I registered on ebay, added PayPal, made a purchase. After an hour my account is blocked. Reason? They can't name any. They claim to care about safety. I lost $400 and a lot of time. I didn't get the money back. Under the product, it says that buyer protection is enabled. It says on PayPal that there is buyer protection in the transaction. It says on Ebay that this product has no buyer protection and it is not possible to cancel the order. Common scammers. Someone should lock them up.
On several occasions, eBay allowed me to be a victim of fraudulent Vendors. After being conned by a dishonesty Vendor, it was totally up to me, to find a way of getting my money back on a refundable item. I am hoping that the Federal Trade Commission investigate their way of doing business. The unfair way that customers are being lied to by a Customer Service person has worsened. There are actually so many cases like this, til it's app are over flowing with bad experiences. No matter what it takes, it is an urgent matter that Ebay clean up it's act, starting with it's horrible Customer Service.
I have had nothing but bad experience with the ebay company. The sellers are great and if they make a mistake they fix it. The company on the other hand sends out vague emails about violations. That you cant respond back to or defend your self. You dont even know what you did wrong. They have horrible customer service.
Have been buying on ebay for years, don't sell much-too much of a hassle. As for buying, the buyer needs to be savvy to get a deal. It blows me away that some people will pay more on ebay than the item costs new(and is frequently still available) in the store. Do your homework, read seller reviews and if it seems to good to be true, it is probably fake. Great resource just use it wisely.
As an international buyer Amazon usually won't have the random products I'm looking for so EBay is my go to site. When I have had a problem with a seller in the past EBay responded immediately to emails and offered a refund. One of the few online companies I can buy from and be sure my information isn't compromised + good communication and customer help. I would recommend.
Lately, the taxes, the fees on the sellers - are way too high! This is daytime robbery! I sold an item, which was around $350, and they took all of my profit on it, taking nearly $60! Insane. I will never use eBay again. Robbery.
EBay is messed up. They made it hard to understand. They hide things. You can't reach anyone. I been with them for 25 years. They have control of 99 percent of my business.
Now is the time for someone to compete with them.
Bring back the simple ways. Terms. They don't care about you. It is all about the almighty dollar.
It use to be fun. As a seller. With the nee changes. At least every other week I am being ripped off.
I will jump ship soon. They took all the joy out of what was once a fun Market place.
The phone line people are useless and the I got banned after one purchase. Also, they won't tell me why, I used a legit debit card with adequate funds. I have no idea what offense I could have done. I did receive my item, but I give that credit to the seller not Ebay $#*! them, thank you seller
This is a ZERO star review by the way.
After being on eBay for 21 years it's time for me to pull the plug. This company is absolutely awful what with its greedy fees, absolute pathetic and horrible customer service and most importantly now they even want your social security number to sell an item.
That was a final straw for me. You are not my boss, I do not work for you and you are not my bank so what gives you the right to want my social security number?
I will not give eBay any more of my time or business. Even after I pulled all of my auctions off of eBay, even as a buyer they blocked me from even sending a message to somebody who I bought from recently and I had to spend an hour on the phone to try and sort that out to which I was told this might be resolved in 48 hours.
It's sad to see a company go from being brilliant to just having no ethics and being completely greedy.
They're customer service is a joke! Not helpful at all, rude, and reads off a script. Locked my account because I had something posted in "the wrong category". When I called they offered no help. Would it not be better to tell a user what they are doing wrong so they can fix it instead of penalizing them and not not offering to help or show one ounce or human compassion? Beware of "Mike", the "supervisor". So rude, he actually swore at me!
Hugo, you were not "tricked". You obviously did not do your homework by investigating the site before blindly plunging in. EBay exists to make money. Period. It is not a cooperative or a charity. Anyone new to eBay must read the "terms of service", where all of the specifics are clearly stated. Perhaps your listing fee was zero (though this is hard to believe), but ebay justifiably takes a "final value fee" that is a percentage of the sale price, as does PayPal.
Since eBay has become too big and the administrators don't have idea or solution of how to control each transactions, eBay has turned into a very good ground for thieves and scammers. You could easily make thousands of dollars at eBay and cheat people out of their money and run away with people's money. That proves that eBay is no longer a save place to do any transactions. This seller 666hope(*******) is an obvious example of a fraudulent and criminal entity. Below is a copy of tracking number that they created and showed as a proof.
They don't care a out the customer when they screw up. Ive been an Ebay customer for years and have never had a reason to use their customer service. They billed my account incorrectly. After several hours of me calling them, escalating it to "supervisors", some of whom hung up on me, I finally got them to issue a credit. They never want to admit that they screwed up. They hear what they want and use poor excuses to justify that they don't care about providing service to the customer. I specifically asked Mark who is a "Manager" how I can file a formal complaint. He said that there isn't a way... then hung up. Another "supervisor" named Michelle also hung up on me after she refused my request to speak with her boss. This was all regarding an Ebay problem, not between buyer / seller.
UNACCEPTABLE
If you have an issue as a seller with eBay. Firstly they don't care because they only care about buyers for some reason dispute the rip off fees they charge. Secondly the customer service is terrible they have no experience of how eBay actually works. Don't bother calling them it would be a waste of your time, they resolve NOTHING. And Thirdly they know their time as top dog is fading fast, lots of alternatives to use now.
Ebay is now officially a scam. Customer service is non existent and nearly impossible to find. This company will make it so time consuming and miserable with dead ends and endless searches to speak with an agent that they hope you'll give up and call it a write off. My son ordered a $180 tool. The wrong tool. I caught it and 10 minutes after he put the order in I requested a refund. The seller denied the refund and then didn't ship the tool. After 3 hrs of multiple attempts at contacting eBay I never did actually speak with an agent and have yet to hear back from them. I was shocked at how extremely shady this went down. I was completely taken advantage of and it will be an absolute last resort for me if ever to return as a buyer. I recommend against making purchases from ebay.
I contacted a seller with a question more than a week ago, TWICE and they never responded. I thought perhaps for some reason they may not be getting my question so I contacted eBay with the concern and they said they would not send them an email notifying them of this. I realize an emergency might have kept them away but still, a notification of some type must be possible and if not eBay should make one easily incorporated as an auto response to question in such a case. So what if half the sellers on eBay decided to put their items on there then just sit back and ignore potential buyers, is that good business practice? Rather a turn off to me and I went elsewhere
I will admit if you are a buyer there is no cheaper site. My issue stems from the selling aspect of the site. Through selling 1 item I earned "Payments (last 31 days)
Received $11.99", Yet I owed "Amount due as of Sep-10-10: US $8.05" and guess what... after that payment I still owed more!
This is another great and best website I have experience to buy some stuff. Especially they offer customs duty payment in advance if you buy things from abroad and I love it as in the country I live the customs might take ages to release your merchandise but never had problem with eBay so far
I cannot imagine my life without Ebay! I can find there accessories and other stuff which I will never find in usual shop or it will take ages to find them. A couple of times I had some problems with the deliveries. Once I purchased a wooden bath brush and I received it broken in two parts and next time my parcel was lost… I don’t know whose fault was this but in both cases my claims were accepted and solved. I didn’t experience any problems with PayPal transactions so far.
I ordered 2 micro sim cards - 32 GB. It's 10 days now but still not delivered. They are mediators between buyers and sellers and dont have their own ware houses. Most of sellers are fraud. Please don't buy anything from this site
Soon they will be out of market because of lack of customer service.
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
