August 27, 2024

Flair airlines canceled our flight 3 hours before the flight, they didn't refund the money (more than 900$), worst experience ever!

Worst Airline EVER
June 5, 2024

Your purse is considered your personal item and EVERYTHING else you pay for. $77. For an item that met their personal item requirements and weighed ten pounds. I am disgusted and dismayed. Fly West Jet or Porter. Cheaper.

While Flair airline may appear to offer budget-friendly options, they often tack on additional fees for seemingly minor things such as baggage weight or size. This can quickly add up and make their supposedly cheap flights not so cheap after all. Therefore, I would not recommend Flair airline to anyone looking for a hassle-free and affordable flying experience.

- If you call Customer service- after stating trip id system says press 1 or say yes. Only works when saying yes. Pressing 1 gives you message "we're sorry, please say trip id". A small fix needed which will create a great impact. But, they don't care about customers.
- I overpaid for checked in baggage and called. You'll be on hold for 45 min/1 hour without anyone taking your call. I tried a couple of times and never could speak with anyone.
- Chatbot will gather your info and you've to wait for a live agent to text you
- Everything is extra fee. For add on, you've to pay separately for up and down trip. Two transactions, extra fees - tried to avoid that and pay for both ways, payment got posted double in return trip only. When I reached the airport - I was asked to pay when I put my luggage on the conveyer belt. I was carrying the printout. Presented. But, they said they couldn't do anything. They gave me a small printout with customer service contact number and asked me to call. That was the beginning of my misery. Nobody picked up. Chatbot did connect to a human. He couldn't process refund. I was given an email address. It took hours for me to get in contact to where I should contact.
- There's no in flight entertainment even for 5 hour flights
- Flight attendants don't even offer water for free. They'll ask you to purchase a bottle. Food of course isn't included.
- Carry on bags extra. Checked in luggage extra. And Flair proudly announce that on their website in big and bold. "Did you know we charge extra for carry-on?" It's an insult. They should add that small fee in the ticket price and try to compete with competition. Unfortunately they don't understand customer needs. "Customer Satisfaction" or even better - "Customer Delight" are a notch above their head.
- Air hostess said "you can put it in the overhead bin if it fits". Didn't even offer to help putting my bag on overhead bin.
- No nets at the back of the seats to keep bottle or tissues
- They'll ask you to take off your waist bag where I keep passport and money and ask you to put it under the seat

I booked through Expedia. There was a problem with my first leg of my trip. I had to make changes. With ALL THE EXTRA fees my $980 trip for four turned into $2500 trip. Got charged a call center fee for EACH TICKET when THEIR website was admittedly down. Have had over 30 emails and calls and they REFUSE to issue ANY KIND of refund. Just as an aside the LEG ROOM was horrendous and seats COULD NOT be reclined to help make it any more comfortable.

I have flown A LOT and this was the WORST FLYING and CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I have ever had.

Flight Delay
March 4, 2024

Experienced two unexpected delays with Flair Airlines, resulting in significant inconvenience. Disappointed with the service and punctuality, the organizational management appears to face significant challenges and may benefit from improvements. Rated 1.5 stars based on the frustrating travel experience.

Amazing Low-Cost Experience
February 18, 2024

Loved my experience! I was surprised by the comfort level for a low-cost flight. We took other flights after (other companies) and had less leg room in regular airlines.
The staff was super kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend.
Obviously, this is a low-cost option: one should not expect the same level of service as a flag carrier like Air Canada, but you are paying a lot less too. To me, it makes sense.
I would definitely fly with Flair again!

Horrid
February 14, 2024

Avoid this airline at all costs. They find ways to charge more money at every chance they get. My wife and I travelled together, yet our seats were assigned at opposite ends of the airplane. We tried to switch the seats as there were MANY to choose from, but they wanted an additional 50$ plus another check-in charge for the baggage. Even though we already paid the bagged check-in fee, which is $190 by the way. Canada Airline is $65 and for military it is free. Definitely going with them next time.

One- Why would you separate a couple travelling together? We just got married too.

Two- My wife has ASD and a major social anxiety disorder, and was placed between two complete strangers. There were two free seats next to me. This is completely unacceptable and slimy.

What a disappointment.

I gave them a rating of 1 star for 2 reasons: 1) That is the minimum stars to have this published. 2) The plane did not crash! Took them on January 20, returned on Feb.2 If you like tiny legroom, non-reclining seats, no power outlets, tons of delayed and cancelled flights, horrible customer service, waiting on the phone for more than 1 hour, non-knowledgeable phone agents, paying exhorbitant fees for carry-on & checked luggage, then this is the airline that is PERFECT for you. They had planes seized last year for non-payment to their suppliers, so if you have a voucher or reservation from them, good luck using it. They will be out of business within a very short period of time. A pony express will get you to your destination faster than Flair. I guess Flair stands for: Frequently Late And Is Repugnant!

Flight was cancelled twice after being delayed over 3 hours both times. Waste of a day for everyone flying. No heads up but other airlines cancelled with enough time to not waste a day of travel. Very poor communication at the gate. Poor communication between airline, airport, and employees. Will never fly with them again

The worst airline FLAIR!
February 1, 2024

I experienced the same issues as many others. They charge for seats even when couples are flying together, suggesting a deliberate strategy to increase costs. This practice seems intentional and raises concerns about fair treatment for passengers. The dimensions for personal luggage are smaller compared to other airlines. It feels like an attempt to extract more money from passengers, which is disappointing and seems misleading

Unreliable company.
January 12, 2024

Worst flight I ever took. We were supposed to leave from Ottawa (this is why we selected Flair). After buying the tickets, we received a notice indicating the flight we booked was to leave from Montreal instead of Ottawa! We had to take the train, at our own expense, to go to Montréal to take the flight. On that flight, there was no tablet, no pouch, absolutely nowhere to put our water bottles (the do not have water on board of this plane... how cheap can you get!). The supposedly application to access menu or view movies was not working: No Wi-Fi on board! In 2024? How cheap can they be? Most annoying flight we ever did! We landed in Cancun much later than expected, causing loosing one evening at the resort, arriving too late for restaurant or buffet, we had to have dinner at midnight with room service. On the way back, the flight was delayed because of staff shortage; how unprofessional can this company be? We finally took off late and made it home at 3am instead of 11 am as planned! Bad Bad Bad! Flair? Never again! Never!

DO NOT FLY FLAIR AIR
November 21, 2023

I will NEVER use this airline again. It was absolute hell from start to finish. They have massive lines to check in, with everyone who gets up to the desk being asked to re-pack their bags right there. So everyone's really stressed with all their belongings out all over the place right from the get go. When you finally get up to the desk, they threaten to charge you for checking in, and say you can avoid this by using their check-in app. So you have to stand off to the side and struggle with this app that absolutely does not work. They charge $80 to check a bag, and they also charge you for your carry on bags, which they invariably make you unpack and re-pack so they can fit into these ridiculously small test compartments. I had a flight with a layover in Vancouver, and they made me pay that $80 twice because it was a long layover. At the gate, it's the same story. Everyone stressed out, being forced to pay extra fees, unpacking and repacking. On the flight, you don't even get water.

Flair's advertised low fares can be deceiving, as they often employ questionable marketing tactics to attract more passengers and then hit them with additional charges during the boarding process. These additional fees are often related to luggage that supposedly doesn't meet their specifications, even if you're carrying a small bag. It's essential to exercise extra caution when flying from Abbotsford airport, as the crew there has a reputation for being unprofessional and seemingly intent on extracting more money from passengers by claiming that their personal items don't fit within their measuring tools. When passengers attempt to voice their concerns or complaints, they are often met with disrespectful behavior from the airline staff.

Never again choose flair airline
October 28, 2023

I recently had a flight with Flair Airlines, and my experience was highly unsatisfactory. In the first leg of my journey, the flight was delayed by more than 2.5 hours. This delay inconvenienced me and other passengers significantly. To compound the issue, in the second leg of my journey, Flair Airlines took off without me and eight other passengers, leaving us stranded at the airport. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated with the service provided by Flair Airlines

SCAM AIRLINES should not even be allowed to operate in Canada. We expect better from any Canadian company. I know my complaints will get lost in the tens of thousands of other complaints, but I feel compelled to add one more. RUDENESS seems to be an employee prerequisite, not only to Rose (if that's her real name) the gate agent at YVR, but also the Philippino call centre (would you have expected it to be in Canada?) Agent and supervisor. Absolutely no one cares or can do anything. Why are they charging for a personal item that will easily fit under the seat in front? They say their maximum is 6 inches (do they not know what Metric is?). A folded over coat is thicker than 6". What a useless airline. NEVER EVER FLYING THEM AGAIN. DONT CARE HOW CHEAP IT IS. $80 for a personal item is extortion.

Father dying of cancer? Sucks to be you.
October 13, 2023
Updated review

Abysmal customer service, my father, dying of cancer, deteriorated faster than what the doctors suspected. Even after calling them, they actively refused any accommodation or alteration to flights. It was more expensive to cancel the flights then how expensive they were in the first place. No expectations to policy, despite my father dying of cancer. Use this airline at your won risk, they don't see you as human your just a wallet.

Don't cancel your flight
March 20, 2022
Previous review

Flair airlines only offers travel credit if you cancel your flight. What they don't tell you (anywhere on their website) is how to use it and how painful they'll make it for you.

You HAVE to call in. But calling in takes hours till they finally get to you. And they only guarantee the price online for 15 minutes. They do not actually credit your account or provide you any reasonable means to access the credit.

Their ONLY draw is the low price. But considering the hours I would take getting my credit back I would consider that I lost all that money starting on hold. They should have a credit system connected to your account, it wouldn't take long to implement that on a website. Considering that they do not provide any information on how to use that credit and how difficult they make I have to assume malicious intent. Their is no reason it should be those difficult. They know what their doing and they are just trying to stay from you. Do not use this airline, the one draw is just a cover to screw you later.
