I'm a graduate student, currently studying forensic psychology. I am passionate about reading, animals, and learning. I strangely combine this with a preference for rock,metal, and other apparently scandalous music, hardcore videogaming, and a tendency to just go against the norm. I love to keep an open mind and do not tolerate discrimination. Period.

I am not an expert anything, all I can offer is my sincere opinion and my experiences. I do love to shop online, I actually buy almost everything online since studying keeps me too busy to go out. So I think I have visited enough websites and had enough weird, bad, and good experiences so I can share some perspective.

I have never had a bad experience with Amazon. Customer service is terrific, they always respond promptly and they are very helpful. I have also bought from individual sellers and so far, my experiences have been good. They also tend to have great prices, especially when it comes to books. If you're a student, you might like their student program, in which they offer discounts on clothing and other items just for students. This program has been great for me, as you get free shipping benefits the first year. These are usually part of the Prime membership (which is not free, about $79 a year last time I checked). However, if you're a regular buyer, the price could be worth it.

I would not say that I don't recommend Facebook, but I also wouldn't recommend it either. Admittedly, I like Facebook in the sense I would like any social network: the ability to contact people who I sadly cannot keep in touch with in any other way. Sadly, Facebook does have all these issues with protecting users' information. Just recently I noticed that if you want to use a secure connection, you have to enable it in your settings. Why can't it be done automatically? Facebook is losing my trust. They just seem to do things in the blink of an eye - many times have I found that suddenly Facebook changed (for the worse), and I have to start figuring everything out. I would say, if you want to stay in FB, be careful, avoid all those scams that will come across, and take care of your privacy. Use the strictest settings possible, and please, be careful with the personal information you reveal. Personally, if most of my friends and family members would switch to another social network (or even better, emails, calls, letters), I would probably leave Facebook in a heartbeat. It does not feel like they care about their users anymore.

Netflix has revolutionized my life. Seriously, I didn't even care much about TV until I saw all the TV shows, movies, and documentaries I had access to with my Netflix membership. I have cancelled my cable TV service and believe that Netflix is far a better offer. First of all, the DVDs you rent are yours to watch for as long as you want, there are no late fees to worry about. Second of all, many of the things they have available on DVD are also available for streaming. If you have a video game system, you are already set to stream Netflix into your TV without a problem. Of course, Neftlix doesn't have every single TV episode and movie ever made, but I'd say their selection is great. Another con: people who do not understand English very well, or hearing impaired people, will not be satisfied by Netflix. To this date, there is no closed caption or subtitle service, which is a serious weak point in their service. Hopefully, they will fix this soon, as I saw recently that there are a few shows that you can stream on your computer and will have the subtitles option.

Well I have to say I'm surprised, this is the second site I review that others seem to hate and I've never had any problems with it. No, I am not paid to post a review nor anything like that. :P I have bought several things from dailysteals and they've always been a good deal; I always receive my packages on time and the items were in great condition. Only one item didn't work and they refunded the money immediately. They won't always have stellar offers but it's worth watching out in my opinion. I heard of this site from a customer who loved to buy there and he also seemed to be satisfied. I hope I am not proven wrong later! But I would say, based on my personal shopping experience, if you see something you like, to give it a try.

I personally have had no problems with Groupon, in fact, I once had a problem with a company that was not responding to me and they refunded my price even though I had already used the Groupon. I do think they have good deals, not to the point that you have to stay glued to the computer screen daily, though. Personally all I could say is, in case of trouble, contact Groupon costumer service. However, keep in mind that each experience is different. I for one do not use Groupon often, and I make a point of calling and checking the fine print before I use my deals. Never trust any company.

Terrible customer service. I placed an order and it was shipped later than it should have even though I selected next-day shipping. They never pick up their phone and they only replied to my numerous email inquiries about a week later. Their excuse was that I had sent my email after 7 pm so they had shipped it the next day, but I had an email confirmation to prove them wrong, so after a day or two they replied and agreed to refunding the shipping costs. When I asked them for a return authorization number so I could return my products, they never replied. Have not heard from them to this day.

I did an online search and found other customers who had similar problems. In addition, they seem to have a tendency to not send the complete order; my own package only included two out of three items that I had ordered, even though the enclosed invoice listed all of them. They never addressed these concerns either. I gave up trying to contact them and have decided to sell the items elsewhere. Given the terrible customer service, I would strongly advice buying your costumes and accessories somewhere else.
