This is my second order from Grove and I'm pretty impressed with the products. They're not extremely high and you're helping the environment so that's good. The only problem I have so far, is that I ordered these trash cans on clearance for $25. But they're not trash cans or recycling cans they're more like bins. I'm not going to return them but I won't be ordering anything else for a while.

Another auto-ship subscription scam. Decent products, but you have to agree to auto-ship subscription to buy anything. Just let consumers buy stuff. Don't bury the small print and sign people up for an expensive subscription services without their knowledge. You also can't change your payment method online, you have to call them. I despise companies that don't allow full user control via their site. This screams of scamming.

I don't believe I have had issues. I have a subscription, but it is never sent unless it is for a certain amount of money. They always send a reminder e-mail, so I can log in and update my cart if I need to. This means that I will only receive a shipment when I need the items. It's been a few months since my last shipment, but today I received a reminder and logged in to update my cart. Next month, I will receive the items I need. It is very convenient. I also love that they have Mrs Meyers products. I can get the special edition soaps like peppermint and daisy!

I've been using Grove since Oct. Of 2020. I see a lot of bad reviews here and have to say I've never had an issue with them. I find their products to be on par with any other non-Grove company. The prices have always been reasonable, and I actually like the auto-ship. I get an email and app notification a week before my ship date, reminding me to make sure my cart has what I need. This has been incredibly helpful because there are times when I don't realize I need something and I can add it real quick, or there are times when I find I have a surplus, and I just swipe to push it to the next shipment.

As far as them adding products to the cart without my consent, I will say that the first purchase I made was everything I put in the cart. The second order (aka the FIRST auto ship order), there were things added, but I believe it was because I was brand new and they were making suggestions. I understand how that is definitely not the best way way to "make suggestions", but I guess it didn't bother me because I just removed them. My mom recently signed up for Grove as well, and she had the same thing happen. However, after that initial time, it's never happened since. Once you have your set monthly subscriptions, they don't try to "be helpful" again, that I know of.

If your order is at least $35 on your auto ship, you get to choose a free gift. If you order $55, you can choose between the $35 free gift, or another gift. If you spend over $99, you get another option, and you can choose one of the three.

As far as the free gifts go, I recently had an order ship, and maybe a week later I went to the app and checked my next order because I needed to add something. I selected my gift, however, by the time that next order shipped, I didn't get a free gift because they had changed the gifts and I hadn't selected one of the new ones. The default option when the gifts change, is "no gift", so it's always important to check your cart as soon as you get that notification that it will ship soon.

Because I can understand how the automatic adding of products to your first autoship could easily be missed and someone ends up paying far more than they intended, and because you can miss your free gift if your timing isn't right, I give the company 4 stars. But I have to say, I've never been upset about their products. I still HIGHLY recommend them. Since the auto adding of items on your first shipment seems to be the biggest culprit in their bad reviews, I think if they stopped doing that, they would get much better ratings.

Tip for consumers:
After your initial order, your first AUTOSHIP order will have added items that Grove suggests. If you don't check the cart as soon as you get the notification that your order ship soon (usually about a week before you're charged) you will be charged for those items, so be sure to remove them if you don't want them. After that, they won't automatically add products.

I love every item I've received from The Grove. Shipments have always arrived on time and in great condition. My only problem is reaching them. My app crashes every time I try to open it. Links in their emails crash as well. It's becoming a problem and I can find no phone number or email address to reach out to about these problems.

Tip for consumers:
Ask they why their app might crash & how to reach a human being...then pass on the info (at least to me!!

Grove cleaning products, glass dispensers, silicone cuffs for glass bottles, TP, toilet cleaner, multi surface spray, glass cleaner, bar hand soap, liquid hand soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry det. Etc

I love having home products delivered and the prices are good. The value for VIP program is great too. Would have given 5 stars except for 2 things -
1) The packing materials seem not so eco-friendly.
2) The ratio for the concentrated hand soap is hard to figure out of you aren't using their special bottle. Please print the water-to-concentrate ratio on the bag!

I have been a Grove customer for about 2 years, maybe 3? It started off really great, especially once I got the hang of checking my products with "subscriptions" so I wouldn't keep getting things I didn't need restocked yet. It is super smooth now. The shipping is several days longer now than it used to be (maybe pandemic related with more online orders). However, my biggest complaint is that in the last several months, I have consistently had issues with items in my order either being missing or spilled. Once, the issue was fixed by an account credit. The next time, I got no response. And the most recent time, I didn't didn't bother reaching out because I had already reached out a few times recently and the product not included was a "free with $x order" product. Since I started with Grove, not receiving the free item with minimum purchase has happened multiple times. I would say Grove is great MOST of the time, but expect to frequently be missing items. Their customer service is also *usually* good, despite the nonexistent response recently with a leaking product (cap was not on all the way, and UPS had box upside down).

I wish Grove had more zero waste products. Way too much plastic. I now use Savon de Marseille soap to clean my entire house.

I will preface this by saying that I have had a good time with my first two orders from Grove. I had seen their ads on facebook and after multiple trips to the supermarket and big box stores, I have been unable to find basic cleaning products due to pandemic hoarding. Usually what is left is the ultra expensive organic options or the ultra cheap options that might as well be made of water. I've also wanted to be more in charge of my environmental footprint.

There is no such thing as a free lunch, so I did my due diligence and looked up other reviews and how the VIP service works before signing up for the free $30 Mrs. Myers kit with the caddy, dish soap, hand soap, and all purpose cleaner. The VIP auto ship service sends items on a recurring basis, and you can add or remove items, change ship frequency, and it also adds recommends items to your auto ship cart as well.

I think this is where Grove is upsetting people. I think $20 for a year of VIP (free shipping) is a good price, but why would I need a new bottle of toilet cleaner every single month, like it recommended? The same for a 45ct of laundry powder packs, I'd have to do 1.5 loads of laundry a day for a month to use an entire bag. The recommended auto-ship frequency needs to be lowered for many of the items, otherwise people are going to be upset that they are being sent these items so often and cancel their service. This either implies that the products aren't as good as typical store brands and you need to use more to get a similar effect, or that Grove is trying to sell you more than you need, which is a bad look for a company saying it wants to be sustainable.

Overall, the product selection is good, and they allow on-site reviews so help you decide if you want to get a product, but you need to be diligent and look through your subscription items and subscription frequency if Grove isn't going to tweak its system to recommend better auto ship frequencies.

Tip for consumers:
If you sign up for a free kit, make sure you look at BOTH your VIP cart and subscription pages and add/remove items you don't want to be automatically sent again, or change the auto ship frequency for each item. This will reduce unwanted shipments.

So I'm reading all of the complaints here about shady business practices and how their customer service is bad and that's interesting to me. I, like most everyone on here, started using Grove because of the Mrs. Meyer's offer. They asked that I try out their VIP plan free for 2 months and sign up for recurring shipments. I read the fine print carefully and purchased the $20 worth of products to make sure I qualified for the offer. Then I think I might have bought 1 more order then I cancelled the membership before the 2 months was up without an issue. Even after I cancelled the membership I had an issue with one of the items I bought and they replaced it, no questions asked, plus they gave me a credit to use (I think $15) if I wanted it.
Another month or so went by and I started getting offers from Grove again to come back and give them another chance. I think they gave me $20 plus 2 or 3 free items and another 2 months of free VIP access. I decided to go ahead and try it again because there was nothing to lose at this point. And my previous was still there when I started back. All the orders ship free with the $20 minimum plus I was getting a lot of free items to try when I got each new box. It was great. After the 2 months was over, I let them charge me for the VIP membership.
For the most part, I've stopped receiving the extra gifts that used to come with my orders, which I used to love. But I've been a member for a year now and I figure that's reserved for newer customers. I've had issues with things that I've purchased and shipping sometimes, but they ALWAYS take care of it, no matter how small. They even read the reviews people leave for their products! I reviewed a bucket and complained because the 2 they sent were both dented and the next day I was contacted by customer care and given a $15 credit for my trouble.

Now the thing that annoys the hell out of me about this company and their app. When you purchase something from Grove it automatically goes into subscription mode. Grove doesn't expressly tell you that, but the next month whatever items you purchased the month before "magically" appear in your basket. If you don't check, or forget to look at it for some reason, EVERY SINGLE THING YOU'VE EVER BOUGHT will appear in your basket and it WILL ship to you. I can't tell you how many times I removed everything from my basket only to have it show up again the next month. I finally sent them a scathing email about it and they told me about the "subscriptions" page. So I have to remember to click on the cog and check to see if there's anything on there that I don't want shipped to me every month. It's a huge hassle. Subscribing to Grove items should be a CHOICE, not an automatic response when I put something in my basket. Plus if it's the first time I'm ordering that item/product, I don't even know if I'll like it. And even if I do, who knows if I'll use often enough to need it monthly?

But I really can't say enough about how responsive their customer service is, no matter what the problem might be, they get back to me fast and always have a solution. Overall I've really enjoyed the VIP membership and at $20 a year, I think it's a good value, especially when you consider that this company is using their platform to spread awareness about environmental issues and planting trees. They're trying to help make the world a better place, not just line their pockets and that's something I can feel good about.

I've been using Grove Collaborative for several months now. I love the design of the website and I love the products they sell. Whenever I get a shipment, I actually WANT to do housecleaning! That said, part of the VIP Membership is having an autoship order. Autoship is super flexible and you can change it, delay it or pause it at any time. But if you are a forgetful type, just keep an eye on your autoship date and the order items because otherwise you may get shipments you didn't expect or didn't want. Great company, great products, just pay attention to autoship to make sure you only get what you want when you want it!

Love the choices that you have but would love more all over body moisturizers. Something like Cetaphil/CeraVe/ Aveeno cream in a pound jar. I am trying the Weleda Body Butter in April. I will let you know how I like it. Also, would love some all natural make ups, mascara and such.

I came upon Grove.co probably on an online ad. They have a wide choice of more environmentally safe products for cleaning. So I ordered a bunch of products. However, right at the end of my order, I noticed that auto-shipping of my order would occur. If there is one thing I HATE, IT IS AUTO SHIPPING THAT I DO NOT WANT!
Auto shipping has cost me so much money, time, and grief in the past that I carefully read EVERYTHING before buying.
However, I have to say that when I contacted Customer Service after noticing the auto shipping component, she immediately helped me in cancelling the future shipments.
Therefore, I was happy with this company.
On the other hand, Customer Service did tell me that the company runs on regular shipments of products. So know that in advance.
