Horrendous experience with Groupon. I am NEVER going to give them another penny. A vendor would not honor my Groupon so I contacted Customer Service only to be told that they would not honor it either. They stole money out of my pocket, but what am I to do? Warn others (hence this posting) and never do business with them again.
Groupon pretty much sucks. Their deals are not great and often have large strings attached, example, one deal was for a restaurant and only lasts 3 months, pretty restrictive if you only visit the town occasionally, and another required you do dine-in instead of take-out, yet another did not have nearly enough supply of the dufflebags being sold to meet the demand - is this overstock.com crap? My largest gripe is that when I wanted a refund after finding that the restaurant coupon was dine-in only, I only had 7 days to ask for refund, and after searching the site I found no way to do it automatically (apparently there is a way to do it yourself but the site is so confusing) I eventually emailed Groupon and did not hear back for about 7 days. They gave me a groupon credit instead of a credit card refund which is BS. So now I am stuck trying to find a decent groupon to spend the money, after I find it I am never coming back to this awful site. Stockholders sell.
Worst service ever! They authorized my Credit card three times (!) and overdrew my bank account in the process. I called them immediately and explained that Bank of America charges $35 if at midnight your account is overdrawn. No response. I used their live chat and finally got someone to call me. They said this is a reoccurring problem they've had with customers, and refused to take any accountability. They apologized repeatedly, but refused to cover the bank fee THEY had racked up. They also claimed they had voided all of the extra charges, that they would drop off at the banks discretion. The banks discretion is 3-5 business days, well past the deadline for my fee.
I've been a customer of theirs for the last year and a half and could not believe this treatment. It's unacceptable to charge more than the purchase price, especially in multiple increments. They claimed to authorize the card for the whole amount, void the charge, them charge as the items ship. WHY NOT CHARGE THE PRICE OUTRIGHT.? OR HAVE THIS RIDICULOUS POLICY POSTED?
I canceled my account with them on the spot. Literally the worst customer service I have ever had to endure! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.
Groupon offered a deal through Little Pim... 60.00 of product for 29. Except, there was only a 59.95 product, so you had to buy more, and really couldn't get the offer you thought you were buying. Groupon didn't really care about the bait and switch. They just defended the offer because of the language used. Bottom line: unhappy customer.
If people would pay attention to what they are buying before doing so they would have a much better experience. If you are thinking about buying a deal, read everything. They are not trying to trick or scam people but simply run a business. As far as customer service, they are only allowed to do certain things because Corporate will only allow companys to do so much. If you are so small minded that you cannot see that it is not the customer service reps fault and you yell at them then shame on you. Groupon is a GOOD company and GOOD customer service
I bought a groupon for dinner for 2. When I went print it out it said I had already used it. This wouldn't have been a big deal but I planned on using it that night for my boyfriends birthday. I emailed them since their office was closed, it took them over a week to get back to me, I asked if they were gonna refund my money since I never used the groupon and I have still heard nothing. They never refunded my money or got back to me. I will never use this service ever again.
My husband and I have used groupon many times and each time was successful and worth it. We have used it for local restaurants several times, auto detailing services and sightseeing boat tours. Each experience was successful- with my groupon being in my account right away and I was able to use the groupon app to redeem the groupon and show the vendor without having to print it out. I also like that with groupon I can see comments, questions, and reviews about the deal/business. I have used livingsocial once and am not happy with the lack of social visibility for a deal- I don't know if the merchant I purchased a deal from is reliable, there are no reviews of the company whatsoever. From now on, I'll stick to groupon!
Beware of GROUPON GOODS. I bought a Christmas decoration and some Christmas presents. The return policy is 14 days from order date. The Christmas blowup took 3 weeks to get here ( that is what was promised) We waited 1 week to set it up, dont want decoration out to early, and it broke after 1 week. Since it is now over 30 days since ordered tough luck. I am now really concerned about the helicopter I bought fro my grandson. It is under the tree. If it is broken we have had it for 30 days already. Everyone else give extra time at Christmas and starts the clock when you get something not when you order something
I have ordered numerous items from this site without a hitch, even returning an item.

I don't think they deserve even a single star! I paid for a "groupon" deal, was not able to contact the merchant (the phone just rang and rang, this happened over several days, at various times), and I contacted the site to tell them I was not able to get in touch with the merchant. They wrote it usually took 24 hours to get back to client (me), Several days later, and two additional contacts with customer care, still nothing. I tried calling GroupOn customer care on 2 occasions. First call, I was number 56 in queue, second call I was 91 in queue! What kind of a racket is this?
NEVER EVER BUY GOODS! I have had 2 bad experiences with Groupon Goods and they REFUSE to provide any customer services. I waited 20 days and sent 4 emails regarding a product for my brothers birthday before they told me that they could not fulfill the order. When I purchased, it guaranteed delivery in 2 weeks. It took them FOUR emails to even acknowledge my disappointment and then once they did, they pretty much said "oh well". There are far too many of these websites to take your customers for granted.
Their shipping is terrible! I ordered a throw blanket and a month later I still don't have it! They say they deliver in 2 1/2 weeks but it didn't even begin shipping until 3 weeks after I ordered it! I was hoping to give this as a Christmas present which is why I bought it so early, but thanks to Groupon I have to wait until it finally comes for me to give it to my friend. Thanks for nothing Groupon!
I have purchased things such as movie tickets and attractions on groupon and have never been disappointed. It is definitely a savings and the "fine print" is minimal and listed right next to whatever you are about to purchase. I would recommend to all.
I have placed a order and because of a glitch in their website the order was cancelled and the amount from credit card was debited. I raised a ticket for this and they told me that money will refunded back and will be appeared in the card statement. But finally money was not refunded for the card. I have following up and they are not responding properly and are not willing provide a solution for the customer.
So i request every one to take an option like COB(Cash on delivery) while booking items in this website.
I've had pretty good experiences here - deep discounts on stuff I like. However, it feels like the merchant quality is slipping over the past few years. I now rarely see stuff I'm interested in.
Never ever I will use their services again! Customer service does everything not to refund the money and would not even give a credit to be used for a different product! Ridiculous! Don't buy anything from them unless you are desperate and there is no other place to get what you are looking for!
Customer service should be renamed as there is no customer service. Waiting for over 15 minutes to get to talk to somebody who is not even trying to help you is unacceptable!
"Groupon will refund the amount paid. Period" is failed poor marketing statement that company can't afford to live up to.
Dear merchants, use companies with better reputation to offer your promotions if your don't want bad light to fall on your reputations as well.
Groupon Good is Terrible! I ordered something they didn't ship it till 2 and a half weeks later. Come to find out they shipped it to the wrong address and told me to call UPS to try and change it! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Terrible customer service. Was on hold 4 times for over 20 minutes! Don't do it. Not worth the stress.
They state they will reimburse you for the face value but that is not the truth behind the experience.The customer service rep on the phone are rude and curt. STAY AWAY FROM GROUPON and save your time and MONEY
I have had amazing experiences with them! I LOVE THIS WEBSITE! I heard about fast sale websites on tv and found this one. I have ordered about 8 items from them and I have received all of them when expected. When viewing an item it will tell you when they will ship. I just ordered a tie and it will take 17 - 21 days for it to ship to me. But i have waited a month for an item to ship and it came on time. A lot of their items are returnable. But i have had wonderful experience with the customer service and all the items have been great quality and came one time. I recommend them to all my girlfriends. But I have become addicted to this website, I check it everyday for the new deals. =P

Absolutely sucks!
I bought three dresses on Ideeli more than a month ago and decided to return all three of them because none of them fit. After a few days, I received an email saying that they received two items and issued me refund for those two items. I was very confused because I sent back all three items in one single package but they said they only received two. So I contacted customer service and the representative told me that they DID receive that third item and will be issuing the ADDITIONAL refund within 7-10 days. Then more than a week passed and I didn't hear anything back from them. So I contacted customer service again and this time they told me they never received the third item. After that we had more than 10 email conversations back and forth discussing how the customer service can tell the customer that they received it at first and then tell the customer that they never received it. All I got was the same answer (that sounds like a copied and pasted one) where they said sorry blah blah blah and we will talk to UPS about this issue. So what am I supposed to do? Just wait here and let them say whatever they want to say? If Ideeli was the party that lost my item, I have no right to complain/get my refund back but to let them take the money away from me? I have wasted so much time and energy on this. And I swear I will never purchase on Ideeli EVER AGAIN!

Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?

Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.

Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
