Fraud
July 27, 2017

Booked a hotel for a colleague and used my cc to reserve it, the cc wasn't supposed to be charged. The colleague paid with his cc, it shows on the receipt. Found out my cc and their cc was charged. Expedia said it wasn't charged, had to do a charge back with my bank. Will never book anything through them for work matters. Never have an issue with priceline.

I changed a flight for two people. I called to see what credit I would get if I canceled. At the end of the call, I specifically asked if I could use the credit for one person and only pay one fee of $75. I was told yes.
When I went to rebook they told me it would be $150. I disputed this. They said they listened to the tapes, which they could not have because I have 0 doubt.
So after 3 hours and 19 minutes on the phone, 8 days of waiting for an answer instead of 5, and my flight increasing $70, in this time. They denied my request.
Horrible experience

We booked a hotel room on Expedia for 2 rooms for a single night for our family to stay overnight in Rome before catching a flight home the following morning. When we arrived we were concerned about the location and general appearance of the hotel. However, we checked in anyway. When we got to our rooms there were terrrible. The room for our kids actually had a couple of bugs on the ceiling and had a putrid smell. I approached the clerk at the front desk and politely explained the circumstance. I dd not see how I could ask my family to stay there. I politely requested a refund from the hotel and contacted Expedia as well. Neither was willing to help, and when I disputed it through my CC company, they sent a response indicating I didn't cancel the room per their policy. No, I didn't cancel, I showed up and it was nasty - this certainly wasn't in the online photos of the hotel!

Covid prevented me from taking a trip last June that was booked through Expedia. Now they won't help me get a refund from the airlines. Do not use Expedia. They are just a contractor for the airlines. They do not care about their customer, the consumer.

My family and I booked our hotel a month ago in Nashville and it was confirmed. However, as we are on our way to the hotel we thought we booked we get a call saying that they overbooked us, therefore making us have to change our destination and find a new hotel even though we were already on our way to the other one. Thanks so $#*!in much Expedia. You are a big big help, just kidding, $#*! you. I recommend to everyone, do not trust Expedia. I have heard this happen to other people too and now we have experienced as well.

Horrible Experience! DO NOT EVER use Expedia or Enterprise car rental. Both companies are a joke and do not care about their customers. I reserved a full size car and when I went to pick up Enterprise did not have a car for me. They gave me a compact piece of crap car. They sent me to the airport 30 minutes away and said they would exchange it for me. Once I got there I was told they do not exchange cars. I got on the phone with both Expedia and Enterprise and they were both worthless and did not care about helping me. It was the most frustrating and horrible experience I have ever had with any company. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT EVER book through Expedia or use Enterprise.

I am oversea now and can not get the real customer service to talk to. The robot anssered the questions did not help at all. The hell of the website.

I have not used Expedia extensively, but when I have, I have found service to be helpful. Once I made a mistake in dates that could have cost me a significant amount of money, but Expedia resolved my problem without costing me a penny.

I have used Expedia extensively since the year 2000. I have used it to find flights and to rent cars when I traveled. The ease of use is there and it has a quick response to any querys. You can pick from flights, flights with hotels and flights, hotels and cars. It also has packages available for your choice when you travel.

Do not get the car rental insurance through Expedia. It is through a third party and nonrefundable. It appears as you are getting it through the rental company but not the case. I will not use Expedia ever again. Too shady.

Scam 1: Per a phone reservation with Expedia.com, they sold me a non-refundable air travel ticket with no seats available, and then when the seats were made available, the only seats available cost an additional $260.00. So the choices were, lose all my money on a non-refundable ticket or be scammed by Expedia and Cathay Pacific for an additional $260.00.

Scam 2: I paid a premium for a private sedan with driver for transfers between the airport and hotel with Expedia, whose contracted supplier attempted to drop me off on the street in front of the hotel (not at the entrance to a hotel) AND drop me off at the wrong hotel in a minibus (not a private sedan).

Scam 3: It's one thing to drive to the wrong hotel, but failing to take the passenger to the front door of the hotel reflects the motives and integrity of Expedia and it's suppliers

There are numerous Online Travel Businesses, Buyer Beware of Expedia.com!

Stole My Money
November 30, 2021

I booked the wrong date while booking a hotel through Expedia. The stay I booked was two weeks from the date I intended to book. I contacted Expedia the day after booking the reservation and canceled it but they refused to refund my money. Expedia said the hotel had a non-refund policy but when I contacted the hotel directly and explained what happened the hotel agreed with the cancellation.
Expedia still refused to refund my money ($174). I will never use them again to book a hotel, flight or car and urge anyone reading this to use another company.

Not what I expected
September 22, 2016

My friend purchased a flight to come see me and he bought the travel insurance. I got a promotion, so I was not going to be at the intended location at the time of his flight. He bought the ticket 6 months in advance. When he found out about the promotion, we tried to get Expedia and the travel insurance company to refund his ticket purchase. Nothing. Expedia referred me to the travel insurance company and the airline; the travel insurance company referred me to Expedia and the airline; the airline referred me to the travel insurance company and Expedia. All three companies said there was nothing that they could do, and they refused to refund the purchase price of the ticket. The ailrline offered a voucher, minus a $99 cancellation fee. I will never order anything through Expedia again. There are too many other reputable companies with comparable (or better) prices and better service.

Expedia posted photos and descriptions of the hotel that were completely inaccurate lies. I have photos of all of this and will be posting them online. When I asked what Expedia could do to remedy this situation, they offered me $250 for my next stay and said they wouldn't offer me anything towards this trip even though they had blatantly lied about the room that we were reserving. The hotel stated that they had had these kinds of problems with guests who had made the poor decision to book through Expedia before. I had also been told that $2046.14 had already been taken out of my account for my booking the night prior in writing by an Expedia agent which was a lie as well so that completely derailed my ability to budget accurately for this trip; a trip made at the beginning October for my fourth anniversary with my fiance. When I told the person on the phone (Jan or Jen) that we were not interested in booking with Expedia ever again and I asked for her Expedia ID number to report her to her supervisor, she refused to provide it to me. I will absolutely be pursuing financial remedy for this horrible experience. I have attached proof of the payment and photos and descriptions of the room that we booked. When we got here, there was no separate bedroom, no view, no soaking tub, and no living area. Expedia had coupled photos and descriptions from a completely different unavailable and more expensive room with the one that we booked.

It is not first time they confuse you on purpose with so called full cancelations.

Had a problem last year(not a first time) because of their scaming tactics of free changes/cancelations.
After a fight they gave me 50$ credit.
I used it on my next reservation. Then I had change of plans and went to cancel this " Free fully refundable" reservation, it told me that my credit that I use was redeemed and i cant use it again.
Bunch of thefts and idiots!

Crooks

These people are liars and their site has issues which cause errors. They are not willing to fix their mistakes. I called and talked to several people and they all blame the hotel. After you talk to the hotel, you find that they aren't involved because they have yet to be paid. They advise Expedia to give us the money back, but Expedia wants to have incompetent people waste my time on the phone.

Expedia.com

CaribbeanI booked my first cruise through expedia. They offered a $100 on board credit with Royal Carribean. I called in Feb to see if there was anything I needed to do and they said just to pay with your mastercard. I just went on the cruise last week and to my surprise didn't get an on board credit. I called them from the ship and they said I needed to fill out a redemption form 21 days before the cruise. It would've been nice for them to communicate. They said it was too late and it's my problem I booked online and didn't follow the little link in the email. Terrible service and I will not be using them in the future.

This site has great travel prices. Sometimes you can not find ground transfers on the site and sometimes it only displays one way transfers. You have to revisit the site under things to do to book your transfers seperately. Otherwise great site.

I have requested, on multiple occasions, for expedia to reimburse me for airline tickets I did not use. Although I purchased my tickets directly from expedia, they continue to refuse to reimburse my money; stating it is the responsibility of the airline to reimburse my money. This, of course, is not in line with expedias policies.

I recommend booking directly with the agency and eliminating the use of expedia.
