This is my second order from Grove and I'm pretty impressed with the products. They're not extremely high and you're helping the environment so that's good. The only problem I have so far, is that I ordered these trash cans on clearance for $25. But they're not trash cans or recycling cans they're more like bins. I'm not going to return them but I won't be ordering anything else for a while.
Another auto-ship subscription scam. Decent products, but you have to agree to auto-ship subscription to buy anything. Just let consumers buy stuff. Don't bury the small print and sign people up for an expensive subscription services without their knowledge. You also can't change your payment method online, you have to call them. I despise companies that don't allow full user control via their site. This screams of scamming.
The biggest turn off and why I stopped buying on their site is that everything you order gets thrown back into your cart for a monthly refill whether you need it or want it or not. So you have to remove these items every single time. You only learn this after they auto bill you for the order.
Next issue is the products are great and a fail depending on which, for example, their spray bottles are a great idea but they don't spray half the time. Spray nozzles have worked perfectly for decades and they an't get that right?
Too many other options to buy from these days so if it isn't easy, why bother? And I don't.
Sounds like Grove has a great mission and I wish them success. I thought it was weird to see their "European Hand towel" with a "made in China" label. I don't use enough product to warrant monthly delivery. I live near Target where I can purchase as needed. I feel the Grove passion so I will give 3 stars. Need more product offerings for me to return. Thank you!

Body and hand soap, hand towel. They offered $20 of free product (TP, tissue etc) for a $20 purchase so I tried them - happy with the transaction.
Hi there,
Have been with Grove for 2 years. Grove notes that they are committed to becoming plastic free yet many of their products continue to come in plastic bottles and their cloths are 80% polyester and 20% polyamides? Is Grove just another gimmick playing on people's desires to become environmentally responsible while continuing to do the same as any other company? If they can't truly stand up to their pledge to protect the environment how are they any different than any other brand name cleaning product company?
Tip for consumers:
They will tell you that it's not in their hands to completely be plastic free but the truth is that clothes don't have to be polyester at all they could be organic cotton. Plastic bottles could be substituted with compostable plastic or come as a powder in a paper packet. There is no reason for this outside of a lack of effort to stick to ideology due to profits coming first.
Products used:
Multiple cleaning products half of which are not in line with environmental policies.

When I first started Grove I had no real problems. Recently there is something wrong with their shipping. It seems they make the shipping label but the item never gets shipped. The first time they told me it was lost in the mail, no big deal it was reshipped right away, the very next order it happened again. Customer service was very responsive and polite and reissued the box again right away along with a credit to my account. It's 3 days later ( email said it will go out in 24-48 hours) and the tracking number still says it has not been picked up just like the last 2 boxes.
Reading other reviews u see this is a recurring issue. I think I'm done with Grove, I can find similar products elsewhere
Tip for consumers:
Vip members do get free shipping BUT there is a minimum dollar amount, so if you you don't need much one month, Surprise you have to pay shipping.

Hi Trish, we're so sorry to hear about this frustrating experience. If you wouldn't mind sending us an email including your Grove account email at reviewsupport@grove.co, we'd be happy to look into this and help troubleshoot. Thank you.
I like the idea behind Grove but at times I just feel like a number not a customer. They offer free trial items when you order a certain amount, which I do and NEVER get the freebie. Definitely disappointing! Shipping takes forever and you can't get ahold of anyone. It is time to up their game as there are other options
I wouldn't use again. The product is good but I don't like the add ons. Sneaky. You have to watch your cart.
Hi Tiffany, thank you for taking the time to share this review. Grove is a recurring order shipment service that uses Product Subscriptions to help our customers stay stocked up on their favorite products. You can customize the shipping frequency for each product in your subscriptions or remove them completely by clicking the "x" in the top right corner of the product photo. Items in your Product Subscriptions will be automatically placed in your cart based on those settings, we apologize if this was unclear! Please don't hesitate to contact us at reviewsupport@grove.co if we can offer any additional information.
I've been using "green" cleaners or making my own for over 20 years. Living in a fairly small town, I have a hard time finding some of the products I prefer if I'm buying off the shelf (Method for example). After seeing many ads for Grove, decided to give it a try rather than just ordering the same stuff from Amazon. I'm not a "retail therapy" kind of shopper. I don't "buy more to save more" or get taken in by "if you spend x you get a free y" kind of marketing. Unfortunately, I am clearly not the target market for this company, which is ALL ABOUT this. AND its a subscription service. Every month they throw a bunch of stuff in your cart they think you might like, and you have to go in and manually delete stuff you don't want. If you miss the email, well, they have your credit card number and a box of stuff you didn't choose shows up on your doorstep. Turning off the subscription all together is possible but takes some research.
I LOVE the idea behind this company. More natural/greener products all in one place and a move towards less plastic. But geez louise this is a pushy system. I don't want to have to monitor a system closely to avoid products being shipped. Just not my cup of tea.
Tip for consumers:
Beware that its an extremely aggressive subscription service.
Products used:
Misc. cleaning products, glass spray bottles.
Thank you for your review, Jennifer! Grove is a flexible recurring order service by default but everything is completely customizable and up to you. It is most likely that those items were added to your cart because of your Product Subscriptions. You can customize the shipping frequency for each product in your subscriptions or remove them completely by clicking the "x" in the top right corner of the product photo. Items in your product subscriptions will be automatically placed in your cart based on those settings. Removing items from your subscription does not remove them from your cart if they have already populated for your next shipment. Having said this, we will certainly share your comments with our team. Thanks again for your review!
Twice it's happened that I put change in my cart and things were added to my cart without my permission and when I emailed them they told me rest assured you won't be charged and a week later I was charged $72 I just noticed it happened 2 months in a row I will not be ordering from this company despite liking the products. I should not have to send back products and be charged for something I didn't order. I'm reporting to the BBB
Tip for consumers:
Watch your cart and which products you are being charged for because they will charge you for something even when you change your cart

Hi Crystal, we apologize for any confusion and hope we can offer some clarity here. The items in your cart are added from your Product Subscriptions, which are based on previous purchases. It sounds like there were enough items in your cart to meet the order minimum, which generated a shipment. Please know you are always in control with Grove and can choose how often products are added to your cart, or delete all subscriptions by visiting grove.co/pantry/subscriptions. Please also be sure to remove the items from your cart, as they will not be automatically deleted. We'll always send a few email reminders before any shipments process. And we do have a happiness guarantee —just reach out to us within 30 days of delivery and you can return any unwanted items for a full refund, no questions asked. Feel free to send us an email at reviewsupport@grove.co if we can answer any questions.
I like the selection and the convenience of monthly orders.
However, if you put something in your cart once, they will add it every single time, as well as any related products to that item, and keep doing so every single order.
For example, I ordered mosquito sticks 1x in early summer. It, and like items, are automatically added to my cart before every order, even thought it's now November in the NW and I never purchased them more than once.
And note- they will ship your order without your confirmation, it happens automatically, so if you aren't paying attention you will end up with (paying for) a ton of stuff you likely don't need.
I have at least $100 worth of product I don't need every single order that I have to remove so it doesn't ship.
Meanwhile, they have little in place to tell me when I might be leaving an essential that I haven't ordered in a while (like toilet paper). I'd much rather get overstocked on something useful than be tricked into a higher cart value with random crap.
Shipping extra boxes of products you don't need that might end up landfilled (with fossil fuels) sure seems to go against all of the claptrap they have about being an environmentally friendly company.
If they really were focused on the environment, they would add cubi-scan logic to your order, telling you how many boxes would be shipping and whether or not they were full. I got a 2 box order one time that had just 2 paper towel rolls in the second full-sized box. I easily would have bought more just to fill that box up, which would have given them the extra $$ they seem so desperate for every order.
I'm annoyed. Not to the point of cancelling, but that's probably coming in the not to distant future.

Reviewing Dispensaries really comes down the what the Buyer brings to the table. You learn a lot about yourself in these trials of heightened awareness over a Pandemic crisis, and your means of coping. It helps to religiously adhere to your own personal preferences without budging (if your a stickler) so that YOU are not disappointed when you leave. You Know what You want! Can't blame the seller. Even if your ideas gets shrouded in overcorrecting. If they don't have what you want, don't necessarily venture up that road of chance~ Go Somewhere Else. They'll have what you want... Or wait! I can now find closure in bringing these attentions to us all! Peace, The Grove...
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and experience, Andre. We really appreciate it!

I love the ease of the app and trying all the products. 99% of the products I've tried I love. However, today the majority of my order did not show up due to "damaged goods". This is fine. Inconvenience but it happens. I was hoping when I called customer service they would at least overnight or rush my order. Instead they are resending my items but I have to wait a week. It's Thanksgiving week and I have none of the essentials I order. Not only do I have to go to the store but also I have to spend even more money to get the essentials I desperately needed today! Not happy at all. Although I hate to go I just can't risk this happening again.
Hi Jennifer, thanks so much for sharing this feedback with us. We're truly sorry to hear that your order was damaged in transit and that you don't have the essentials you rely on. We apologize that we are unable to expedite shipping, this is due to federal shipping regulations. We can assure you that we're doing everything we can to replace your order in a timely fashion. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at reviewsupport@grove.co if we can offer any additional assistance.
My introductory order went off without a hitch. My second, and very last order, is still in the wind. I placed my 2nd order on 9/2 and today is 9/26. I still don't have it. I have gotten two entirely different stories from Customer Service (who are super sweet, BTW). First was "we're so busy and we will get it to you as soon as we can" and the second one was "oh, I'm sorry you didn't receive it, we will re-ship it to you". So now, I have gotten two or three emails telling me my order has shipped but the delivery date keeps getting pushed out. It first showed today, then tomorrow, and now it's 3 days out. I give up.
Thank you so much for this review, Angela.
We are so sorry to hear about the trouble you were having with your shipment. We want to make sure that everything has been taken care of. If you don't mind reaching out to us at reviewsupport@grove.co, we'd love to have a chance to make this right.

I signed up for Grove because I saw a special offer that if I bought $35 worth of products I could get some others free. I placed my first order and carefully read all the screens when checking out for more catches. I saw nothing indicating any sort of subscription. I was shocked and annoyed when my first order of $35 was followed up by a second order of $55 with products I did not want, and or excessive duplicates. Does anyone actually want monthly lip balm and why are they sending replacement re-usable spray bottles? I went online and thought I had cancelled the subscription only to be again shocked a month later with ANOTHER box in which they'd re-added most of the items I unsubscribed to, in order to make it again $50.
Good part: When I called customer service they were very pleasant about about cancelling for me and putting up with my yelling and refunded my unwanted delivery. Will be checking the card statement to make sure it was cancelled for sure. Be sure to call if you have issues!
Jane, we apologize for the unwanted orders.
We strive to always hit the mark on providing wonderful products with the added convenience of your items being shipped right to your door on a monthly recurring basis. It makes us sad to hear that we have missed the mark with defaulting to these monthly recurring orders, resulting in unexpected charges. This must have been very frustrating to deal with. We are happy to hear that we were able to make this right for you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@grove.co if you have any additional needs.
