This website offers free cancellation and it is a complete scam, they won´t let you cancel and you will get no refund. If you try to cancell you WILL get stuck in a loop with ther automated bot that is the "customer service representative".
Do no book with them they designed their webpage to make you believe its the actual hotel... I lost almost $ 400.00
I hate to admit it, but I got duped by these people. They will book your room, but will OVER charge you for it. On a recent trip I booked a room through guestreservations.com, where they told me there was, "only one room left...". We just searched on our phone will driving, and at the time we didn't realize they were a 'scam'. When we got to the Hampton, we commented about, "... the last room" and the lady at the front desk noted,..."we have 28 rooms available". That was the first 'red-flag'. Upon getting the receipt from Hampton (noting a final bill of $107.56) I was further alarmed, since I had received an email from 'Guest Reservations' with a final bill of $158.16. I then called Hampton, and it all became clear,...'guestReservations' is nothing more than a THIRD party middleMan, MISleading and OVERcharging people. My mistake, lesson learned, but I will NEVER use these people again, period.
PAY ATTENTION to the web url you end up at when you book a room, if it ends up at "guestreservations.com"... STAY AWAY, or you will OVERpay.
For the record, this review is for "guestreservations.com" (Not Hampton Inn, for which I had no issues with this visit)
WARNING: DO NOT USE! I clicked on a "TODAY'S LOW RATE" button, stating a room at the hotel I wanted was A DEAL for $95. I was sad to see it was a room with 2 queen beds instead of 1 king, but whatever, for this price I can handle a queen bed instead of a king. In my email however, the price said $219.81. ($195 fir taxes!?!?!? I don't think so!) When I called to question, they couldn't change my room to a king size bed, or cancel my reservation. So now, I'm stuck with a room with 2 queen beds instead of a king, paying king size price! I could have got a better deal ANYWHERE! Even my AAA or the hotel site prices are better.
This place is deceiving! The site looks like the hotel website. I only realized it wasn't the hotel website when I tried to cancel. They lie when you call customer service and do not cancel with the hotel until you are out of the hotels cancellation policy!
DO NOT USE THIS BOOKING COMPANY. Thought I was booking through the hotel website but was not didn't become aware until after booking. Made it impossible to change reservation. Hampton Inn should not use this website. Customer service just reads standard line. Website says and on phone options says you can change booking but you cannot.
Guest Reservations has misleading business practices. The format of their website seems to be purposefully designed to lead people into being overcharged without their knowledge. All of the information the customers need is technically there, but it's strategically placed in locations that are easy to miss. Information such as cancellation policies, exorbitant fees, etc. is tucked away inside of a link in the Terms and Conditions (which, studies show, only 1% of customers actually read) or in small print in a side bar as far away as possible from the "submit payment" button. It's simply not believable that they are a transparent company as they claim in responses to complaints. A transparent company would make both their policies and fees as clear as possible to the customer.
If this company was interested in being transparent, surely hundreds of complaints on BBB would urge some kind of change to inform customers upfront about the costs and terms of their reservations. In fact, most trustworthy companies already do this. Tripadvisor, another third party booking company, offers a fee total in bold, bright letters in line with all important information and warns customers not once, but twice if the charge is non-refundable. None of this important information is shoved off to the side in tiny print because Tripadvisor is a reputable company. Guest Reservations is not.
I erroneously booked a hotel room for a traveling nurse through Guest Reservations and in addition to up charging the room, I had to displeasure of contacting their customer service line to cancel the room due to the nurse becoming ill. I had to wait on hold for an abnormally long time and had to defend my case vigorously just to get the room cancelled and a refund. Please avoid this company at all cost and book through the hotel directly or use a more reputable company.
They are using deceptive practices and when you confront them they laugh in your face telling you there's nothing you can do! A room that I booked for $60 they charged me $105. A bunch of thieves.
Consumer Club, Inc. d/b/a/ Getaroom.com, a Texas registered company with a business address, 3010 LBJ Freeway, Suite 1500, Dallas, Texas *******
I thought i was booking a room though Hilton. They are using Hilton name in their URL. I booked a room for $166 and clicked on complete booking button. They did not show me final cost. When i got the reservation email, the cost was $234. I asked Hilton front desk how much the room cost after all taxes and fees. It was $180. So this fraudulent company added $50 fees on top without giving me the chance to accept the charge. I could not cancel the reservation. I am putting a formal complaint about them to the Hilton company and BBB.
They misrepresent themselves as hotel. They over charge. They are a scam and a fraud. BBB should shut them down. Disgusting. Should be minus stars
Online shows the name of the hotel I wanted with. Guest reservations. Thought I was going to that hotels site. WRONG. This is a company that charges outrageous fees on top of normal room rates. Fees are not disclosed at time until total went up with confirmation. No stars for guest reservation company!
This company acts like they are the hotel. Price was $30 cheaper than the booking sites. Called asked questions, he just said what I wanted to hear. Went to book and $149 room was $230. When I asked he said that is because of all the taxes. I said there must be an error and asked him to check. He kept making excuses. Thank goodness I cancelled and did not complete. Expedia was $201 total with all fees.
Stayed in May and I forgot my glasses I only use at night. Sent them a prepaid return envelope with case plus tip. After 2 weeks they sent envelope not sealed back with no glasses. They are lost. Management irresponsible. The bathroom had blood on the floor, coffee pot was dirty and the microwave plug had short cord we could not plug in. Stay here only because it's cheap but prepare to bring cleaning stuff and double check the room before you leave.
This company is not a reputable business. Unlike every other reputable travel company, this company refuses to allow a customer to correct an error even when the error is reported within a few minutes of the error taking place by phone.
I booked through guestreservations.com and approximately 1/3 of my total room charges were "tax charges and other service fees." I called customer service to get an explanation of these charges. The representative said she couldn't tell me what the charges were from. When I pressed her on not being able to explain to me the charges, she hung up on me. I called back. The 2nd representative basically told me the same thing - that they could tell give me a breakdown of my "tax recovery charges and service fees." the line items refers to "see details below. But there are no details below. This appears to be a scam. I will never use this website again to book reservations again. Unfortunately, I lose. Too late to cancel.
Do not book thru them. My price per night was 57.00 and my charge was 91.33. I thought I was getting the hotels actual site. Beware of this better to call hotel directly.
Thought I was booking direct with hotel. My error. I booked a $120 room for 2 nights and this "service" added $134.96 in service and recovery fees (whatever that is). So be forewarned. They are going to rip you off. And you won't know it until the whole booking is processed and complete. I complained at the hotel and the assistant manager gave me her card and said to just call me next time.
It would have been cheaper to book my rooms directly through the motel than this service and save almost $200 per room in fees that they called taxes, what a scam.
This place scams people they are horrible they will make u spend hours in the phone playing around trying to discourage you from staying on the phone trying to clarify a situation!, they had me on the phone for almost 3 hours and they made me call over 6 times!, they treat costumers horrible!, because once they have your money they don't care anymore!, my worst experience so far in my lifetime has been with this corporation!
$263 "tax recovery charges & service fees" was charged to my credit card without my permission, added to hotel room charge of $539, WITHOUT DISCLOSING TO ME, after I hung up the phone. It was never mentioned nor approved.

Answer: I feel your pain. What's sad is that this company is an affiliate of Expedia
