I am so amazed by the customer service they have! I accidentally booked the wrong dates for my hotel and of course it was non-refundable but I did buy the hotel protection so if I needed to cancel. So I give them a call (I wish I remembered who because she was amazing) and the lady who helped me was so kind and understanding and called the hotel for me and cancelled it. She was so quick and helpful! Not only did my hotel booking get refunded she also refunded my hotel protection plan as well so I didn't even get charged the fee of canceling. Seriously a great experience that just made me have a great first impression! They really go above and beyond to help you as a customer!
One of my friends had a bad experience with Expedia. She booked a flight but had some problem getting her tickets. She contacted Expedia and they told her they can't help her she has to contact the flight service in whose plane she would be flying. Which is weird and disappointing. She bought the tickets on Expedia so wasn't it expedia's responsibility?
Went on Expedia saw a great price on two tickets booked flights made payment and received error message after giving all credit card info and passenger info that tickets could not be confirmed to try again. So I try again and get same message. I checked my account and Expedia process payment and cancel flights never giving me tickets and now my account with all my money in a pending state over three days now holding my money and never gave me tickets. I will never ever use Expedia ever again.
I have used Expedia for booking hotels and it works well since they will give you an overview of all of the hotels and prices in the area. However, if you have a hotel card (for instance Choice Rewards), they will not give you points on an Expedia purchase.
Expedia doesn't come through when you have a problem with the reservation you made through them. I called Expedia to ask my questions and still experienced problems when traveling. When following up with Expedia, they refused to do anything to fix the issue.
I was looking for a rental car for a recent vacation and since the company I normally use for work travel is on the pricey side I decided to go through Expedia to compare rental prices. They pointed me to a well-known car company whose quoted price was significantly lower than the others, so I booked through Expedia. I agreed to some add-ons when I got there, but the final receipt showed $125+ of charges I was never quoted and never agreed to. Contacted the company to try and resolve the issue and they contacted the car rental company, but was told that many of these fees were mandatory and there was nothing they could do. I asked the Expedia rep why these weren't quoted then as it would have changed my purchase decision. She referred me to their terms of service which says it's up to me to do that research myself. Nowhere close to the response I was looking for. Garbage service and garbage resolution.
Absolutely, useless. I will never ever use it again. Had to cancel my trip due to Covid19. I bought travel insurance. I cancelled hotel and flight myself. Tried to contact Expedia over a month now to find out about status of my refound. They never answer calls chat nothing. I will contact consumer protection agency tomorrow to resolve this issue.
I had the pleasure of staying in a room at extended stay detroit-canton and it was wonderful. The room was fabulously clean, a King size bed that I could get lost in, and a fully functional kitchen. The bed was plush and comfortable. I slept like a baby. I was able to relax, regroup, and recharge for the next day. I encourage anyone looking for a clean, functional, comfortable, and safe get away to try extended stay. I'll be visiting again and soon.
I have researched several holidays/gettaways on Expedia, but have only actually purchased from them once.
The site is easy to use albeit a little long winded before I got to where I wanted, and I found that on all the other occassions I found a better deal after taking the time to shop around.
Therefore I would recommend a search but dont book it straight away- do your research first.
I always use Expedia for my travel plans, work or play. I made a reservation in Palm Springs. After I made the reservations I saw a cheaper price on the same hotel for the same dates. I contacted Expedia via email. I pointed out the price difference. Well to my great surprise they very quickly took care of it and credited me the diffenence. No excuses no hassles. They KEPT their word, with no loopholes. Thank you Expedia!
We've been using Expedia for round trip flight internationally, it's convenient, easy to use and I like the price changes alert. I also like that I can view prices for each date ranges. Affordable prices, and I like the idea that I received the alert or reminder for my upcoming flights.
I am so upset, it is difficult to explain that I just lost $780 for a ticket cancelled.
Be careful when you cancel to keep a record of the cancellation number. I thought I had cancelled, but the picture of the cancellation page did not have the itinerary number. Hence, even though the picture revealed that I had bought trip insurance and cancelled I had no refund coming.
I always book airline tickets with my first and last name only, or sometimes with my middle initial, but my ID has my full middle name. I fly a hundred times a year and never book a ticket with my middle name. I never book through Expedia.com but that won't matter. I presumed it was something like this but just checking. Thank you.
Expedias booking system misspelled a name so an é turned into?, which was removed altogether on the ticket, thus the name on the passport did not correspond with the passport. Expedia just flatly refused to have it corrected. Deep in their rules it is buried that they have no responsibility for misspellings, not even if they are the ones creating them! Do note that THEY OWN the booking -not you, the customer. So you cannot do a thing about it yourself. SPent 7 months agonizing over what will happen -will we get on board the planes or not? As it turned out, we did, although the airline´s computers at the in- and outbound gates protested at the mismatch. Avoid them whatever you do, there are professionals on the market, use them instead, and have a better experience. Expedia is NOT trustworthy.
I booked a vacation stay at a hotel with Expedia and had a bad experience. The hotel was in bad shape and I did a review on it through expedia and was denied to post the review! Every time I tried to complain to the hotel they told me to talk to Expedia! The hotel feels they can get away with things because they said I booked through a third party. I'll never go through Expedia again cause they put me in a 200$ a night dirty filthy room and wouldn't let me review it. I finally figured out how to leave a review by getting out of their app. Don't trust those parties.
Reserved a room thru Expedia, stayed my 3 nights and when I checked out I realized they charged me 70 more than the hotel did. Expedia told me they would keep the extra since I agreed to pay that. I told them I agreed to pay the hotel that not Expedia. If I had known they over price I would have just booked thru the hotel. I'll never use Expedia again
I buy flight tickets with Expedia. Airline canceled the departure flight and they give a credit. I ask them to leave the return flight in case I found another airline to get there. Unfortunately I did not found any flight; so I called Expedia and told them to leave my credit for future dates. For my surprise they told me that they can't do nothing and I loose my money. Even though they do not give me a credit for the flight canceled by the airline. That's unfair. I was a customer for years, but I will never do my travel with them. It's not worthy.
I've been a customer since 2010, look at the history I traveled 5 times a year and book hotel through you, and today I was very disappointed from what happened. I made a reservation online for my next trip from lax to nice and I made the payment and I was charged on my card and then I get a message from expedia that it didn't go through, first I thought it's a problem with my card so i tried again, and I got the same message, so i called my bank and the money was already out of my account, i called customer service and i was told that was an error and the flight is not available anymore, and they can't do anything about, until now the same flight shows available on your website, that's is really disappointing, I'm going to take a legal action if you guys didn't solve this problem properly and find a way to compensate a loyal customer spends thousand of dollars every couple month to fly and book hotels through you. Booked a rental car, Site is terrible to use. Trouble paying, then spoke to an agent at expedia. The rental car company did not have my booking. "There is nothing we can do" according to an agent. Do not use this site
I recently book a room at a Best Western in Katy TX. My wife and I stay there often. I am familiar with being hijacked by listings under a google search. However, I felt safe in click on the BW website in the graphic to the right. The room was quoted at a high but in line price with past rates. However, I was billed 25 % more to my card. This is beyond the usual taxes and fees. To add insult to this, there was a $19.99 add on under Travel posted to my card at the same time. I have now called Expedia. I was informed the $19.99 was a charge through Reservations.com, and they have nothing to do with it. Upon calling my credit card company, I learned the 19.99 was on my Expedia charge. Regardless of what a link appears to be, check the URL in your browser before proceeding.
Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
Expedia has a rating of 2.8 stars from 1,604 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Expedia most frequently mention customer service, credit card and next day. Expedia ranks 15th among Travel Search Engine sites.
