Just read reviews elsewhere and you will know not to trust this company with bank information.
My experiencd is the same. I cancelled the account after bad services. Then they charged me anyway later. Seems to be a trend with this company. Imagine how much profit it is for them to rip off thousands of people for $17. Fight back.
I canceled my efax membership in July 2013, only to discover in January 2014 that I was still being charged membership fees. Called customer service only to speak with a "supervisor" out of India who rudely simply told me there was nothing he could do and I would not receive any refund. Bunch of fraudulent thieves! Stay away from this service!
I have had a great experience since joining eFax.com. The support is great and the price is reasonable. Chris the last person who offered me support worked hard to resolve my issue and I really appreciated his devotion to solving my issue. My issue was a bit more complicated than most so this is evidence of his devotion. I actually typically never require support because using Efax is so simple to utilize! I would recommend this service to anyone who needs faxing service with ease. Thank you Chris for your support today! You were truly awesome!
The product worked well. No issue with that. The problem came when I went to cancel the service, which they have made into a difficult process and botched. They continued to bill me after I canceled even though I was locked out of using the service. I called customer service and they refused to give me a refund. From reading other reviews, it appears that this company has some ethical issues it needs to iron out. I would not recommend.
Hopefully, they will now stop billing me. "Per your request, your account has been canceled. Billing will cease immediately. Your confirmation number is *******."
eFax is a company that will charge you for services you're not using including charging fees that are not covered in their terms and conditions. We recently obtained an unauthorized charge of $99.99 from them seemingly out of nowhere despite not even using the service we were paying for for that month. We use it once every three months and in a month where nothing was faxed, they charged us another $99.99. We are disputing the charge with AMEX and cancelling the service.
Their support defended the charge, but couldn't tell us what it was for. I would personally recommend you stay away from this scam company.
EFax is a complete scam. I went to cancel the online, was advised to contact, contacted through email, initial reply was timely (future responses were none existent), reroute me back to the website to cancel, which I did, this time I took a screenshot of the info, forwarded this in an email, was told to chat online, no option on the page for chat so responded through email with the screen shot, had more money taken out today (a month after the first email), called up to a sorry excuse for customer service, requested manager as the rep was highly unhelpful, thought I'd search reviews and low and behold cancellation is a big issue for people, wish I read the reviews first, glad I've got my screenshot and email proof. Waiting manager callback will update - l have no faith or respect for this company so far, the manager may be able to find a resolution

We in frequently use a fax so we tried eFax. When it worked it was okay. However, they demand we change our password every month which is unnecessary and ridiculous. We asked if we can take our fax number since it was all over our business literature. They said NO. Then when we asked why, they hung up on us. Customer service sucks also.
I really give it no stars as they are horrible. This company lied about their policies on cancelling and have very bad service, capabilities and customer service. Stay away is my recommendation as there are many more honest companies around to provide. Just be careful as they lurk behind many names. Anything J2Global is bad would be my guess. They told me if I cancelled I could still use the service as I paid until a date and all the information would be retained... that was a lie. Do not trust this company on any level and certainly with your credit card. I have cancelled the associated card number and requested a new one for my protection. A very, very, bad company.
I have sent a single fax with them back in December. I don't use fax on a day to day basis, I only needed to send one page to bring my minor daughter back home after a funeral. Since i dont need it, i cancelled (or so i thought) right away. In April i noticed my account was billed by them and I immediately tried to phone them and cancel. I got no answer at all, no available chat, no one answering the phone, no response to my emails. Same story every month. They have now billed me 118£ for a single page of fax and I cant reach them to get my money back and stop these payments. They are crooks and don't care about their customers at all! I've never been treated so unfairly.

I have been trying to cancel my account for MONTHS! Out of the maybe 25 faxes I've sent, 3 were successful. I have tried on several occasions to get some on the phone and it is impossible. Going to have to cancel my credit card just to stop getting charged. Makes absolutely NO sense!
I was interested to try the free trial to see how it worked. It worked fine, but soon after I saw my credit card was charged. Now I am trying to cancel my account and it seems that it's not that easy and that I will have to fight for it. Don't fall in the trap.

Always been a fantastic service just no longer have need to send or receive faxes so will not be using the service anymore but they have been a god send from fax to email so we never had to deal with irritating fax machines. When it came to cancelling I got to speak to a human who was helpful but sad we were leaving, excellent service to the end.

I had two issues that needed address, an old fax number that online would not remove and adding an email to my account that also online would not handle. With in just a few minutes Rowena was able to take care of both issues for me.
I totally agree with the other reviewers. This company is one of the worst companies I've ever done business with. There is no where on the website to cancel your service. They automatically charge your card for a renewal and give you absolutely no notification. When I called to say I didn't want to renew (after getting my Amex bill), the telephone menu was impossible to navigate. After 3 hang-ups, I finally got through to customer service line and was put on hold for an hour. The customer service rep told me I could have had a full refund if I'd called within a couple days of the charge. Of course, that would have only been possible if I had been notified that my card was being charged -- which I WASN'T! I don't recommend doing business with this company -- obviously!
M company has been a customer of eFax for 18+ years. Unfortuneately due to the way our business operates, we had to terminate this long standing partnership. Spoke to a lovely Customer Service guy - Stefan, who totally understood our reasons and was very helpful. EFax is a good service to use in the age of going paperless. I would definately use them again, if our business model changes.
Way over priced. Horrible porting out experience. Rejected numerous times when trying to port out. Horrible customer service. Long hold times. Cant get to the right person. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They will price gouge you then hold your number hostage.

I agree with a lot of the comments here. Company sales and support reps blatantly lie. When my company signed up, we specifically asked them if we could port our number if we chose to leave. They said 'Yes' and I very clearly remember that because it was a key decision for us signing up. We started with them and they tripled the prices without giving any notice. Then we said we'd like to pull the number out and they said numbers can't be ported out.
This company is highly deceptive and participates in very disrespectful and deceptive business practices. They have no respect for their clients and their goal is to trick people into paying more. We brought this up with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and their response was equally disrespectful and dishonest. It's BBB case number ******* in the Northern California BBB if anyone cares to review for extra details.
Needed to send some faxes urgently due to covid-19, service worked but no longer needed. Emailed to cancel and got confirmation back same day, i was offered a discount but declined as my use is totally over. If needed i will sign back up, thanks efax - Simon

When you can understand their broken English, the awful phone connection makes you have to repeat things over and over to their India-based customer service. Obviously, eFax cares very little about their customers and is going for the cheapest service in India. Ironic for a communications company.
