Your quote was in cad currency but when i completed the booking the rate for cxx penalty is quoted in usd. That should not be. Creates insecurity and confusion as to which currency it was booked in.

We arrived and were told we had to have a credit card for a $25 deposit and they wouldn't accept the card we had so we had to go across town to put money on a different card. It showed on the site when I booked the room that EVERYTHING was included in the price I paid including deposits.

The Hotel advertised the restaurant Reds and a spa message in room. Upon arriving we see that they are doing renovation. We arrived around noon to check in. Went to the hotel clerk and told him we had reservations, he stated that we could not check in till 4pm. We asked about the restaurant and was told Reds is not available do to the construction. Asked about the in room message and was told nobody was available on that day. This was not on their site and I even tried call the day I was making the reservations but when I called I was getting a wrong number every time. (HUMMM) so booked with this site. Email confirmation did not have the check in time either.
Called getaroom and they refused to refund our money. So I went to the hotel clerk and asked to cancel and told him I felt I was not getting what I paid for. He said I needed to go through the site that I made the reservations through. I said I did and they would not refund me. I then said that they are suppose to call the hotel and discuss this with them, which they did not. He said he would put in the system that we canceled and to see if we could get refunded. Got a call about 10 min after posting this and problem resolved

I was led to believe I was making reservations with Hilton. They charged an additional tax, recovery and service fee charge of $286.67. For what? It was never mentioned on the call. I've never experienced other sites that were so sneaky and deceptive. Stay away. THIS WAS NOT RESOLVED SATISFACTORILY IN SPITE OF THEIR RESPONSE!

**UPDATE-Getaroom contacted me and issued me a 20% refund which was appreciated. Great customer serivce.**
They charged me $100 more than the actual hotel charge. I made the mistake of thinking I was on the hotels website when I booked and paid. $90 in fees when the hotel charges $18. Complete rip-off!

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
