I wouldn't give them any stars except you cannot post this without it. I hope this deters people from having the same poor experience I did... lesson learned... read hotel sites very carefully as this looked like it was a hotel service! It is nothing more than a scam. They tell you to respond to an email that they don't send. They do not follow up on changes as they say they will. They say they cannot get through to the hotel.
They do know how to charge your card though... they appear legit but certainly are giving hotels a bad name.
This website looks like you're booking directly through the hotel but is in fact a third party site. It charged me a base rate significantly higher than the rate I selected and then added another $100 in fees to my booking. None of this was disclosed until I had my email confirmation. I will be putting a stop payment on my credit card and reporting the site.
It did not show me the hidden fees of over 150 bucks. It said 76 a night then shows after you pay u can't cancel. This is not good. There are no cleaning fees here in California or any other state. They take a credit card for back up if you mess things up. But I was charged almost 200 dollars for this upfront fee. I needed a room for my sons disability to be in a quit cool area. And I just got screwed out of 200 dollars. And im not working due to my disability... your site sucks. You suppose to have it upfront of all costs out here in California. Not hidden.
And now it wants me to add proof. Even though it's got payment information on the receipt. I'll give you my number ******* is the last digits of my reservation number
The most useless company ever. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS WEBSITE. They are an absolute joke. I wish i could leave 0 stars.
I made a mistake when booking my stay at a hotel which I realised a few minutes after booking. I cancelled my booking so i could rebook with the correct dates. THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME A REFUND. Almost £500 down the drain.
I have contacted them a number of times and NO RESPONSE. I am disgusted with this company.
I had one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had with Guest Reservations. They charged me a $225 tax recovery fee that was not disclosed in the subtotal cost. They have you fill out your information and payment info after reviewing the subtotal. It is not until after you confirm payment that you will get a receipt with the additional $225 charge and explanation of the charge. I spoke with 3 customer service representatives, one of which actually hung up on me. I am appalled by the service and the inability to provide me with a resolution.
I experienced the same thing that hundreds of other customers have reported about this company. Following a specific search for the hotel's direct website I was directed to a page that spoofed the hotel's domain appearance, logos, branding, etc.
Trusting that the hotel's legitimate website would not deceptively charge 50% fees at checkout, I buzzed right through the process.
Shame on GuestReservations.com for these intentionally deceptive sales practices.
Even worse than this pathetic company who has calculated ways to overcharge clients for years, with thousands of documented complaints about the tactic is the fact that Google allows this to persist.
A quick review of the hundreds of BBB complaints against this company makes it quite obvious what is going on. Google is choosing to support this practice in exchange for advertising dollars.
It's a shame that people make money by repeating a tactic that is deceptive and calculated, and worse that Google is their accomplice.
Not able to call or contact via website
" I tried to contact via phone and on the website but could not
I recently processed a booking for the holiday inn Newcastle in a hurry as my husband is standing in the rain cold, running out of phone battery and needing somewhere to stay overnight in Australia Newcastle. I did it in such a hurry I didn't realise I had the wrong country.
The card said declined but the $203 was debited from our account!
Can we please be contacted immediately to arrange a refund. I'm sorry for the inconvenience."
Unable to sent this as I didn't have an itinerary number. Phone was no better as it referred me to the hotel who had no record of the booking.
I think we were scammed
Do not use them! They are not affiliated with the hotel at all. They have hidden fees. You enter your credit card info and they don't have the verification page which tells you how much they are charging for! Surprise 70 dollar service fee!
I didn't realize there would be an up charge of $60 for a 2 day reservation of $106. Tax recovery charge and a little padding. Won't be using their services again.
This website leads you to believe you are booking through the hotel website. They offer a very competitive rate, then after you agree to the terms and conditions and go to check out the bill nearly doubles. I booked a room for $84 and you don't see the total until after you pay. My grand total was $133... they state tax, service fee etc... when I went directly to the hotel website for the same room my grand total was $90. I then went to cancel my reservation and of course, it was non refundable per the terms and agreements you have to click to get to the checkout. This is a total scam and they hide everything making you believe you are booking directly through the hotel. There are several BBB complaints siting the same issue. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!
Had to cancel due to an emergency. Was in an accident and not able to attend the retreat that was scheduled in June. Cancelled well in advance. This was not something that I could have prevented and kept the reservations. I am going through several surgeries and a long haul for physical therapy and not able to travel or participate in the retreat. I do not know how you can consciously keep peoples money if not able to keep the reservations. I can understand if I did not show or was late. But 3 month notice? Plenty of notice in advance. I will certainly pass the word around what big crooks you are. One star was the lowest rating I could give you. I wanted to put negative... Does the hotels you cater to know of the scam that you are running?
The Manager of Hampton Inn & Suites in Coconut Creek needs to be removed. My check in took 50 minutes after he promised it would be available shortly in no more than 20 minutes.
Be aware! The price of the rooms on this site may be the same price of the hotel website but the "catch" to say it in a decent way is the "Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees" when you compare it with the real taxes if you would have made the reservation through the hotel it will be more than almost $100 for doing nothing. It is the first website you will find on the browser but this site is a smart trap. Also, they lie about the cancelation policy saying is because of the hotel since the hotel does not even know about the reservation... just do yourself a favor and make sure don't use this dark website.
I thought i was on the hotel site when I made the reservation. They charged outrageous fees that weren't revealed until after I entered my card information. Never again!
BEWARE! Didn't make pricing clear
Service charge & Total only written in small at bottom Before paying
Very exorbitant tax/service charge
For me it was 78% of quoted price added on! Ended up being $106 same room with hotels.com $72!
Refused to cancel just over 5mins after making order with not easy to get live agent customer service line
I cancelled my reservation the same day I made it and a few days later they still haven't refunded me. I called to talk to someone and there is only an automated message that was completely unhelpful.
I was looking for prices to book a hotel in South Africa. On guestreservations.com the best price came out.
A sponsored adverisement on Google. The price was lower than the official price on the website of the hotel that i wanted to book. It said in big letters: JACKPOT, "you just found the best price on the net".
I proceeded the booking with my credit card and then only found out that they had increased the indicated price by +/- 50%! While paying in tiny letters the real final amount was indicated! They called it 'tax recovery costs'. I couldn't believe the way they make business, by misleading and cheating on the potential customer. The prices then also were suddenly calculated in US Dollars instead of in Rand.
SCAM! Please NEVER BOOK with this fraudulent company!
I made a reservation for a Best Western Hotel through this website. When I went back to try and modify it they said they couldn't modify my reservation and that my only option was to cancel the whole reservation and I would have to pay the full amount even though I was trying to modify this four days ahead of time. They said they have no 24 hour cancellation policy, once you've paid you're stuck with paying the full amount even if you want to modify the nights that you've booked. This is total BS.
They make it seem like your on the website of the hotel your trying to book with. But if you see guest reservations get off that page. They will charge you outrageous fees and refuse to cancel or modify the reservation. Use the hotel your looking for website they will be cheaper than guest reservations.com for sure and at least you have the option to cancel or modify your reservations with the hotels.
