Hello Fresh wins hands down. Meals are picture perfect, well planned, delicious and easy to prepare.
I've been a subscriber of Hello Fresh for several years. I used to think they were a reputable company. NOT anymore. My recent experience has led me to believe that HS has incorporated some very shady and dishonest practices. Hello Fresh emailed me a 50% off coupon. I went on their website to choose my 3 meals, but when I went to check out, I found that the 50% off coupon was not applied. I then went on HF's chat line and the agent assured me the coupon would work. It didn't. I then went on chat 5 more times, each time I was told the coupon would work, but it didn't. Completely aggravated, I tried to cancel the order because the coupon didn't work. I went back on Chat AGAIN and demanded that my order be cancelled. The agent wrote that my order was cancelled and I would not receive a box. I took a picture of the written chat conversation cancelling my order 5 days later I received a Hello fresh meal box, and found I was charged full price. I called them twice to request a refund. The agents were very rude and refused to provide a refund. Now I have 3 meals I didn't choose and didn't want and I had to pay full price. Hello fresh lied about the 50% coupon, lied multiple times telling me the coupon was valid, and lied about cancelling my order. They then used my credit card to charge me full price. Hello fresh refuses to take any responsibility for their dishonesty. Their goal was to send me a meal box and charge me full price. It was all a scam. I cancelled my membership and will never order from them again. There are numerous complaints about HF online. If you are considering becoming a subscriber of HF, you might want to spend some time reading reviews. Hello fresh sucks people in with their offers. Then they ignore you if there are issues and they will find ways to rip you off. They are a very shady company.
We started with one of the 29.95 offer. We decided we did not want to receive any further deliveries. Once we our box we did enjoy the meals. So, on November 5 we decided to reactivate our orders. That same afternoon I received a phone call from Hello Fresh offering us a $10 discount to activate our account. I explained to the rep that I had just reactivated my account.
The rep continued on about giving us the discount. Of course I accepted. We discussed the delivery for the week of November 20 delivery. I told him we did not want the delivery. He asked if we wanted to donate the delivery. I said yes.
Now onto week of November 13 we have received two boxes. I called Hello Fresh to find out why we received two boxes this week. We have six meals setting in our refrigerator. The rep said we re-activated two accounts. I tried too explain to hear what happened. But, she would not listen. She kept saying I understand but you activated to accounts. She did agree that one of the accounts shows next as donated. Again, I said I did not activate two accounts. She did not and would not listen.
I asked to speak with a manager. The Team Lead got on the phone and again I explained the situation. She did not hesitate and came back with "You activated two accounts." I tried to ask question about the person that called me. She said a Hello Fresh Team member as no access to my account information. She than kept saying "is there anything else I can help you with."
I asked for a manager. She said there is not a manager available. I kept pushing the subject. She then came back with "I do not have the capabilities to transfer you too someone else. " I was very upset now. The team lead fed me a line. I am being bulldozed and I do not like it.
I should not have too pay for Hello Fresh's mistake.
I had an absolutely dreadful experience with HelloFresh. I was initially curious about their service and decided to fill out the form with my credit card information but never completed the purchase. I quickly changed my mind and canceled the account and the delivery within minutes of signing up. HelloFresh still went ahead and charged my account, and they delivered a box to me five days later. At that point, I thought maybe I hadn't canceled it correctly, so I accepted the delivery. However, when I opened the box, there was nothing but bags of expired vegetables and spices. There was absolutely no meat included, and the quality of the ingredients was abysmal. They didn't even provide all the ingredients necessary to make the meals they had promised. I immediately called their customer service for a refund. The representative I spoke to was not only unhelpful but shockingly rude. I explained the situation, detailing how I had canceled within minutes of signing up, but he stubbornly insisted that I had to cancel within five days, of which I did. He even had the audacity to argue that the first day didn't count, which is absurd. When I requested to speak to a manager, he outright refused to transfer my call. To my disbelief, during our conversation, a frustrated expletive slipped from my mouth due to the sheer frustration of the situation. Instead of addressing the problem at hand, the representative used this as an opportunity to issue me a warning for using profanity. His tone of voice was hostile, unprofessional, and condescending throughout the call. The person representing HelloFresh on the phone lacked basic professionalism and courtesy. I would strongly advise against wasting your time and money on HelloFresh. They will gladly take your money, provide you with inedible, spoiled produce, and fail to deliver on their promises. The customer service experience was nothing short of a nightmare, and I am utterly disgusted by my overall encounter with this company.
I spent 5 hours on the phone with them because they charged me for a box I never received. I never got my money back.
They force you to take boxes after you cancel their junk! BEWARE! You can buy this stuff at wal mart
I cancelled my policy after I found a better company, but they still charged me for the first order. I inquired about a refund, and they did nothing.
Their food are not good when I eat them on last weekend. I think they can do better! Come on, i still like you!

Hello Fresh charged our PayPal account, that we used once 2 years ago, without our consent and sent us a box of meals we DID NOT order and could not eat! We called consumer service to ask how this happened and for a credit to be applied to our credit card. We talked to a woman in the Philippines who could barely speak English. She told us that we could not receive a refund so we asked for a supervisor. When we finally talked to the supervisor (also from the Philippines), he also told us that we could not get our money back. He told us the meals were chosen for us at 3:59 am (U.S. Time) and charged to our PayPal account. We told him that the credit card Hello Fresh Charged was no longer on our PayPal account, he said, "Well it went through" and refused to issue a credit. This company is worth 2.6 Billion (yes BILLION) and now I see how they've made their money. Please do not click on any links to this company because you will be charged for food you never ordered and you will not be able to close out your account. This has happened to so many people (read the reviews). I am also attaching a link to a reviews from the Better Business Bureau with similar experiences.

Good experience but not perfect. The ingredients have not the best quality. It took a long time to prepare and clean the kitchen!

Initially I wanted to see their menu options which I couldn't see to do without creating an account which required a credit card. I didn't even get to their menu before giving up but apparently their trap had already been set. So I woke up the next morning having been charged for an order that I didn't place. I was only on their site long enough to get frustrated (maybe 5 min). I used the chat function to request a refund and express frustration which timed out after 30 seconds. I told them I had no intention on ordering from them but they never mentioned I would need to cancel the reoccurring orders. They did refund me for the first order which was the discounted promotion at that time. Another surprising charge a week later. I called in to find out that this charge was too later to cancel although it was the same amount of time I called to cancel the first charge and that this order was already processing. They could change the menu items but not cancel which I don't believe. Then they didn't care that the previous rep didn't tell me I needed to cancel my account to avoid further charges although I told him I had no intention on ordering anything and only wanted to look at the menu. Asked for a manager to call back which was a supervisor who was at the beach or outside somewhere. I could hear the wind in on her side of the line and asked if she was at the beach and she acted like she didn't know where the wind noise was coming from. I told her I have never received terms and conditions or order invoices or any communication from their company which I'm sure they avoid doing to inform customers that they are trapped. According to their terms if you don't select what you want they will send you randomly meals which you don't pick. Charge will be disputed with my CC company!
Easy, and convenient every time. I will keep trying for more. But for now I believe to recommend it for anyone looking for the best.
I just received 3 meals with no meat included. I am unable to fix these meals. These meals take much more prep time than described.
We started using Hello Fresh in the beginning of May, 2017. Because I'm not home during the day I had it shipped to my business address. The first several deliveries were great. They arrived in the mornings and I was able to refrigerate them until it was time to head home. Unfortunately, the deliveries became more and more problematic. They now have serious problems with their delivery service. The box that arrived last week was left in the direct sunlight (the carrier just left it outside the front door of the business, never letting anyone know it was there) - the ice packs melted but luckily the food remained cool. When yesterday's shipment had not yet arrived by 3:00 pm. I contacted the company via their on line customer service chat because it was so late and after waiting quite a long time the customer service rep who was supposedly helping me suddenly left the chat without helping at all. I tried back and the second person was more helpful but told me the box should arrive by 9:00 pm! I told him that the company where it is delivered closes at 6:00. If that wasn't bad enough I told him that I had planned it for that evening's dinner! He asked if I had indicated that the box was being delivered to a business when I'd first signed up which I had. When the box hadn't arrived by 6:00 I left. I was told it would then be delivered today. As of now (3:20 pm) it has not arrived. This box of "fresh" food has now been out for delivery for over 32 hours. I'm sure the food has spoiled since the trucks are not refrigerated and it's about 90* here. I'm cancelling and am going to give Blue Apron a try. The food was good but if it doesn't arrive when expected it's not a good option at all.
I ordered from them in I didn't receive the product they promised I didn't get my money back. Never order from this company.

The food is ok they just cram and smash the food in to small boxes if the food doesn't fit put in a bigger box. The presentation is horrible

Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
