I did not believe this FREE card would save me money on my prescriptions, I was wrong! I had to pick up 3 prescriptions that were going to be $100, I paid $49! I save an average of $20-30 dollars on each prescription, depending on the actual cost. I am so glad I used this card/
Pharmacies do not like using the GoodRx card very much. Better to go with a more reputable card that has been around for a while, such as UNA, or California RX card if in CA. Pharmacist i spoke with is it is their prefered card and easiest to use. They just ran or up on the spot with a number the pharmacy already had, and all i had to do is ask if they could help with price. Saved around 50% this time, and have higher and lower savings other time with it. Looked then up online and you can print a card, and look up pricing, without giving personal info.
Why do you think it is acceptable for a pharmacy to have to lose money on nearly every prescription they process in addition to a $3-15 pullback? You forget they are a business as well but people don't care about that. The reason that pharmacies don't accept these coupons half the time isn't because they don't care, it's because if every RX they sold lost money they would be closed fairly quickly.
Hi Jank - Thanks for your feedback. Some responses:
1) Virtually every pharmacy accepts GoodRx, and we consider most pharmacies our friends - they make more money than the typical insured customer, and the uninsured (or underinsured customer) still gets a fair price.
2) Pharmacies do not lose money when consumers fill using GoodRx. As we said above, our prices are on average equal to or higher than insurance prices, so that's a good thing for the pharmacy, right?
3) Pharmacists seem to be doing pretty well - the average pharmacist in America makes well over $100k/year, and pharmacy owners do even better. My source? Pharmacy Times. Here's the link:

Be happy to discuss further - please email help@goodrx.com. I think you're picking on the wrong guys here.
I didn't know if this would actually work, but the medicine price was 1/3 of what I would have to pay otherwise, so I decided to try it. I read the mixed reviews and thought it may be a hassle, but for me, it was really easy. Walmart was the cheapest pharmacy for my medicine, so I called them and asked them if they'd take it. The lady who answered said, "Oh yeah, those discount codes work." and didn't seem wary of it at all. So I went in, still unsure. She put in the prescription, keyed in the code and the amount was exactly the same as what was on the website. So I've only tried it once, but it worked. Also, the lady in front of me in line was using it too. She said she has done it quite a bit - at Walmart and Kroger - and had never had any trouble at either, so i found that encouraging. I just thought I'd post for those like me who were worried that it was a scam or that the price would be 3x as much when you got there.
Thank you for sharing!
I ordered an elective prescription from my doctor, it was for 90 days and Walgreens wanted $1200, with insurance it was $450, with GoodRx it was $23. I want to personally thank GoodRx for providing this service but am afraid they will get hosed once more and more consumers use this service and the corporate entities change their minds about how this formula saves consumers money.
Hello Jeff! We are so happy that we are able to help you save so much on your prescription! Feel free to let us know if we can help you with anything in the future!
A doctor told me to try Good Rx for two of my prescriptions that were costly. I printed out two coupons and took them to Publix which showed the best price for the Good Rx prescriptions. The pharmacist said the coupons were bogus. One medication they did not even carry and the other coupon price was false. The pharmacist said to me, "I do not know where they come up with these coupons, we do not honor these."
More than 3.5 million people use GoodRx to save on their prescriptions every month, and every coupon we display is based on current contracted relationships with pharmacies. In our experience, SiteJabber attracts the very, very few people who like to write negative reviews and, more importantly, these reviewers rarely respond when we attempt to help them resolve their issues (which we can!). So... we don't respond to comments here any more. We'd really like to help anyone who has an issue with GoodRx. Please email info@goodrx.com if you'd like help. Thanks.
Suprising to know i could get some of the meds i have been paying higher prices for until i went to selected pharmacy which was walmart in my town and was told they do not accept the good rx which was a pharmacy listed am totally shocked. After reading some of the reviews they are basically saying the same things no acceptance. What a joke
GoodRx coupons are contracted with Walmart - the pharmacist is simply wrong and telling you incorrect information. We can help - please email help@goodrx.com. It's disappointing if Walmart is not honoring a contract they have agreed to accept.
I used the app at Walgreens and cut my price in half. My prescription was for an antibiotic and two different pain meds. The price went from $50 to $21. I think it really depends on the medication and where the discount is used. My experience and savings have been exceptional.
Thank you for sharing your experience with GoodRx, Chris! Happy to hear we were able to assist.
For almost a year I have been paying $150.00 for my dogs prescription I was at my dogs groomer and she had a display holding GoodRx cards. I grabbed one and took it to Walmart when I refilled the next arc. Not expecting much...
The price dropped to $47.00! My day was made!
I'm still suspicious there's got to be a catch. But I'll live with it!
A script was going to cost me $240. Looked it up on GoodRx and it told me $108 at CVS. I called them to save myself the embarrassment and they told me they accept GoodRx coupons. I went into CVS and it was $108! They told me it has to be a script at the store. It can't be mail order. Another caveat is this $108 will not go towards my deductible. Not sure I care about that though.
So far so good. I have insurance. Our company just switched to a plan where we pay 100% of scripts and doctor bills until we meet our individual deductibles. 4 scripts my wife and I used to pay about $50 for were going to cost us $1,000. Crazy.
Try GoodRx. I will again.
I am not sure what this site or company is all about. I have checked their pricing and it is all wrong. When I contact them they indicate that they have not updated their pricing. I have attempted to utilize their coupons three times and each time it has been declined by the pharmacy with the comment that the coupon price is lower than their cost so obviously they cannot honor that price.
I honestly think this is a scam, not something when it comes to life saving medications.
Hi. More than 8 million people use us to save each month, and we'd like to help you too. Our prices are accurate. Would you mind emailing help@goodrx.com so we can assist you? Sounds like there's some confusion here, and we're quite good at sorting it out.
Looked up my medication on the GoodRx website, found a price at Walmart over $100
Less than the price quoted by my local walmart pharmacy the previous day. Printed the coupon took it back to the same walmart pharmacy and they filled my prescription for the GoodRx price. No questions asked. I am so happy. I am telling everyone about GoodRx.
My dog has seizures so we had to put her on medication. I went to my normal cvs and it was $100 (a month) which i really couldnt budget for. Went on goodrx and saw at stop and shop it was $25. I would have never known that medication was different prices at different pharmacy's without this. Thanks GoodRX

I had a prescription to pick up at Walgreens and the cost was $118! I started researching and found GoodRx and downloaded the app. I looked up the medication and it showed a card with several different numbers... member ID, Group number, BIN number, and PCN. I called Walgreens and asked if they take GoodRx coupons, they said yes! I asked if I could give her all the info over the phone and she said sure and got all the info from me. She then says ok that coupon brought your prescription to $52. I was so elated! Picked it up that evening and paid $52! Its definitely worth trying. This is not a scam! I was embarrassed to ask after reading some of the reviews but so glad I did!
Thanks for the wonderful feedback.
Since Obamacare took effect I lost my prescription coverage at work. So I tried this website for the first time. It was easy to use, I found best price with coupon and downloaded app on my smart phone. Just showed pharmacy my coupon on phone and saved $40 off prescription price. I would highly recommend using GoodRX to save money on your next prescription.
What's up with the negative reviews? I've used GoodRx many, many times and only had a problem once. Using the card didn't get me as large a discount as using the coupon, but the pharmacist actually looked up the coupon price and honored it. Every single time I've used the coupon I got huge savings! I have no idea why some people would complain about this wonderful program, but don't turn away because of the negative comments here. I've saved hundreds of dollars through GoodRx. Maybe these people can't figure out how to use a coupon! And by the way, the website is very easy to use. One word of caution: Make sure you check the prescription strength and the number of pills. The coupon does need to match your actual prescription. (Maybe this is where some people went wrong? All you have to do is read, people. It's really not hard at all.)
Thanks goodrx. You just saved me $155. Girl at Walgreen didn't know if it would work, but she put in all the info from the coupon on my phone and the price went from over $170 to $16. I would suggest just asking them to put in the codes even if they having heard of it. Worked for me
PharMacy: Giant. Printed a GoodRX coupon yesterday for a prescription I just got. Gave the pharmacist the scipt and coupon... she said OK, be about 15 minutes. Picked it up and low and behold it was a dollar less than the coupon! Here is the kicker believe it or not: price paid was $16.66. The regular retail price printed on my paperwork was $534.09. Im still stunned. Unbelievable.
The commercial is false. You have to go to the pharmacy that accepts good ex. Usually several miles from the location you are presently located at Just because you show a cheaper good ex price to the pharmacist doesn't mean they will automatically accept the cheeper price like the commercial advertised! Like most things found in today's TV, computer, etc marketing world, it's all deceptive crap! Welcome to today's world!
Hi Beverly! We are so sorry for any inconvenience you have experienced with our services. We'd be happy to walk you through how GoodRx works. Please give us a call at 888-799-2553.
It's a scam. They do not honor their advertised coupon price. My prescription price was double the coupon price and they said "oh we're sorry, the coupon for $180 is just an estimate". Since when something that costs double the coupon price an estimate? In addition, the pharmacy had a difficult time processing this.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Our prices are based on contracted rates that pharmacies have agreed to accept. Thousands of Americans use GoodRx every day without an issue. Typically, if there is a problem, it's a pharmacist who either misunderstands or simply doesn't want to provide our discount to the customer. We'd love the opportunity to look into this issue for you and resolve on your behalf - we're quite good at it. Please email info@goodrx.com if you'd like us to resolve. Thanks.
Answer: Yes we do. Just present coupon to save. Have a nice day
Answer: If you have any questions, we're here to help - please email help@goodrx.com and we'll get back quickly. Pharmacists have the discretion to honor or refuse controlled substance coupons, but most of them (like 99%) will take them, which is why we list them (and indicate that they may not be accepted). Hope that helps.
Answer: Hi Terry! You will need to present the coupon to the pharmacist, usually before, they fill a prescription. If you doctor's office is willing to do so for you then it may be okay, but we would suggest you present a new coupon each time you fill or refill. Sometimes our prices fluctuate and checking the coupons may get you a deeper discount. If you, or your doctor, presented a coupon and the pharmacist, for whatever reason, says the coupon cannot be used please give us a call at 1-888-799-2553, our Advocacy Team would love to assist you! Our hours are Monday-Sunday, between the hours of 8AM and 7PM CT.
Answer: Hi there - can we help you? Head to our help section for information on how we do business.
Answer: It takes very little time. Immediately after sign up you'll receive the information you need to purchase at our discounted rates.
Answer: Hi Shirley! We list coupons for Phentermine here: https://www.goodrx.com/phentermine Please be sure to update the script details and zip code to see prices for your area.
Answer: Please give our GoodRx support team a call at 888-799-2553, so they can contact the pharmacy regarding the price discrepancy, Steve. They're available Mon-Sun, from 6 AM to 9 PM CT.
Answer: GoodRx can be used in place of Medicaid as long as the two aren't combined. Please give us a call at 888-799-2553, so we can contact the pharmacy on your behalf. We're available Mon-Sun, from 6 AM to 9 PM CT.
Answer: Great question, Don! Since GoodRx compares prices at different pharmacies, there are sometimes lower prices with a GoodRx coupon. If you have a GoodRx Gold account, you are still able to use a GoodRx coupon if you find that it offers a better price for your prescription at a pharmacy in your area.
Answer: Hello there Anita, we're sorry for your frustrating experience at Walgreens. Please give us a call so we may investigate this and reach out to the pharmacy on your behalf. We can be reached at 888-799-2553, Monday through Sunday from 8am to 7pm CT.
