I have exchanged numerous e-mails with groupon support site, but couldn't print the pre-paid return label as their website to print this label did not work.
As a summary, they sell bad quality products which you can't return. They advertise % 80 cotton but this was made of totally synthetic material.
I ordered a Fossil watch, it was fake, not fossil at all!
The clothes they sell are cheap and even if its a brand name its the items that are not made correctly.
I went to purchase a $249 watch on Groupon. I got an email saying my transaction had not gone through and I would need to input a new card, in the email it gave me a link that said " Update your account" I clicked on it and updated my credit card info. The email also said that they would try again in 1 day. At that point I emailed groupon and they explained what I needed to do, however it was too late the watches were sold out. Thanks for nothing Groupon.
I have ordered some of items from ideeli few days before Christmas. I have been waiting for a package less then one week and got it at noon December 24th. What I ordered is good quality and look exactly how I saw on website. Would recommend it to my friends!
I've been using Groupon quite a while and was satisfied in the beginning, but now that I have issues with 2 separate vouchers the customer service is a NIGHTMARE! I spent HOURS trying to get a refund or at the very least a trade in with no results! Some women actually wrote on the live chat as I was typing. I don't think you're there anymore and disconnected me! Bottom line the aggravation isn't worth the possibility of getting a great deal! (Which you may or may NOT get!)
Just thought I would share that Groupon is not customer centric. Beware if you choose to deal with them and always use a card that will reverse the charge for you, because they won't. I bought some Bio-Freeze and when I tried to complete my purchase, my expiration date was wrong on my card because my bank sent me a new one. Groupon stated the transaction was canceled so I updated my expiration date and re-ordered. Once I did that, they re-activated the canceled order as well and billed and shipped both orders. I sent an email to customer service, who responded from India and refused to cancel, accept a return or credit their error. I sent a second email with the same result. At the end of it all, Groupon is more concerned with profits than customer satisfaction, so I will not be purchasing from them again. Just thought you all may like to know.
To those who bought groupon,
If you think you have been scammed by Groupon. Simple. Go online or call your State Attorney General. File a complaint. It is easier than you fear it would be.
Groupon settled with various State Attorney Generals' or are under investigations precisely for many of the complaints I read here.
Here is the California AG's site. oag.ca.gov
If groupon claims they done nothing wrong then they got nothing to fear from increase scrutiny.
I ordered jewelry from ideeli for the first time in the summer. It was a great price so I decided to give it a try. It took me a while to receive my order but the page did say on the side the expected ship date. I was informed when my items were shipped and they were just as described and in great condition! I would order from them again if I found something else.
Well, in general I like groupon, but sometimes shopping there is a little confusing... I recently ordered a pair of headphones and the order got canceled next day (I haven't received any confirmation). I had to log-in again and check the status. After writing to a customer service they told me my card didn't come through. Excuse me?! Why you guys didn't send me any notifications of it?
I am on vacation, and chose Groupon to use a pizza deal,. Chose (a chain)places near me, selected the deal, and tried to order. It turned out it was for one place 25 miles from my hotel. Immediately contacted Groupon customer service, they said that there are no refunds it's in the fine print near the bottom, why isnt it on the buy button. And why if you select "near me" does it show you places over 10 miles away
I live in the Baltimore area and have been subscribed to Groupon for like 3-4 months now. I think that the concept is awesome and is really capitalizing upon the "social" part of the internet.
I have purchased 3 groupons that were mostly food related, because I love to eat out! The groupon changes daily and it's typically around 40-50% off. The reason that I only rated it 3 stars is because LivingSocial its main competitor has also launched in the area.
Since then livingsocial has offered more interesting deals at the same prices. Groupon has about 60 million dollars more in funding so I would be expecting something greater from them... they have yet to deliver.
I purchased a Groupon for a restaurant. It was listed as a restaurant. It was listed as one of those like modern places where you can get special, cocktails, and food. I went there and it was a nasty dive bar full of drunks watching sports. I contacted Groupon to try to get a refund and they have been rude. They will not give you your money back or credit you cannot get a refund or credit. If you buy a Groupon, the Groupon is yours they give you three days to even get Groupon bucks and then they offered me 24 hours to use the Groupon bucks. It's not worth it. False advertising? Certainly seem like it to me. And then there was nothing I could do they would not help me at all and I contacted five different ways. I have never spending another penny in Groupon.
I bought a discount on a ghost tour. I realized last week that someone had hacked into my account to use my debit card to buy things. Then today when I went to use my ghost tour discount I discovered that the hacker already did. So bummed. I tried to use "live Chat" to discuss this with Groupon and they never got on the chat. I Have liked using them in the past but Am afraid to use them any more because if something goes wrong, there is no one to speak to.
Bought a shell card from Groupon on September 24th and was told it would take 7 to 14 business days for delivery. Not including Columbus day, it's been 17 business days. No tracking info was available, so I called to find out where it was. I was told it was probably lost in the mail and they said they'll have to send it again. I know I put in my correct address, so I asked if they could expedite it. The guy said there's really nothing they can do about, and that it will take ANOTHER 7 to 14 business day! I was given $5 groupon credit, but what's the point? How can I trust Groupon or Shell with another order if I didn't get the first one? Other people in my house got their orders (different items) on time, as well as relatives in other cities, but why not me?
They keep contacting me to sign my business up I keep telling them I don't agree with how they work and the amount of money I will make. I keep telling them I will contact them if I decide on using them to get more business. They are very rude sent me rude comments in their emails. Been contacting from 3 different guys who work for Groupon and they all try to guilt me into signing up. I have no patience for rude and pushy people. Then when I told them today to stop contacting me I'll contact you(for the 5th time) when I need your help he told me" don't bother contacting us I will put you down for do not take her business she is a sinking ship" Really! All because I'm not ready to take on groupon.
I received a Groupon voucher from someone as a Xmas gift (12/21) to a resturant that was out of business way back in Aug/21, three months prior to the purchase. Groupon Customer Service
Said I have to contact the gift giver to do
anything due to privacy issues. How tacky and improper. I will be contacting the Attorney Generals Office for futher review.
Went to purchase some Big Heads for my sister in law's graduation. Took forever to connect with a Groupon representative. In the end, I paid Groupon $26.97 for 3 heads (3 x $19.99 value on the website = 59.97) which I then paid $13 per big head for shipping and tax ($13x3 = $39) because groupon wouldn't let the vouchers combine. So I pay $39+ $26.97 = $65.97 for a $59.97 +$13 ($72.97) item. Saving $7 in total... Total rip off. Used to use the site to save for fun events like graduation. Now its just sad.
From a user perspective, I love Groupon. I've bought several items from Groupon Goods and have liked all of them. The only exception was an item that was defective, and Groupon took care of it quickly and hassle free for me. I have scored some epic deals from Groupon, including those for services, food, etc. I had purchased one for hair salon services and in doing so found my new regular hairdresser, which I imagine is the whole idea behind the Groupons in the first place.
Beware of supposed discounts to ticketed events! I purchased tickets through groupon, only to discover that had I gone directly to the box office, I'd have paid 25% less! I contacted groupon about this and was told "It is beyond our control."
Horrible customer service! I used to love this site. They used to stand behind their products and would offer a refunds if merchant did not fulfill as promised. I purchased a groupon but when tried to use the merchant could not honor so they told me to contact groupon for a refund. I explained the situation to customer rep but she insisted they did not do refunds even thought the groupon was not expired and merchant would not honor. Even worse, customer rep had a horrible attitude and when I asked if I could speak to someone else she hanged up the phone. Never doing business with this company again!
I have been hesitant to purchase any groupons because of all the bad reviews. However, I have purchased several because they were deals too good to pass up, and all but one of them worked out fine. The one that didn't (coupons for discounted horseback rides) didn't work out because the company never called me back, after multiple messages left - and they never answered their phone either.
I called groupon today and explained my problem, and they refunded my money with no questions ask. Now THAT is good customer service.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
Groupon has a rating of 1.6 stars from 5,286 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Groupon most frequently mention customer service, credit card and fine print. Groupon ranks 250th among Daily Deals sites.
