Love this store, good quality items and great prices! With the extremely friendly lady at the front checkout- there is even more to love! Wish I had gotten her name! She told me the store was under new management, I haven't lived in Snellville long, so not sure how it was before new management but am impressed with it now! Will certainly be back really soon & is now one of my favorite stores! It is really close to home so will surely be a frequent shopper! Thank you!
On June 29,2023 I walked into the store at 1940 McHenry Avenue in Escalon California. I did a little bit of shopping and as I walked up to the front I asked for the key to the restroom. The young lady at the register handed me a key, not saying a word. When I went to open the restroom door, there was poop all over the toilet seat. I came out and asked the young lady at the register if I could use the other restroom and explain to her why. She said no that it was only for employees. Now I am an elderly lady, and at my age there's time that I can't hold from going to the restroom. So I was really upset and I asked for the manager. The manager came out and I explain to her what was going on. She didn't seem to believe me, so she grabbed the key and went in the restroom to check it out. So at that time I walked up to ring up my items I had in my cart. So I asked her if they were going to clean up the restroom and both the employee and the manager did not respond to my question. It was very disgusting what I saw in that bathroom. I think that you need a new manager. New employees that care about their customers. Customer service is the main thing to know. I have been in Customer Service for 57 years And I have never treated my customers like I was treated here.

Store on lake june #1221 i believe thats the store #...The worsest store employees always with bad cistomer service and even tho the customer is right they tend to try and intimidate you and thats not right anything bad can happen one day and it will be too late to be able to change then its always messy in there and always just one register is open having employees working...i had an issue today i went to return items because of false advertising and they get mad at me because i corrected them makes no sense and they still ripped me off not giving me back my full refund! I go because is the closest to me what a $#*!ty store tho..
Since the remodel with the registers so close together I refuse to shop there like I used too I'll go back to Walmart when I need a buggy full and only stop there when I need 1 or 2 things, which is a shame because used to love shopping a DG and hated Walmart
I was hired as the full time lead key holder of DG. After 1 week the GM told me I was going to part time because she didn't want to burn me out, it cost less to pay the part time to work, then I had to be available all the time. Prior to starting I made it aware of obligations I had in the month of July and the GM and DM was fine with it. Yesterday I was called and told I was going down to part time and DG wants to keep employees hours at or under 30. I'm full time and only scheduled for 26 hours and all the part time had close to 40. Also when a product is close to expiration or no longer able to be sold for what ever reason (to much product, newer product, discontinued) they scan it in the system as donated but destroy it and put it in the dumpster for a tax write off instead of actually donating it to shelters or pantries. I find out today that not only was I made part time but the GM hired 2 more full time employees and gave one girl a raise a month ago and is giving her another one soon. I worked my butt off helping restore this store when everyone walked out weeks before and trashed the store. Instead of talking about the issue at hand I find out lies and more lies. Don't work at DG if your looking to pay your bills. Now there is one manager at another store that is excellent and helps his employees... but the one in Millington Michigan, Beware. I'm a protected veteran and am protected by ADA.
I always go to this store cause the staff is friendly. There is a new cashier there she does not greet the customer. Visited with other employee the whole time she was ringing up the lady in front of me. I questioned the price of what I was buying the other employee went and verified the price I said. She seemed upset and I had to put my card in twice I questioned that and she told me not to argue with her. Not even a please. I called when I got home and asked for the manager told me she wasnt there asked for the cooperate number said she didnt know it. I guess I need to find me a new dollar general cause as long as she is there I wont be back.
I was just in Dollar General in Palmetto Florida on 10th Street I had coupons one for Gain laundry fling dtergent $2 off of 750 24 count or more I also had one for Tide flings a dollar off for 16 count, I went to purchase both of them and my coupons didn't come up the manager came over and the manager said to me well you have to buy two so I went back to where the coupons and detergent was to reassure myself that it didn't say bye too in order to use the coupon it didn't say that it didn't say by two it simply said by 1:00 and 750 $2 off which was a game fling and you can also purchase one he told me maybe I have the wrong coupons I showed him the coupons again they were the correct coupons then he went on to tell me I was probably at the wrong Dollar General never had that happen before I've always been going to that same Dollar General I don't know why this manager with a 10th grade education try to tell me that I'm wrong and I can't read he was wrong he know he was wrong and I'm going to put it out there about Dollar General and how conniving and dumb the employees are there I rather stop at Family Dollar at least they honor their coupons and ads then deal with those fools that you have working there and Palmetto on 10th Street Big Liars and don't like honoring your coupons so beware beware of Palmetto 10th Street Dollar

I applied to Dollar General (Millington Michigan store #*******) and received a phone from the hiring manager about a position there. I filled out the hiring package and summited it. Then I waited and waited and waited, So I called corporate and they said my background check was still processing. I try'd to call HR (#*******447 press 6 then 2) for new hiring help and all you get is a recording that says " if you have any questions check out the Q&A on our website thank you goodbye" I could not get anyone to help me at all. They just give you a case # and keep sending you in circles that go nowhere. I even emailed HR they closed my case and said waiting on your background check. Well I summited the hirring package on May 12th and to this day June 11th still nothing. I then called Millington Mi. Dollar General ask for the manager and was told there is no manager there, so I asked to speak with the hiring manager and was told there is no hiring manager. I ask what was going on? The guy replied everyone at this store quit today even the managers and he was just filling in from flint to try to keep the store open. Well that speaks volumes to me about their store operations and corporation. You might want to think twice about working for this company.
I just had an employee at #******* find it funny that she ran my whole order on one card when I asked for it to be split causing me a late fee. Also you provide no scanning gun at this location for bigger products. I have one good arm and just me due to an accident where I was injured and lost my husband. What about elderly people? You also make them shop then also have to again lift heavy object over the counter, put them back in the basket, and later have to load and unload their vehicles? One curtsy step starts with you. Is this a family location? I worked at Dollar General and never would I treat a customer in this manner. Nor anyone I worked with. Everyone talks about what a shame the world has come to. It takes the little steps in life such as having a good work ethic to build society up again. Very disappointed with this experience or I wouldn't be spending my time letting you know.

This is the second time this has happened at the Corning, California Dollar General. I brought my own bag, and when I looked at my receipt later I had been charged a bag fee for my own bag! Only 10 cents but this has happened twice. I do like shopping there though.
