Worst customer service!
January 19, 2013

Worst customer service! They 'lost' my deliveries twice, and even after calling a hundred times to figure out why this was happening, and prevent a repeat, after ordering several times from them! I was met with, " I'm sorry, we will cancel your account if you want, and oh, by the way, if you want the items that were misplaced, we will place you on the waiting list!"

Groupon gives out customer a redeemed/expired code. Don't ever buy their coupon. They would not refund your money if your coupon doesn''t work. I purchase Groupon-The body shop $10 for $20 on 10/25/2012. When i go to the store on 12/15/2012, the body shop manager said my groupon has been used on 10/19/2012. How could that happened? It's obviously Groupon has the fraud which they need to fix it. I called Groupon and let them know my situation. Their response is that this code has been used on 11/17. Where do they come out the date i don't even make a purchase? This is such a excuse. Groupon refuses to refund my money, but will give you a compensation, $5, Groupon bucks instead.

Don't buy anything in Groupon.com.

I have had two negative experiences. The first was on an expensive vacation. The second was with Oberweise. Both were due to the loss of jobs. My son and his wife lost their job and had to move in with me. The vacation ended up being canceled because my daughter in law just got a new job and could not take off. Both Great Wolf Lodge and groupon said sorry, so sad but you just lost all of your money. The second was due to the same loss of jobs. Due to this my son's family had to move in with me. Since I purchased a groupon with Oberweise they honored my groupon but would not honor my daughter in laws because we now live in the same household. Groupon states that if the groupon is not honored by the company we will refund no questions asked is a lie. Groupon said we understand but we will not refund because in the fine print it states only one groupon per household. Sorry but you are out fifty bucks. Oberweise and groupon both said I should give it to a neighbor or someone else. Now I am out all of that money. Be Ware if there is any chance that you will not be able to use your groupon turn around and back away from the groupon. I had a bad experience at a restraint and wrote a negative review. Groupon did not even acknowledge my comment they acted like they only wanted the positive comments.

ZERO STARS!
January 13, 2013

ZERO STARS! I swear to god these people are $#*!ing $#*!ed. I ordered 2 things from here, a Men's watch and a laptop. Not only has it been weeks since I ordered the laptop with no order update or tracking, but the watch I also ordered was delivered over 2 weeks after I purchased it and was misrouted when shipped which also delayed the process. And on top of all that, the watch was DEFECTIVE out of the box! It won't tick or turn the hands on the watch! It's supposed to be brand new too! WTF! I have sent these people 3 messages via their website and said that I'd be contacted within 24-48 hours and never have received a response. They really don't care about their customers, if anything they try to belittle them by doing stupid things such as their contact form saying your reason for contacting them as "Where does it hurt?"... Like really? Real professional of you. It's not cute, it's gay. Really grow up. Not to mention, I still have no idea where my laptop is that I paid hundreds of dollars for. For all I know it's still being made in China or something. This company is absolutely ridiculous. I'm pretty sure I won't be using their services after all this. And here's a little tip if you want to get back at them, per their "Groupon Promise" -- if you aren't "satisfied" with your deal you got with Groupon, contact them and they will give you Groupon Bucks credit on your account so you pretty much get some deals for free. This won't work on the Groupon Goods deals though. Anything for vouchers this will work on though. I've done it plenty of times because these people have pissed me off so bad. I think I even heard on the news that Groupon's stock shares and whatnot are hurting, and I hope the economy wipes them out! They don't deserve to treat people in this belittling bull$#*! way. STAY AWAY FROM THESE UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE!

I purchased a groupon for a local restaurant and it said on the groupon reservations recommended. Well, surprise when we called for reservations we were told they do not take reservations on the weekend. We do not go out to eat during the week due to crazy schedules.

I called groupon and explained this issue and to them it was not an issue, we were not refused because of having a groupon and it was just too bad... in other words suck it up and go on the weekend and stand and wait for a table. Sorry I know I sound picky, but when you are limited with your free time I don't plan to use it standing and waiting for a table when there are many other restaurants that would welcome us with reservations.

Therefore, my relationship with groupon is over. Due to the poor attitude and customer service I'm done. I'm sure they won't miss two people, but you can be sure I will do my best to spread the word.

Just be careful, if it says reservations recommended and that's what you want call the restaurant to see if that's even doable.

If you are a business, you need to stay away from this company. The deal ran with all the wrong information about my business. They had no idea why the info. Was wrong and they couldn't fix it until the last day. I was stuck responding to phone calls and emails about their issues. The final nail in the coffin was months after the deal ended, they ran another deal selling my products without my permission. If you're ok with only making 25% of what you normally charge, just run your own special with less headaches. I wish I never tried working with Groupon!

I would not recommend groupon to anyone. I have consistently heard nothing but bad reviews from friends and family about their groupon experience and now i can lend to the multitude out there that already exist. I received a groupon gift from a friend and had a question about the product before I could use it. Good luck trying to talk to an actual person. I was stuck to email as they only communicate through that so they can send you automated responses and never answer your questions. I even followed up after their indicated two day response rate turned into two weeks, asking if a person could get back to me as I only received some automated response. My reply? Another late response that was so devoid of customer service I don't know why any self-respecting company would hire such incompetence. The response did not acknowledge my question, only throwing back how a "real" person would eventually get back and they signed it a robot. Some pathetic customer service person decides to take out their frustration at how their life is reduced to nothing but answering customer inquiries?

You go to groupon for ease of service: quick access to supposed good deals. But believe me, it's not worth it. They cheat both the businesses they "market" and the consumer. My friend ordered a service for a massage. Have fun trying to redeem those as businesses. Most of those services blow you off the moment you mention Groupon. My friends scheduled massage was cancelled four times over a seven month period. They consistently told her that they were "booked" full the whole time and would schedule her 2-3 months later only to call and cancel a week after and say they again wouldn't have any available appointments for another few months. Shes still trying to get groupon to acknowledge her question to their so-called support team. Our stories are one of many. No company should consistently treat those they provide services for as second rate citizens. It's no wonder they no longer possess the sales of a successful company. Keep a look-out, as I'm sure we'll all be put out of misery soon as this company continues further in its decline down the toilet.

I am very unhappy with groupon for their refund policy, otherwise known as no refund. I purchased a groupon for services at a local studio called MetaBody. In the groupon they listed the classes and the locations of the Metabody Studios in Arizona. Groupon did not list the Metabody locations that offered each Yoga class or what times they were available. After purchasing the Metabody Groupon the schedule and locations available were not good at all. Groupon simply refuses to refund a lousy $20.00. I would be very cautious ordering anything from Groupon like the Metabody deal where open space or scheduling is involved in the deal. Terrible policy, terrible customer service from Groupon.

I generally frequent sites similar to Ideeli, like Gilt and Hautelook, and expected similar customer service from Ideeli. Boy, was I wrong. I purchased something from Ideeli in late November... I still have not received the item. Ideeli ships their product via UPS Surepost, which the only thing "sure" about it is that it's sure to be late. UPS will transport the item up to a point, then transfer to it USPS. There's no tracking available of your product after that point. My stuff shipped on 12/18 and it's now 1/8 and I've still not received it. Worst procurement process ever. Decided to stick w/ the other sites going forward.

I've gotten a few things from them which were as expected, but have 2 bad experiences that will cause me to not use them anymore. First was a $200 boat rental that took a month of no responses from the vendor and then back and forth with Groupon to get a "credit", not refund. Now I have $200 to spend somewhere else on their site. Recently I purchase an alignment from an auto shop. The shop was difficult on the first attempt and wouldn't schedule an appt and on the 2nd attempt their equipment broke down. They are 25 minutes away so I requested a credit as I wasn't happy with the auto shop and was told by Groupon no. They said too bad and to give it to someone else. They took a week to respond to the inquiry. Now I have $150 left in credits to be unhappy with.

For the SECOND time I bought a Groupon but was refused rudely by the merchant when I tried to use it. When I contacted Groupon customer service, it took a long time to finally get someone on the phone and then I was told to allow them several days to confirm with the merchant that they are not honoring their Groupons. My complaint is tri- fold: #1 a growing number of merchants are not honoring groupons that are already purchased #2 Groupon is hard to get in contact with. They encourage e-mails to which they take their time responding and there is a very long wait on their customer service number and #3 it takes WAY TOO LONG for Groupon to process refunds. Why does it take Groupon days to confirm with the merchant rudely told me in 10 seconds? I'll never buy a Groupon again.

Ordered a Fujifilm FinePix F660 Digital Camera for £99.95 on the 5th Decemeber, which I still haven't received. I feel this is a result of bad service from Jessops as well as Groupon. Jessops tried to deliver on the 14th december, but Groupon hadn't provided them with my house number, so the camera was returned to the depot. Nobody contacted me, and it was only when I specifically went to visit my university house I realised it wasn't just delayed due to busy christmas postage. Jessops are sending it out now, but they've both proved fairly unreliable. This is my second bad experience with groupon and their communication with other companies. I wouldn't really recommend.

If you have a problem getting the product or service you paid for, you are out of luck trying to get a refund. I purchased an auto detail package. Could not reach the seller. After two weeks I contact Groupon "support". They said they would "pursue on my behalf". Two weeks later, still no response. I contacted Groupon again asking for a refund. They may have just as well laughed in my face. Once again they said they will "pursue on my behalf". They would give no indication of how or when I could get a refund. So much for dealing with Groupon. Please be aware that, if you have a problem with the seller, it's only the beginning of your problems. Groupon will stonewall you.

I ordered my son a helicopter for Christmas. It arrived and it did not work. Groupon would not take it back because it had been more than 14 days since I bought it. I guess I was expected to open his gift and try it out before wrapping it and putting it under the tree. I will never purchase a Groupon again.

I purchased 3 groupons from the Blue Mountain Crab Company as XMAS gifts. It was a $19 cost for a $40 coupon. I saw that there was shipping costs and thought that shipping 1 lb of crabmeat couldn't be that expensive. It was $38 to ship if from Baltimore to Northern Va. $13 in 'packing' fees and $25 in shipping. How ridiculous is that? Will probably cost $50 to ship it to TN where I live. Stay away from both Blue Mountain Crab AND Groupon unless you want to sit and read all the fine print for the next hour or consult a lawyer. When I called Groupon to complain about it, they said they were sorry I was confused. Give me a break!

I have used Groupon for couple years and had not been disappointed until now. I purchased a voucher for group couples massage class end November. I had checked the website of Stonewater Massage and read that their group classes would be offered Tuesdays, Thursdays and one Saturday a month. After purchasing the Groupon deal, I called to reserve a spot in the class only to be old that they were only offering it on Wednesday that month. I was told I would be called in couple weeks and there would be a class next month that would be on a Tuesday or Thursday. I never received a phone call. When I called back after few weeks, I was told they are only offering the class on Wednesdays which I can not make.

I contacted Groupon twice now to ask for a refund since the merchant was not able to follow through on their offer. I did not receive any response. It's been very frustrating. I've had to dispute the charge on my credit card.

From the business

Groupon is the largest "daily deal" site, selling vouchers for discounted local experiences and services such as restaurants and spas, as well as travel packages, shopping, and a number of other items. Vouchers are purchased upfront and typically must be redeemed by a certain date, after which time Groupons expire. To businesses Groupon markets itself as a way to drive new customers.
