Today I print and send a coupon to the CVS coupon money was $38. XX. At CVS they are asking $70 plus. As per CVS they try the same coupon (which is print according to area code) price appearing $70 plus. HE (CVS) advise me to call GoodRX. I called them and GoodRX representative said in 10mins she will call to the CVS and fix the issue. These 10 min extended more 90min and upto 5 calls each time 10mins. Final give and said to CVS please charge to my insurance company. Never recommend to use GoodR X. Thanks
WM did not honor the coupon and only gave me a minor discount saying Goodrx prices are just an ESTIMATE. Second problem; when I called the Goodrx customer line and choose an option, all it did was repeat those options and eventually hung up on me!
Hello Sue--We’re very sorry if you experienced trouble using our coupons at the pharmacy. Our prices are generally very accurate and pharmacies are contractually obligated to accept our discounts under most circumstances. Our Advocacy Team would love to look into this for you! Please contact us directly at 888-799-2553 and we’ll investigate immediately.
Didn't cover ANY of my prescriptions. Didn't save anything! I was very discouraged after visiting several pharmacies. I think there should be a disclaimer on commercial because it's Very misleading.
Hello Paula! We sincerely apologize for the trouble that you have experienced, and would be more than happy to look into this for you. Please give us a call at 888-799-2553, and we will investigate immediately.
The first time I tried GoodRX, Publix wouldn't take the coupon, but it turned out CVS had the product for less than the coupon price anyway. The second time CVS took the coupon at about half the going price, so GoodRX is on the happy list for now. One qualification is how this will play out with the annual insurance deductible. That will be a learning experience, but so far I'm okay with the fifty bucks.
I highly recommend this if you have no prescription insurance! It compares prices at many ltiple pharmacies in your area to get the best price for you
GoodRx coupon are "suggested pricing" based on "national averages" even though you enter your zip code. I have used coupons from GoodRx three times. It worked 2 out of 3 times. The third time was for a controlled medication. The pharmacy's price with the coupon was $30 more than the coupon price. After speaking with the pharmacy, I called GoodRx. They called the pharmacy. When GoodRx called me back, they said the pharmacy uses a Pharmaceutical manufacturer for my drug that costs more. They will not fix their site or app to reflect the real price for my pharmacy, because they use national averages instead of real prices. They said the only thing I can do is have my doctor submit my prescription to each pharmacy I want to try (that's a lot to ask a doctor,) so the pharmacies can run through their coupons to see what the prices come up as. There is no way to know ahead of time and they won't do it with a prescription. If I want to call GoodRx to call each pharmacy my doctor has submitted to, that's an option too. It's just as cumbersome though. I just don't understand the point of this service if the prices they show aren't reliable. They won't be getting any transaction fees from my prescriptions anymore. The price in the photo still says $173 when it's actually $204 at that store.
Thanks for your feedback. We can help. Please call us at (888) 799-2553 with your issue. Our prices are very accurate and we work closely with pharmacies.
As a diabetic patient who has been taking common and safe medications for years, I was excited to try GoodRx prescription services.
Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite providing a comprehensive list of my medications and spending significant time explaining my situation, I was made to answer over 14 unnecessary questions and receive tens of emails via email and secret messages requiring additional logins. Even after two weeks, I still have not received my prescription.
While the service is priced at $19, the cost in terms of time and frustration was far higher. As someone with a medical background, the medications I require are among the most standard and safe, and the level of questioning and unnecessary complexity was beyond comprehension. I felt frustrated and disappointed, especially given my vulnerable state as a sick patient.
Overall, my experience with GoodRx prescription services was the worst I have ever encountered.
So, I would suggest that others consider their time and energy value before using this service.
We truly appreciate and are receptive to feedback Faheem; we're sorry to hear your GoodRx Care experience was not a positive one. We do offer an 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and would be happy to refund your appointment. Please send us a message through your GoodRx Care account so we may follow up with you. We are available Monday through Friday from 6am to 7pm PST, please keep in mind, it is not a live chat, and someone will respond as soon as possible.
Even though I have enjoyed good drug plans I have always been curious about the various offers and discount cards that find their way to me. My experience with most has been awful. My dermatologist prescribed Clindamycin 1% solution this week. I have never used it or even heard of it. I called Walmart and was quoted $88.58 for 2 oz.,. Cash price. I checked my drug plan and the price was $47.00 at a participating pharmacy. To complete a thorough search I found GoodRx online and printed 2 coupons, one for CVS ($30.29) and one for Walgreens which was $45.61. I seldom trade at CVS but since my wife and I were going shopping near one, I took the GoodRx coupon in. The clerk processed the thing and in fairly quick order told me the price would be $24.73! I asked if she had experience with these particular coupons and she said she had. She offered that most went through without a hitch. At this stage I am a happy shopper. I truly did not believe this would work and when it worked for LESS than the stated amount I was pleased. Compared to my other buying choices this was super. This occurred in DeLand, FL on 3/18/16
I have been paying for the Gold GoodRx membership and when I went to the CVS in Booneville MS to get my Edex ED medication filled it was over $500.00 dollars for a 6-day supply. The same price it was without GoodRx Gold membership. So thanks for nothing.
We understand your confusion, Don; our goal is to get you the best savings possible. Since GoodRx compares prices at different pharmacies, there are some instances where you can get a lower price with a GoodRx coupon. If you have a GoodRx Gold account, you are still able to use a GoodRx coupon if you find that it offers a better price for your prescription at a pharmacy in your area.
I've tried this at all the pharmacies in my area that they say will work. Nope, NONE of them will take it. Ridiculous. Try BlinkHealth instead, it works.
GoodRx is accepted virtually everywhere. Happy to help - email help@goodrx.com.
While saving money may be good for customers, they are pure evil for which ever pharmacy you choose to go to, which is why some pharmacies have decided to not except them anymor. These discount cards interrupt how pharmacies run their busines. How this works is say a prescription cost $500, you bring this coupon in and lowers it to $100, sweet right, wrong! The pharmacy then looses about 400 dollars on the med because unlike true insurance, these discount cards give little to no reimbursement back on the med that the pharmacy paid to get. It's like working hard for two weeks to get that pay check and your boss says "I have this discount card so I only have to pay you 10% of what I pay you normally, but you've been working here for years saving money so I know you'll be fine". So when you submit this card you're causing that pharmacy to loose money which then means they have to cut staffing to reflect that, which then means an over worked pharmacy tech looses their job, but hey anything to save yourself a couple of dollars right?
Hi John - Appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this issue. It's important to correct your statements, however, because it sounds like you have some fundamental misunderstandings of how prescription discount cards work. Specifically:
1) As any pharmacist knows, discount cards do not send reimbursements to pharmacies at all. Rather, pharmacy discount cards provide a consumer with a discounted price off the high retail prices that pharmacies typically charge. The patient pays the pharmacy the entire cost of the drug.
2) Per your claim that pharmacies "loose 400 dollars", the price the consumer pays with a pharmacy discount card is almost always higher than the amount that the pharmacy would receive from a consumer using insurance. Let's be more clear - the pharmacy makes MORE profit from of the person using a discount card than the person who has insurance or Medicare. That should make you happy, not mad?
3) Your complaint above makes it sound like pharmacies are being forced to accept this 'pure evil'. But your pharmacy chose to accept the contract offered to it and they accepted these rates. So, if cards are 'pure evil', then why did your pharmacy sign a contract agreeing to accept them? It's a free country, after all.
4) Virtually all of the pharmacies that GoodRx works with are thrilled to have new customers who can finally afford the medications their doctors prescribe. Not sure where you're hearing about pharmacies that don't accept them - we only list pharmacies who have contractually agreed to accept our coupons.
5) GoodRx lists many prices, not just coupons. If your pharmacy wants to send over their cash prices, we'll be happy to list them. I just hope that your prices are fair prices that provide you with a reasonable profit but also ensure that Americans can afford their prescriptions.
6) "Lose" is spelled with one o - not "loose". Sorry, Mom's an English teacher.
Hope this clarifies things a bit. Happy to continue the conversation - feel free to reach out to us at help@goodrx.com.
Every time that I have used GoodRx at Wal-Mart, they DO NOT honor the reduced price with a song and dance that it's a different strength or some reason why I would NOT Get the GoodRx price. Wal-Mart expects you to give in to their higher price since you are already there. I instead take my prescription elsewhere (Kroger, CVS, etc) and the GoodRx reduced price is honored. Again, Wal-Mart continues to be listed with GoodRx reduce rates, but don't be surprised if it's not honored. I have used GoodRx over the past 2+ years at other listed pharmacies (except Wal-Mart of course) with huge savings.
Honestly, I didn't know what to expect when I took the GoodRX "coupon" to Walgreens. Would I be told it didn't work? Would they look at it and have no idea what it was? Tried anyway since you DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION. Showed the pharmacist and no problems. Saved about 100.00. Use it now whenever they are cheaper and never a problem.
WalMart would not honor goodrx (Antioch, CA). I don't know who actually honors goodrx. This so frustrating! I finally have medical insurance, but cannot afford my medicine!
Ok... here's the deal. I went to dermatologist and got a prescription for hydroquinone for age spots. My insurance doesn't cover it... while I was at Publix I asked them to give me their price. WITH the Publix discount the price was $83+... WHOA! I am thinking I can live without it. Crying on the way home and deliberating the pain of living with brown spots taking over my face, I bucked up and determinedly attacked my laptop.
WELL... shortly... GoodRX.com came through. Unbelievable price for one tube of God's saving grace. It took me about a week to get enough courage to go to the store with the lowest price. Walgreen! After dropping off grandson Friday morning, while waiting at a traffic light, I pulled out my trusty new fangled toy, the cell phone. Swiped the navigator app and plugged in: Walgreen. Wah lau... o-lay... hot damn... 500 ft. On my right up popped Walgreen. Alright, it is time for the old lady to muster up the courage... go ahead and DO IT!
Tentatively l approached the pharmacist, almost embarrassed. $27.41 later... I am clicking my heels out the store. Thrilled is mild for how I felt. I was very skeptical about one of these internet site being real. Well GoodRX is for real!
For all the stupid hesitating and dragging my heels, I GOT A REAL DEAL! GoodRX is the real deal.
I've always had decent insurance, but got a prescription from my doctor today that was not covered on my plan. I had anticipated what the doctor would prescribe and did a little home work before even visiting the doctor for how I could handle the situation financially. That's when I stumbled into GoodRx via google. I was a little worried based on some negative reviews that this was not a legitimate service. I was surprised when I visited the doctor today and he told me what he wanted to prescribe was not covered by insurance, but he would show me how I could make it affordable. Next thing I knew, he brought up GoodRx on the computer to show it to me. I told him I had already stumbled into it the day before. He said he recommended it for this situation and gave me a paper prescription instead of just sending it electronically to my pharmacy on file so I could shop around. I went the grocery store and used their pharmacy because it was on the list with a great price of $26. The normal pharmacy I go to had it listed at over $300. Sure enough, I did my shopping while waiting for the prescription to be filled, and was pleasantly surprised when made my way to the pharmacy to pick it up paying the $26 as advertised in the coupon. Thank You GoodRx!
Hi Christopher. Thank you for taking the time to write us a review and share your experience! We are very happy to hear we were able to save you over $250, that is great news!
It worked for me at a Walgreens in La Puente, California. Went from 160 dollars for a three month supply to 75. Highly recommended for those without insurance.
Yesterday I tried to use a coupon at Walgreens for Pred Forte at store ******* in Ocala Florida. The hooded coupon said that the price with the coupon was $163.99. The store said that the coupon was for $40 off the price so they charged $299.17 for the medication the pharmacy employee said that the coupon doesn't mean that the price is only $163.69 even though that's exactly what the coupon says She said that it doesn't mean I only pay that much because they only give$40 if the price with the coupon I'm attaching photos of the coupon and my receipt
I feel like I either I was scammed by Walgreens or that Goodrx is committing fraud with the coupons they issue Someone owes me $136 i am also contacting the Florida States'Attornies office regarding this fraudulent business practice.
Hi there. Sorry for any issues you're having. Our prices are very accurate and they are used tens of thousands of times a day without issue. We'd love to make this right. Our customer support number should get you through to a GoodRx Advocate quickly during business hours (9AM-6PM CST). If you're willing to try again, please use this number: 888-799-2553. If you don't want to call, I can get someone to reach out right away if you shoot us an email (help@goodrx.com) with your name and phone number. Again, really sorry about this.
Recently losing our insurance, we thought we could use the GoodRx coupons and still get my husbands critical (expensive) medications at an affordable price. So I download the GoodRx coupon for his meds, even switched pharmacy's to get the best price (Walgreen's was lowest advertised coupon price). We go there and we DO NOT get the coupon price for the Walgreen's GoodRx coupon. Upset, but try it again with his other prescription - and the same thing, we DO NOT get the Walgreen's GoodRx coupon price. Very frustrating trying to jump through these hoops for NOTHING. Nothing but bad experiences. What a joke.
Hello Celesta--Thank you for letting us know about your experience at your local Walgreens Pharmacy. Our prices are generally very accurate and pharmacies are contractually obligated to accept our discounts under most circumstances. Our Advocacy Team would love to look into this for you! Please contact us at 888-799-2553 and we’ll investigate immediately.
I have had an issue with both CVS and Walgreens not honoring the price quoted on coupon that is printed out with current date. I changed from Walgreens (because no one knew how to enter the coupon to get quoted price) to CVS. Today I go to CVS and they will not honor the price quoted on line today.
GoodRx Please stop misquoting the price or give us the name of a Drug store that will guarantee to honor the price.
Hi. Our prices are accurate and set by contracts the pharmacy agrees to accept. Please email help@goodrx.com if you’ve had an issue?
Answer: Yes we do. Just present coupon to save. Have a nice day
Answer: If you have any questions, we're here to help - please email help@goodrx.com and we'll get back quickly. Pharmacists have the discretion to honor or refuse controlled substance coupons, but most of them (like 99%) will take them, which is why we list them (and indicate that they may not be accepted). Hope that helps.
Answer: Hi Terry! You will need to present the coupon to the pharmacist, usually before, they fill a prescription. If you doctor's office is willing to do so for you then it may be okay, but we would suggest you present a new coupon each time you fill or refill. Sometimes our prices fluctuate and checking the coupons may get you a deeper discount. If you, or your doctor, presented a coupon and the pharmacist, for whatever reason, says the coupon cannot be used please give us a call at 1-888-799-2553, our Advocacy Team would love to assist you! Our hours are Monday-Sunday, between the hours of 8AM and 7PM CT.
Answer: Hi there - can we help you? Head to our help section for information on how we do business.
Answer: It takes very little time. Immediately after sign up you'll receive the information you need to purchase at our discounted rates.
Answer: Hi Shirley! We list coupons for Phentermine here: https://www.goodrx.com/phentermine Please be sure to update the script details and zip code to see prices for your area.
Answer: Please give our GoodRx support team a call at 888-799-2553, so they can contact the pharmacy regarding the price discrepancy, Steve. They're available Mon-Sun, from 6 AM to 9 PM CT.
Answer: GoodRx can be used in place of Medicaid as long as the two aren't combined. Please give us a call at 888-799-2553, so we can contact the pharmacy on your behalf. We're available Mon-Sun, from 6 AM to 9 PM CT.
Answer: Great question, Don! Since GoodRx compares prices at different pharmacies, there are sometimes lower prices with a GoodRx coupon. If you have a GoodRx Gold account, you are still able to use a GoodRx coupon if you find that it offers a better price for your prescription at a pharmacy in your area.
Answer: Hello there Anita, we're sorry for your frustrating experience at Walgreens. Please give us a call so we may investigate this and reach out to the pharmacy on your behalf. We can be reached at 888-799-2553, Monday through Sunday from 8am to 7pm CT.
