The website itself is fun to play around with, so they get one star for that, but OH YE GODS, their customer service is a nightmare from the deepest pits of Hades. Getting past their automated robot answering service is a challenge unto itself, and then when you finally get an actual human being on the phone, they either don't speak English or their accent is so thick you can hardly understand what the heck they're saying in the first place. This company messed up my order in multiple ways, then kept transferring me to different departments, transferring me to departments that were currently closed, re-routing my call to Mars, etc. Took me over a month to receive an order that I was supposed to receive in one week. I'm definitely going back to Toshiba for my next computer purchase, ugh.
I know Dell has been struggling as a company and brand, but I think they still have the best service+computer quality in the industry, dollar for dollar. I ordered a new laptop on their site and got the in-person service package (where you don't need to send it in if you have a problem, they come to you and fix it for you on site) and the package was ~25% less expensive than a computer with the same specs and the same service package from other PC companies (assuming they offer the onsite service which to me is critical because time lost to maintenance issues is one of my top concerns) and ~40% less expensive than Apple. The computer I got isn't super-cool looking or anything, but it works perfectly and doesn't have any issues, which is exactly what I need. I think if you're on a budget or are just want something practical, Dell is still the best place to get a computer or laptop.
Update: It's been10 months since my Dell Purchase – We've had several problems now, not just the touch pad. We've made numerous calls to Dell (hours on a phone), had 6 different technicians to our home, sent the computer back for repairs twice, and replaced it once. They sent back a "refurbished" device even though I purchased "new". The problems continue, as well as additional ones!. I think replacing the computer with a new one would be more cost effective after all this. Makes me wonder if Dell knows a new computer would result in the same problems. I feel they are trying to delay until my warranty runs out. SERIOUSLY - do you want to put yourself through this!
I bought Dell 10 years ago. 2 years later, after many 3-4 hour service calls and numerous tears, I bought a different computer. No problems. Christmas 2021, I decided to buy my husband a computer. A friend, who is a computer tech by trade, suggested Dell. I bought one of Dell's "premier" computers and we've had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS from the beginning! At 3 months, in an attempt to repair the device, phone support has remotely accessed the computer 4 times, 4 technicians have come to our home, and we sent the computer back to Dell's repair department. The touch pad still does NOT work! They tell us it is working but as soon as we hang up the phone it stops working! When purchasing, FIRST thing I asked the rep was "can I return the computer if it does not work?". He guaranteed me a "YES! I should get more than one days use for $2000! DONT buy DELL!

Complete disregard by the support of your subsidiary Alienware!
I have been using alienwarearena.com for TEN YEARS, but a couple of weeks ago my account was banned for no reason. I only read the news and did daily ARP tasks.
Support completely ignores me. I really regret that a couple of years ago I bought a Dell laptop. I'll never buy a Dell/Alienware product again.
Tried to purchase simple monitor, placed the order like 6 times but not luck, it got cancelled every time for now reason, I called customer service every time it happened stye came up with all sort of excuses but never fix whatever problem they have, so I ended up wasting two days trying to make a purchasing and in the end switched to other brand.
I have been working at Dell full-time for more than 5 years. All kinds of development/testing work going on. Suppleness to move around teams and improve your skills. But lack of forward thinking, trailing in laptop business due to phablets and tablets boom. I think here too much work pressure sometimes, can't think of anything else really.
What a joke of a company! Ordered a G15 gaming laptop for my daughter's birthday because they were offering presidents day sales with one day shipping. It's been a week since I placed my order and no laptop but I have gotten annoying emails everyday telling me the order is delayed. Not only is the email annoying but you have to accept the delay each time or they'll just cancel your order! How do company's stay in business like this? Why even offer the sales if you can't fulfill them!?
I had some annoying issues with my Inspiron Desktop but got it solved quickly with Dell's customer service. I got the motherboard replaced and now my PC is working fine. It's rare to see a company that still provides such excellent customer service where they take even the time to call you and follow up on your issue making sure everything is resolved. This makes more likely and confident to buy another Dell down the road.
I'm using dell since 5 year and i was always facing issue with their machine. Suddenly my wifi device stop working i try to reach their support team but they offer me to buy new laptop never resolve my issue. They told me you should buy our paid support service. They never provide me any valid solution so i can fix it my self. Also if you are on one os and you want to install another os then you should buy their new laptop according to their worst support.
I ordered a $4500 pc from them which is way over priced to begin with, but the comfort of it being already built it great, i order from dell as after the long wait to be built, you get the 2 day delivery, well nope, they shipped ground service even thou they show 2 day expedited. I could have got a better built pc from others with better motherboards that are expandable to 512. Dell pcs are made to intentionally limit how much you can upgrade which is nothing so i siggest getting a maker who doesn't lie to its customers about 2 day shipping, and offer pcs that can have future upgrades, they are a comapny that keeps milking the cows, US
I bought my son the most expensive and "alleged" laptop on market. 2K
Warranty was for one yr at 1 yr 5 months laptop stops working. Sent to Dell they said it's a faulty motherboard and we have to pay to fix it. When speaking to Dell about stand behind their product, "faulty motherboard" they would not. Only interested in the repair $. Bye Dell I will never buy from Dell again!
We purchased a lap top for our son and have since paid it off. They keep billing us for the 4 dollar service contract and there is absolutely NO one who can assist us with canceling it. I've been trying for 2 days call every number on the website only to get CSR who can barely speak English
Dell has the worst customer service in the universe. My lcd screen cracked after 1 month and I understood it wasn't under warranty. But i spent 15 hours just to find out were to send to repair. Five people disconnected me. The voice recognition doesn't recognize voice of numbers or office vs home and they kept giving me the wrong numbers. If I had know before spending 5 hours I would have smashed it with a hammers.
Dell laptops have consistently impressed me with their exceptional performance and reliability. From the sleek designs to the powerful specifications, Dell laptops offer a seamless user experience. The keyboards are comfortable to type on, and the trackpads are responsive and precise. The display quality is remarkable, delivering vibrant colors and sharp details. Moreover, Dell laptops boast impressive battery life, ensuring long-lasting productivity on the go. Whether I'm using it for work, multimedia, or gaming, the smooth performance and speedy processing power never disappoint. The customer support provided by Dell is commendable, with prompt assistance and helpful resources. Overall, Dell laptops are a reliable choice for anyone seeking a blend of performance, durability, and customer satisfaction.
Dell laptop was purchased in 2020 for daughter at college. The computer has been under warranty and required repairs 6 different times. Each time Dell has told us the problem has been fixed, but continue to have issues with the keyboard, and mother board. It is currently being repaired and told the problem will be resolved. Is there a "lemon law" for computers? How many times does it take to get repaired to get a new computer?
I give it one star because 0 star is not available.
This is my 2nd Dell computer. This brand new Alienware m15 r3, which costs $2500, broke down right after 2 months. The tech support is horrible. Every time I try to call them, the waiting period is 20 min, not to mention that they schedule the wrong time/date, and the parts that need to be replaced take forever to ship. It's been 2 weeks since my computer was down, and I spent several hours making phone callas, and nothing has progressed at all!
My first Dell workstation has the same motherboard issue, and they keep having this issue for years and obviously the product is not worth the price at all. The customer service is just a nightmare, and they dare to hang up on me after I spent 30 min waiting in the line! DO NOT BUY!
I bought a 15" Vostro 7620 and paid for a 4-year Dell warranty. What a rip-off! One of the hinges has failed and Dell say, "Not covered".
So I had an independent computer repair shop dismantle and report. He described no sign of external damage and an internal fault with the construction of the hinge. Dell refused to acknowledge receipt of the report or to respond except to say, "We already said no..." Rude, inefficient and wrong!
I am professional technical (motoring) writer. Tomorrow, I will start an action against them. You shouldn't have to do this kind of thing...
I've spent over £1000 yesterday on a brand new Inspiron 13 2 in 1 laptop and received it today.
I've received; used accessories, stained used/returned laptop which has a rattling and rocking touchpad.
Absolutely disgusting how they try and sell their faulty return items to their customers.
I won't even say the word Dell from now on. Do yourself a huge favour and don't buy any of their new products because they are in fact used/refurbished/faulty/returned products.
Dell has gone to.SH*T. Don't buy unless you want to waste your money. Dead hard drive on computer less than 2 years old. And with VERY little use. I may have used it 2-4 hours a WEEK. Software problem from day 1 but they wouldn't replace it only update software which made it better but not great but I don't think anything about it because I didn't use it that much. Now they want me to pay for a new hard drive or buti another computer... NOT
I ordered an Inspiron 15 3000, online, for my college student. I completed the order by selecting [Submit Order]. But nothing happened. The order did not process. So I called Dell to speak to one of their "Fantastic" customer service reps. I was transferred several times, cut off once and had to call again, and generally wasted over a half an hour on the phone. When I finally got to who was supposed to be the person to tell me if my order went through or not, she said I should just wait a few hours and see if the amount shows up on my credit card as a new purchase or until I receive an email notice from the credit card company. If I didn't hear from the credit card company, to just call Dell back and "we'd be happy to help".
I could not tell you if Dell is a good computer or not, because with customer service like that, I will never own one.
Answer: Not upto the mark... felt few hadrware technician are newly appointed were not ble to understand as well as answer the query.
Answer: Cause dell is a complete scam. I regret buying one. Wasted almost a thousand dollars.
Answer: I did. I bought a machine that had hardware issues right out of the box and returned it within the 30-day window. They refunded me 100% of what I'd paid, no problem.
