I ordered Groupon Goods, Headphones and this second time, bed sheets.
The headphones took forever to arrive, but I let that slide.
This time I ordered Bed Sheets on May 24, I got an expected FedEx Arrival date of June 21. Almost a MONTH! Ridiculous! It says 7-10 days business days just to ship, and they keep to that time. Not happy with the super slow shipping.
Honestly? There are bound to be mishaps with businesses - many, I'm sure, post these deals without proper resources to actually fulfill orders. But when sh-t happens, Groupon is actually really dependable where it concerns prompt replies and refunds.
I've had several experiences where vendors will cancel last minute or not honor a coupon. And the incidence rate is much lower than sh-t sites like KGB Deals, Lifebooker Loot, and the like.
For me, two thumbs up.
What a bad experience! I will never buy any group on vouchers for tour. Most of the dates were not available. Their appointed travel agent choose the date and month for you. So bad follow ups... I do not recommend group on purchased. Don't get cheated especially exclusive tours.
I have ordered two items and had bad experiences with both. The first item hadn't arrived after 2 weeks of it being shipped so I contacted Groupon by email. I received no reponse so after two additional emails I called mutiple times to be told there was over a 45 minute wait to speak with a rep.
After 5 weeks, I finally received an email response to be told it was my fault and they had attempted to deliever. I never received any notices of delivery and found out that they had put the incorrect address on the package. They finally credited me but only in Groupon bucks so I had to spend it on their website.
I used the refund to buy another item. I waited 4 weeks for it to finally be delievered and it was the wrong size. I double checked online that I ordered the correct size but they shipped the wrong one. I will never purchas another good from Groupon.
I ordered a product that was supposed to be mailed to me latest 10 days and it still havent arrived a month later. I've sent 3 emails to them about it and only got a response to the first one saying that they cant do anything until it ships from the company. Finally when i called them only then would they refund the money back to me. I think it's ridiculous how i have to wait a whole month and call them myself to get the refund. The guy on the phone said that we werent the only ones with this problem which means they knew about the problem but didnt contact any of their customers to notify them about a refund. They even gave me $5 extra credit online but that was sent to me a week before a i called which means they could have let me know what was going on with my product.
Refused a refund after the store and groupon were misleading!
I must say I will never use Groupon EVER again in my life. I have purchased a curling iron almost 2 weeks ago & they still haven't shipped my order. I am so done with this site. I need to unsubscribe myself because it is a useless site. Pathetic.
I promised my kids they would be able to go to a local camp this summer. I didn't tell them until my purchase was confirmed. Later, I found out that the camps were unavailable--something neither Groupon nor the company offering the camp's website said. As far as I knew, I had purchased spots and the camps were open (per the website). When I called the camp to confirm, they informed me there were not enough spots for the camps I had purchased. $118 out of my bank account, upfront, and NOTHING to show for it. The person at the "camp" then tried to up-sell me into a full-cost versions of the same camps. The person I spoke to at the camp also told me, at the time of the company's sign-up with Groupon, they informed Groupon their spaces were nearly full! Therefore, more people were likely to BUY the Groupon, upfront, only to find there wasn't a camp available! I will NEVER do business with Groupon or the company offering the camp, again!
I've had nothing but excellent experiences with Groupon. On the one occasion I felt I needed to contact Groupon, they replied and solved my issue within 48 hours. I've purchased at least 30 groupons in the last 4 months, and never regreted it once. Great deals, great customer service, and the only "deal" site I've used so far that has a guarantee!
My friend told me about Ideeli so I signed up a few days ago. I was so excited because I found the perfect watch for my husband for our 1 year anniversary, and found a couple pairs of shoes and jewelry for myself. When I couldn't log in to my account today I contacted customer service and was told that they cancelled all of my orders and deleted my entire Ideeli account because they couldn't get a hold of me which is complete BS - they hardly tried. My husband is disappointed because he doesn't have the watch he fell in love with, and now I don't have shoes and jewelry for a wedding I'm attending this month... what a joke. Stay away. It's a headache to find something you like and then have this happen.
I have ordered a few things from this sight. I find that they do not give the whole story when advertising the deal. For example I bought the Mad Auto detailing. I sent in question asking if they wax the car. They said they hand wax. When it was done the hand wax entailed a spray bottle and cloth? After I booked and paid for the deal that is when I find out they ONLY due Tuesdays. I booked for a date on their calendar and they moved it back from May 15th to June 5th plus changed the time. YOU FIND OUT THE TRUE DEAL AFTER YOU BUY. Beware.
DO NOT USE THIS SITE in my opinion. They do not stand behind their customers and refuse to refund money. I purchased a $225 deal from them and when I called the vendor to schedule an appointment, I was told they had nothing for over 2 months! This was a service I needed soon, not in TWO MONTHS! I contacted Groupon and complained that this company and Groupon should have advertised that they were booked for 2 months and I asked for a refund. I was told I could only get a refund in Groupon Credits. I do not want $225 in Groupon credits b/c I will never use them again if this is how they do business. So basically they stole $225 from me.
This site is a good concept but I am not pleased.
This is the first time I have bought something on Groupon and I ordered my item on May 10th and the items stated 7-10 days shipping and I didn't need to do anything else. On the 24th there still was no tracking number so I called. The customer service rep was really nice and she contacted the account manager and a tracking number was issued. Well that's all that was done. I feel like they gave me a tracking number just to shut me up for a few days. Yesterday May 30th I emailed to ask what was going on because the only time I had to call they were not open (8am EST). The site says I will hear back in 24hrs... lie... no email came back. So I called yet again today May 31st again the customer service rep was nice but you can tell they don't get proper training on customer service skills (ex. Put me on hold and then took me back off hold by saying "hello" no "Thank you for holding Mrs...
I am not a happy customer and now this makes me think this would happen again!
Absolutely useless site.
I am a small businessman and I desperately need more publicity. I thought this site would do it. Turns out they hate small businesses and refuse to do business with small businesses.
I looked at the "deals" offered and they're just worthless. I can get 10% off in most places just by negotiating. The other deals - you have to buy so much it's just not worthwhile.
Some good deals but if it goes wrong - if the supplier doesn't deliver as promised - they're of no help. They say they will follow it up but they don't.
So - as usual - buyer beware!
Bought a Groupon Getaway and tried for weeks to book the resort but they only had an answering machine saying they would call back in 24 hours which they never did. My friend bought the same getaway (Cabo San Lucas) and had the same problem. She called the Groupon complaint line and was immediately refunded her money. I had emailed the complaint dept and was told I could not have a refund and that they would try to "resolve" the issue. I immediately contacted my Visa credit card and got a refund. Won't do a Groupon getaway again!
I have been buying deals on this site for over a year. At first everything was fine. Then, I had a cleaning company refuse to return my calls to set up an appointment on a $70 voucher. This persisted until the deal expired. I DID contact Groupon before the deal expired for help and received none. I received a maddenign letter from Groupon accusing me of not contacting the House Cleaning company before the expiry date. I have the calls on my phone bill. They essentially blew the problem off. Then, they over-sold another deal and the merchant stated that they knew that they were overselling it, and that the merchant should not be liable because Groupon sold more vouchers than they contracted for. So, once again I am out money--now over 100.00. When I googled them, I found tons of complaints regarding the SAME cleaning company and the same deals. I don't think the issue is whether they fit into the definition of a scam or not. The issue is more properly couched as, "Do you get what you pay for? The answer is that 75% of the time you do not. I am basing this on one year's experience and numerous failed calls to customer service. I am writing to the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau in my state. At least if people do their homework they won't be burned.
Purchased a so called deal on Groupon. Not sure who is making the money on these but I know it's a ripoff for the consumer. I ended up paying more in the end than I would have without the Groupon "deal". Whether it was Groupon or the merchant that was resonsible, I will never patronize either one again. I should have known better and I certainly will in the future. BUYER BEWARE!
I HAVE been. Using Groupon for over two years now. Its been good thus far. I've had some issues with companies not. Being able to handle all the business but that's it. I email Groupon for a refund and its processed immediately! Who cares if they only give the companies 50% back they are in the business of making. Money. These terms are agreed upon UPFRONT!
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
Groupon is the largest "daily deal" site, selling vouchers for discounted local experiences and services such as restaurants and spas, as well as travel packages, shopping, and a number of other items. Vouchers are purchased upfront and typically must be redeemed by a certain date, after which time Groupons expire. To businesses Groupon markets itself as a way to drive new customers. Groupon is a public company (NASDAQ: GRPN) and is based in Chicago, IL.
