I purchased 3 tickets to Oppenheimer through Fandango and then remembered I had a doctor's appointment at that time. I went to the theater and got a refund instantly for their portion of the tickets. I was still out the Fandango "convenience fee" so I called their 800 number to get a refund. No dice. So then I called my credit card company and obtained an instant refund on the disputed convenience fee. I will never use Fandango again.
I got a coupon for a free movie ticket from IHOP (Spent $30 at IHOP and submitted my reciept as per IHOPs rules for the coupon). Unfortunately the time I used the ticket (plus 3.10 of my own money to upgrade it to a 3D ticket) conflicted with a family member's schedule, so I wouldn't be able to make it as I am unable to drive. I tried to contact fandango customer service the day before the movie ticket was scheduled for (as per Fandango's refund/exhange rules) and was told by the customer service rep to wait on a call back to see whether or not they'd be able to change my ticket time. While waiting on the call back, I missed the movie entirely. After calling in to customer service multiple times, being taken in verbal circles and treated VERY rudely and hung up on by a second rep, I was told by the second and even a THIRD rep that there was no way to refund or exchange the ticket since it was purchased with a coupon, even though I only missed the movie because of the first rep never getting back to me or leaving a note in their system to do so. They even tried to shift the blame onto me by asking why I didn't call them again before the movie time had passed, even though I was waiting on THEM to call ME. I even had to go through my bank to get the extra 3.10 I spent back, since they were refusing to refund anything!
TLDR: Be careful with deal coupons from external companies, as Fandango will not accept responsibility for them, and do nothing but push the blame off on you! Had to go through my bank to get the extra money spent back.

I recently purchased 4 tickets to a movie through Fandango. After getting to the theater and realizing the tickets had been purchased for the wrong theater (my honest mistake), Fandango would not grant a refund because the error was called in 10 minutes after showtime started.
$50+ dollar later, I had to look at my 6 and 8 year old and tell them we weren't seeing the movie.
When I called Fandango 2x, they kept quoting the "policy" that they won't give refund after showtime.
Again, it was an honest mistake and they should try to help their customer. Super super dissatisfied with their service and feel ripped off. Poor business practice.

Got to the movies after purchasing tickets on Fandango and couldn't sit and watch the movie because their A/C wasn't working, Fandango was rude and would not refund or credit us, please only buy your tickets through the actual threatre and save yourself the headache.

And, I was sort of panicking since no agent was available to chat. I've been ordering the same tickets since last year. The last successful order was made on July 13 2023. Then on July 14, they locked my account. Customer Service told me to wait 48 hours before placing another order. But I didn't get any response from Fandango. On July 20 I ordered some tickets, and this time I used my friend's account because I don't know the status of my account. When I asked my friends to order tickets for me, Fandango locked their accounts. Now I found out my Fandango account is under investigation for fraud. What a joke. Please read other reviews other people have posted. They are the real fraudster.
Do not buy tickets via Fandango! Waited for over 20 mins only to get someone who didn't speak English well and was clueless. I asked for a supervisor and they just just stopped the chat and left. Buy direct from the theater.

My daughter broke her finger by slamming it in the car door while going into the movie. We had ten minutes until movie time. We rushed our daughter to the ER instead of calling fandango of course. While in the ER, I called customer service and they said that no refund or credit could be issued since it was passed the movie start time. I bought two tickets to see the spiderman movie the next day and they did not email the confirmation. They charged money but never gave me my seats. This is a scam, BEWARE DO NOT BUY YOUR TICKETS FROM FANDANGO. Because of the refund policy, I cant even get a refund. They will steal your money.
I had a question about my tickets so I contacted customer service on the website. I waited for over 20 minutes waiting for the guy to respond to my question, in the chat it said he was typing. After 22 minutes I sent the customer service guy a message stating never mind, I'll just call customer service in the morning but when I hit send the message disappeared. So I sent another just saying "tester" and that also disappeared. This made me have to close the chat. I wasn't asked how I wanted to rate the service so I don't know if it glitched or if I was being ignored.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
