Freedom Pop commits fraud on a regular basis. I am reporting them to the NYS attorney general for using credit card information that the company does not even have permission to keep on file but they have used. They refuse to refund the so called "top off fee" that they were NEVER EVER authorized to charge in the first place. And charging $6.95 per month to prevent charging $20 is also not even legal.
I had FreedomPop as my service provider for about two years, and while the service coverage was fine and usually worked well, the customer service was not nearly as good. There were times I had to wait for several days before even receiving a response from their customer service team, and when I did, it was only minimally helpful. Their service is quite cheap compared to other providers, but with the lackluster customer service, I don't think it's worth it.
I never could get the service up and running and they refused to speak to me on the phone. They kept emailing me for support, so I cancelled their services. That was 2 yrs ago. Now my bank alerted me that they are trying to charge me 23.98, but my bank rejected the transaction and will continue to do so since it is not valid. Do not do service with these folks. I can't even get them on the phone to talk to me about this issue. TERRIBLE PLACE. BE WARNED.
By the time you realize that you are paying extra for all the services given by top providers, you are better off going with a name brand provider, your bill is gonna be the same and service is very poor.
Really great CONCEPT, free internet. BUT, after seeing a report on the news this morning I decided to visit their website to have a look. Somehow I think they are doing a little data mining, because after browsing around and clicking off the site I noticed that my "junk folder" had messages by guess who? Yep, freedompop! I didn't give out any info when I viewed the site, so just how did they get my email address? NOT COOL.
Other that a few dropped calls I have had no problems with this product and the price is amazing! I have had it in my iPhone 6 for a couple months now and I am planing on getting 3 more for my wife and kids!
I not going to say everyone will have no problems but if you arnt expecting everything in a cell phone plan for free, an look at all plans products reviews and then try freedompop yourself youll be a very happy camper
They would not give my a refund for a phone and service i never used. They would not answer my phone calls or and were my questions through email. I was ready to file a small claim please do that if they are giving you trouble. They are not worth the headache. They are basically thieves with a business licence. There is even a face book group called victims of freedom pop. I am really surprised why this company still exists. I bet you the people writing the good reviews are the people who work for the company, and that is part of their job. If they have not give you your refund, let them know you will file a claim
FreedomPop is a scam. There is literally NO support or Valid contact info. Their fake phone number runs you in circles and there is no way to cancel, and they charge you for having the account.
When I purchased my Sim kit, I tried to pay with PayPal. Because it didn't immediately go through, I was prompted to use a credit card & I did. I was setting this phone line up for my elderly mother. After an aggravating startup, everything was fine until my account was canceled because PayPal didn't pay (nevermind the fact I paid with my debit/visa). When calling to inquire about this, I was on hold for 18 minutes & then hung up on. I called back & held for approximately 12 minutes to be told I can never have an account there because I stopped the PayPal payment, although they took $17.98 from my bank account. I lost $17.98, my mother has no phone or phone service, & I am highly displeased with this company/experience.
The concept is great, just like back in the day when companies were giving out free dial up internet accounts just to introduce the service to you. But there is always a catch with free and here it is that they are trying to up sell on a wide variety of additional services. $10 automatic top-up after you sign up... meaning they will bill you monthly to get additional services. Still, it isn't that bad of a deal and there is no contract which is very nice.
Freedompop is a complete scam. I had purchased their hotspot device for something like $55 and I was supposed to receive FREE 500mg of data each month. Well, somehow they started charging me $3.99/month and when I denied paying them, they cancelled my account. Trying to get anyone on the phone is IMPOSSIBLE. This is clearly some type of major scam and I am surprised the government hasn't shut them down yet!
The website FreedomPop is really useful for me in all aspects. It is well known to everyone that internet are one of the most important thing in day to day life, and so that from the website, they are generally providing all types of information in a greater aspect. So in general all these information is really useful.
Don't ever deal with this company. I tried there service a long time ago and it was very bad service calls wouldn't go thru half the time etc. I cancelled it about a year ago now all of a sudden about a year later they automatically debit money from my paypal account and when I contact them they claim I had service and it was payment for service from them they will absolutely not refund my money. You can't even call the company and talk to a person all you can do is email them. Don't ever get involved with them!
First, I got a SIM card for use in a cheap unlocked phone for my son. I only wanted him to have an emergency phone if he was out somewhere with friends. It worked great. Since I tend to forget my phone from time to time, I decided the price was right to get a cheap phone to use as a back up in my car. It's a little buggy from time to time, but overall, it has worked when I needed it.
I spend a few days a week getting therapy and medical care from a facility that doesn't offer wifi. I spend the off-time on my laptop but wanted internet access. I bought a Franklin Wireless wifi hotspot device from FreedomPop and I love it - everything from email and Facebook to streaming video. I couldn't be happier and I would recommend FreedomPop to everyone with similar needs or anyone needing portable wifi!
The phone service works, it is spotty and the phone resets randomly and you can't make, receive calls, or send and get txts.
My main issue is the free 30 days trial phone they sent had a defective battery, this phone was $250, I sent it back May 17th and have been hounding them for my refund and have actually had two separate customer service people tell me it was in the works 3 to 5 days at end of June in email, I have copies of conversations... and it is July 31st and they have now stopped responding to all emails I send and do not contact me back at all.
Basically they have just stolen $250 from me through no fault of my own. It has been over two months since they have received the trial phone.
Do not use them, their customer service is horrible and service is not great, along with their business practices being straight up stealing from consumers.
After just 3 days i gave up. Service is horrible, I ported my a number that I had for years to them and after trying to port out for days I gave up. I lost my number and had many days of frustration. Not worth even for free.
My device stopped working. I needed help. I called *******107 on May 8,2015. Nobody answered the phone just music after half an hour I hang up. Today, May 11,2015 I called *******785 I had the same problem. Nobody answered the phone just music. Again after half an hour I hang up. I don't know what to do now I don't have internet.

Order never shipped. Customer service doesn't work. They require a phone number to speak to a live, which they don't give you until your order ships. This means no customer service until shipping, so if you have shipping problems, no help.
Answer: I know of three telephone #s for "Freedompop": 800-228-9207 888-743-8107 855-703-5785 If you can't reach a representative at any of these #s (I very recently had success with 888-743-8107 and they helped me with my billing issue), GO TO FREEDOMPOP.COM AND LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT (hope you remember your password!). THEN, CLICK ON (or, just hover over) "MY ACCOUNT" ATOP PAGE From its drop-down list, THEN CHOOSE "ACCOUNT SETTINGS" At the bottom of that page, you should see "DEACTIVATE ACCOUNT." (Click on it and follow subsequent instructions)
Answer: Because they rip you of with small amounts (on a monthly basis), so many don't realize, once you do it's too late, and for the last charge you dispute it, but you don't care wasting time to report this... And those who are really on top and make sure not to be overbilled, they make sure to tell you that they are selling all their to a new carrier, so they get rid of you!
Answer: No you cant, they are garbage, not worth wasting your time on
Answer: Get away from these people soon as possible! You are going to have to change your credit card soon.
