I have been a customer with E-Fax since 2009. I recently had my wallet stolen with my credit cards. As a result I had to cancel my cards which included the credit card I had on file with E-Fax for my monthly auto billing. Before I could contact E-Fax with the new credit card information I was billed a $5.00 late fee since they were unable to charge the card they had on file. I immediately called to let them know what happened, provide them with the new credit card information and get a waiver of the late fee due to the underlying circumstances. I tried on 2 occasions to contact them. Both times resulted in my being placed on hold to reach an agent for over 2 hours. As a business owner, I do not have that kind of time to waste trying to get thru to a vendor. As such, I chose to contact the credit card company to dispute the erroneous billing of the $5.00. Thereafter I received an email advising me they had canceled my account however in the email it stated, "If you believe this was done in error reply to this email". I replied to the email over a week ago and have yet to receive any response. I am a small business owner who has been left without access to sending or receiving important business communication because of E-Fax's lack of customer service support. Canceling a loyal customer's account who has made over 144 on time payments without so much as a courtesy phone call or notice shows an utter lack of professionalism. I prefer to do business only with establishments that value their customer relationship. E-Fax clearly is not such an entity. Shame on you efax treat your customers with some respect! By the way the service sucks faxes don't go though (in or out) only after multiple attempts some never go through at all.

She was polite and gave a good support.
Although I decided to cancel my account she showed me a way to test the system before canceling.

From the first moment I discovered eFax, I have been amazed and how well organized they are, how easy it is to send a fax on line and how helpful, knowledgeable and intelligent everyone that works there is. At 1:00 a.m. I realized that the eFax I had sent to the IRS was sent to the wrong fax number. I could not figure out how to re-send it and I did not want to start over again with all 8 pages. So I called the company and of course the recording said because of Covid I could get faster service on Echat - but I really wanted to talk to a person, so I just waited on the phone. Within 5 minutes John in Ireland answered the phone and was super receptive and understood immediately my problem. He careful walked me through each step I needed to do to 're-send' a fax I had sent a few weeks earlier. It turned out to be very simple to do, very clear from the website, but I thought I would need help and I got it. Then after we did that, John explained something that I did not know: I can send an eFax using my eFax number from my own emails. And once again, he walked me through it, and it was very simple, went out and within five minutes I got an email saying the fax was delivered.
I just hope people know about this service as it is so useful. The only way I can communicate with the IRS TaxPayer Advocate is by Fax - and I used to have to drive far to find a business that will send a fax for you. Now I just do it on my computer. Gotta love this service. To eFax: you should contact IRS and give them your information for them to send to all the people that need to write to them who have to drive around looking for a fax machine! Thank you for this service, and for Mr. John, who was so helpful!

Every now and then you really need cutting-edge 1980's technology, like when you have to dig the VCR out of the basement to view your wedding video (on the occasion of your 30th anniversary)... or when someone wants to send you a fax.
When that happens, eFax will be there.
Unfortunately, while you can put the VCR back in the basement, eFax CEO Hemi Zucker presides over a company that refuses to go away. After you send that one fax, you'll continue to be billed, month after month, because eFax will only cancel your service if you CALL them and allow a sales rep to hassle you for a while.
Yup, a company designed to route faxes into your email will only take cancellations by live voice! Apparently Hemi doesn't get irony.
This business model, like fax technology itself, is antique, but it still works so well. You know what that cancellation phone call is going to be like, so instead you'll search -- and search -- for the "chat" button that is supposed to be there on the eFax website (but isn't). Eventually you'll get distracted, and Internet leach Hemi Zucker will bleed your bank account for another month's subscription fee.
Look, everyone wants to convert his product into a subscription service because everyone knows that you'll forget to cancel, at least for a while. But at least ethical companies will let you cancel with ease when you finally remember to do so. Hemi Zucker and his management team don't seem to have that much class.
My Recommendation: if you need to fax something, call the phone company and have them install a second phone line, then go online and buy a vintage fax machine. Then buy toner and paper and spend an hour or so setting it up. When you're done, sell the fax machine and have the phone company come and disconnect the line. In the end it will still be less hassle than dealing with eFax.

On top of the service not working consistently (unable to retrieve or send faxes. Unable to retrieve any faxes sent via phone app from the website) The customer service number is a long distance number based in India and they barely understand and speak English. Extremely difficult to get anyone to shut up and listen to what you are trying to say. All the reps that I spoke with were busy talking over me to try and either sell me something I already told them no on, or just talking about nothing. I was hung up on for requesting to speak to a supervisor after requesting my account be canceled. I spoke with 4 reps today before finally getting fed up and canceling my account. The initial request was that the payment date be moved to the original payment date agreed on the 10th instead of the 8th. They continued billing on the 8th and I was got late fees that were not necessary. Even after canceling the original account to set it up on the 10th in order to have a billing date on the 10th they could not figure it out, and THEN tried to charge me for the late fee still. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was hung up on twice. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN. I highly recommend others do the same.
