What a scam. Free trial what a joke! It says that faxes must be under 60 secs in transmission to avoid an extra charge. I called to find out how to stay under the 60 secs and was told as long my document was less than 200kb I would be fine. My attachment was 90KB so I thought I would be fine. I sent a whole pile of faxes and when I checked the transmission report not one of them was under 60 secs. I called again and she asked if I had any pictures/graphics and I said I did. She told me this would affect the transmission time and I should remove them. According to my usage page I had used 105 out the free 150 pages. I asked if the extra costs would just come off the credits and she told me they would.
She lied. They had charged my credit card over $11.00 for this 'free' trial. They lied and mislead me on two separate occasions.
I asked to shut my account down and they did ( although later than I thought prudent). No apologies, no further explanations.

I just finally got off the phone with this god awful place! I took a 30 day free trial because I had to send a fax. I was thinking of keeping the service but thought I t was way to expensive so I called to cancel. UNREAL! Took me 45 minutes just to cancel this stupid account! Obviously a scam to try to test your patience so you wont cancel and they can keep charging your card. This is what our world is coming to folks. EVERYONE WANTS YOUR MONEY!
I never used the service. It is very difficult to figure out how to cancel. The company refused any refund. Do not sign up!

Paid my membership for the year. Their system had an error and thought I went over my page number and charged me $20 overage fee. They told me I was refunded and then didn't refund me and to top it off they cancelled my account without ever reaching out to me and kept my yearly membership fee on top of it! When I tried to use my account and couldn't they also told me there was a FEE to reactivate my account even though all the errors were THEIR fault. Multiple reps I spoke to were rude and unhelpful.
I used faxonline.com for years with NO issues. They were purchased by EFAx so my account was transferred. I rarely use it, but would like it to work when I do. I tired to send a fax this AM and could not. After 30 mins online with their support I asked a DUMB QUESTION... Are you compatible with MAC'S and to my surprise was told NO WE ARE NOT. WHAT service is not compatible with MAC'S in today's world? Unbelievable... they are as outdated as faxes themselves!

TOTAL RIP OFF - service doesn't work - long wait time on their customer service line - then they blamed the receiving end for the transmission not working - then I e-mailed to cancel my free trial and got a response days later that "cancellations can only be processed by calling in" so I just called in (am calling my credit card company now to refuse charges from them) and after letting them know all my concerns, the heavily accented service rep had the nerve to try to sell me their eVoice product - SERIOUSLY? DO NOT USE E-FAX!
I cancelled this account as soon as I opened it.never sent or received a single fax and was still charged 18.99 for absolutely nothing AND they're refusing my refund! Don't use this service

Multiple emails keep showing up despite multiple requests to unsubscribe. Would never do business with this company. No surprise then to read all the bad reviews here
They promote a free trial for 30 days, they a very vague with the terms and conditions. Please be aware you will end up paying some amount to send a fax through this company, they are fraudulent.
I decided to cancel, but there is no information in the site on canceling once you log in. No cancel button or anything. After searching around I found this site (https://www.efax.com/efax-help-center/billing) which lets you chat with someone to cancel, or you can call. When I first chatted it was directed to a sales person (even though I selected service), so they transferred me to service, but I ended up in queue for the ~7min until they closed. It didn't tell me it closed, I just knew from opening another chat, where it also directed me to the salesperson. The next day, I chatted again and got to a service person, who was slow and gave two separate upsell offers. By the time I rejected these and finally canceled the whole process took near 30 minutes.
Making it difficult to cancel a website is anticompetitive and scammy, and efax definitely meets that bar to get an automatic 1 star in my book.
Don't buy from these people. I tried to send a fax and it was returned, and then they continued charging me after I disputed it on my account and had already stopped the subscription day of.

The refuse to recognize when you cancel and keep charging you.
In my case, when I got to the supervisor, Chris, I was told that "It's against our policy to get refunds" (even when charged for a cancelled service). When I stated I would take it up with my bank, Chris threatened to place negative commentary on my credit report.
Even after a fair amount of annoyance, I was only able to get a verbal confirmation that my account was cancelled. I viewed that as worthless since the previous verbal cancellations were meaningless.
When you go to cancel, the customer support also play a ton of word games. In my case, it got so ridiculous that they claimed they didn't understand such basic statements as "cancel my account immediately!" and "Cancel my account today!".
Like others, I eventually had to get my bank to block E-Fax from making any charges against my card.
This is in addition to the fact that when I did use the FAX service, it was pretty poor and took multiple attempts to send even the most basic FAX or get a receipt.
E-Fax is a company of thieves. Avoid them however you can and never let them have any of your financial or personal data!
I canceled my trial, but they kept charging me 18.99 every month! The product is marginal at best. I will never do business with them again.

This company is a scam. I never fully signed up, never verified my credit card. I never sent a fax. I got a charge several months later and they would only refund part of it. Do not sign up.

I needed to send a fax... one fax... so I signed up for the free trial period. When I went to cancel, I found I couldn't do it on line so I called customer services which, naturally was not open over the weekend. I took a punt and sent an email which was promptly responded to by Simona B who confirmed my cancellation. She was very pleasant in her approach and handled things quickly. I still wouldn't sign up again because I can't stand that I cannot simply cancel by the way I signed up. A bit backward, antiquated or simply sneeky.
As for the actual technology, the website doesn't look very sleek, the mechanisim looks a bit out-datd in terms of their templates. I don't know if the fax I needed to send actually went because no one ever acknowledged receipt on the receiving end...
So there you go...
I have been trying to cancel this service for two years. They are unresponsive to calls, emails, faxes letters and credit card disputes. Once you sign up, you are a hostage for life
