I traveled from Cincinnati to Chicago 8 hr ride return Chicago to Cincinnati 12 hr ride. Exhausting, not comfortable, the workers are so rude and disrespectful to customers. I will never forget this lady in a wheelchair needed help with her bags. The bus driver said I drive I don't touch bags. That wasn't it one of the workers that do touch bags had the nerve to talk bad about this women to his co workers loudly. The Toxic environment is not needed. To add to this please make things more clearer which bus to get on and any updates without the attitude. Travelers go through enough trying to get home safe.
They do not care for customer service. They dont help at all. Most buses and drivers for that company are horrible. Usually the bus leaves either too early or way too late. They are extremely unprofessional and you'd think once you contact their customer service on the phone it gets better- it only gets worse. 0/10. Even that is too nice.
Hate this company... Purchased online tickets and bus was already gone before scheduled boarding time... Can't get anyone to replace our tickets or compensate us in any way... William T Gilbert Beckley WV..
Was not a bad trip at all the only problem was not informing us of a 2 hr wait on purchasing the ticket.
Because our 2hr wait was 3 am in the morning.
That hurt on those metal chairs hahahaaaa
But otherwise as a truly nice trip
It's fun to ride the bus across America with this service and it's a lot cheaper to travel this way than by airplane or train. Also, you can save 10 % on your rides by having an online membership through their website. Furthermore, it's easy to book a trip through their website and by calling them and free Wi-Fi service is offered on the buses and at the bus stations.
The cons of riding Greyhound are that there are often long delays due to bad weather, the driver not showing up, etc. The free internet service is spotty; on my most recent return trip, I was able to get online at the Cleveland station but unable to get online at the next stops despite having successfully connected to Greyhound's internet service portal. Finally, you still have to pay the customary $20 fee to change your schedule in the event of a death in the family; on top of that, the agent I just talked to made an error on my departure time and said I would have to pay another 20 bucks to change that (despite the fact this error occurred on their end).
I am a bit dismayed at the outcome experience I had with my Greyhound ride. I took a bus ride from Las Vegas to Los Angeles Union Station (Schedule 6414). This was not my final stop but it turned out to be this night. When I arrived in L.A. My bus that was to arrive at 10:30pm never showed up. By midnight, I personally went to the Union Station counter to find out WHAT was going on. My Greyhound App NEVER even updated a missed bus or a canceled bus for the night. Turns out, I was given a new ticked for the NEXT DAY at 5:30AM! What is a woman to do in downtown L.A. Who knows no one? Many of the patrons ended up sleeping overnight on a cold bench at the station! This is not safe for anyone let alone a female! Additional fees were added in order to not sit on a cold bench for the next FIVE hours! This experience was unsafe, unprofessional, zero communication, no apology or explanation to the customers, and left to defend themselves to their own devices! Some customers had no charge to their phones, and could not call for Uber. I am requesting for my reimbursement! Should you decide to take a Greyhound bus, ask ALL these questions of outcomes, and what your rights are as a customer, should this happen to you?
The buses are comfortable, but yes, mostly rude service)
Don't use Greyhound, here I explain why. My gf took Greyhound yesterday, there was an issue with the bus, so it stopped on a highway for 4 hours, waiting for a new bus to come. After 4 hrs, the drivers together with 2 polices secured the passengers and transferred them to a new bus. Guess what happened. After 1 h, this second bus again was not working. Finally, they left all passengers at a gas station. My gf was left at this gas station and I had to drive 2 hours to take her back. I paid 60$ for my ticket and they didn't provide the service. I contacted the customer service, and they said we cannot give the money back.
I was notified only 35 minutes prior to departure that my bus was two hours late. However, the bus arrived before that newly scheduled time and departed without even a notification. I was able to reschedule my trip, but informing a customer of a departure time and then leaving before that time is a completely unacceptable mode of business. Customer service offered only empty words.
If I could rate no stars. The customer service if it isn't already illegal should be. I was accosted by the "security" at the dallas terminal on 205 s Lamar location.
No one could provide information which caused me to miss the bus.
I kept asking to go outside for my bus and the security yelled at me and told me to wait inside until he called us, making several of us to miss the bus. All because we used the "wrong"exit door he had us turn around and wait.
Upon returning inside to call customer service the security guards began to tell us since we no longer had a valid ticket we had to "get the f*** out of there".
I finally was able to speak with customer service and they do not offer a new bus ticket or refund. The ticket was not cheap at $120 I decided to fly southwest instead …Found a flight for $150.
I was not the only one who was treated this way, a gentlemen with his wife and 3 little girls and two older gentlemen also were forced to miss the bus. What kind of service is this?I would not recommend ever using this service. Use tornado bus, they offer customer service and don't treat their customer like prisoners. This experience was aggressive and humiliating.
My friend and I bought a ticket for today at 4.35 am. We were at the bus stop 1 hour before. We waited until 8.30 am but the bus never showed up. I called the numbers on the website and talked with two different people. They told me they couldn't see the bus status and didn't know if the bus would come back. The only thing they told me it is an economy ticket and no refund option. I could not believe how it is possible. If I was late, they would be right. I paid for a bus that has never existed. I lost both my money and time.
I would like to begin and say I have traveled with Greyhound before without problems; however, my experience this past weekend has made me not want to ever use their service ever again. My trip was from NYC to Atlantic City. I feel like that was an important detail.
Firstly, the bus smelt like old urine. The other passengers and I complained to the service agent checking us in and the bus driver who continuously ignored us and passed the responsibility off to the next person. I don't know if anyone is aware of this but sitting in an enclosed space with circulated air with stale urine can do to one's health but I'm sure it is not pleasant.
This will be my last time traveling with this company. The service agents are rude, the company must not train them on proper customer service. Because they were lacking compassion and overall patience for the situation. Also, why do we have to pay a convenience fee when booking tickets at a station when the option of purchasing with an agent is not an option or available.
Overall, I will not recommend this line or them to anyone moving forward. Also, they no longer have anyone to handle complaints and pass most of their responsibility off to a third party company, FLIX Bus.
Also, taking my concerns to Twitter are pointless because both direct message features are not accessible. I'm sure that it is purposeful.
I've used grey hound 5 times now, and not a single bus has ever been on time. The stations are usually poorly maintained, and the only thing worse than the nasty bathrooms are the nast attitudes of the employees.
I would advice when ever possible that people consider thanking the flix bus, or mega bus.
There's also the train or just renting a car.
The last time I was on board on of these things 2 people were arrested for having alcohol on board and one ended up having a firearm.
Please do not use this service. It isn't safe.
We left Charlotte, NC on April 1,2022 at 2:45 am. The driver drove 1-1/2 hours in the wrong direction. He pulled over on the side of the expressway to figure out where he was. Then started going in the correct direction. We got off at the next major stop and drove the rest of the way home. Did not feel safe and/or confident wtih the bus driver. Reached out numerous times to Greyhoud for a refund. No dice. They could care less about your safety.
I had purchased two seats, and only received one causing me and my friend to have to share a seat for the duration of 2 1/2 hour ride. I had requested a refund and did not receive one very very aggravating. I do not suggest to use this company under any circumstances because of my experience and the experience of others. It seems like a very irresponsible company and a company that does not care about their customers.
Me & my mother been waiting here for 2 hours, before we got off the bus driver said the rest stop would be for 40 minutes. It is past that time we are still here waiting this is outrageous y'all should be ashamed yall self and get new workers. Do better it is a new year people do not have time for y'all inconvenience.
I've rode Greyhound 6 times in my life and every experience was horrendous. The lobbies are a complete mess homeless litter the area the buses smell like piss and the restrooms are egregiously filthy. Now I know what they meant when the ticket said no special treatment.
Greyhound is not recommendable, I travel with them and I won't track with them ever again… I would not recommend them to someone I hate…. They had a delay for 6 hours and they sent a notification 1 hour before the original deputies time. And for some reason they thought that was ok… called customer care and they were so rude and render no assistance.
I was coming from Cedar Rapids and stopped in Indianapolis en route to DC and was forced to give give up my seat to six white people and wait another 6 hours. Police were called and Marion County Sheriff Anthony Bell came to their rescue. I spent the night in jail and had to wait in Indianapolis for my arraignment a few days, later. Luggage was lost and took 8 months to recover. Blacks lives don't matter to Greyhound.
My bus left 25 minutes early without letting anyone know. They left 6 separate parties behind. I called and they moved my ticket to the next bus coming 8 hours later. That bus never arrived. I spoke with 4 different "customer service" reps and no one could even locate the bus or give me a direct answer if it was even coming or not. I waited 4 hours hoping it would arrive and ended up using a different bus company so I wouldn't be stranded. This company is clearly outsourced so they don't really care about helping you and keep telling you to call a different terminal for an answer. But when you call that terminal or location, it gets outsourced again. I requested a refund because the bus never showed up and was refused. I will NEVER use greyhound.
Answer: No, there are no success stories. I would give the Colorado Springs Greyhound station a zero if I could. Where do I begin. I dropped a car off for a friend in Colorado Springs and was told there was a Greyhound Bus that went to Union Station in Denver. There were two leaving Saturday, Oct 5. One at 9:30 am and one at 9:40 am. 1. The bus station in Colorado Springs should be in the third world. Think Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan. Dirty. Smelled like body odor. None of the vending machines worked. The gate agent was overly involved in her iphone and wore a tshirt that said, "People are annoying, especially you." I am not making this up. 2. The 9:30 am bus showed up at 9:26. I wanted to get on it and get out of there but she said the 9:40 bus was right behind her. Wrong. 3. We waited until 10:00. I went to the surly gate agent and she said she did not know where the 9:40 bus was. I said do you have a tracker or a phone number to the driver? She could not be bothered and said it would be late. 4. I called customer service. After a 12 minute wait on hold, I was told there was a problem with the 9:40 bus and the next bus would be at 5:22 pm. That is right, almost 8 hours later. I told the customer service rep that we could have gotten on the 9:30 bus as it was almost empty and she said the gate agent should have coordinated that. I said I want a refund, and she said I had to call another greyhound number. I did and was on hold another 15 minutes. 5. Meanwhile I went into the gate agent, politely asked her to put her phone down and to do something to help the stranded people. I asked her why she did not put us on the 9:30 bus if she knew the next bus would be 8 hours late. She said the bus left early (it didn't) and the driver left before she had a chance to stop her. Both lies. She never left her seat or stopped texting on her phone. 6. I finally got through to one helpful agent. He took my number but said I would have to wait 24 hours to get a refund. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give these people your business. They deserve to go out of business. I fly a lot on United and thought they were bad but Greyhound set a new record for poor customer service.
Answer: Report the no-show to a supervisor at your next stop.
