Been on disqus a long time today they removed all of my posts. Aside from having a conservative lean mine are not mean or nasty. But good enough done with them, they are obviously in the political fight of their lives (dems) and have to stoop to
Underhanded tactics, like this shutting down of the President's rally's. This will probably be removed as well. Long live free speech!
For years now whenever I try to comment favorably on a concept increasingly disliked by liberal media, I get a generic Disqus error message. But when my comment is in line with the general media sentiments, I can comment just fine. It happens far too consistently to be due to chance. I'm confident Disqus is just another social media site engaging in social engineering. Of course it fails. You can't stop people from holding the values they do or having the perceptions they have simply by silencing them on your platform.
Shame on any media site that censors polite, legal, respectful comments JUST because the theses don't give with those of the site and its supporters.
They continually point out Trump's false statements, which is unnecessary. We can all listen to Trump babble lies all day long. Nobody needs reminding of his stench... https://www.metro.us/president-trump/trump-lies-hit-the-5000-count-experts-say-theyre-accelerating... https://www.metro.us/president-trump/trump-lies-hit-the-5000-count-experts-say-theyre-accelerating.
I respectfully stand by my contention that there is no free speech on Disqus. All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. A proclamation by the pigs who control the government in the novel Animal Farm, by George Orwell. You need to look no further than to my blocking on TMZ for my daring to comment on behalf of O.J. Simpson. Even though my comments involved the reiteration of facts within the public domain. While every other post of his personal vilification was allowed to stand. So their claim that only abusive or ad hominem posts are removed proves the contrary to be true.
Great until they adopted the appalling Captcha login Awful until they revert. There seems to be little logic in making logging more difficult. They will lose users because of adopting this despised system.
I have two Disqus accounts. Each is connected to a different email address. As I tend to stay logged in on sites that use Disqus, I forgot my passwords. Today I found that I had been logged out on one of my frequented sites. I went to Disqus to ask a question and found that in order to ask a question, I have to KNOW my password. I then requested a password reset email twice, finally got one 20 minutes later, and read "expired" when I tired to use it. I then request another password reset and got, "down for maintenance". I finally decided to delete my Disqus accounts and found that you cant do that - without a password. This is like hell, a needless, endless circle of pain. I can't log in, I can't reset my password, and I can't close my accounts. Maybe contacting my state attorney general would do something?
I was looking for a legitimate person to fix my credit score. It was so bad that I was denied numerous times getting anything so I needed help. I read about a credit specialist on a credit blog and I hired him. I noticed after a couple of days he had already cleared all negatives including my taxes and raised my score to an excellent 795. I qualified for a business loan. Should you need help fixing your credit, Contact (Hightechrepair at WriteMe dot Com).
I love the fact that I can go on Disqus and not constantly be set upon by whiny trolls who constantly spew hate speech because I can just block their constant vitriol from my sight with the handy blocking feature! Not to mention that most of the moderators there are wonderful people who know and ban a troll immediately when they see one, thank god.
You can even make your own forums for free! What more could you want?
Disqus seems to have zero rules for posting that are enforced regularly and across comment makers. They allow rude and racist comments to stand. They will mark your comment as spam if you are able to prove another poster wrong, even if you do so without profanity or personal attacks. It's about whether the moderators personally like what you're posting and not any standard. The quality of posters on Disqus are rather low however. So I'm not upset about this as it's really more of a playground for people who like to talk tough over the internet but you now they don't have the courage to say the same things in public.
If you're looking for thoughtful discourse Disqus is the furthest thing from your desires.
Disqus is a comprehensive commenting system and it does a great job when it comes to moderation. If you ever need help or technical support, be prepared to receive zero response even if you're a Pro account user. I had an issue about payment and they took more than two weeks to reply to me. Imagine me as a customer that is trying to pay them but they didn't entertain my complaints after 3 follow up emails. Eventually, I solved the issue on my own almost 3 weeks alter.
For a service that charges 99 USD a month for a Pro account, I would expect support that can respond within 3 days.
Would be nice to have a site like Disqus actually work for people to comment. Without being degraded, made fun of, or called names because somebody finds it amusing to make rude comments and not really ever contribute to the topic. Obviously we all know some of these kinds of people who now have a platform to shout out how great they are and how low you are. These people are why many sites are dropping comment altogether. Probably just as well. Disqus is not helping in maintaining a respectable comment site for discussions.
Disqus will censor you to no end, if you're not a Socialist or a Liberal or a Democrat. Simple as that. Don't waste your time trying to express your thoughts on any website who's comments section is run by Disqus. You're better off just emailing that website's customer service and telling them you won't be visiting their website while they use Disqus. We're supposed to be the land of the free, home of the brave. We're supposed to have freedom to express ourselves. Websites like Disqus are censoring anyone even close to center-right and right. That's not how Freedom of Speech works. Be warned.
They should change the name to disgruntled. I'm not surprised this is a San Francisco lefty operation. Up is down and right is wrong in this bizarro world decent into Socialist madness. Anti-law & order folks can go and drink the cool aid.
It used to work but not anymore. ABC news has comments section run by Diqus but you can only read the first few comments and then there are long streaks of black, then nothing... fix it please. This has been going on for a couple of months.
If you write the slightest thing that they might be offended by they delete your comment. If you look at the people in charge you can tell they are so far left they can't even conceive of any new ideas. EX: I wrote, "so many comments deleted." It was removed. I wrote, "this president can't win no matter what he says" REMOVED. Like really? No freedom of speech.
What a hypocritical left wing site. If your views do not conform to the collective you will be blocked on this site. Do not waste your time posting / commenting on this site or ABC news. Just like the socialist view and agenda that these sites promote, they run their sites likewise. In addition there is no way to contact them to discuss or inquire as to why you were blocked. What a bunch of closed minded hypocrites.
It's a sexual vibration toy for the left to get deep down in their pants. They use this platform to 'feel good' about themselves and hijack conservative sites. If you log out you get 'good' comments but if you have an account you get bots and spam replies. Disqus needs to be shut down.
America needs to start attacking government institutions and make the Capital Riots seem like running around the pool with scissors.
If you manage websites, take my advice. Do not use Disqus. I have read of far too many instances of them deleting comments that reportedly violated no user guidelines. I had originally discounted many of these claims by users until it happened to several of my comments. If you want your readers true opinions avoid until they have fixed this issue.
Wish I had seen these reviews before opening an account. Several months ago I came across a site with blatantly false and potentially harmful information that I felt should be corrected. Since I had deleted my Facebook account over a year ago, I needed to open a Disqus account in order to post a comment making a correction. There was nothing hostile or inappropriate about my comment. I merely stated the facts. I didn't sign in again until recently, only to find that my comment had been "removed" for no valid reason. I promptly deleted my account. After reading these reviews, I realize that my post had probably been blocked from the beginning, unbeknownst to me.
Stay away from Disqus! The moderators basically run the forums. If they don't agree with your opinion regardless if it was written in good taste, they will delete it. Most of them appear to have an agenda. Otherwise, why would they delete comments rather than respond to them. The moderators also get to comment on the subjects. Some of the moderators are very rude and mouthy. If you call them out on it, they just delete your comments. After one moderator made a comment, I asked them a question. After a couple back and forth comments, they started with the insults and name calling. Next came them deleting whichever comments they wanted. Even ones that were in a discussion with other people. When you flag their comment, nothing is done. It's a complete waste of time to complain. I've complained several times and have never gotten a response. The whole experience is very aggravating.
Answer: I believe our posts get removed and we get banned, even called retards from moderators--of whom you would think would act more like the referee and not the instigator--because each discussion has an agenda. As long as you go along with what everyone else who is still in the discussion is saying, you are fine. However, dare express an alternate opinion--of which you may not even realize you are doing--you are told you are trolling (which means you are purposely writing something meant to cause disruption). Therefore as a troll, your post is removed. If you then ask why your post was deleted, you are now called a retard and are banned from the discussion entirely. And when you become confused as to what just happened for no reason, especially after a moderator who uplifted several of your opinions disagreed with one and simply deleted it, you finally find someone in Disquis management. It is then you are told to take it up with the moderator who banned you or another moderator on the page. You are also told the moderators have free-run to delete anything and ban anyone they want to and that management WILL NOT step in or interfere with a moderator's decision, even if that moderator is belittling you and is cursing at you. Finally, if you decide to appeal to another moderator thinking you will get a rational response, you are told you "threatened" the moderator who banned you because you went to management. Then are you threatened with getting banned completely off of Disquis for life? It's as simple and as ignorant as that!
Answer: Obviously for the majority of reasons sited here! Thanks for the good news!
Answer: This question is not a well formed question. It's about net locations, IP and MAC addresses, logins and emails. You can't force someone to use their name. If such a standard was imposed, people would merely make up fake names. Better to just let them have the random anonymized handles they prefer. Do you know how risky it is to post online with your real identity? There is no limit to data retention with many of these companies online. As the major data brokers continue to consolidate and violate privacy with indefinite data retention, you'll see everything you've ever done online, one day in a central repository of data. In the US we're seeing a beta test roll out of something similar to the chinese people rating programs, taxing dissidents, denying participations of citizens if they don't agree with government, etc. The better question is why can't we be completely anonymous, and why does Disqus need to track and record our IP addresses?
Answer: Disqus is an awful company from kalifornia. They hate free speech
Answer: Because this site is run by a bunch of closed minded left wing liberals. I they do not agree with your posts... you will be blocked.
Disqus has a rating of 1.4 stars from 217 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Disqus most frequently mention free speech, abc news and conservative views. Disqus ranks 479th among Social Network sites.
