We had a terrible experience with DHL. Firstly, we posted the package 12days back and was supposed to arrive 4 days back as per tracking. We needed a small correction in apartment number and we got it corrected immediately while placing order. We kept tracking online and calling customer service to make sure its delivered to right address and on time. But since 4 days, all we hear is its delivered to wrong service location and then to wrong address and now still in transit. We are literally fighting with Customer service people and they can hardly help as they keep reading what we see on tracking. Package had prescribed Medication for a patient and we cannot do anything but to keep waiting.
All on all, its a nightmare for us and i would never encourage to ship with DHL again.
I have sent over 20 different packages with Express easy within Germany, delivery was supposed to take two days, it took four days, that's not express at all. In one case my package even came back after four days with no explanation why, written on the package that I should buy a new label, both addresses were correct and no reason given why the package was not delivered but returned to me. Lately I'm not even able to track my shipping at all, and this is what you pay for too. Not happy at all. Express 0*
Took more than 10 days just to reach canadian border from California with a 10$ shipping rate.
It took 6 days in total for Apple airtags to travel from China to Canada with no shipping fees
Avoid at all cos DHL
DHL delivered to UNKNOWN ADDRESS on WRONG DATE according to customer service on phone and email. Spent all afternoon trying to locate package after receiving voicemail message from DHL at phone number that "was not operating at this time" when I attempted to return the call in less than 30 minutes. Was told by email that package was going to be left outside at the door of the correct delivery address with was the post office for my POB, because DHL doesn't deliver to secured post office boxes, and DHL apparently would prefer to leave packages outside, unattended, in harsh weather of a progressive rain, sleet and snowstorm. Contacted multiple customer service agents by 800# and email to NO AVAIL. Was informed by email that once the package is located, I get the privilege of driving 98 miles round trip to pick up my package myself once the package is located. Is this the service DHL provides after I was charged almost $40 to ship a lightweight, unlined coat and 2 foldable nylon tote bags?
A typical DHL experience:
1) Package arrives late (unless already lost or broken)
2) They tell you that they will deliver it and guarantee it will arrive
3) Package doesn't arrive and they do this 2-3 more times before asking you to come down to their office and guarantee that it is ready
4) You wait in line for 20-30 minutes and then hear that the package isn't there.
5) You give up on the whole thing and ask for a refund
6) You never receive a refund or your package because DHL is satan.
Terrible, I have had to use this service 3x. I have never received a package on the delivery date. It's always about 2 weeks thereafter. Customer service has been rude every single time I've spoken with them. They also lie. On Monday said you should receive a clearance email today, now Wednesday They have said it'll take 3-4 business days. I sent in the extra paperwork they wanted a week ago... does anyone actually do their job at DHL, I think not
I sent a package to a customer in USA they deliver it to someone else without bothering to make sure or ask him about his name or even calling and ask him about his address for double checking. Had to pay 35$ for a lost delivery… the package cost me a lot …. What a shame. It is the 3rd time in a month that happened to me with DHL USA.
I m never ever recommend DHL company they left my shipping wrong home, when I called them we will called you back with 9 minutes no one called me I called them back they said we are investigating we will called you within 72 hours and. Finally they left my order outside road next to my and next to neighbor home on street my order was missing up box was broken I never never order this unprofessional delivered service they said 3 days take 1 weeks im super upset this company.
Ordered two separate things from one website. The things i ordered LAST CAME FIRST WITH USPS & DHL is showing delay after delay with NO HELP FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE. Like the absolute $#*!n worst!

Filled out the online forms to ship a $14,500 item from the USA to the UK. Included total value insurance of $14.5k, etc got the quote and paid the additional 20% pre in case I had weight the package wrongly. Agreed a pick up time between 1730-2100 hrs.
DHL person shows up at 1610 hrs when I am not there, hence 1730-2100 hrs. Lucky one of our kids was in.
Package supposed to be delivered on Tuesday midday by 1200 hrs. Pick up was Friday.
Package stuck in customs. I use the chat function, no help. Eventually on Tuesday someone from DHL reaches out to tell me that because I don't have an EIN number (something to do with being a business, I am not) DHL won't ship anything overseas with a value greater than $2,499.
Why they did not tell me that when I insured and declared the item to be worth $14,500 god only knows.
Item is retuned, I asked for signature. Item is left on our front door with no signature or DHL person insight. Lucky my wife saw the van pull away would have been less than funny had the item been stolen!
Next I get a bill for the USA-UK transaction, call the billing department which happens to be closed but their automated message just tells you "call us when we are open". Would be fine if the USA had 1 time zone and every one was on a 9-1700 hrs shift but it is now up to me to figure out what time zone they are in and what their office hours are!
I know they have a better reputation in Europe, but in the USA, i would avoid DHL like the clap. One thing for sure, German efficiency this aien't. Save yourself a lot of bother and hassle and use one of the other providers.

Having had a number of experiences in purchasing items abroad with DHL shipping, my experience is that their tracking is absolutely useless. When information is provided, which is far too infrequently, the information provided is nearly impossible to interpret. I don't know if it is a language problem, but it provides language that is either non-sense, or totally misleading. This includes frequent bouts of shipments being put on "hold", which may mean that the items is just sitting somewhere waiting for the next leg, but this kind of language is not helpful. The information seems to focus on providing information about when the package is not moving, and virtually no information on when it is, or is expected to do so. Virtually any other shipment tracking system is better than DHLs.
They charged me 261 $ to ship a small package from usa to india.(new delhi) date i gave the parcel to dhl was 11th jan 2022, they promised it will be delivered on 21st jan. I kept tracking and it did not even leave usa till 23rd. For unknown reasons. Finally it reached india and cleared customs which means duty was paid and than reached dhl hub in new delhi india 25th, now it us already 4 days behind schedule. Than they would not release/deliver the parcel if my relatives paid another 80$. So now total cost is 340$ for a small box. Total rip off, extortion. The 260 $ i paid should have covered all fees. Finally it got delivered on 29th, 8 days late, for a hefty price.
Wow. We paid $220 dollars to ship a 7 pound package to the Philippines. They did not communicate with us regarding the status until it was seized by customs. Now they want $500 more and paperwork submitted that we are not able to fill out. DHL Philippines told us the package would be abandoned and that we shouldn't even bother trying to fight for it or submitting the required paperwork. The package contained supplemental vitamins to help my aging in-laws. We will never use DHL again and want to warn anyone who reads this to not use this company.
DHL Express? Really... They have failed now several times to deliver a package to my door. It ends up at the post office because somewhere, someone decides that DHL needs to hand it off to USPS? You cannot reach them, cannot inform them... their service is non existent. In Europe I have contacted them several times. Never have they resolved anything nor have they called back when they said they would. Avoid.
Was at home when I received a text to say parcel had been delivered several minutes before and was in a black box. Parcel wasn't delivered and I don't have a black box. Rang the local DHL and they said they would get the driver to contact us within half an hour. Identified that the black box is outside a neighbours who doesn't wish to communicate with me. Luckily they were out and we recovered the parcel from the box outside their home. No call back from the driver. If the neighbours had been home we potentially would not have received the parcel which was an expensive package. Other neighbours had a parcel delivered to an address way down the road and it took 4 phone calls to identify where it was. Frustrating service to say the least.
Worst company ever.
Showed the delivery date of January 6th. On the 7th I get an email from DHL agent about additional information needed. Provided it to her right away. 2 days later they are telling me that they are sending the shipment back to shipper for undisclosed reason. No one knows why. Never had these type of problems with any other carriers. Never using DHL again.
First they tried to deliver my package to the wrong post office, 132 miles away from my town. Then they will not even answer my questions about where it currently is. Last shown in the city I work in, like I can just pick it up if I could talk to someone and if they would let me... I mean apparently it is difficult to deliver a package...
I blamed Covid when it took almost 10 days to get a package to me that was 50 miles away. Now, I ordered checks from Bank of America and, Unfortunately, they use DHL. So, it is taking two weeks now to get my checks from Dallas to Houston. SLOOOOOOOOOOW! WHY IS BOA USING THEM?
Packed box with protective foam to prevent my sunglasses from to be damaged. After asking me everything DHL representative opened it up - removed out of my box and removed protective foam - excuse- "to decrease weight and shipping coast!

Answer: Difficult. Automated system. Rip off phone charges. Cost so far to track our parcel, possibly missing has been around £25 in phone charges. Still trying. They wont phone you back and yet it is their error.
