I was gifted a groupon. When I tried to use the groupon for a night's stay at resort I was told by the resort that it was under new ownership and could not be honored. I requested with detailed information from groupon customer service staff to have groupon bucks credited for the amount of the groupon that I was not able to use. They refused and said the gift giver is the only one who can get groupon bucks credited. This makes no sense and is dishonest business policy. It's the same if you were gifted a too small shirt in a department store and went to exchange it in the store with the gift receipt but are told that the exchange can only be made by the gift giver. Poor, poor policy. This groupon was paid for and they hold onto your money... not even a credit in the form of groupon bucks (which was what my request was). Holly Evans
I had problems to redeem two vouchers... The first time the service provider wasted time to redeem it, until the voucher was expired.
The second time, the the service provider said the voucher was invalid, refuse to redeem... What a joke!
In a hot day, it's to save $10... really waste time!
My mom had someone open a fraudulent account in her name and are ordering items with an account in my moms name, but she didn't open it. When we called customer service we were told that they wouldn't help us. I told them that my mom had notifications on her phone of orders being placed and that I could give them specific times and items and send them screen shots of the orders. They insisted there is nothing they could do. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they hung up on me. I called back thinking the line maybe got disconnected and same story, as soon as I asked for a supervisor, they hung up on me again. Very disappointed in the extremely unprofessional behavior and unwillingness to assist in a situation dealing with fraud.
Ordered a queen sized bedding set (comforter, pillow shams, bed skirt) from Groupon and paid $70. They sent a completely mismatched set with a king skirt, double-bed shams, & queen comforter. When I asked that they send a correctly sized skirt, they refused and offered me $12 if I would just keep the mismatched set! Clearly their vender just threw together some leftover items in the hope some sucker would keep them. Shame on Groupon! I'll never use them again.
Shopping for most items is very easy and the items usually arrive on time. I only had one order get lost on me so far. I only had one order so far that got cancelled on me with no explanation, but with a refund.
I have purchased 2 deals and my co-workers have also gotten deals with no problems. I got a body wrap and dance classes. My only complait is the wrap didn't work, but at least I didn't pay full price!
I can see how the 50/50 model may not seem fare, but if you like the business you get the deal, I wouldn't mind going back and paying full price.

I called the company I bought the groupon for and the number had been temporarily disconnected. I called Groupon and they looked into it for me and the company had gone bankrupt a few months back. They issued a refund immediately.
Groupon is offering a promotional 10% discount for their "Getaway" travel option I was unsure how to add the discount to the cart, I called customer service who assured I could alter the reservation after submission. Obviously that was a lie, they informed me the coupon would not work for a hotel (insert sarcastic emoji here). I was also told (not to mention clearly dictated on all Groupon literature) that Groupon bucks would be applied automatically in the cart. Obviously that did not work so now I have to dispute the charge with my bank because groupon will not refund me, and i am stuck with 100.00 groupon cash that i NEVER EVER want to use. Supervisor fixed all issues and gave full refund while providing a complete solution to get me what i wanted.
I was a little apprehensive after reading people's comments on this site, but I saw a dress I loved and went ahead and gave it a shot- and I'm glad I did! It came less than a week after ordering and was exactly what I wanted. The only thing I can't say I'm a fan of is the shipping charge. At nearly $10, it's kind of pricy if you're just ordering one item, as i did.
Ordered a towel set on 11/22 and tried tracking many times. Contacted shipping company and they said I had to go through sender because, while the shipment was given a tracking number, they couldn't see it anywhere. When I did, they told me that they had oversold this item and didn't have a towel set for me. So, over 45 days later, I had to contact them to get this information instead of them having a max they could sell. I have not had negative experiences with purchasing groupons that are a e-gift certificate and will NEVER again buy an actual product on here. Then, when they refunded me, they told me they added Groupon Bucks to my account. AS IF I want to buy again from them anytime soon. I will say, when I told them that was completely unsatisfactory, they did change their tune and give me a credit card reimbursement. Still, an F for them for not telling me they didn't have my product and immediately refunding me (or, better yet, not selling items they didn't have).
I will not use groupon again. They are bogus and like to take advantage of people. Three times I have bought a Groupon and gotten screwed out of my money. 20 groupon bucks what am I going to do with that instead of refunding my hardworking cash. I don't even use groupon enough to redeem goupon bucks. I don't recommend them.
I have multiple unused groups I purchased that for one reason or another over the years expired and Groupon is USELESS to try to get a hold of to follow through with their guaranteed promise that whatever money you spent you will not lose out on. I have over spent $1000 on Groupon's that I will never recoup. They also removed them from my account if I search on my laptop but I can still see them on my iPad and phone apps. They need shut down.
Just tried to use a Groupon for a Thai massage and found when I got there that my appointment wasn't even on their calendar! This is the last time that I waste money on a Groupon. They used to be great but the last two times I've bought them, it's been a waste of time and money.
For me Groupon sucks. There are no deals for chain businesses. Only deals for independent business. That sucks because I really like many of the chain businesses in the USA. I would like to get deals through Groupon. But I can't. I won't use Groupon until they have deals for chain businesses. I use Retail Me Not right now because they have deals for chain businesses.
Ideeli closed it's doors, in effect. Groupon's takeover created a website that is absolutely NOTHING like Ideeli used to be. Cheap clothes, shoes, and products, and not a SINGLE designer in the bunch. It sickens me, really.
I have an account. I don't know my password. The system won't let me reset my password. The system won't let me create a new account. The system won't let me cancel my account. There isn't anyone to contact if you have an issue. Horrible.
I bought a Groupon for Whole House Air Duct Cleaning. I have two air conditioning units so I had to buy two. Total purchase was $88.00. The voucher said Mission Air Duct Cleaning in Worcester, MA. The appointment was confirmed by US Air Solutions in Phoenix AZ. The technician that showed up at my house was from Clean Air Duct Services. This guy told me $88 would not cover the cost for the whole house and tried to up sell me to $887.00. After I told him him no, he said he could decrease it $589. I told him to just do the $88 job. This amounted to spraying sanitizer into the vents (without cleaning them). I didn't bother to argue with him, I just wanted him to leave. I have sent an email to Groupon - we'll see if I get a response.
I purchased a Groupon voucher for a particular service. I was given something completely different. When I contacted Groupon customer support they stated that because "a" service was rendered that they weren't responsible. If you pay for an oil change... you might get a car wash. They do not care. I urge you not to use Groupon if you have not already used the vendor.
What a bunch of robots that work here. You cannot get your issue resolved AT ALL. These people are absolutely rediculous and I don't even have the words at the moment to describe how frustrating it feels to have to deal with them to fix a bogus charge! I will NEVER shop from these people again.
I ordered a boot that was said to be "leather" upon receiving the item it said and look like "all manmade items". I was highly disappointed. I contacted customer support and got a robot answer twice. It wasn't there fault the make of the boot was advertising the boot quailty wrong however I did not want a credit back, I want my $ back for mis-advertised item. Unfortunately I will probably have to put in a dispute with my credit card issuer.

Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.

Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?

I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!

They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
