Don't do it. If you have the option take an Amtrak train instead! My daughter was scheduled to take a bus from Harrisburg to Washington DC Thurs morning. I got up at 2 am to take her to the bus station. We arrived at 3am. Her bus was supposed to depart at 3:50 am. We waited until 5:30 am. The bus never arrived. Customer service was of absolutely no help and couldn't even tell us if the bus was still planning to arrive. Customer service also refuses to issue a refund. Horrible experience.

My wife and I were to catch a bus from Kalispell MT to Missoula MT, we had a plane to catch. Our bus never showed up. I think most folks would expect to get reimbursed, we did. However, Greyhound did not think so. We spend $56 and some change for nothing! You be the judge, did they do the right thing or wrong. We feel that they stole from us and they certainly have lost our trust. Greyhound was wrong for what they did to us.

PART 2: I am glad to report that Greyhound said that they would reimburse me for what I spent on tickets. Thank you for doing the right thing.

PART 3: It is now February 13,2023 and we were told that we would be reimbursed for the bus that never showed up. We have not been reimbursed. That hurts, we were told that we would be reimbursed on January 19,2023 and that it would take 7 to 14 business days.

Worst experience ever
March 25, 2023

Worst experience ever. I was supposed to take a round trip bus from Oregon to Seattle. After the bus was 20 minutes late for my outgoing trip I looked up the status to find that my bus had been canceled. No email, No phone call, Nothing. Since I couldn't get to Seattle in the first place, I had to cancel my return trip from Seattle back to Oregon. Greyhound has refused to refund me my money for my return trip offering only a voucher after they took $20.00 cancellation fee from it. How am I supposed to take a return trip when they canceled my outgoing trip? They left me stranded, and now won't refund me my money. How is that in any way ethical? Avoid Greyhound at all costs!

My trip with my 3 year old from New Mexico to Florida was Terrible. I had to get off the bus in fort worth because the driver said me and my sick son had to sit separately even though she was the only one to have a problem with it. There was many open seats, and the man who had the seat said he didn't mind, but she was very rude and didn't care what anybody had to say about it. So, at that point me and my son were both crying and had to get off the bus at 2am, in the cold. In the middle of all this we lost a bag, had to call the ambulance just so we could stay at the hospital for the night so he wouldn't be in the cold. Definitely won't use greyhound again.
Now I've been told they can't find my bag and when I've wrote back to greyhound about my experience they don't respond any more.
Had I have not had that terrible service in Fort Worth I never would have lost my bag period. That's not my fault that their driver had no people skills or customer service cares! I will never again and would not recommend. Waste of my money should have took the plane!

Worst experience Ever.
May 6, 2022

I have a trip booked from Albany OR, to St Cloud MN. I am writing this at 3am, where we had to sit outside in the cold for 5 HOURS. 7 of us needed a hotel due to then canceling our bus, the terminal guy in boise Idaho? Doesnt know a horses face from its $#*!. We only started getting people into rooms after he left. He was Very Rude to everyone who needed new tickets. There is pretty much 0 communication and 4 of the 7 that needed rooms still have no where to sleep. We sat outside for 5 hours before we were allowed to sit on the bus. You absolutely cannot get ahold of customer service for $#*! as it only brings you to the scheduling and ticket people.

DO NOT USE GREYHOUND!

I took a Greyhound bus from Milwaukee WI to Minneapolis MN, I was supposed to make to Minneapolis at 6:50am so I can make it to work by 9am. I didn't make it to Minneapolis until 2:30pm, why because a 20 year old bus broke down that had no business on the road in the first place. When I dared to complain they told me my ticket was non refundable and they considered a 8 hour delay a minor delay. This proves that Greyhound has no regard to their customers. Or was it because it was a bus full of black people. Yes I went there because it was a bus full of black people.

I used greyhound to go to Altlantic city. I booked a ticket back and when I arrived to the station they left one hour before of the set time to board the bus. I got in contact with their customer service and they have no explanation about it. In addition it was no one in their location in the NJ transit, they didn't show up until almost 11am, I arrived to the station at 7am and my bus was supposed to leave at 7:59 am.
They change my ticket for 11am but I was there and again no bus showed up.
It's the Worst bus service I've ever used in my life, before I have never experience any spontaneous bus schedule change in any bus line.
I definitely would not recommend anyone to rely in such a unprofessional and bad service as a Greyhound.

Why can't Greyhound management do something serious about their surly, rude counter people and bus drivers. There is nowhere on their website to call them or e-mail them.
The Mount Laurel station is the worst. Three women in there who don't know the printed ticket rules, are rude to just about every customer and will not help you with simple problems. Coming back from NY, there were problems with two bus drivers. One at the Port Authority, who would not give a young woman who was trying to get to Philly to visit her sick mother in hospital (even though I had given up my seat). He drove off without her even though I banged on the door to tell him that he had forgotten her. Then the driver who drove us to Mount Laurel, after driving much too fast down the Turnpike, was rude and surly to passengers in Mount Laurel. He would not open the door on the driver's side for us to pull out luggage. Then he would not help old people get their cases out. We do not need this type of treatment. Get it together Greyhound, or go out of business. Renee Jones

Greyhound has very poor customer service, I pre-booked a ticket a few days ago going to Orlando from Ft. Lauderdale and I also booked my hotel and connecting Megabus from Orlando to Birmingham. I ended up at the bus station for 6 hours not knowing what was going on nor when or if I would get a bus to connect me to my bus in Orlando on time. My greyhound reservation was for 12:05am and it wasn't until 6:00 that someone tells us there is no drivers and the next bus available was at 8:00am which would not get me to my connecting bus in Orlando on time. My reservation was for 12:05am and I wouldn't get a bus until 8:00am. They act as if they didn't care, wasn't their problem and as if the inconvenience they caused us all was not their problem and no big deal. I plan to take this to the news station because this happens to much with greyhound and the supervisor over the phone was rude and even laughed in the background. Greyhound will fall and it needs to.

Customer service sucks. The drivers (most of them) were EXTREMELY rude. Although I gotta give a shout-out to this one female who was training to drive. I wish I could remember her name because she was really nice. Anyway... The drivers RARELY make food stops. There was 1 food stop made at McDonalds my entire 2 day trip and the driver said he was only gonna be there for 10 minutes. He sat there for 30 minutes. Most of the bus stops only having vending machines to offer people for food and they are overpriced, like $1.75 for a pack of mms or $2.00 for a normal size candy bar. Some of them have over priced restaurants in them. I was starving to death and heading had a mean all day and it was well into the night so I payed $7.99 for 2 chili dogs. Had a 4 hour layover in New York. I asked the supervisor to give me a meal voucher and he asked me to wait for him. So I did. 30 minutes later he comes back and says he couldn't "find any". The whole damn trip I had to hear foreigners speaking a foreign language in my ear. I paid extra for priority boarding but NEVER boarded once the whole damn trip. An 18 hour drive took me 2 days. Yes they have cheaper prices but that is because they suck and their customer service is non existent. BUT if you MUST travel Greyhound because you have no other option then do yourself a favor and pack food that you don't have to cook and will last for the duration of your trip because Greyhound sure as hell doesn't care if you eat or not. Also all the bathrooms were dirty.

Bus CANCELED without any notice
August 10, 2022

My daughter went through the absurdity of having her bus CANCELED without any prior notice, we waited 1 hour to find out that it had been cancelled, the only option was the next day, which didn't work for us. And it caused us a terrible inconvenience, because I had to drive all the way to Dallas to pick it up, because we weren't even sure the bus was going to be there the next day. Please think ******* times before using this company, worst of all we are not refunded when we contact you to ask for a refund. I'd like to give Reliability Zero, but I need to put a star for the Review to work. You spend your money for a ticket they don't refund. This is TOTAL ABSURD, BECAUSE THEY CANCELED IT!

My trip from Toronto to Wilkes Barre was good, on my way back I got an email saying that I will be enjoying my trip onboard greyhound with free wifi and tv shows, what a joke 1) the bus was very old dirty and seats hard for a long trip 2) no tv the email said 100% of our buses have a nice trip this is not funny. After the Covid-19's they are worse than before, the prices not that cheap even though it's supposed to be cheap when advertising in Canada I cannot remember see US dollars this maybe my error but sure was surprised to see the amount coming out of my bank. Again this could be my error. GREYHOUND NEED TO CHANGE THE WAY THEY ARE RUNNING THE BUSINESS. We the consumers in this day and time should have better services

The worst
August 20, 2023

Its amazing this company is still in business. The deivers are terrible the sevice is bad. I was on a bus form Nebraska to Sacramento and it was a nightmare. The second bus driver change, wouldn't come out and we were 3 hours late when we got to vegas then the stupid black woman allowed the fking bus to leave and she then proceeded to go off, and wonder of all wonders be unprofessional, yelling at me for her stupidity. That made me miss the next bus in LA so after 2 fuxking days on a bus and and another day and a half still to go I caught a plane, bc i would never have made my next bus and greyhound determined THERE WAS NO DELAY! Refused to issue me even a partial refund. I will be disputing it with my credit card company. We need a competitor to this $#*! of a company bc then this crap won't happen as long as the new company doesn't hire black women

Greyhound is still not accepting responsibility for my lost property, whether misplaced or stolen, that was in their possession the entire time. On June 5,2022, my things were gone when I got off the bus to claim them.

I have asked Greyhound several times to check the security cameras and see what happened to my property. They still have not done so or are choosing not to share the information with me. The response given here is again a generic response. Greyhound as a corporation doesn't care about its customers or their things. They collect their money and if something happens "tough luck."

I don't own a lot. I wasn't making a leisure trip. I came to care for my ill mother. Now the clothes I owned are gone! They are gone because Greyhound failed to do their job. They failed to make sure the unloading and loading process for suitcases was safe. I will continue to fight to hold them accountable. This is an injustice and cheats the people like me that pay to keep their business running. Compensation for my stolen belongings should not have to be debated. The ethical thing would be for Greyhound to attempt to reimburse me for the lost. What a horrible irresponsible corporation!

Twice now, we've pre-purchased a round-trip Greyhound bus ticket and the bus NEVER arrived at the stop! The bus "was full at the previous stops" and NEVER stopped and/or contacted the remaining stops to notify the Terminal Agents of the situation!

Customer Service people (after being disconnected several times) are the LEAST HELPFUL in getting any answers as to why this is Greyhound's protocol.

I would highly recommend to purchase bus tickets from ANY OTHER BUS LINE!

They only want your money, they will do anything to not take you and get your money anyways, they did it with me! And 17 others, the bus didn't showed up and they appeal to their fine print in their contracts to not refund, no matter what THEY WILL NOT REFUND, terrible experiences, Run! Run away from them while you can. I'm not kidding, your advised.

Terrible service!
July 18, 2022

My son and I were traveling from Birmingham to Wichita. We arrived two hours early for a 5:35 bus. At 5:40, we asked the attendant if the bus was late. He said the driver was having trouble getting through road blocks. So we waited some more. At 6, I called customer service and was told the bus already left. I told the agent that the bus never came! There is a room full of people waiting for this bus! She said the bus came and left. I put her on speaker and went to the attendant. He verified the bus never showed up so called the driver. The driver apparently just SKIPPED Birmingham because of the road blocks. And rather than telling us and making arrangements, we customers were left waiting for this bus that wasn't coming! The attendant offered us a different route on a later bus, with FIVE stops that would get us home over three hours late. I said not acceptable. My son was returning from military training camp and a party was planned to welcome him home. I ended up having to book a flight for the next morning and get a hotel for the night just to get home in time. Terrible!

Just say NO
March 31, 2019

First route was cancelled. They rescheduled for the next day. Major delay caused missing the connector route. Rescheduled. Bus driver never showed up to finish the connector route. Unaccompanied minor stranded half way between home and destination. Customer service tells you to call complaint department. Complaint depart tells you to call customer service. No one cares that this is a minor. Rescheduled the reschedule. That bus cancels. Rescheduled again. That bus is on a 2 hour delay. IF that bus shows, my son will have been at the Cincinnati depot for 14 hours by himself! This will be 29 hours later than he was suppose to arrive originally. There is no way to contact anyone higher up. They wouldn't issue him a ticket to just come home. They wanted his personal information to be able to help us. He is a minor. That is not legal. Yes, he's 17, but not legally an adult. They can only keep rescheduling his ticket. We are very irritated and angry. We have never had this problem before and we use Greyhound all the time. Never again! JUST DON'T DO IT!
