Rip off
March 20, 2022

You are a rip off
You are a rip off, We got to Malaga and was refused the car because we would not pay nearly 300 uros we were told my driving license was not good enough we needed an international license, we argued that nowhere does it state that our UK license was no longer valid and as We booked from uk there was nothing to say UK drivers needed to get this additional license, further more the person at the airport was rude and made it quite clear he was not intrested in that there was nothing on the doyouspain website, when we called the telephone number we spoke to somene who said his name was Mathew his employee number was 5000 and when we said the same he just said we no longer accept uk drivers license and when asked where on the website he said he didnt know

Booked 28 days car hire with company OKMobility sept-Oct 2022 through DoyouSpain website. Worst experience ever in hiring cars at Alicante airport ( Been hiring cars here for over 16 years). Car in v poor condition on pick up- rental agreement with no Terms and conditions, pre-existing damage to car not marked on the rental agreement, also some damage recorded on the agreement was actually on the other side of the car! Staff refused to update or amend or add the existing unrecorded damage to the contract, told to take pictures/video of the entire car- black car in dimly lit car park at 10.00 at night!,returned the car- was checked by OK mobility staff, told all Ok. Asked for receipt to confirm satisfactory return- not forthcoming! 2 days later 200 euro charge to credit card, no communication whatsoever from the company. Completely outrageous behavior. No response by Okmobility to phone calls emails etc. finally got brokerDoyouSpain company to pursue with Ok to provide explanation... charge for damage -scratch to wheel rim! Totally unacceptable practices on every level. How can a customer be expected to sign a rental agreement at collection which is entirely inaccurate and incomplete? How can a charge be made to a customer 2 days after the car was returned and signed off as fine? Tried to resolve with Doyouspain and Okmobility- neither interested in addressing the matter with anything other than a minimal response- and confirmation of the charge- no evidence of damage provided. Totally unreasonable, unscrupulous and untrustworthy behavior- I would warn other customers not to use these outlets which would appear to be devoid of any basic sense of integrity. Furthermore, customers should purchase annual car hire excess insurance in the UK ( about 40 pounds rather than the highly inflated cost of additional insurance charged by hire companies), to protect against damages or arbitrary charges to clients not purchasing additional insurance cover added by companies to enhance profits. Who needs this treatment when traveling or on holiday!

Avoid at all costs
September 30, 2023

DoYouSpain uses Drivalia at the Barcellona airport. It is a shuttle ride away, and first you have take a shuttle to the shuttle --depending on the terminal. OK, the rate was cheap so we'll put up with a shuttle. But having to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes in line? That wasn't fun. And the reason for the long wait? Its because they have to explain all their extra surcharges, fees, credit card holds etc. We had car insurance thru Amex, we paid for the rental using Amex. We weren't allowed to pick up the car until we paid 280€ in additional, unneeded insurance. Emails had assured that the 110€ insurance option was optional -- it wasn't and it was now 280€. OR they would charge us 1,000€ and refund it when we brought the car back. Next surcharge was for gas and that was a 100€ credit card hold. We rented a Fiat 500 -- it couldn't hold 100€ of gas!
Then we brought the car back there was a mileage surcharge. We were told it was 4000 km, but it turns out its really 2000km, so have another surcharge.
And any credit card holds that they had would take 10 business days to return to you...funny, they could take the money electronically but giving it back wasn't going to be quick or easy.
Also, the car itself didn't have a full tank of gas, it was only 3/4 and there were two warning lights that we could not figure out if it was any kind of emergency.
Long story short: ADOID DOYOU AND DRIVALIA.

We had a bad experience with DoYouSpain car rental broker. Our booking was to pick up a car at Tenerife South Terminal at 6 pm on Saturday 24 December. We arrived at 7.15 pm to find that the car rental office OK Mobility was closed. This was a shock, we had 50 miles to go to our destination and DoyouSpain telephone support was closed as was OK Mobility. This was despite the DoyouSpain website stating that there would be a 'courtesy period' if you are late and the OKMobility website stating that their offices opening hours are Mon to Sun 7 am to 10 pm.
Thankfully the bus driver and assistant that took us to the offsite car rental office brought us back to the airport and eventually managed to rent another car however only for two days at €205. We thought that on Monday we could travel back to the airport and pick up the car from OKMobilty. Unfortunately, NOT. We were told by OKMobility that we would need to call DoyouSpain and have the booking modified. DoyouSpain refused so we had to hire another car after some desperate web searching for the remaining time of our stay. That cost €498.
I contacted DoyouSpain for a refund since they had not provided us with a car but they refused stating "after reviewing the booking, we can confirm that it was made for pick up at 18:00, not 19:00. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but this is a non-refundable offer and we are unable to offer a refund."
I've hired many cars at international airports and always find Car Rentals understanding and flexible about pick-up times (within reason) but not DoyouSpain or OKMobility. As you can imagine I had several calls to DoyouSpain throughout this ordeal and the attitude was uncaring and unhelpful, employees clearly not happy with their work despite their Website niceties. OKMobilty was not much better either.
A €375 car hire ended up costing €1078.
I have submitted a complaint to the European Car Rental Conciliation Service (ECRCS) because although we were late with the pickup DoyouSpain behavior is unjustified.
So much for the Christmas spirit

I would like to file a complaint against DoyouSpain Company (address: Rda.del Millars, 190 Bis, ******* Castellon de la Plana, Spain) which is refusing to reimburse me for car rental that didn't happen.
On September 17,2022 I made a car reservation in Malaga for October 18 with DoyouSpain and paid 356.40 euro. When I arrived late at the Alamo desk in Malaga on 18/10/2022 (due to flight delay I don't control), I was told that my order was canceled (their policy is to hold cars only for 1 hour after the estimated arrival time) and there is no car for me. The Alamo agent told me that because of the cancellation there was no transaction made and Alamo didn't receive any money from DoyouSpain They even supplied me with an email stating-no transaction) I asked the agent to call DoyouSpain Office to check if I'll get the renting money back and when she called, she was told that I'll be getting it back. Because I didn't receive any money, I contacted the company several times and each time they referred to my purchased insurance "Platinum Excess Waiver" (which I also purchased as extra insurance), completely ignoring my request for reimbursement for the car rental. It is obvious that the company is using "tactics" that will allow them not to refund me. I am sharing my experience with other peopole so they will avoid doing business with DoyouSpain.
I hope that someone in the company who may read this review and has some conscience will make it possible to receive the car rental fee (356.40 eur) which was never used.

DO NOT USE
November 3, 2022

DO NOT USE. Through no fault of our own we lost our booking.

We had a hire car booked in Tenerife South for collection on the 22nd October around 1pm. In order to get there we had connecting flights through Lisbon however because of a software update in Portugal our flight was delayed and we missed the connecting flight. As there were no more flights we needed to source alternatives which took us to Tenerife North (south was impossible) but it was a late arrival. Ok, that's the back story.

On the 22nd we kept trying to call DoYouSpain to explain what had happened but the phone just rings and rings and rings, nobody ever answers. I sent an email to DoYouSpain but to this day nobody has replied. I got the "somebody will contact you shortly" email but nothing since and yes, I have checked my junk.

We arrived very late into Tenerife North and had to get a taxi to where we were staying, far too late to go to the South airport for the car as I'm sure the office would be closed. So, the next day I set off on the bus to get the car from the other airport...

When I got there, there was another family in front of me having issues with the rental company, however their plight sounded very similar to my own. They also had hired a car through DoYouSpain but had missed the collection due to delayed flights but the hire car company refused to honour the booking so I was not looking forward to talking to them.

The hire car company did not care, they simply kept telling me that the booking was now cancelled because I'd not arrived on time and there was no chance of a refund, my only option was to hire another car with them. When i said I've booked a car for 7 days, why does collecting my car on day 2 make a problem, i've hired it for 7 days?!?!? I was just told to take it up with DoYouSpain as it's "not our problem"

So I again tried to call DoYouSpain and yes, you've guessed it, nobody answered the phone using the number the hire car company gave me which was a different number.

This company is simply a scam job, they'll take your money and just disappear. Trust me, do not use them, they may come up cheap and you're thinking you have a bargain, but any slight hitch and you've lost your money and your car.

In the end I hired another car through a different company, so I've had to pay for 2 cars to just drive one of them.

I'm sure i'll get some reply about reading "terms and conditions" but this just garbage as I didn't miss the booking because of any fault of my own as funnily enough I can't control Lisbon airspace. Sometimes companies can't hide behind corporate garbage, they should have contingencies in place through "no fault" missed bookings.

Do not use DoYouSpain!
March 11, 2022

We are very dissatisfied with the service provided from DoYouSpain.

Our complaint is that they did not inform us up front of the new requirement for an International Drivers Permit that came in on the 28th Feb 2022. It should have been very clear on their web site at the point of browsing and booking the car hire.

That cost us an additional 252 euros or around £200 (less the £5.50 for the IDP we could have bought in the UK before we arrived). We requested a refund but they did not respond.

The new need for an IDP only appeared in in the small print of our DoYouSpain contract; It was not flagged up front in the DoYouSpain web site at the point of ordering or in the follow up email. If they could add it to their contract small print, then they could flag it on the main ordering page and confirming email. You might even say it was more important to do that given this is a brand new requirement.

On arrival at the Delpaso car hire office on the 2nd March 2022 we were then given the options of:

1. Pay an excess insurance waiver for 252 Euros (why that affects a legal requirement was not explained).
A. Delpaso seemed to be eager to offer this option and appeared to be offering it to many customers while we waited, some of whom became very upset.
2. Call DoYouSpain to get a different car hire contract.
3. Get a bus.

We first tried to cancel the DoYouSpain contract online but the web site said it was past the start time so could not be cancelled. We did call their DoYouSpain number and after 50 mins waiting for an answer the lady said that she could try and get a refund from Delpaso (no guarantee...), and she could offer a new contract for 509 euros (our original contract was for 356 euros).

We cannot get an IDP now we are in Spain, you can only get one from the post office in the UK, so our choices were:

1. Lose our original 356 euros contract booking with no guarantee of a refund and no car to get to our accommodation.
2. Pay for a new contract at the higher price of 509 euros, with no guarantee of a refund for our original 356 euros contract.
3. Pay 252 euros for an additional insurance that seemed a lot like the usual rip off excess waiver.

We chose the 252 euros because we were hostages at that point and it was the cheapest option. If they had informed us we needed an IDP earlier in the purchase, we would have bought one for £5.50 when we bought our Euros in the Post Office.

Vorsicht!

Nie polecam - do not recomend

I don't recomend DoyouSpain at all. Don't use it. They sell you the full cover insurance which according the operator is not valid at all. And you must any way to leave deposit, If not - you need to pay next insurance by the desk and it most then double the cost of renta. For me this is just cheating.
Rental cost was 200 E, insurance from Doyouspain - 100 E - by desk they want me to pay 339 E. Just cheating

Lamentable servicio y falta de ética
June 29, 2022
