Fandango told me a movie was playing at a certain cinema, I get to the counter to find out they put the incorrect movie theater and the correct one was 20 minutes away. This movie was only playing 1 time that day. Will not be using this website ever again.
Issue with a gift card. The gift card was short 1.80 the system will not allow us to pay the difference. To get a hold of customer service is just impossible.
We have been on hold for 40 minutes. Totally unacceptable! The Movie will be over before the answer the phone. Don't by a gift card. Big Rip off!
#1. This should be you're very last choice to purchase tickets from. For a company with such a well known name, it is amazing how bad of a company it is, as you can read from the reviews.
#2. Double check your order, if you make a mistake of any kind, good luck on getting a refund.
A. I used this service for the first time a week ago. I entered a name of a town I was visiting. What I ended up purchasing was 6 tickets in a town with the same name in a different state. I called fandango BEFORE the movie started, I could not get through. I sent a e-mail immediately afterword. And for the last week I have been receiving emails from there cust service telling me they do not have enough information.
B. I got through today, after a very long wait on hold. They told me I was SOL, not there problem and to contact the theater in the state that was purchased. I am now out $70.

I received two $25 Fandango gift cards for Christmas. I had no idea how they worked... went to their website and still could not figure it out. Found out at the theater that the cards are only good for movies (I assumed a gift card would cover both tickets and concessions). Was advised I had to enter the code on my phone and wait for a confirmation and then go to the counter and show the movie staff. The price at the theater for my 4 tickets would have been $5.75 each so I figured one gift card would cover that... wrong! I was charged a $5 service fee which made me have to use my other gift card. I have a balance on that one so I am guessing next time I go to use it, I will get charged another service fee. So basically, a $25 gift card is not really worth $25. And, I don't see the point when I can just go to the theater and purchase my tickets there for less. Will never recommend Fandango!
My father passed away and I wanted to take my mother out for a movie. After buying tickets through Fandango, I realized that the theater requires you to reserve your seat ahead of time. The few seats available were spread all throughout the theater. Fandango refused to change me to a later showtime, a different theater, or refund my money, even though I contacted them several hours before the showtime. Terrible, rude customer service, and a HORRIBLE exchange/return policy. Will NEVER give waste another penny of my money on them.
This company does not care about customer service in the slightest! Do yourself and favor and do not buy from them at all. This person that was talking to me was rude, not personable and clearly did NOT care about my issue at all. She told me if i wanted to speak with a manager to call and then disconnected our chat window.
I accidentally purchased tickets to the wrong theater and immediately requested a refund. I noticed that my tickets were refunded, however they still charged me a $6.50 service fee. I called and explained what had happened and the refused to refund their service fee claiming this was their policy, no exceptions! I will no longer use their app or purchase their gift cards.
Purchased 4 tickets to Jurasic World and never got the confirmation. However, my account was charged. I went on their CHAT line and was told there were 49 ahead of me. When it got to me it told me that there was no longer an agent available. Have been phone line waiting for 40 minutes and still on hold. Keeps telling me to check my VIP account. VIP account does not show the purchase but my paypal account does. I will never use Fandango again. Save yourself the headache and purchase your tickets at the theater.
I was given fandango gift cards. I have tried numerous times on numerous days to purchase tickets and the site always errors out. Their site is VERY poor as it is overloaded and won't allow you to buy tickets. The customer service was no help...they just said to keep trying. I recommend that no one purchase gift cards or tickets from fandango due to thier inability to serve their customers.
I will never use Fandango again. Nor will I look at Rotten Tomatoes to guide my dollars and movie pick. Baby Driver with 92% favorable Rotten Tomatoes? You must be kidding. It was terrible. And the fact that theaters can't refund you tickets if you can't make a show, ridiculous.
Posting closed caption showtimes would be of great help to the deaf and hard of hearing audiences. If I could give less than a star for their customer service I most definitely would. Sure I am glad I never bought movie tickets for Christmas and birthdays and gave cash instead.
I wish I had read the reviews for Fandango before buying the gift cards. What a mistake! Basically 25% of the value of my $25 gift card is eaten up by convenience fees. This is a huge rip off and the company should be ashamed of itself.
I bought five tickets to a show and was charged an exorbitant $10 fee for this "convenience." When one of my friends became ill and had to miss the show, Fandango refused to refund for the one ticket, saying the only option was to cancel the entire order. Ripoff operation, time for a customer friendly competitor to take Fandango's place in the world of business.
Also, they don't send you printable tickets, another major Fandango Customer Inconvenience.
They tell you to claim your "rewards" only to find out that you have to purchase more points to get the rewards you supposedly already got. How stupid do they think people actually are? And now, there is a "convenience fee" applied to every ticket you buy. How "convenient" they make it to be ripped off. I boycott companies that purposely delude people. Bye bye, FanScamO
Attempted twice to purchase tickets, was charged twice and twice received a message... SORRY we are unable to process your order. Please try a different showtime. BUT you had no problem charging my account! Then when I call Fandango they refund my money BUT NOT THE SERVICE FEE. Why not. OH we will have to forward this to corporate office YES please do. I will never use this app again! Very annoying and not worth it!
I was VERY hesitant to use their services for a long time. However, I have decided to give it a try - bought Groupon then movie tickets for "Dunkirk" through fandango... and lost all the money. AMC managers couldn't help because tickets were bought via fandango. So, I bought new movie tickets for full price on the spot and it was Impossible to reach the fandango customer service before, during or after the movie. Bye, bye money...:-) Awful. Will never use this scam again ever. How do they stay in business?
I can honestly say I will never use Fandango again in my life and will tell every single person I meet never to use their horrible services either. Because of dangerous road conditions due to snow and ice, we decided no to go see a movie. Called customer service to cancel the tickets and get a refund but was placed on hold for over 45 minutes and it apparently "took to long" to type out the problem and send it to customer service so we were disconnected. Because Fandango put us on hold for so long, it is now to close to the start time of the movie to get a refund.
I had a promo code and didn't realize I had the wrong date until after purchasing the tickets. I immediately contacted customer service to try and switch the date since it is still days from now. They offered a refund but told me but promo code was worthless and they would not issue a new one. A simple mistake using their terrible website and the customer suffers from it. I will never use their website again. I noticed just now that over 90% of the reviews here are the lowest rating. Clearly they are a company not worth dealing with. Spread the word how terrible they are.
Got a free movie rental promo code, punched it in online and it accepted it. Went to rent a movie and said code was no longer valid. Contacted customer support and they said they never give out promo codes. Don't waste your time, you can rent movies everywhere else for cheaper and less hassle.
Folks! An area where you are able to control the errors that you experience on your purchases, is to use the summary page provided on checkout.
This will eliminate the need to request your money back and be disappointed when they are not able to offer it.
If you wish to make changes to your order this will allow you to click the orange F to the left of your checkout screen to start the process again. Never select the browser back button because this will create more problems than can be solved.
This is the best advice that I can offer, my wife used to work there, and she had to leave because of the stress of not being able to help with things that the customer has control over. These guys are not bad at all, but match your expectations to what they tell you on the information pages rather than what you think the company should be.

Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
