They are not veteran helpful. They admit the price online is not correct. I called the CR gentleman was nice but said the could not assist at all
Disappointed
The Goodrx web site under Frequently Asked Questions specifically the question Can I use GoodRx if I have insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid? States "GoodRx is for everyone, whether they have insurance or not. And while you can't combine GoodRx with your insurance to lower your copay, it may beat your copay — especially if you have a high-deductible." My spouse just tried to use GoodRX at our local pharmacy and was told she did qualify because she had a Federal health insurance plan. She was not trying to use her Fedreal Insurance Plan as the plan does not cover her medication and she was fully aware of the statement statement that stated you can't combine two different insurance policies, which she wasn't. So bottom line this so called plan is nothing but a scam!
Hi Ed! We’re sorry for the trouble your spouse had using a GoodRx coupon. You are correct that you should be able to use our coupons, even though you are enrolled in a federal plan. Please give our GoodRx Advocacy team a call at 888-799-2553, and we’d be happy to reach out to the pharmacy and look into this for you.
ALWAS ask your pharmacist, "What is the LEAST amount of money for filling this prescription? The pharmacist may be contractually unable to give a customer the lowest rice UNLESS this question is asked. Then the confidentiality restraint goes away and assuming the pharmacist acts professionally, they MUST offer the lowest price.
Although the GoodRX (or other discount offer may have a lower price one must consider the lower price in terms of meeting a deductible. Often (usually) after meeting the deductible future prices MAY be lower. If (in some cases) a patient will not meet the annual deductible then it is a decision has to be made.
GoodRX Gold was exceptional! It's the pharmacies that need to be educated. Initially CVS refused to apply the discount as they said my ID # did not exist. Within 15 minutes Alexis at GoodRX Gold customer service had solved the issue with them and my prescription was filled at the cost quoted to me by GoodRX which was $83 less than the cost at CVS without the card. It did take an extra 15 minutes BUT CVS says that they have the info on file for future refills so there shouldn't be future delays!
Thanks for the kind words! Not sure why the pharmacist was confused, as we work closely with CVS, but happy it got resolved. :)
I've been using GoodRx for over a year, for all of my prescriptions because I do not have rx coverage. I've never paid a different price than stated and I always use at Wal-mart.
I was skeptical at first. I believed that it was the type of website that says free but nothing is really free, you go and then see the cheap prices and it ask for you to sign up then ask for a credit card number. BUT NOPE it is not like that. You literally go on the site look up the medication, and majority of them has pictures so if it is for a recurring prescription you know what it looks like. They have the prices based off the drug store you will go and pick it up at, click that and it gives you the receipt for the cheaper price print it and out and go about your day. I was so stunned. I ordered my prescription from Walgreens and printed out the discount from GoodRX, my total at Walgreens would have been $41.99 (since I am in-between insurances right now this one is out of pocket I expected a high amount). The GoodRX price was 17 dollars I went and got it handed the coupon to the Pharmacist she typed the information in and was like ok that will now be $17 (YES!). I would totally recommend everyone try it, especially if you are in between insurances, do not have insurance or the medication you are picking up is not covered by your insurance. No need to pay full price when you do not have to.
Hello Catherine--We are so happy to hear that we are able to help you save on your prescriptions! Please let us know if we can help you with anything else in the future!
Reading other reviews, I knew prices being accepted might be an issue. I looked up a medication the through my insurance was going to be $1000 for 90 day supply. GoodRx price was $440 for 90 days at a local pharmacy. I called the pharmacy to confirm that they would accept the coupon. They confirmed they would. I contacted my Dr. and had the script sent to the pharmacy. The next day I contact them to see if it was ready and they said that the price was going to be $600. I confirmed the medication and amount with them. I cancelled the script. I then went to GoodRx.com to see what the price is. Sure enough, the $440 price was gone. Now the lowest price is $450 at another pharmacy. I'm not going to waste my time to find out that that price won't be accepted. Maybe for lower priced scripts they might be good, but I can neither confirm nor deny. I'm not going to waste my time.
UPDATE: Here is the response from GoodRx to my issue: "While our prices are typically very accurate, they are subject to change and are only valid for as long as the price is listed on our site. Unfortunately, we are unable to predict when a coupon will update as it is entirely dependent on which coupon provider is offering the best price at a specific pharmacy."
In other words, if you print a coupon on day 1, then go to the pharmacy on day 2, they don't have to honor the coupon. It's possible that this is only an issue with high priced and special medications, but it's not worth it to me to play a guessing came on prices.
Hello Matt. Sorry to hear about your issues. Just to be clear, our prices are based on contracted relationships with pharmacies - if the pharmacist told you it wouldn't be accepted, they were simply incorrect. We'd love to help - email help@goodrx.com if you'd like to pursue.
Good RX saves lots money, many times cheaper than insurance price. Thank you Good RX, just get prescription in hand find lowest price, I retired and didnt allow enuf money so many times only way I get my meds
Thanks!
Coupon was not the price indicated paid more! False advertisement! Pharmacist mentioned that happens a lot.
Hi there Nicole, the price you see on the coupon is the price you should expect to pay. Please give us a call so we may investigate this discrepancy. We can be reached at 888-799-2553, Monday through Sunday from 6am to 9pm CT.
Sticker shock for clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide gel for acne treatment: $424. That's the generic version, but Harken Health doesn't include on formulary. Found GoodRx coupon for $140 price on same drug, took it to Walkgreens and it worked! Thanks to GoodRx... and also thanks to Walgreen's for applying coupon AFTER the sale. Will recommend GoodRx to friends and family.
One example, Januvia (for Type II Diabetes) 30 pills for $500. Invokana, even more expensive. How can they can claim to save 80% on meds with a straight face? Ignore their TV commercials, total lies.
Hello Bradley--We sincerely apologize for the trouble, and would be more than happy to double check this for you! Please give us a call at 888-799-2553, and we will investigate immediately.
Had trouble using goodrx coupon called customer service they called the pharmacy and took care of it in just a few mimutes. My discout was applied. Would recommend it to anybody.
Contacted Good RX for a UTI, paid up front, naturally, answered some questions then got a response from an AI chatbot stating that I would receive a prescription. No prescription has been received, nor has anyone even bothered to ask what pharmacy I want to use, and nobody has responded to my follow up, even though it has exceeded the 4 hours for weekday services. And my service history is showing that this service is complete. I've used other telehealth services that don't use AI chatbots and actually got the services that I paid for. I just wish that I would have seen these reviews before I paid for this.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention Julie. We're sorry you had a negative experience with GoodRx Care. Although I have insurance with prescription drug coverage, a couple of medications are not covered at all. This year, 2016, in addition to those not covered, 1 went up to a $95. Co-pay per month! I saw a Goodrx advertisement on tv. I had nothing to lose by looking it up on the Internet. I was practically jumping with joy at the prices, number of places which accepted goodrx and close locations. Prior to this I really didn't know how I would pay for the necessary prescriptions. I thought others must be in the same predicament. I have told my doctors & their nurses/receptionists since they would know patients without insurance or poor prescription coverage. 2 told me their mother had expensive scripts not covered, this would be great for them.
FYI- just for an example, one of my medications covered last year and not this year, over $1,000. For 3 months. Yes, over one thousand dollars. I think 1300. With Goodrx, 57.87. Not all scripts are this dramatic of a savings, of course. My $95 copay med? $20. Give or take fifty cents.
You should call to be sure they do accept goodrx before choosing your pharmacy as others have stated. I have not had any problems, but have heard Sam's club no longer participates yet they are still listed on Goodrx site.
I cannot say enough good things about GoodRX. Tremendous savings at no charge.
Thanks!
I save over $300.00 every month on my prescription, without goodrx coupon my script can run from $425.00 - $500.00, with the coupon I pay $45.00 for 14 pills times 2 for a months supply which is less than $100.00. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE GOODRX AND RECOMMEND IT EVERY CHANCE I CAN. I recommended at Rite Aid today for an elderly lady who was questioning the price of her script and asking about a coupon or something, I told her about Good rx and she couldn't believe it and thanked me up and down. Not sure why the pharmacist didn't tell her about it but they didn't and weren't so happy that I did, oh well!
Just got back from the pharmacy. I took the print out of the price on the script, that I printed out yesterday, and the pharmacy said that the price was 3(tree) times as much. Called GoodRX on the spot and after holding for over 10 minutes on my cell - costing me minuites - GoodRX said that the pharmacy was correct since the dosage was different. This was for a colonoscopy prep. It's powder in a plastic bottle that is a standard.
In addition the pharmacy just flat lied and then made up a bunch of stuff to explain why what they supplied was not what the doctor ordered. If it's generic, fine, I get it, but part of the excuses they gave was that the price quoted from GoodRX was generic.
As an aside this was Wal-Mart - figures. It's also a bit disturbing to watch, while I was on hold, and see one of the pharmacy techs repeatedly stick her fingers in her mouth and then manually count out pills and put them in a bottle to fill a script.

Follow-up: It's interesting that a rebuttal shows up here on the site from GoodRX but you can't see my response to GoodRX with the specifics of what is wrong with their rebuttal. I can only respond to them with a private message.
It would appear that someone doesn't want the entire exchange to be seen!

Hi Harry - While we're sorry for your experience, we just want to be clear - our price was correct, but it sounds like you looked up the wrong dosage, form and quantity? We always want to ensure that folks have a good experience with us, and you're welcome to email help@goodrx.com so we can help resolve.
My husband has no perscription coverage uses VA. At times needs antibiotic now. Used Good RX at Walgreens on Levaquin 750 mg x 7 pills cost $36.94, savings $174.00, that's amazing. Thank You GOOD RX
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with GoodRx! We are very happy to hear we were able to help you save.
CVS does not accept this card. It's all a scam. They told us it was only good for a brand new prescription, and only good one time. Does nothing for existing meds.
Ridiculous.
Hello Gina--We’re very sorry if you experienced trouble using our coupons at your local CVS pharmacy. Our prices are generally very accurate and pharmacies are contractually obligated to accept our discounts under most circumstances. Our Advocacy Team would love to look into this for you! Please contact us at 888-799-2553 and we’ll investigate immediately.
I had a prescription that was going to be almost $500 for the month! Goodrx brought it down to $120 which I thought was a HUGE savings! I will recommend this company to anyone and everyone!
I filled 2 RX at Costco today that normally cost me $244 using my MedicareAdvantage plan benefit. With GoodRx coupons I saved $157. Can't beat those savings!
Answer: Yes we do. Just present coupon to save. Have a nice day
Answer: If you have any questions, we're here to help - please email help@goodrx.com and we'll get back quickly. Pharmacists have the discretion to honor or refuse controlled substance coupons, but most of them (like 99%) will take them, which is why we list them (and indicate that they may not be accepted). Hope that helps.
Answer: Hi Terry! You will need to present the coupon to the pharmacist, usually before, they fill a prescription. If you doctor's office is willing to do so for you then it may be okay, but we would suggest you present a new coupon each time you fill or refill. Sometimes our prices fluctuate and checking the coupons may get you a deeper discount. If you, or your doctor, presented a coupon and the pharmacist, for whatever reason, says the coupon cannot be used please give us a call at 1-888-799-2553, our Advocacy Team would love to assist you! Our hours are Monday-Sunday, between the hours of 8AM and 7PM CT.
Answer: Hi there - can we help you? Head to our help section for information on how we do business.
Answer: It takes very little time. Immediately after sign up you'll receive the information you need to purchase at our discounted rates.
Answer: Hi Shirley! We list coupons for Phentermine here: https://www.goodrx.com/phentermine Please be sure to update the script details and zip code to see prices for your area.
Answer: Please give our GoodRx support team a call at 888-799-2553, so they can contact the pharmacy regarding the price discrepancy, Steve. They're available Mon-Sun, from 6 AM to 9 PM CT.
Answer: GoodRx can be used in place of Medicaid as long as the two aren't combined. Please give us a call at 888-799-2553, so we can contact the pharmacy on your behalf. We're available Mon-Sun, from 6 AM to 9 PM CT.
Answer: Great question, Don! Since GoodRx compares prices at different pharmacies, there are sometimes lower prices with a GoodRx coupon. If you have a GoodRx Gold account, you are still able to use a GoodRx coupon if you find that it offers a better price for your prescription at a pharmacy in your area.
Answer: Hello there Anita, we're sorry for your frustrating experience at Walgreens. Please give us a call so we may investigate this and reach out to the pharmacy on your behalf. We can be reached at 888-799-2553, Monday through Sunday from 8am to 7pm CT.
