I have used Hertz twice in the last month and been impressed both times. I used their kiosk to rent both times and I went through the line way faster than everyone else that went to a teller.
Want to make sure Hertz is aware of the Patience, the Skills, and the Ethics of the Manager Alberti
Of Fort Mayer Airport location.
The manager was very helpful, very patient and intuitive in navigating the Hertz difficulties and our needs

I rented from Hertz through the Uber program. They told me that they have issues with automatically debiting BofA, which is my bank but accepted me into the program. My money was always available for them to debit but sometimes they had issues but got their money regardless. They knew this about my bank before going into contract with me and accepted me into their rental program regardless. They then without warning took away my ability to drive through them which put me out of work. They then charged more than they should have. I tried to resolve things calmly but was treated poorly by customer service so went though the BBB only for them to now state I owed them a 1000 dollars after taking over 1400 from me, more than I owed. Every time I answered back through BBB they upped what I owed them. They were clearly punishing us for going through the BBB. They now say we owe them well over 2000 dollars. These people are dirty and think they are unaccountable but we will see. Stay away from Hertz!
On October 28th 2020 I called hertz to find out the cost of renting a car the give me a price I liked and reserved they gave me a confirmation and I waited for my trip to happen, the day came and I went to pick up the car and the representative told me that he did not accept that contract and that he was going to make another one with a price three times higher than what we originally agreed without having any other option than accept it since I was in another country, what they do is not fair.
Look at the charges Hertz added to my bill. Very deceitful company. Will never rent from them again

On August 4,2022, I had the privilege of renting an SUV from "Andre" at 8000 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland. I am not a person that normally would write a review but this guy was fantastic! I originally had a reservation with a fairly new Enterprise location in Hyattsville, Md. Because it was closer to home. I personally went there the evening before (Aug 3) to confirm everything. Needless to say, the day of rental (Aug 4) there was no car of any type available! I was "livid" to say the least. After several calls to hopefully rent immediately, "Andre", at Hertz, said he could help. He advised me to call and make the rental request for an SUV because that was all he had. The reservation agent said there were no SUV's in the system for that location. I called Andre again, who gave me a direct number to call him after I made the reservation. I explained to him that the Hertz reservation system showed cars for rent but no SUV's even though he said he only has an SUV. Andre said, "do not worry, how soon can you get here, I will take care of it myself". An hour later, I was in an SUV and on my way. This was one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. This guy did not have to do this. I will always remember this experience and will make Hertz and this location my first choice as well as recommend this location any chance I get. Thanks, Andre!

If I could give a Zero I would. I rented a vehicle, was told by the employee behind the counter to select a car from the Gold Row. I showed the attendant in the parking garage my pamphlet marked Gold and he put me in a Nissan Rogue. When I got to the check out booth, I was told I was in the wrong vehicle and either needed to pay $15.00 extra a day or back up the vehicle had a line of seven cars behind me. I asked the booth attendant to simply drive it around and get the "right" vehicle, and she said no. She then said I could pay $10.00 extra per day (scam!). I decided to leave and upon return, take photos of the Gold Row with Nissan Rouges in them, which I did. Then call Hertz to be refunded the. They told me that since I was in the wrong vehicle class (guess I am a supposed to know that and not the Hertz employee that sent me to the Gold Row) the charges hold. So, the incompetency of their employees let to additional charges for me. I, nor my family will never rent a vehicle from Hertz again. Buyer Beware!
Recently rented a car from Hertz using Hotwire. The price I got at Hotwire was at least $100 less than Hertz was advertising. Their cars aren't gold, why do they think they are?
My boyfriend had placed a rental through a third party sight Expedia, for Hertz Rentals. Given he is only 20, it gave us very little rental places to choose from. This was the worst company we have worked with, overall. None of the customer service lines or actual "in person" staff could tell us the same information, nobody knew what was going on. The manager tried charging us a underage fee which is lifted until March, which my boyfriend than had to correct him and his staff as well. We were told at first, from the customer service number at the rental store, we did not have a rental because we paid with a debit card, then the corporate number told us we had a voucher through Expedia so we still do have the rental. Everything has been very misleading and overall the worst company experience in general. None of the staff were on the same page and everything was wishy washy. It's sad to see "young people" only subjected to this rental place because no else accepts underaged renters. We are from Newyork in Bradenton, Florida for only ten days, we had planned our entire trip around this rental, the only "relief" and "compensation" we received was when we actually were able to pick up the rental and felt relief that this company still had it booked so we wouldn't miss out on our other plans. Little too our knowledge our rental is under the wrong name! Long story short, will never recommend this place, and would seriously love to make everyone aware.
I rented a midsize SUV from Hertz via Hotwire.com at the ATL airport on 4-11-2024 for $88.87. While at the counter, I was asked the standard questions about insurance, gas, etc. I was never asked if I wanted to upgrade my selected vehicle. When I received the emailed bill, I noticed that I had been charged for an upgraded SUV that I never asked for and was never informed I was getting. When checking out of the rental center, I also noticed that the gas gauge was showing less than a full tank. When I asked the lady about this, she told me not to worry about it and to just bring it back with the same amount. They have to know that this would be next to impossible because you would have to add gas, stop, check the gauge, and repeat multiple times to get it where it was. I also figured if I brought it back less than a full tank, they would attempt to charge me the $10.67 per gallon they charge to add gas to an under filled return.
Once I received the email receipt and saw that I had been charged an additional $105.21 for an upgrade I did not request or consent to. I filed a complaint with Hertz Customer Care. Today I received a reply back from them basically saying that it was my fault for not reading the rental agreement fully before signing it. They took no responsibly for upgrading me without my knowledge or consent. This is insane to claim that I should have read the entire rental contract prior to leaving the counter. They have now charged me $193 for a vehicle I had for less than 8 hours.
I do a lot of traveling and have rented a lot of vehicles. I have been asked multiple times if I wanted to upgrade, and I have been upgraded for free many times when they don't have the size vehicle I reserved, but I have NEVER been charged for an upgrade that I neither asked for or consented to. I will go out of my way to never rent from Hertz again.
I am retired 67 year old living off a pretty meager pension and cannot afford these tactics by an employee of Hertz. I have filed complaints with both the Georgia Attorney Generals office and the BBB.
Had a reservation@9:30am...was told after I asked I cannot leave my car there...so had to go back and get someone to give me a ride. Got a car...packed and ready to leave town- of no passenger seatbelt does not work most of the time (also front tires unsafe in rain, but I didn't even mention that). Took it back, and response was oh I got it to latch...That's nice but I'm not interested in a car that has a seatbelt that latches 2 out of 10 tries...I insisted, and they gave me different car. Loaded and left town. Now the AC does not work...we hit 88 degrees on the way back...that nice and BTW torrential rain so the 1st car would have had 2 problems.
Ok add these 2 things to that...1) when I picked up the car I actually rented, I got no walk through the car, no check of anything and it had a huge scrape on one of the wheel arches...went back and was told oh yeah we noted that. The gas tank was 7/8 full (digital gauge) and they marked it full. By the time I left it was 11am instead of 9:30. Asked them to change time on rental to 11...they refused.
2) just called customer service and was told all they can do is $50 credit toward future rental...GTFO- insulting for such problems. Asked to speak to supervisor was told there are none available.
Here we are. Your experience may vary but this got to be the worst rental for me in 30+ years
I called to confirm my truck would be available and ready for pickup on June 15,2022, by 12:00 pm CST. I spoke with Tiara (Wednesday, June 14,2022, at 3:55 pm) at the Hertz location where it was to be picked up. The location was 1831 Getwell Road, Memphis, Tennessee *******. Tiara confirmed the vehicle would be ready for a 10:30 am pickup. When I arrived the representative (Tiara) explained the rental was schedule for a 12:00 pm pickup, but the truck had been sold and asked if I wanted another vehicle. I said no, she offered other options which would not accommodate my needs. Tiara spoke with her manager (Jeremy), who never showed his face, nor gave me the courtesy of speaking with me about this situation, I waited for some kind of resolution. After sitting and waiting for an hour to be accommodated with a vehicle that would support my needs, Tiara finally explained Hertz had 2 pickup trucks in their fleet; one was the truck that was sold the night before and the other was damaged. I felt this was terrible service for them to sell the truck the night before it was schedule for a customer's/my use. Additionally, Tiara said she would continue to try to locate me a truck and they would deliver it to me. Today is Friday, June 24,2022, at 4:50 pm. I have not heard a word from Hertz, not an apology or anything. This is the worst service from any business I ever remember experiencing.
Finally, I went to Budget Car Rental, I had a 2022 Dodge Ram truck with 133 miles on it, within 30 minutes and I was on my way, THANKS Budget.
Hertz that was PISS - POOR service and I will definitely share my experience.
I was looking for a pickup truck rental from Las Vegas Airport to Dallas Fort Worth Airport. There was no a availability, so I had to request rental from an off airport site and drop off at a off airport site. Got to the car rental at 5905 W Sahara Ave in Vegas and was told, no pickup truck was available (No one had call or emailed before I took a one way flight to the location), so I had to take an alternate vehicle to get back to Texas. I was told to take it to the Airport and exchange for a pickup truck. I informed the manager that nine was available during my booking. I drove to the airport and the clerk said none was available so I had to drive back to Texas without taking the personal property I originally went to pickup. I called customer service to inform them of dropping off the vehicle at an alternate location and they never mentioned anything about a price changed. Once I turn in the vehicle, I was changed double the price per day since it was returned to the alternate location. Two people was helpful. The Guy"Naju who took the vehicle and the second customer service lady who said she was only able to take the upgrade off the price. Everyone else was of no help. Some need to train or possible fired.
NEVER prepay for Hertz! In fact NEVER rent from Hertz! The only reason I prepaid for 8 days on a rental car is because the car movers said it could take that long to deliver my car from where it was shipped in Washington state. Well they delivered my car to Phoenix in 2 days, so I returned the Hertz rental car immediately after my car was delivered (SIX DAYS EARLY!). Because I made the mistake of prepaying, Hertz will not refund me ANYTHING for the six days I did not use. This is nothing but highway robbery, and I will make it my business to tell ALL of my friends and colleagues about how Hertz is perfectly happy to rip them off! NEVER use Herts!
Consumer
HERTZ WILL NOT ADJUST THE RENTAL AGREEMET IF YOU NEED TO RETURN THE CAR EARLIER
IF YOU NEED TO EXTEND THE RENTAL AGREEMENT HERTZ WILL ADJUST THE AGREEMENT
HERTZ WILL LIE ABOUT THE ADDITIONAL HOLD AND CHARGE YOUR CARD THE FULL AMOUNT AS A HOLD
THIS IS NOT A GOOD COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH- THEY PRACTICE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE CONSUMER- SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!
Been loyal to Hertz for years. Always only went to Hertz for our rental needs and because Gold members. In the past, when we have reserved vehicles, never had a problem. We reserved a full size SUV a month ahead of time to move our son across the country. Our flight landed at 9:30pm and that is the time our reservation was made for the month prior. We arrived and they had no full size SUV's. We ultimately were given a MIDSIZE SUV. I asked the employees what is the point of making a reservation if you're going to turn around and rent it to someone else. They assured us that we would get credited for the difference. Wrong. Hertz has stood their ground that they are the same vehicles, yet when you Google full size SUV's and Midsize SUV's, there is clearly a difference. The only thing Hertz offered us for the inconvenience is 750 points which would cover 1 day of an economy to midsize sedan for any future rentals. So…not even a day of the type of vehicle we payed for. Sadly, Hertz is not the same company we had previously done business with and will not be doing so in the future. By the way, the vehicle we were given was filthy. We found a toddler sized gym shoe, a full pack of gum, several chocolate candies and $. 37. All of which was turned in when we returned the vehicle. And when we called corporate to complain, the rude woman, who wouldn't give her name, said, "what would you like me to do…charge you more?". Horrible customer service.
I arrived at Hertz car rental Hwy 49 location gulfport ms on Friday March 8 to pick up car I reserved Location was closed I had no notice Missed sons wedding
I rented my vehicle through Priceline. Came to a total of $245. The moment I went to go pick up the vehicle the representative told me that they had a Land Rover ready for me and that all I need to do was give my credit card to add a security deposit (standard procedure). Next, She printed a little sheet of paper highlighting my name and told me to make sure that my name was printed right. It was correct. She handed me the keys and told me I was all good to go. When trying to leave the parking garage, I was held for 20 minutes because the car I had wasn't supposedly the one I had been assigned. They were acting real suspicious and later let me leave. Everything was all good until the day before my return when they sent me a receipt of all the upgrades that "I had requested" It was insane. It was a total of $402 dollars on upgrades. I NEVER, ONCE said I was okay or wanted any upgrades. The receptionist added all those charges to my reservation without asking me. I contacted customer service and they basically ignored my emails and kept telling me that I asked for them. I WILL NEVER EVER be using this business again. They are scamming people, don't let it be you.
DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL. THEY ALSO WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THINGS THAT THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU ABOUT UNTIL AFTER YOU RECIEVE YOUR RECIEPT UPON RETURN. I CALLED TO SPEAK WITH A REP ALEXANDER L. EMPLOYEE NUMBER 4440 AND SHE STATED I CAN NOT HELP YOU AND I CAN NOT TRANSFER YOU TO MY SUPERVISOR. JUST AWFUL! I SHOULD HAVE STUCK WITH ENTERPRISE LIKE I ALWAYS DO! I WILL NVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN!
Never take the car from Hertz, they are more than double the price of the market.
If you are planning to book one at the airport, it is better to reach your destination by Uber and book through any other local company.
Before you realize they are looting you, you will be well under a lot of money and will repent.
I am telling you from my personal experience, that after paying over 4300$ in two weeks I realized the same could have been done maximum of USD 600.
Never, Hertz, we get under the impression of Tesla and all through them but it is all a trap. Worst company to take car rental from.
I took Tesla and lost my Key, I called the call center they told me USD250, and to take a replacement, when I went to take a replacement they charged me USD400 dollars for the key, and the person at Newark airport in the Gold member area was damn rude. When I said okay I will return the car, this person charged me a full week despite I returned in one day, I did not realize it earlier, but after a few minutes when left, ran back to him what he did.
No apologies nothing, he just said "O" and then adjusted it. As if he is doing a favor to me.
First, we stand in the queue every time for over an hour, where one person will be there who is least interested in working and above that charges you exorbitant money and loots you.
My advise do whatever but keep away from HERTZ.
Answer: Unfortunately scam is a kind of normal for hertz.com
Answer: ENTERPRISE! Go there, they have way better rates and won't screw you over.
