Terrible customer service no response to any emails. Theres no published phone number to contact customer service All nine bachelorette girls have been tracking their shirts to no avail. Contacting seller to no avail. Etsy still has not responded. None of ours have arrived in time, most didnt arrive at all. Site says 1 to 2 business days its been 2 to 3 weeks Buyer beware! I have to say that Etsy almost has most of the wanted things to buy from furniture to cooking to clothing to footwears to personal things as well. You can also be selling and earning your sales which is also pretty cool.

I placed an order with Esty but never received it. They not only charged my Visa but they also planned to automatically bill my Visa every month. I tried calling the company, left a message and got no response. I also e-mailed them also no response. This company is a scam, they are ripping off customers, put out of business and thrown in jail. This company is so bad that they shouldn't get even 1 star
I am truly upset with Etsy as I have purchased through them often. They do not provide support to customers. Every time I request a call back and speak to a representative, they verify my information, I then get disconnected and receive no call back! They do not stand by their customers!
I purchased 50 mini-tubs from TheChalkFactory (https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TheChalkFactory/about) via Etsy. I spent $85 on the product plus shipping. It arrived quickly and upon opening the box, I found that several of the tubs had exploded inside the box all over everything else, staining the paint brushes and other tubs. I contacted the seller, and she said "not my problem - take it up with the post office". I opened a case with Etsy, and they said "not our problem, take it up with the post office."
So, the seller on Etsy did a lousy packing job, blamed the post office for improper handling, and now it's my problem to deal with, and I had to rush order other items from Amazon.com. What a waste of time and money!

This Etsy Shop owner is an unfair seller. She misrepresented her product, then refused to do anything about my complaint. I will never purchase from her shop again, and I caution others. She is not at all concerned about customer relations. All she cares about is selling the next thing she puts on her site. Very RUDE person too.
They closed my shop down before I even opened my shop. I had barely made an account and they just shut it down. I have emailed them 5 times and not a single time have I received a response. This website sucks!
I have ordered items on etsy and they have taken forever to ship. I will not be purchasing from etsy any longer. I also have a shop on etsy to sell my artwork and photography and etsy treats their sellers like sh*t. I will be selling my items elsewhere.

I had to contact them to figure out what was going on.
Their reply was that [an account related to this one has been closed]. So they state that an account related to mine has been closed and so they have closed mine without consulting me and without asking me if I had any connection to it.

Stay away and use eBay is much safer and much more accurate and at least the customer service talks to you and tries to work things out with you and they refund you the money if for any reason there is a problem. Here they do not care!

On 9/26/22 my computer was remotely hacked. I made Etsy aware through contact they cut me off out of fear I was the hacker. It was a horrible experience dealing with Etsy. I emailed daily telling them to cut off my shop as sales kept coming in and I could not get in the shop. It took me two months to prove who I was as I begged in emails for them to cut the shop customers kept purchasing. They did nothing in return my shop went from a 5 star down as October right into December continued. All the money from customers went into the hackers account I ended up paying 600.00 in fees. Horrible experince down right horrible as a seller. I also ask them to remove the negative reviews for those months and they declined as I had no access to the shop whatsoever. I have all the documented proof in emails if anyone wants to view it. They treat sellers horribly and most of the items are not handmade I turned in many shops.
Some very strange experiences with Etsy. The account was suspended from the 1st day without any product upload and then unlocked after appeal. Then I was suspended again for the 2nd time after I uploaded my 1st product. I appealed again as I cannot see what the issues were. They finally emailed me stating that they permanently closed my account due to violations. However, they cannot explain why and they will not respond to any questions.
I strongly believe that if a company is going to close your account, they should at least explain what the violations were instead of just quoting the Terms links. The product that I was aiming to sell is not dissimilar to other products they have on their site for sale.
I would not recommend them as they cannot provide clear guidelines and they can close you without explanation and based on their own subjective judgments. Imagine having a store full of products for sale with this sort of dictatorial power looming over you!

Etsy does not monitor/police fraudulent interactions on its website very well. I have ordered from three vendors; had trouble with two. Had major trouble with Jennifer Hardin of Coveylee Creations who cashed my check for $125 in January and I have NOT received the merchandise yet despite promises it was being sent. I'm puzzled by the rave reviews of this site. Are they posted by sellers in disguise... or friends of sellers? I have made 4 or 5 purchases on this site. I had problems with delivery on two of those. One I was able to work out by filing a claim with Paypal. I filed a "non-delivery" report with Etsy on the other. A pretty useless waste of time. All that's happened is a automatically generated email to the seller. Etsy's customer support is non-existant. I've never recieved any help from them. They responded to an email once. It took almost two weeks to get and didn't say much of anything. It most definately had a "brush off" tone to it. I doubt this will ever be resolved. Where is the support in customer support? Why are sellers allowed to make a sale & never send it? No recourse, no repercussions. Sad. I will not be using Etsy again and I would not recommend them to anyone.
I complained to Etsy about a seller who I believed misrepresented the product he was selling on their platform. Etsy never investigated intead, only stated that the complaint would be put on seller's file. I lost cost of shipping the items back to seller.
Also once items are returned, Etsy website doesn't allow you to review the product. I therefore couldn't warn other unsuspecting buyers about this particular seller.

Answer: I would have to say no, with LOTS of exceptions. In the past few years Etsy has allowed business to claim handmade if it meets certain criteria. I often see many items that claim to be handmade but I have seen them on Alibaba being sold in bulk. That being said I look very closely and have purchased some wonderfu items from great sellers. The biggest problem with Etsy is that they no longer protect customers from fraud (they say they are not liable) but in doing that lots and lots or resellers and counterfeit items have saturated Etsy' s marketplace. I would never buy anything "vintage" there. What I have seen you are getting thrift store rejects or modern fake. Buyer beware! Investigate all vendors carefully!

They are all over from Pakistan to turkey east to west up united state.
