The farm to you in 4 days is bull$#*! and when you call, you get some bull$#*! artist in India, scam
Not fast to prepare, spaghetti was tasteless and so was the shrimp, cancelled the acc after the first trial!
I've tried five different meal delivery services, and HelloFresh is my favorite! I highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys cooking.
The food comes sorted with recipes, you can choose your preferences, and it tastes great! Easy to cook
I have ordered 3 boxes, every single box had a missing ingredient, how does that even happen? And its so expensive!
Absolutely terrible. Rude people in customer service. They are awful! Dont use this company!
$#*!ers
Check the weights and measurements. Potato is continually shorted. Spices are also under measurement.
Thanks Jo for the amazing review!
I really needed to find a more convenient way to get back to loving to cook in my kitchen…
I ended up finding another service, HomeChef, which originally started over in Belgium but is now available across the United States, Australia, and other countries. I have tried a number of different "dinner subscription boxes" and this one TOPPED MY LIST!
I started looking for a way to try this service pretty cheap, because I already pay too much for groceries, and I found a great deal for HomeChef!
I got $30 Off and Free Shipping on my First Order by using this offer link: https :// www.homechef. Com/%69%6E%76%69%74%65/kQWAUbAMrJo
That made my first order only $29, perfect to give it a try! In my first order I got the Raspberry Chipotle BBQ Chicken and it was SO good! The other meals included a Mushroom and Swiss Beef Burger and Sous-Vide Baby Back Ribs. They were all very easy to make in MY OWN kitchen and my whole family loved how they tasted! I now get it every week because it is SO convenient, tastes AMAZING, and I get to try cooking new things that I would have never made before…
I just thought I'd post it if anyone else is looking for a deal to give it a try.
My husband and I first started this as a way for us to do something together, cooking a great meal while learning new things about food. When we first started, we planned our grocery trip accordingly. We excluded a couple meals from our weekly menu to make room for what was being delivered, only our delivery never showed up. Not a great start! I reached out and they credited my account for the charges to be used on a future box. The next week went better, our kit showed up with great timing, the food was good and we enjoyed cooking it. It was time consuming but we thought once we got the hang of it, it would go faster. Fast forward a month later and it was still taking us approximately 45 minutes to cook each meal. One in particular, a pasta meal which was probably a favorite, ended up taking me over an hour to make. Yikes! After that, we decided to take a break. I skipped all our meals possible, 5 weeks. Then, we went on vacation and I forgot to skip. That same day I went online and cancelled our account, letting my $80 credit go even though it should have been used by then. The account said no upcoming deliveries, I assumed no more boxes and thought my money would be refunded since it hadn't shipped. That was not the case! They still charged me, shipped the food because it wasn't cancelled 5 days before delivery and I had to forgo my credit because I was still in a promotional period. Their website can be hard to navigate, there are lots of ins and outs about the promotions that are not clearly stated and they can take your money and not provide product. We've tried Blue Apron, Factor 75 and Hello Fresh and this has been by far the most disappointing.
I used a discount code from a Youtuber to get $80 off my first several boxes. My husband thought HelloFresh sounded expensive and didn't think the food would be good, however the first box was already on its way. I cancelled the next orders. I got the food, cooked it, my husband thought it was good but would want to see more options to see if it was worth it. I wanted to pick up where I left off with my coupon which was revoked from my account. I messaged the customer chat and the girl told me due to the wording in that Youtuber's discount code I may be able to continue where I left off. I was on hold for 20 minutes with her on the chat, and she told me basically after getting my hopes up that she could not apply the discount again.
So my husband tried opening a hello fresh account and he picked out the food and it was good to go with the discount again. Got an email the day it was suppose to ship out saying "your household has already tried hello fresh so we're deactivating your account and refunding you" which is so stupid because he is his own individual.
None of this would've happened if they honored the coupons. Haven't tried more than 3 meals, but if you mess up in any way you don't have extra ingredients to fix your meal - kind of screwed. I have to using my own ingredients to fix some stuff.
Overall, disappointed and would not pay full price to do it without knowing there are more than 2 meals I liked.
We ordered 3 meals, husband and I liked 2 out of 3. That's the only reason they're getting two stars.
The pasta dish seemed like a waste because it was something I could've easily picked up from the store.
The other thing I HATED was that they say they provide everything you need, but for most dishes they require you to provide oil, salt, pepper, and specific things like a zester which not everyone has on hand or may be low on supply.
Please be aware that you will be charged for your first meal order if you sign up on their website. JUST BY SIGNING UP IN THEIR WEBSITE! No freedom to go see and stay without ordering or planning to submit the order later! There is no exploring option given to customers. You cannot see what meals they offer or what would be the prices until you sign up and when you sign up, you are automatically charged for the meal plan that you are forced to choose when you sign up. This is cheating! For someone like me who is new to the system, you don't even realize that you made a Hello Fresh purchase until you get the purchase confirmation email with a charge to your credit card (you have to give the credit card number when you sign up too). I am very satisfied with the customer service though. The lady who responded to my call explained this clearly and cancelled my order without giving me any more trouble. However, I will get the refund in 3-5 business days only :) BUSINESS TRICKS! How many of us will spend time calling them, waiting in line, and cancelling the order? The majority of us will just let it pass thinking 'Oh, it is just one order. I don't have time to call and cancel. I will just accept it.'. That means they got another purchase order! She also said that they have alerted customers about this on their home page, but I didn't see any such messages there. Moreover, there was a HelloFresh booth at CNE Toronto and I got a discount code from there (that's why I went to the website and see what they offer and I was actually interested in giving it a try), but when I entered the code on the website, it said that the code was invalid! I checked the code several times thinking I made a mistake, but no, I entered the code I was given. This looked like a decent service, but now I don't think so. Very disappointed!
Careful they just keep taking your money and sending orders, they really aren't worth the cost of the meals.
No question just a comment. When you call to accept delivery of a prepaid meal. Why is a credit card needed ignorer to receive the meal
This company is Horrible about getting orders correct and they are NEVER gluten sensitive. I get the wrong meals delivered every time.
Friendly heads up to anyone who orders from hello fresh. If your order is postponed by a day. There is a chance that it has sat in a unrefrigerated warehouse. Fedex had my package in their warehouse for two days. (i got a friendly message from hello fresh telling me my order was delayed a day later, and heres a $10 credit. Which to anyone who is not monitoring the tracking would make you think Hello fresh was a day late sending it out. That wasn't the case it was in limbo with fedex)
I asked the Fed ex driver directly if the truck is refrigerated he said no. I asked if the warehouse is refrigerated he said no, it sat on a shelf all day yesterday and all last night. The representatives at Hello fresh will try to tell you that their magic cardboard boxes with 3 lonely ice packs will keep your food fresh and cold for 60 hours! (this was laughable) Which is what the lady said when I spoke to her on the phone about my box being "out for delivery for two days." I kept asking her the direct question. "Is the warehouse refrigerated?", she dodged my question and kept going on about the cardboard box. Her tone was VERY condescending, and i got very frustrated with her refusing to answer a direct question. Don't I have a right to know if my food has been stored correctly? Shouldn't hello fresh know these things?!
When I opened my box the ice packs were melted and everything inside was warm... PLEASE keep this in mind if your order is "postponed or delayed." They are not monitoring the safe food handling of your deliveries and you could get VERY sick. Make sure if your order is postponed it has been stored correctly and if you do not know, please do not eat it. I was horrified to know that my food (including raw chicken, turkey, fish and beef) sat in an unrefrigerated warehouse for two days at 20 degree temperatures and then rode around in a fedex truck for for another 10+ hours.
Awful company, terrible service and scammers!
I tried this once, one box at a discount rate as a trial, I wasn't able to navigate around the website so cancelled the subscription straight after. Since then I was called lastweek by the most extremely pushy and forceful sales person I have ever dealt with. Offering me discount, giving me dates, telling me that if I end the call I won't get the discount. Constantly ignoring my no thank yous and saying pick a date. I ended the call completely co fused by the whole thing and honestly shocked that this sales technique was still
Something companies do.
I didn't trust the call as it felt very wrong, since then I have been back into the old account to see if there had been anything changed by the advisor, I could see meals (randomly selected) in the basket but no delivery date so thought that all was good and that I wouldn't be charged for anything and I wasn't receiving anything.
I was wrong, I have woken today to a text message from the courier to say my delivery is out for today. I have checked my bank account and Hellofresh have taken the money out my bank for another box that I never ordered!
I called hellofresh helpline within minutes only to be told that 1) it's too late the cancel which is why I'm being charged. 2) as I reactivated my account the deliveries will still continue to come and I'll continue to be charged. 3) I cannot refuse the box as they do not have a returns policy. 4) I have randomly selected meals. 5) they don't email or text to inform you about an upcoming delivery on the text when the courier is delivering. 6) I cannot have a refund because it's too late to cancel. 7) I am apparently still activated so boxes will continue to be sent and charged THIS HAS NOW BEEN DEACTIVATED! The caller conned me, put me in such a panic that the only reason I signed back in the account was to make sure all was ok. I didn't see anything that said if I sign in it's confirmation that I am reactivating and entering into a new agreement!
I didn't deactivate because I didn't know I had reactivated.
I just want my money back and the food gone and never have to deal with a company like this again.
Beware when using and especially when they call you!
Absolutely atrocious customer service and understanding.
Started the subscription like everyone does with the promotional price. Was excited for the first box to turn up but it never did. Yodel (notoriously bad courier) delivered it to someone else's house and took a picture of a completely different door. Eventually got a refund for that order as it was missing and was told to promotional price would be honoured on our next box.
After this we were going away for 2.5 weeks overseas so we paused the box for 2 weeks (their longest pause period) and we were going to log on while away and postpone for a third week. Only, when we logged in abroad we were unable to access the website so I could not postpone nor could I cancel. So upon landing back in the UK, I had seen a FULL priced box had been taken from my account (not the originally agreed promotional price). I contacted customer service this morning only to be met with a sarcastic agent called Tina who basically told me it was my fault as this is a "self-managing" service and it was my fault that I could only postpone for their super short 2 week window and that I couldn't access the website abroad. Completely immoveable on anything refund/pause/changed delivery date related. Their system is built to trip you up by only allowing you to pause it for 2 weeks, and by also not allowing to you access the website from elsewhere in the world. Honestly appelled at the way Tina spoke to me, the things she inferred, and how sarcastic she was. I will now be cancelling my account and never using this service again, contacting trading standards, and ensuring that I make as much noise as I can to as many people as I can to avoid using to this company. Save the headache and order from Gusto.
Ate the chicken when it came last night. Up with food poisoning since 3 am. Canceled future orders and threw out 2 remaining meals.
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
