We had not updated our admin features for a long time. Mandip was outstanding with her knowledge and patience as we made those changes. Thank you, eFax and Mandip. Steve M
I've tried the free trial, didn't like the service, tried to cancel my account 3 days later after the start of trial following the procedure. Didn't work. Contacted the customer service via email to cancel, they replied with a subscription offer that I refused and they didn't cancel my trial account. I wrote to the same email address several times to cancel my trial. No reply this time. After trial expired they changed my credit card anyway, against my willing USD68. I requested the refund to the same email address but this time they replied that they will cancel account but not refund. BE CAREFUL GUYS THEY ARE SMAMMERS!
Great customer service and support. Easy to use and very professional faxing service. Great trial period which enables faxes to be sent all over the world for free. A+
I signed up to use this service for a specific client and Chris was very helped me navigate some challenges. Try this company and I hope you get to interface with Chris
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback Jordan. We are very pleased to hear that Chris provided you with excellent service! EFax is a waste of money and a crummy product - For basic eFax service it costs $17 per month, which gives you a fax number and the ability to send and receive faxes. I orginally signed up because I read some decent reviews of eFax. But those reviewers I don't think had actually used the service for any period of time.
(1) the cost is not competitive - if you google "internet fax" you will see a number of much cheaper alternatives.
(2) the fax product is poor. There is a cumbersome client (software) they require you to download to read and send faxes. I think you should be able to do all that on a website without downloading anything.
(3) they auto-bill your credit card without notifying you each month.
(4) they make it very difficult to cancel. There is no link on the website, you have to contact customer service via email or an online chat window. I canceled via the online chat, and the customer service rep would not let me cancel! They just kept trying to retain me. Big waste of time. I wouldn't recommend eFax to anyone.
I signed up for an efax account because I needed on quick for a professional organization I was joining. I found efax and quickly created an account with my credit card. Almost immediately I remembered an old efax acount I had with another company that was still active though unused for a while. I immediately contacted efax and tried to cancel my account and get a full refund. After following their links and chatting online with a customer service rep I left feeling like I had been ripped off. They would not refund my full amount and tried and tried to get me to sign up for one month, then two months free. I was told my monthly fee could be refunded but not the 'activation fee'. I was repeatedly asked if I wanted a 'free trial' which would start after my first month of 'paid' service. What? I could not convince them that they had the ability to fix my mistake and refund my money. Had they done that simple thing, even though I realize it was my mistake, I might have considered using them in the future... but not now. Having been in customer service myself I know it is not hard to give good customer service. Just make me whole or even better make me whole and give me some incentive to choose this company over my other one. Nope. They took my $10 and lost a customer for life. Oh well.
I cancelled my service in 2019 (see partial chat thread below to validate). They charged my card in 2020 but unfortunately I did not notice it. They charged again in 2021 and I noticed it. On 7/28/21 I spoke to Eda reference # *******. She followed up via email on 7/27/21 (see below) saying they couldn't find any record of my account and to dispute the charge. I disputed the charge with AmEx and AmEx responded by saying efax / J2 denied my account was cancelled. I suggest not using their service because if you ever need to cancel you may find yourself in a bind. They owe me $169.50 from 2020 (too late to dispute charge) and $169.50 for 2021.
Email from Eda at efax 7/27/21... we apologized for the inconvenience but, we can't locate an account using all the given information. Also asked the higher support team, and they cannot locate an account with the charges of $169.50. They advised calling the bank to dispute the charges. The reference number for this email is *******.
10/7/19 chat thread to cancel
Mark Jordan: How long before it is cancelled?
Joey Anderson: Your account is cancelled and you will receive the email shortly.

I received a friendly and clear support from the Customer Care Service of eFax. Agent i spoke with has been kind and clear. One of the best customer support interactions I have ever experienced
I had a difficulty sending faxes from my account. I called customer service, and had Eve Dreeling help me step by step until the problem was resolved. I commend her patience, and professionalism

I'm very disappointed I was on the unlimited plan for 5 months during that time I only used the service once. When I tried to cancel my plan they offered me a deal for $5 for 10 pages which I thought was good since I didn't fax often. I allegedly was credited for that past month and had a credit on my account. I faxed 5 pages to 2 seperate companies and 1 page to another. My card was charged $18.99 on Dec 14th and $10 on January 4th on top of the credit that was supposedly on my account and now every day they are trying to pull out $10 off my card I had to disable my card. I spoke to customer service 3 times and was told that I wouldn't have a bill till March which would be a partial payment. Then the charges just kept hitting my credit card. I called back and the women said they would give me 25 page credit but couldn't explain why they keep trying to charge my card. Now it's still happening and I finally am going to cancel my account although I don't want to lose the faxes I've sent this is ridiculous.

Regarding invoice query, Lia was brilliant, understood the issue and resolved straightaway! Great customer service and a credit to eFax, keep up the great work!
I don't know about the service, but if you want to just try it they will rip you off. I tried to do the free version but ending up being charged $27 to receive one fax. The start webpage tells you what the free version and the plus version offers. Then there are two buttons. One says "TRY EFAX PLUS" and one says "SIGN UP FOR efax NOw!". I clicked the second button thinking that was for the free version finding out later the free sign up is at the bottom of the page where it blends in. Through the whole sign up process there was no mention of signing up for the plus version. I am an idiot for giving my credit card information, but in my defense I thought that was in case I go over the first ten free faxes. Receiving a single fax cost me $27. Then when trying to close my account after telling my situation and hoping for a refund the operator continuously tries to offer me deals to continue with their service. They also offer a thirty day free trial for the plus service, but thats a separate button. Why wouldn't they do that for everyone that signs up. Their service worked, but I don't appreciate the way they do business and I would never recommend them to anyone. My name is David Georg
I was content, but now the project, I needed fax for, is brought to an end. At least I will praise Stefan, with whom I had the last talk, when I had to cancel. He was very friendly and openminded.
Simona B was excellent, she was very professional, showed a good understanding of the problem, was very politely persuasive and able to carry out our wishes. A pleasure to talk to.
Thanks Simona B. For your straight forward and swift help - timely replies. It is the second time I have been assisted at eFax in this manner. Recommend.
Hello E. M,

No chat-bots or any long waiting lines, an actuall real life human beeing on the phone with a lovley voice who answers quickly and put my worries to an eaze. Thanks!
In July of 2022 I signed up for this service and then I cancelled the service within a few days. Today - 14 months later, I realized that they have been charging me $18.99 a month despite the fact that I cancelled. I logged into the account which I had not logged into or used since July 2022 and saw that indeed the account was active and being billed. I tried to cancel but the page just went blank. A moment later I got an email that read:
Subject: In Order to Cancel Your eFax Account
We value your business and are sorry you wish to cancel your eFax account. If there is anything we can do to retain your service, like a lower plan or troubleshooting if the service did not work to your expectations, please contact us using the information below.
You are able to Cancel your service conveniently online inside your "Online Account" at https://www.efax.com/myaccount/login
Once logged in, on the "Account Details" go to the "Billing" tab, to "Next Payment" and click "Cancel My Account", and follow the instructions. You will "NOT" be able to use this feature if you are on an annual plan, owe a current balance, or have multiple fax numbers.
Instead of cancelling my account - I got this email and I had to go back and follow the SAME steps I just had followed to cancel. This is such a scam. This must have happened the first time that i tried to cancel back in July of 2022 and I didn't notice that I actually had to cancel TWICE to make it stick.
I called customer service and the woman told me the systems were down and she couldn't see my account. But then she claimed that she sees my cancellation request and the email I got (above). She also agreed that it can appear "shady" that you can only cancel after getting the email and cancelling AGAIN a second time. Then she stated she did not see any evidence of that email or my attempt to cancel in 2022. Which is it - systems are down and you can't see my account or clearly you can if you can see my cancellation attempt. She told me the best she could do is MAYBE refund me the last charge and that is it. This is such fraud.
I would like a refund of the charges since 2022. I cancelled the service and yet the withdrawals were being made monthly despite the cancellation.

I signed up for an EFax corporate account in 2021. The moment I upgraded to a corporate account I had issues. I was unable to sign into my account, and when I downloaded the app, I was unable to use the app as it would give me a notice, locking me out from my ability to even log in. When I reached out through email and provided pictures of my issue with the app they informed me that they provided me a password and that I need to sign in using the app. Again, I emailed them explaining that I can't even use the app because it gives me a message that states, "No passcode. Please secure your device with a passcode or biometric login." The only way to exit the app was to shut the app down completely. Sometimes my phone or device would freeze and I would have to restart my phone or my device. I was informed to call them and I did. Twice nobody answered. Once I was hung up on. Each month I continued to get a billing statement with the balance, growing higher and higher. I would email them explaining I've never used the service and that nobody is getting back to me to help me. It would be radio silence for months. The only time somebody is contacting me now is because I have not been paying this bogus invoice for a service that I've never used. Now they are asking me for proof of all of my emails. I have some but not all of them. And since it's been a couple of years now, I can't even prove that I have called them. I don't even trust that they would say they have a record of me calling. I would go to another company before ever recommending this one! I can't believe I'm even dealing with this. I truly think that anybody that is having a good experience with this company has been lucky because eventually I'm sure something will go wrong and the only thing that this company will care about is whether or not you pay them. For the record, I've never even sent a fax using my corporate account. If I ever received anything, I wouldn't even know because I could never login even once once I switched to the corporate account.

These folks could not get the information they needed from me to port over a fax number. After a couple months of not getting the info we needed to port over my number, they won't return my emails or phone calls. I emailed and called Ash (Ashey) Montoya about 6 times with no return email or phone call. Ash was the rep that sold me the service saying she could get my old fax number ported over. The finance department did respond saying they need the ok from someone else to issue a refund, but with another 6 or more emails, nobody would even answer the email. They all went silent, hoping to retain my $100 or $150 or whatever they have of my money. The finance department said i obviously deserve a refund, but Christian Ransopher, Hector Bobadilla, and Ash Montoya never returned my emails or the emails from the finance dept asking for input. They just figure it will be so hard to get my money back, that i will likely give up. Unbelievable! They are crooks. I will continue to try to get my money back. I hope their business suffers from being willing to steal money from a small business owner!
As a client from Germany he could help me in handling several requests - when starting to send out faxes again I will contact him again.

Answer: It says efax on the charge info line. On statement.
eFax has a rating of 2.1 stars from 194 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with eFax most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free trial. eFax ranks 8th among Fax sites.
