This company is so incredibly disorganized.
September 6, 2019

This will be a long story; a story of big screw up by the company that had me wait for almost 2 weeks and problem is still not resolved.

So in order for everything to make sense I have to start at the beginning.

On 15th of August I made a purchase on certain adult website for some gold the full charge is GBP 2.10. I used PayPal as I am not stupid and the amount has been put on authorization hold. The amount has been on authorization hold since and haven't moved anywhere. Last week on Thursday I contacted the support live chat to see whats the hold up and they told they have no account with that email and member id. Okay... weird I gave them screenshot of the email showing everything they should ever need but they say that member id is associated with another email address and my email address is associated with another account. And I hope this doesn't mean that when that other account buys something I will be charged. I feared the worst so i cancelled the per-approved payments on PayPal. Told me there is a mix up and I have to wait for manager or something. That was on Thursday right So I wait for 24 to 48 hours which is what they told me this is going to take. ON Sunday I contact again and they tell me the same thing after I had to explain everything again cause they don't keep tabs on these events or something. So the told me to wait another 24 to 48 hours which i did and it is not Friday 5 days later and nothing so I contacted them again and the customer service live chat agent told me that my Member ID is associated with something else. He told me how I have subscriptions to porn websites I've never even heard of. So he told me he can cancel the account and he infact did cancel that account but then he told me how I will be charged like GBP 13.00 on 9/1/2019. I have to emphasize he said I WILL BE CHARGED on 9/01/2019 like it's 9/06/2016 how I am going to be charged in the past? So he told me to call them and speak to them but they only have US numbers and I was not able to contact them with my phone so I make an Skype account and get 30 days free trial so i can call them and at least that works. I explain everything on the phone and just like all the others he tells me there is nothing in their systems about my account. He tells me that I might have received wrong Member ID or something and that I have to wait for manager to get back to me to sort this out. So now I am back where I started last week waiting for manager that probably won't get back to me tomorrow just like he or she didn't all those times they said he or she would. Tomorrow I will be sending them email explaining everything again and hoping to get better results with getting to the manager.

So what I think happened here is that they sent me someone else's Member ID since the email is mine I just think there is a mix up and they sent me different Member ID or something. However how does this even happen? And why does it take this long to sort everything out?

Unauthorized access to my account by a member of Epoch billing department.
February 18, 2019

On February 18th, I contacted Epoch billing department via chat to request that my Paypal payment ID is unlinked from the Epoch website, because I was having difficulties making a payment to an online merchant using my Paypal account. When I contact Epoch via chat, I was connected with Jennifer. She had difficulties finding my email address, and name in their system. I then provided her snippets of my past receipts proving to her that I was, in fact, a customer. One of the receipts had MY EMAIL AND PASSWORD to the merchant website.

Once she was able to find my account, I explained the situation to her and she basically told me to create a new account, because Epoch could do nothing to unlink my Paypal account. She then instructed me to contact the *******@epoch.com to have my information deleted, because she claimed that Epoch did not own the billing site where I was my payment information was retained. I then showed her a screen capture of the billing page because I wanted to find out who owned the site, so that I could contact then with my request. The web address was: https://wnu.com. After I googled this page, it was, in fact, owned my Epoch, so I contacted Epoch again via chat, and was surprised to get Jennifer again. She then stated that Epoch owns several billing sites, and do not own the page I was on. She then instructed me to contact Epoch via telephone. I agreed and then disconnected the chat. Shortly afterward, I received an automated support email from the merchant website stating that they received my request to open a new account because Epoch could not unlinked my PayPal. THIS request was NEVER sent by me. Jennifer or someone at Epoch logged into my account and sent this email to the merchant support team. THAT is illegal! I never gave them permission to access my online account, nor did I authorize anyone at Epoch to send emails from my account and make requests on my behalf.

When I contact Epoch support again, the rep Nelson sad "We have your login details for the site as we handle the login for the website." He went on to say that there is a site contact page down at the bottom of the merchant website. Even IF they have access to my password and login information, they are not permitted to log into my account to send emails on my behalf. That is illegal and unauthorized access and I will be filing a formal complaint with the FTC.

I used a prepaid card which will only allow you spend...
November 4, 2014

I used a prepaid card which will only allow you spend what is on the card. I made two payments - the first worked fine. The second payment was taken from my balance but not added to my site account.

I spoke to Epoch's online support and the agent was able to see that the payment had been removed from my card but not passed to my account. They advised that it may be pending on their system and if so would be added to my account. If not, it would be reimbursed to my card but due to a system delay it may take up to 24 hours to go through. I waited the 24 hours but my account was not credited nor was my card reimbursed. I spoke to their online support again and the agent I spoke to certainly did not have English as their first language (or even their third language!) - I could not understand a lot of what was being said to me as it was - basically - gibberish.

Looking at my card details online with my provider I saw that they had later tried drawing funds from my card three further times that day but been declined due to lack of funds (I never keep large amounts on it in case something just like this might happen).

It's now five days later and still no joy. I have tried logging on to their support again this evening but it just keeps crashing. I know it's not my machine as every other site loads fine. I guess at this stage from reading reviews here I will count myself lucky that it was only 25 I lost and not the hundreds some people speak of here. My card is due for replacement in a few weeks anyway so I'll just put it down to experience and run from any sites in the future that use them for payment.

UPDATE:

I finally managed to get through to their online support again. I explained the situation again to the agent and was told that there was no record of any transaction on my card for the date in question. I told him that I was looking at the record of transactions on my card provider's site and then suddenly he was able to see them after all. He said my payment was declined due to lack of funds even though it showed the money being taken out. He then told me that it was a hold of funds and would be reimbursed by my card provider. I said I had been told that Epoch would reimburse my card - he then gave a phone number to call and tried to end the talk.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and had to explain everything again. He tried telling me the same as the agent had told me. When I said I could see the processing of payments he asked me to send him proof so I copied and pasted the payments records to him. After a few minutes away he returned and said he had found the payments but that I would have to get my bank to sort it out and it may take 15 days. Basically, he just wanted to wash his hands of it. I advised that as I use a prepay card, calling my bank would not be any use. I said that as Epoch had deducted the payment (as their records now proved after all) it should be up to them to deal with the issue. He just repeated the 15 day line again and struck me as just wanting me to go away.

I said that I found it a bit incredible to be getting this trouble when the first agent I spoke to on the day advised me that they could see the second payment had not been processed due to a temporary fault with Epoch's system. After quite a long absence he returned and asked me if I had a log of the calls sent to me by previous agents I had dealt with. I said nobody had ever offered it to me. After a long talk it transpired that call logs are not available to agents when you call so you have to restate everything - only supervisors and management have access to this.

Honestly, I have seen corkscrews that are straighter than the answers you get from Epoch! Never, never again!
