right away and confront them with their mistakes. I never did this because I trusted these people to do the work they were charging me for. There was one piece in the beginning that the old lady in the framing department actually called me about and she told me on the phone she had made a mistake and trimmed the poster too short and did I want her to continue? I told her yes finish the piece. I believe at that point she was totally sick of me and $#*!ing stuff up on purpose, yet I kept bringing more posters in and spending a lot of money, only to get them home and find small imperfections or damage. WHY AM I COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS FIVE YEARS LATER? BECAUSE EVERY TIME I SEE HER $#*!TY WORK HANGING ON THE WALLS OF MY HOUSE, THE WORK THAT I PAID SO MUCH FOR, I WANT HER TO READ THIS AND REMEMBER ME. I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU OLD LADY - YOU WORK IN THE FRAMING DEPARTMENT AT THE HOBBY LOBBY IN LAWTON OKLAHOMA - 36 NW Sheridan Rd, Lawton, OK *******. My name is Angela Steele, and I will never forget you. You $#*!ed up my Picasso print and my Cannes/French Riviera travel poster. I was so ashamed and embarrassed about what I thought was criminally shameful behavior, I did not have the balls to bring the pieces back and confront you with your $#*!ty work that I see every day on the walls of my house. But I will never forget you and I hope you get fired because you are a very bad person. Of note: I noticed that some of the invoices show this: ART CONDITION: Mold/Mildew, Wrinkles/Creases, Rolled. OF COURSE THEY WERE ROLLED! THEY WERE IMMEDIATELY PUT INTO POSTER TUBES WHEN WE BOUGHT THEM AND WERE NEVER HANDLED AGAIN UNTIL THE DAY THEY WERE LAID OUT ON YOUR TABLE.

LOVE the supplies/HATE THE STORE!
January 14, 2023

They REFUSE to put up actual signs at each isle so you can find, well, ANYTHING! They have PRICE TAGS for God sakes, no bar codes! And you may as well FORGET looking for something on their website….becuz it's COMPLETELY out of date, there's about a MILLIMETER of items on the site compared to what's actually in the store, and I've actually had one of their STUPID managers actually try and look up something on their site to see if they carry something? My JAW HIT THE GROUND! I was like…"you're not ACTUALLY attempting to look up something on your website to prove to me that you DONT carry something? Well OF COURSE it's not gonna be on the site! NOTHINGS on the site! So of COURSE you won't be able to find on the site! If you wanna return something, they don't give you that hard of a time, UNLESS the person or manager doesn't like you much or you piss them off! Because then they'll look through the return to see if there's ANY damage to the product, tiny scratch, missing parts, BUT, I've found COUNTLESS items, (specifically CLOCK KITS), sitting on the shelf, MISSING PARTS, AND THE BOX BEING TAPED TOGETHER, PROVING that it's a return (likely because ALL OF THEIR CLOCKS RUN SLOW!), Yet, there were MISSING CLOCK ARMS, MISSING NUTS, you name it, yet they throw them back on the shelf, because that company is GREEDY AS HELL! How can you have a store these days without being digital? PLUS hire the MOST INCOMPETENT store managers on the planet! They DO have good prices on canvas, HOWEVER, I actually witnessed canvas, one was 36"x48" for like $40, (Approx), but then the 34"x46" was like $70! This was APPROXIMATE prices! And I'm not positive of the sizes, but that gives you an idea of HOW THE IDIOT IN CHARGE OF PRICING SCREWS UP….Majorly! I mean, this person MUST BE FIRED! Who does that? Like, they had 2 2oz squeeze bottles for sale for $1.99, but then in a different place on the same isle, they had more 2oz squeeze bottles for sale for $2.99! NOT a different brand, NOT a different color or ANYTHING!? And this happens ALL THE TIME! And when you bring them up front to HOPEFULLY FIX the issue, or at LEAST bring it to their attention, enough to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! BUT, FORGET IT! They'll NEVER fix the problem! They just simply say, "we're not in charge of the prices!" And the issue REMAINS! It's like you're talking to a brick wall! They couldn't possibly care less what your issues are, even when I brought up 2 things of paint, same color, same brand, same size, yet one had a PRICE TAG of $6.99 on it, and the other one had $9.99 on it! I asked them HOW someone could make that kind of MISTAKE? She responded with "oh, it's because of the RECESSION"! I mean, it's one thing to raise your prices - dollar here, $2 there, but to RAISE THE PRICE OF A SMALL BOTTLE OF PAINT, (2 ounces), $3.00….THAT JUST PROVES THEIR TAKING FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE RECESSION, by RAISING PRICES on JUST certain things….and raising them RIDICULOUSLY HIGH, AND ONLY on things that were already OVERPRICED TO BEGIN WITH! I mean, we're talking about a 2 OUNCE PLASTIC JAR of "FOLK ART" PAINT, THAT IN OTHER STORES ARE A LOT CHEAPER! THEIR CANVASES ARE OFTEN 40% OFF, WHICH IS THE ONLY TIME PPL BUY THEM, BECAUSE THEYRE ALSO WAAAAAY OVERPRICED! AND AGAIN, SOME LARGER, (NON GALLERY WRAPPED CANVAS), are priced LOWER than SMALLER (NON GALLERY WRAPPED CANVAS)! The way they have them priced shows CLEARLY that the person in charge of pricing NEEDS TO BE FIRED! It's almost like they close their eyes, and do "EANIE-MEANIE-MINIE-MOE" to decide what prices go where! It's probably one of the owner's CHILDREN doing the prices….otherwise, HOW COULD THEY POSSIBLY STILL EMPLOY SOMEONE THAT STUPID?

So BE AWARE, WHEN you find something priced WAY WRONG as I've described, the manager WONT DO SQUAT!

Tip for consumers:

NEVER use their website to find things!! (Because you’ll NEVER FIND IT!!!)! You’ll have to physically visit the store…but WATCH THOSE PRICES!!! A lot of things are priced differently, so grab the one with the cheapest “PRICE TAG”!!! (I STILL can’t believe I’m saying those words!!!)! Don’t bother getting the manager about their RIDICULOUS SCREWED UP PRICES, because they won’t do a damn thing about it!! Frankly, if you have ANY prob., the mgr won’t do ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING!!

Products used:

I’ve been here MANY MANY times!! I’m an artist, so I really like their paint, (Masters Choice) and often take advantage of their canvas sales. So I’ve had ALOT of experience here, BUT, I’m getting to the point where my patience has RUN OUT!!! They’ll be losing a VALUABLE customer when they lose me!!! (Not that they care…)

I thought Hobby Lobby would have a better management staff
September 7, 2020

Let me preface this whole email by saying that my wife and I LOVE hobby lobby. We walk into a store at least once a week, even if it's just to look.
Today, actually 20 minutes ago, my wife went to purchase a fall decoration. We went specifically for a certain type of decoration and the one she found was the closest that came to what she wanted. While contemplating purchasing this item my wife notice the not so perfect craftsmanship on it. Glue was hanging off of it and smeared across some of the decoration. As well as the top of a pumpkin was coming loose. Even still my wife still wanted it. When we came to the cashier, Dillon, who could have cared less if he helped us or not, very inattentive and careless, my wife asked if there was anything that could be done about the less than satisfactory craftsmanship. Dillon waved down Trish, a manager, to which Trish said there was nothing she could do and that we "can take it home and just snip it off." I was taken aback by this comment. I shouldn't have to take "art" home and have to fix it. So after telling us she couldn't do anything for us, without saying sorry about the terrible work or any kind of sympathy for the situation, my wife still purchased this piece of work. On the drive back home my wife noticed more small details that made this piece not worth the money we paid. So we headed back to Hobby Lobby to return it. Personally I have a small temper but I held myself together and I wasn't going to say a word because it wasn't worth it to the cashier who knew nothing of the situation. THEN. Trish was called over to complete the refund. After she inputs her numbers or whatever she picks up the piece and proceeds to tell the cashier "the lady that bought this was complaining about the glue", saying it very patronizing and with an attitude. I opened my mouth and showed her about 4 other things wrong with it, to which Trish responded with silence. No sorry, no empathy for it being a bad piece of work, NOTHING. I told her "thanks for being empathetic to the situation, I really appreciate it". Simultaneously the cashier is handing me the refund money and I start to head out the door and Trish makes it a point to say with an attitude and rudeness in her voice telling me to "have a nice day". I work in a profession where customer service is vital to my operations. And how she spoke to myself, and how she handled the situation was absolutely atrocious. Not sure how exactly she became a manger but something needs to be looked into at the Hobby Lobby on Old St. Augustine Rd in Jacksonville Florida. Never going to that location again and it will be a while before I go back to any Hobby Lobby. Terrible experience, and at the hands of a "manager" none the less. Being in customer service I know that it's almost a 100% guarantee that nothing will come of this review and life will go on as normal. I just hope Hobby Lobby steps their standards up as far as management goes.
