Cons: they are often understaffed and the line for the register can get really backed up. Often, there are boxes left in the aisles, creating a tripping hazard.
Pros: generally friendly service. You can find some really great and unique items. You can walk out with a huge bag stuffed full of merchandise for little money.
It even beats other places on artificial flowers, pens, stuffed animals... lots of stuff! Where can you buy stuffed animals --- new ones! -- for the doggie shelters for $1.00 apiece! Love this store. Have even tried the food -- you can get Progresso soup for one half off. Too much to even mention. You just can't go wrong, at least I haven't -- and don't even have to have a receipt to return -- they know their product. I've bought their WONDERFUL Christmas knit hats in bulk and they are multiple times cheaper than even Walmart.
Since Covid the dollar tree stores have looked like a hurricane ripped through. Not the store at 324 Capital Blvd., everything is in its place, and it is very well stocked. It is easy to find what you are looking for and the sales people are very helpful and friendly. I happened to be in that area and stopped by. Now that I know where it is, I will go out of my way to shop there!
I LOVE dollar stores in general. It lets you know how much you are getting ripped off by other stores. I recently went to a Dollar Tree and got name brand candy, sugar free drink mixes, and other assorted not-made-in-China name brand canned goods. My neighborhood 99 cent store beats any anywhere with its fresh produce, frozen food, fresh name brand breads, flowering plants, spices, USA catfood, etc., but Dollar Tree is still good for what it sells. If you haven't been to one, give it a try.
It's the same price as in the stores, but they make you buy a lot more! So, where are the savings? Same price, spend more. NO SAVINGS! I can use maybe 5 wire baskets, but 36 wire baskets? NO! I will continue to shop in-store & buy only what I need today & near future. I used to do a lot of my shopping at Dollar Tree, but since they raised their prices by 25%, I shop at other stores that are still $1.00 for a lot of items that used to be $1.00 at Dollar Tree. I'll bet you won't include this review, because I tell the truth!
I go to two dollartree stores(San Juan Capistrano, Capistrano beach) and this happened at one of them(San Juan Capistrano,) This one particular guy seems to ring the items. I didn't buy or overcharge the item.
Second time I caught him, I showed my receipt and items in the bag. He called up the other employee and they started arguing to me (instead of explaining to me)that there's nothing wrong. I waited their apology but it never came, saying, "Nobody's perfect." was the closest thing they said. Since then I never returned to that store. It's more important to defend their colleague than the customer even if they know they are wrong.
O. K... it's very simple. Manage your expectations, realize what you're paying, understand what you're getting, keep your perspective and enjoy the store. If you need it cheaply, and it's here... BAM, you're a happy camper. Otherwise, go somewhere else and "quit your $#*!in'!
Oh yes... rhetorical question... who are these people that "return" things to the DT? Give it away, trash it, whatever... but, it can't be worth your time to return it. Plus, you hold us up in the checkout lines;-)
I used to go to this Dollar Tree a lot for various storage, office and craft items. Hadn't been in several months. Went yesterday...It was HORRIBLE. Items of all sorts LITERALLY all over the floor...imo poses a safety hazard. Shelves totally disorganized, poorly stocked. Premises looked dirty, unkempt. Cleanliness sorely lacking. Frankly, the store's general state was utterly shocking. Public health and safety issues. I used to love this store. Corporate really needs to attend to this location.
Dollar Tree Mt Royal Blvd
I was a customer in your Mt Royal store today. Monica was very unprofessional and extremely out of line. I will be reaching out to everyone possible until this issue is resolved. This woman displayed disrespect for herself and everyone that was in line after me.
John, on the other hard, was courteous and professional.
Well, my favorite store of all times is no more. I was very disappointed when they raised their prices to $1.25...I mean, how can you call yourself "DOLLAR Tree" and charge more than a dollar...but I kinda understood. What I DON'T understand, is why I got home yesterday and read my receipt and over HALF of the items I purchased were rung up as $3.00! NOWHERE did it say this in the store! If it had, I would have turned around and left. I mean, WHAT is the point of shopping at a dollar store if you have to pay what other stores are charging? Shame on you Dollar Tree!
I was so happy to find out I could order online from the Dollar Tree. I placed my first order and received an email saying my order was ready to be picked up at the store. I went to pick it up 3 days after I received my email confirmation, only to find out my order was not there. I called the number provided for the website and they said they were going to call the store to confirm the merchandize is not in. After they confirm the store does not have the merchandize, they will refund my money and I have to place the order again. I don't understand why they would send me an email stating the order arrived when it didn't. I was going to use these items for a party, now I am behind schedule because if I order them again, I have to wait another month, and there is no guarantee that the items will be shipped. Very frustrating!
Dollar Tree Online Shoppers BEWARE! I rarely use this site; but, they had a special on shipping. And, they have the least expensive bulk price for tissue paper (for gifts). VERY long story short, our items didn't arrive. Called Dollar Tree support to advise. Very poor customer service and they refused to refund the money for items we didn't receive. And, the representatives were rude. Wasn't much; but, it was still our money. I know these are tough times; and, most can't afford NOT to shop at Dollar Tree. My goal? Avoid using them if you can. And, DEFINITELY try not to order online. They'll keep your money AND your merchandise. Guess their unscrupulous business practices is how they stay cheap. Proves the old adage, you get what you pay for!.
I was waiting to check out at my local dollar tree. Merimac Trail, Williamsburg. When the asst. Manager Sharon starts yelling at the cashier for over two minutes. I was so embarrassed for her. You could tell how humiliated she was. You just dont do that to employees, especially in front of customers. I wont go back
I recently bought a carton of Allen's Cranberry Cocktail Juice, that contained, mentrual blood!. Yes!. You heard me right, with the blood clot and some kind of paper, or membrane, also in the container. I took pictures of it. I had bought this product, recently, from a Dollar Tree Canada's store, at 1224 Dundas Street, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and their response, since I had also contacted them about this, (Which they also witnessed, for themselves), was less than receptive. I am going to sue both Dollartree and Lassonde, a Canadian owned company. I have not contacted, the owner of Allen's Cranberry Cocktail Juice, as yet, Dollar Tree Canada's response, was disgusting. They refused, to do a recall and to take the remaining, boxes of cranberry juices, off of the shelf, at the store. I was so f--k--g traumatized, it's not even funny. Avoid buying any kind of juices, or food products, at Dollar Tree Canada, stores. And also since this is a Lassonde's product, avoid their food products, especially cranberry juices and other kinds of juices, as well. You will end up drinking, menstrual blood, that is contained, in their products. See the pictures, that I have posted, showing the menstrual blood clot, in the cup. And coming from the same product, beside the cup, the box of Allen's Cranberry Cocktail.
Sitejabber, blocks me from posting the images, here. See Dollar Tree Canada, Facebook page.
Not sure what Dollar Tree was thinking to increase its prices by 25%! Without any increase in variety or quality. Much better value and quality at Dollar General and even Walmart. Very disappointed in what was one of my favorite stores. Not worth the effort to shop there anymore.
I purchase online all the time. Dollar Tree provided the worst service I have had in years. I was notified three times my items were at the store for pickup. I went to the store three times. My package was not there. I got a different excuse everytime. 1. It was lost in shipping. You have to cancel the order and reorder. I did that. 2. It won't be in until Tuesday of next week. 3. The truck didn't come today it was delayed. Come back tomorrow. Nite that I received emails several times saying it was in the store. Forget them. Use another dollar type store. They raised their prices 25 percent.
I purchased 4 of these pens at my local dollar tree. I have found that if you use a whitening toothpaste when you brush, like colgates daily whitening, and this pen, it works quite nicely. The only thing I don't like is that I have to sit with a big toothy grin while it dries. Doesn't take long, but you look stupid.
I like Dollar Tree the best of the dollar stores. They have friendly staff and a large selection of items, many are name brands. They also have large parking lots and are in convenient locations.
That being said it is a dollar store so mostly still lower quality items and sometimes food is a bit stale. Also if an item is there on week don't expect it to be there the next week.
Yes near by and I buy there fron items for my electronics, to vitamins. Greeting cards items for cars. At Christmas time go early is packed with people getting from lights to the specialty gift wrapping items.
I have been a witness of how rude some of the customer are the the cashiers at the dollar tree. I witnessed one yesterday I felt bad for the person behind the counter. Some people don't know how to be nice and it was the customers mistake not the person behind the cashier. These people don't get paid enough to take that type of abuse. I'm a local that always shop at the store in Hudson/Berlin line.
