First off, their customer service & offers on those survey sites are worse than terrible. I tried the "special offers" (get 14 days for FREE! Deal) & then I saw the menu when I selected "pescatarian" - only one meal had fish and everything was ALL VEGETARIAN - I AM NOT VEGAN! Okay…so I called to cancel and that lady COULD NOT find my account even though I had email confirmation! Apparently, if ur Apple ID was used it disguises ur actual apple email account name. Nevertheless, and even tho I received a cancellation notice, Hello Fresh continued billing my account TWICE! Then I called 3x before getting a really nice, knowledgeable customer service rep who cancelled it AGAIN but she said since to late to stop the scheduled box I received the box and inside, every since recipe was vegetarian, only one had any fish in it! I AM BEYOND PISSED! I do not like all this vegan stuff and it takes up space in my fridge. I HATE to throw out food but I don't eat 90% of these! I will NEVER use or try HELLO FRESH EVER again! Their tropes are horrible too!
They have sent me zero protein! For example:

Just a bit of our history, I have been responsible for meals for 42 years, and after our kids flew the nest I have struggled to cook for two with no waste. I finally threw up the white flag as I was throwing away half of what I spent a week. I also just never could come up with delicious recipes for two. I started trying different plans. What a nightmare of flavorless food I have found before stumbling on to HelloFresh!
I was not thrilled with having to actually prepare it, after trying various heat and eat meals I learned a little effort makes the difference. The half hour cooking meals usually take me 40 minutes but now I appreciate this option as there is no comparison!
First thing I noticed is the quality of fresh fruit and veggies you receive. You will not find this quality anywhere the public can buy because I shop for quality everywhere and never find anything similar. The recipes are to die for... scrumptious, fresh food that is just like eating in high end restaurants at a much lower cost. The no waste feature of their plan has saved me at least $100 a week, not to mention the time and headache of trying to think of "what to cook for dinner tonight" which was the first thing that popped in my head upon awakening every morning. I am also learning new recipes and the simplicity of just cooking fresh, wholesome, simple foods that are full of flavor! Each meal has been so well balanced my hubby and I do not snack all night like we use to trying to satisfy our hunger or taste buds. The proportions are generous, we never leave the table unsatisfied! I look forward to dinner now where it use to be the biggest dread of my day! Thank you Hello Fresh for your phenomenal meals and plans that fit our budgets! You have customers for life as I can not imagine not having this amazing service! Thank you!

These JOKERS, Conveneintly, forgot to enclose nearly 1 WHOLE Meal Kit! The ONLY ingredients they supplied for Pork Strips in Oyster Sauce... was 1 very small pk of Jasmine Rice, 1 Carrot, 1 Tiny Pk of Crushed Nuts & a tiny splash of sweet chilli sauce! The PORK, OYSTER SAUCE and 90% of the ingredients for THIS MEAL... were MISSING!
Even WORSE... they REFUSE to Re-deliver, and Told Me, to "just go out and buy the ingredient yourself! The Ingredients that I had ALREADY PAID FOR (In Advance), with NO Refund offered!
Then... after arguing with them... they decided to offer me a $13 discount on my Next NON Discounted/NON Rewarded/ FULL Priced Box (as IF, I would EVER Trust Them Again) after relaying my thoughts and arguing for 15 mins... they gave me a Pathetic $29 refund, BUT... I Still had to go WITHOUT the food I ordered and PAID FOR, that Hello refresh are CONTRACTED to SUPPLY & DELIVER!

I received a marketing flyer from your company stating we could sign up for 17 free meals and feee shipping and free tote... ( code RH - LESGW)... but after talking to your rep and online... we are told they are not free and we are being charged for all the meals ( we would get a % off each shipment) equaling approximately $30 or more... The Hello Fresh customer rep said that is "just the way it is- and that is the way the promotion works". He said he couldn't do anything about it and it was a marketing promo to get people to sign up... I asked for a manager ( and I was very calm and not rude to him - cause I know - he didn't make up the promo) but he said he couldn't transfer me or send a message to management - because I didn't have an account number to reference... I told him I was attempting to become a new customer- but he said it didn't matter... I asked for a call back - he finally said he would take me email address and then before I could give it to him he hung up...
All this to say Hello Fresh is a scam and this is a clear case of "bait and switch" marketing... which I will be filing a grievance with the BBB

I received this from HelloFresh. The meat had a "gash" in the packaging and was tainted. The potatoes were blackened. I cancelled immediately.
I am honestly shocked that the reviews are so high. I ordered a meal on the 5th of October because of a special promotion they had. The payment came out immediately and I received the food. After ordering, I could tell by the food options that I would not be continuing this service again. However, they charged my card almost 3x the original amount I had paid. I was confused, since I never selected any food. I called the company and was informed that it was a weekly subscription and if I don't place an order, they choose my food for me. This is outrageous considering they never asked for food allergies, only a very generic option that asked if I eat meat, vegetarian, and vegan. I do not eat beef or pork, so it made it difficult to pick my food the first time, which is why I did not plan on re-ordering. Although they had just charged my card a day prior they insisted that they could not cancel the order because it has to be canceled 5 days prior. I received no emails prompting me to choose a meal for the week or any notification of the food they selected. They have refused to issue a refund even though I told them I will not be accepting any food that I have not chosen. This process honestly feels like a bait and switch, which is very unfortunate. I may have considered using this company in the future before this incident, but now I will NEVER purchase from Hello Fresh again. My mom has even been telling friends about the food and convenience before they charged me again. Now, she is contacting her friends back and prompting them not buy from this company. Hello Fresh has an amazing idea, it is sad that they have turned to tacky bait and switch tactics to sell their products. This is not sustainable and will be the downfall of this company.

My first box was ok, there were a few items missing that made making the recipes difficult, but overall the food was okay. (I do recommend selecting your own meals, otherwise the defaults are super cheap options that you could do for cheaper yourself).

However, the order continued for another week (mainly my fault, I was so busy with work, I forgot to check it), but it was due to be delivered on a Thursday, I was going away that morning.
So I phoned Hello Fresh 3 days before the delivery date, and asked them to cancel, divert, or delay - otherwise it would be sat outside the gates, rotting for a week.
HelloFresh are not sustainable, environmentally friendly, or interested in helping those in need/charities:
After trying for 10 minutes to find an option (I don't have friends or family in the area, I live remotely), I suggested that I don't even want the money back, or an alternative delivery date. I just wanted them to keep the box, not deliver it at all, or please divert to a food bank or other place that needs it more than I do. I didn't want the money back at this point, I just didn't want to see all this food go to waste when it could go to a much better use.
However, HelloFresh said no, we can't do that; we cannot cancel, delay, divert, or give it to a charity who needs it. We will deliver it in 3 days time and unfortunately you will just have to leave it there.
I think this is disgusting when they preach that the whole point of a cut off date is to prevent wasted food. I was offering for them to keep my £28, but give the food to a worthy cause, and they couldn't do that. They do not care.
They will not refund in case of a misunderstanding. I cannot eat the meals being sent so it will be a waste.

We tried hello fresh but we didn't like it. The reasons are simple, ingredients weren't fresh, the package of meats were damaged and the liquid got everywhere; the ingredients we received were mostly old, even the signs of getting rotten. Obviously we contacted the customer service, but it was the worst customer service I've ever had. That person was cold-blooded and showed no signs of sympathy. I asked for refunds but the reply we got was "talk to Groupon" (and yes, we tried HelloFresh cuz Groupon had a deal). Both of my husband and I were upset but we thought at least we learned our lessons and we thought we were done with HelloFresh.
However, we were too naive. My husband and I are currently on vacation overseas, I got calls from a similar phone numbers and no-call-ids, when the same phone number showed up again I decided to pick up, and it was HelloFresh and asking about the experience. I straightly told the girl what happened and we will not give another try. I thought I was clear, but my husband started to receive calls from HelloFresh, after he showed no interested in purchasing the meals, he started getting calls from a no show id, and it was HelloFresh. Since then, both of us have been receiving spam calls from HelloFresh. IT IS EXTREMELY UPSETTING.
If you're want to try out HelloFresh, I really hope my review can help you to see a different light.

Ordered first 3 meals and found a large dirty piece of plastic sealed inside the broccoli bag. Gave us an $8 refund. Poor customer service.
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
