I just bought a iPad case off catch paid in full. Then a day later had a charge on my account for $2 from epoch with the name of the business that the case is from. I thought it was strange so looked the name up. And after seeing some of the comments on here I cancelled my card. I definitely didn't sign up with epoch or buy anything from them never heard of them until yesterday. I guess the business I purchased the case from uses epoch

Heavy delays. I bought something for $4.99 on 4/09/17. I didn't get it until 4/30/17... 3 weeks later. It was a downloadable product. I only got it because I hounded them on the status of my order. It was supposed to be immediate download delivery via email. Yeah I highly advise against it.

I used the online chat to end fraudulent monthly "subscriptions". After giving only name, address and last 4 of CC, the online chat rep was helpful, offered to block future use of my CC by ANY merchant they service and offered to refund the last two transactions. I had to specifically ask for it, but the rep also gave me the merchant names and subscription emails associated with my CC. I'll wait to see if all the promises come true so I don't have to replace my CC. But, the online chat took only about 10 minutes and seemed legitimate without me divulging all my personal info.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We take customer service very seriously because we represent not only our own processing services but also the merchants who use us. While we work hard to fight against fraudulent transactions, our customer service team will work with anyone whose card data has been compromised and used with a merchant for whom we process transactions.

Payment was fine. They will claim that according to terms and conditions that they can't offer a refund. Just throw a little weight around. Here is an example of the refund process them:
"sorry but according to the orders terms and conditions we can't issue a refund"
Me:
"I would really rather not escelate this with PayPal. Either way I'm getting my money back,*
Them:
"The order has been refunded and subscription cancelled. Have a wonderful day."
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Just do it right
March 21, 2016

Sometimes the billing is accurate. Other times it's not. Watch out for the little checkbox that is auto-checked when you sign up.

Also when you contact them they'll always say "We're just the biller." We cant do anything. Then they refund if you stick to your guns.

They really need to be above board but know some guys are too embarrassed to make a fuss. Not me. I'm not ashamed to call my credit card company and stop payment. You should too and you'll not be scammed

My information was easily hacked and used on two other websites that I had never visited. When I talked to a billing employee over their "chat" system, they were rude and unhelpful. When they finally told me what websites my card had been used on and allowed me to file for fraud, they ended the conversation, even though I was not done. They did refund one of the three fraudulent charges, but they also charged a service fee of $30 (which was more than the fraudulent charge in the first place). Not to mention, they charged me for an extra two months for a recurring payment that I cancelled and received a confirmation email for... No credible business should trust this website as an online payment company. Everyone should drop epoch. If that is the payment website DO NOT put in your credit card info.

I've reached out to this post's author for clarification. The experience noted here is not in line with our policies and with cooperation we can investigate this further.

Garbage company
February 22, 2019

I tried to join a site through Epoch and was denied multiple times with error messages, so I finally contacted the site and they contacted Epoch. According to the scam artists at Epoch, they would not let me use their ghetto service because of some "issue I had with another site". This was a total lie, because I had never had any issues with any other sites. Far as I'm concerned, Epoch can go suck a big one.

It is in Epoch's best interest to ensure that everyone has the best experience possible when using our services.

I don't know the specifics of your situation, but there are indeed scenarios where a card number could be banned from using our services. Such examples could be excessive refunds or reversals. If you ever have an issue or question about a charge from Epoch, your best chance at finding an answer to your question is to call our Customer Service. We make it very easy. https://epoch.com/billing_support/

Good service
January 14, 2021

, it is easy to execute payments and to cancel them with a single click, it seems to me that most people on this page do not read at the time of executing a payment, every time I pay for an online service I see that included services or subscriptions to pages that I do not request but it is normal, just uncheck the box where it offers you the other services for a price

I don't even remember if I have any transactions through this company in the past. But there were transactions with the name epoch today which I clearly know that I did not do. The company should be responsible for this. Anyways I quoted them as fraud transactions with my credit card company.

Epoch - You guys need to do a better job.

Epoch is a payment service provider for thousands of websites. It is quite likely that you made a purchase from one of these sites not realizing that the descriptor on your credit card statement would show as Epoch. If, however, you are absolutely certain that you did not make a purchase from a site processed by Epoch, the second most likely scenario is that your credit card has been compromised. You can contact Epoch to find out what site the charge applies to. If at that point you do not recall the purchase by you or someone in your household, you should contact your bank immediately to cancel your card and get a new one issued. Depending on your state and the severity of the charges, credit card fraud may be a felony. www.epoch.com

Scammed me out of $100
August 30, 2019

Took my money and won't acknowledge it or refund my money. DO NOT USE.

I sent them proof on my bank statement as requested and they basically stopped responding and will not do anything. Why ask for this if you are just going to deny it?

They are total scam artists. I bought a 2 day trial and then cancelled it. Then they tried to bill my credit card anyways. Luckily enough that the credit card company called and it didnt go thru. I called and they made up some totally laughable story and i reported them as fraud. Thats what this is - Fraud. They steal because they are fraudulent and conduct illegal activities. Stealing - in case you haven't caught on.

I had contacted this company twice to end a subscription that I don't believe I had ever agreed to. Was still charged for it, though their website showed the activity as a one time purchase for $0. I have reported them to the Attorney General of NY.

Complete scam
January 23, 2014

Complete scam. I signed up for a $20 subscription and they charged me 34.87. I cancelled the membership right away and thought it was done with. I just noticed they had continued to charge my CC every month despite me cancelling. I had to call two times to get it cancelled and they refused to refund the money. I called my bank and all charges were removed.

I love this paper!
November 22, 2019

I don't know if sitejabber will print this review, but I love this paper! Epoch gives a more realistic reports and I love the diversity of the paper, especially the lifestyle and health section. Very great health articles which I've saved many of! I was charge the intro rate of $1 and then it only went to $16 a month, which I check my statement regularly to make sure that's all. I was going to cancel after the intro rate, but I like the paper so much that I kept it up!

Used to be ok.
September 14, 2022

Found out today that I was billed for a site I know I cancelled the automatic subscription to the day after I initially purchased it. Contacted Epoch customer support to try and get things sorted out. Started out polite asking what the issue was and such. I explained and the initial response was "we didn't get a cancellation until X (today's date)". I clarified that it was due to an error and I know for a fact I had said to cancel, especially since it's been over a month since the charge I purposely accepted. In the past I always got "let's see what we can do to prevent issues" type thing which was fine. Now I get passive aggressive comments like "sorry you feel that way". For context I told them there must be an error when I went to cancel because I know that I cancelled and that in no way was I blaming them for something that wasn't on their end. Then the rep going on about the terms and conditions allowing the charge to go through because it wasn't cancelled. Again keep in mind I had already stated that it wasn't supposed to as it was a glitch via paypal. So I asked what can be done. "I can confirm there will be no further charges" was the almost immediate response. Like that doesn't help at all. Billing me for something that was supposed to be cancelled and saying I won't get charged again doesn't help when you've already taken money for something that wasn't supposed to come out! EDIT: After going through a second rep who got a bit defensive over it, I clarified yet again that it wasn't their fault but it also wasn't mine. The newest charge was refunded.

Do not ever give your credit card details to these scammers. They will keep charging your card in spite of having provided you with the "proof" of seizing your account. I wish I had checked the reviews before. Now I will need to replace my card since I do not believe a word of their promises that I will not be charged over and over again for the subscription I have not had or even have used.

I'm trying to buy tokens on Chaturbate.com. The cheapest option is Epoch. I've done this many times, it always worked. Suddenly it stopped. As a payment method, I choose Przelewy24 (a popular method in Poland where I live and supported by Epoch). It does not require a card as it works on an instant bank transfer basis. After providing the name, postal code and country, I was transferred to the appropriate Przelwy24 website where I made the actual payment. Now after entering the same data, an error message is displayed (as in the attached picture). No one from support knows why this is happening. They asked me to give my card number. But I don't use the card! Then they found that their system was saying that the card was rejected by the bank. But I don't use the card! At the end they told me to talk live in the chat. The first question was about the card number. But I don't use the card!
Support people are unfamiliar with the services that Epoch offers. Nobody knows what caused the error.
