As a consumer I thought this website was great but as a business discovered that they will only let you on it if you do all the work and if they can ensure at least 50% off of something. We tried to do a groupon that would provide a customer $25 off a purchase that could vary from $100-200 based upon what product they chose and they wouldn't do it because the percentages wouldn't show high enough. We aren't a food place we can say $20 worth of food for $10 so 50% off but have quality items. They are really going to limit themselves to food and beauty salons and leave themselves wide open for some other coupon sight to steal their niche market.
I used it once for a coupon for parking and it came in handy. I would say most of the deals are good, but probably wouldn't go to the places if they didn't have the discounts. I think it's okay, but it's missing a lot of things you know and love to go to. It's not always easy to find something you want here. It's just ok.
NEVER trust groupon with anything related to travel. I purchased a groupon for a hotel stay two weeks ago. They just CANCELLED my stay without informing me, and sent me an email that they refunded my credit card because they published the incorrect rates.
I already purchased a rental car, I already have family meeting me there for my birthday and now I am not sure what to do. The worst part is I went back to the groupon to see how much the price went up, and the rate increased from $86 per night to $377 per night.
For all of you looking to buy a vacation through groupon, imagine purchasing your family vacation, planning it, taking off work, only to find out that they decided to cancel your vacation on you two weeks later. It would leave you between spending a lot more money to go on the same trip you already priced out or doing nothing.

I purchased a gift for a father's day gift. It was with Waterways Cruise for a dinner cruise. I scheduled as the coupon said. I received an email from the company saying they cannot open because they are having a problem with our port here in Seattle. They rescheduled for June 27. We're not going to need it then nor will I be in town. I contacted Groupon thinking oh they have common sense. I let them know I would not need it. June 6 is when I purchased the item. I asked for my money back. They said you are going to have bucks on your account. I'm NOT using y'all again and need mention the company cancelled, NOT ME. They would rather a negative report than give a customer rightfully their money back and fostering a good reputation. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!
There is a delay on the site, so that expired or maxed out offers still appear on the website as available. When you try to place your order you get a generic error message that does not explain what the problem is and you have to waste your time calling or "live chatting" in order to figure it out.
I bought a voucher for a hairdressing business that went bankrupt. Groupon refused to refund my voucher stating that it had a "subject to availability" clause. Seeing as I had turned up to the salon appointment that I'd made before the voucher had expired I don't see how that clause stands... I will NEVER be purchasing from Groupon again!
I contacted Groupon to warn of fraudulent moving company and they ignored me. This company created distraction breaking my furniture and dumping in street to steal anything I had of value in back of moving truck. Hallaluyah Haulers, Nashville tn.
Groupon still promotes them. These people are corrupt and operating illegally but Groupon doesn't care. How many more victims?
I recently purchased 2 of the same item. When I received the package only one items was in the box but it stated that both were delivered. I contacted Groupon through chat and they immediately sent out another item for free. They asked me if I wanted the 2nd item or a refund I picked the item and I just got it in the mail yesterday! I LOVE Groupon.
You can save if you need something specific but you have to plan ahead. You could waste limited resources if you don't use whatever you buy.be selective in your purchases and use them in a timely manner.
I recently bought a $116 Groupon Getaway for a one night stay in Toronto. When I noticed the Visa charge had jumped to $152 I contacted Groupon to ask why the difference. I was told the fine print noted the offer was in US dollars. Note that this particular fine print was not repeated in the order information you have access to once you've purchased the offer. If you missed it up front you don't get a 2nd chance. It turns out the one night cost us more by using a Groupon than if we'd booked through the hotel directly.
I ordered an ellipticalt through Groupon Goods six months ago. I was shipped a broken elliptical within a reasonable amount of time. I followed the requested procedures to return the elliptical. Six months later, I have been told at there is no record of my return and I cannot have a replacement of refund! Their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced.
I bought a hotel for my sister that evacuated Houston because of the Harvey hurricane. Because the roads were closed and major flooding she was not able to check in on the date. I reached out to groupon 2 hours after I made the purchase to let them know and see if they could help... the rep was very unhelpful and showed no sympath. The rep supposedly escalated the issue after he refused to put me through to a manager... he lied and said a manager will reach out to me within 24-48 hours. It has been day 4 and I still have not recieved any communication from them... also I called during there "open" call times and the message said they were closed. Never purchase the hotel deals from groupon... u can actually call the hotel directly and get them to match the deal, they like it bc they get more money and don't have to share with the joke of a company groupon.
Two bad experiences.
First experience - I ordered a Valentino handbag that was gorgeous on the website. I received it and it felt and looked like crap. I took it to the Valentino store and they confirmed it was NOT an authentic Valentino bag. I'm not sure how they can get away with selling fake bags when I paid almost $500 for this item.
Second - I should have learned from my first experience, but I bought a jacket and a few other items from them. They lost the package. Somehow they don't require a signature on the package and the package was claimed to be delivered. It was never delivered, as my doorman can vouch for that. They log every package that comes into the building and this package from ideeli never came.
Ideeli seemed like a great website, but unfortunatey I would stay away.
I purchased a dress from groupon which was showing dresses from ideel. I loved my purchase and went to the ideel site to purchase another one. It showed that it had it but when i clicked it would not go into my cart. I did a live chat with 2 different customer service reps but they were not helpful at all. I just wanted the buy the same type of dress i purchased from groupon, no big deal. Well it became a big deal because they did not know what i was talking about. Frustrating. It was the all black glamour wrap dress in 16W it also came in multiple colors.
Placed order, shipped incorrect item. Placed again, received incorrect item again. Customer service awful... complete inconvenience. Have never ever had this happen with any online store and I've shopped online for years! Completely annoyed!
I personally have had no problems with Groupon, in fact, I once had a problem with a company that was not responding to me and they refunded my price even though I had already used the Groupon. I do think they have good deals, not to the point that you have to stay glued to the computer screen daily, though. Personally all I could say is, in case of trouble, contact Groupon costumer service. However, keep in mind that each experience is different. I for one do not use Groupon often, and I make a point of calling and checking the fine print before I use my deals. Never trust any company.
WOW - I only wish I had read a few of these online reviews before I used Groupon for the 1st time in September. I completely share the opinion that groupon is a scam. Thankfully it appears I am only out $39 and not more. IRIse Performance in Lenexa KS had a heck of a deal for 1 yr membership - $39 - to drive in business. They had over 300 purchases ($11,700+) and closed their doors. Literally these people took their money and ran. Now despite Groupon's guarantee they have not done a damn thing. I can't get a live person on the phone - even after 30+ minutes. Responses via email seem 1000% generic and clearly NOT from people where English is their first language. This is a total scam. I FOR SURE do NOT want any offer of worthless Groupon Bucks. I will never ever use it again. Their promise isn't worth the papers its printed on - so to speak. What a total scam - probably an international scam out of China or India.
I have used Groupon since its inception. Along the way, I have had a few glitches - products that weren't up to standard; services that definitely weren't up to par, and a couple other issues. Each time Groupon stepped up and corrected the issue or refunded my money. I feel comfortable dealing with Groupon knowing that they have my back. Keep going Groupon! I love the way you protect us consumers!
Customer service won't respond. Get in touch with customer service through email, just through their own site and they won't respond. This makes it hard to keep a paper trail of your complaints or concerns through your own email
Horrible customer service. No help at all. I have not received my order for a month now, the csr told me the merchant would call me within one business day.Never received any email or call and when I wrote back to Groupn, no answer.Impossible to speak to anyone.I have never seen such HORRIBLE customer service. Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.

Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?

Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!

I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
