Their fleeces stink after 10 min of wearing. Doesn't matter how many times you wash it. When you wear it again. Smell is back.
I have closet full of Columbia sportswear and shoes and typically I've found them to be of pretty good quality, especially those that were purchased years ago. I recently purchased a pair of ROC pants that apparently were new old stock. Great pants but on the 3rd wearing the metal snap came out from the pant and is lost. The grommet is still in place and I just need the snap to make the repair. Columbia offers absolutely no replacement parts for their clothing line. No tailor can replace the item either as the snap is exclusive to Columbia. So I have to throw out a pair of $50 pants because the snap cannot be replaced. Incredible! Not available for warranty because they are an older model according to Columbia. I just spent another $100+ on the Memorial Day sale and that will be my last purchase from Columbia. Poor customer service with be their death nail. Not to mention, if you sign up for an awards account and attempt to take advantage of their 25% off first online order, please note that is only applicable to full price items. Not something that is apparent when you sign up. More deceptive advertising. There are too many other good companies out there with excellent customer service like Prana, Kuhl, Royal Robbins etc. to keep throwing my money away with Columbia.
I would give zero stars if I could for their customer service. I have been ordering from their online site and using Paypal for my purchases for many years because their payment site is not secure. I have returned items to the store, which is 45 minutes away, on multiple occasions including successfully 3 weeks ago. Today, I attempted to return items to same store FROM THE SAME ORDER with an attached return receipt and was told they don't accept returns from paypal payments. Seriously?! She noted it was on the site except it is nowhere near where you would see if placing an order. Getting absolutely no help from the store manager who was also condescending, I contacted customer service directly and they were even less helpful and indicated not all returns are acceptable and that it is at discretion of warehouse. What does that even mean? The person suggested it would be better for me to instead try to sell the item on a third party site or give it to a friend or relation as a gift. Really?! That is the resolution for returning an item never worn, still with tags in original shipping bag within return timeline? I will be purchasing my sportswear elsewhere as apparently the company itself can care less. I have no faith in this company's return process now and therefore no longer have buyer confidence using their online site. Sizes lately have been very off and I even received a defective item this month. I will purchase only from a store now and it won't be anytime soon.
I, order a, pair of hiking boots, in details they were. Listed as, leather upper! After, ordering, I immediately went to browse on, Macy's, boot site. Saw, the exact same boot, as I bought 3 minutes, prior on, Columbia's site. Macys, details had them listed as, man-made, uppers! I, called, Columbia's customer service. This, was all in a few minutes time. I, was told, I could not cancel. I, had to return boots and that, a free return label, would be sent to me as soon, as boots shipped. Another lie! Boots, arrived 6 weeks before the return label, finally arrived. After, 30 emails and a few phone calls, to, customer service! What a, run-around- Still, waiting, for refund! Next the time-limit, will run out!. Yes, when the boots did arrive, they, had a tiny, inch long, narrow, piece of suede, by two. Of the shoe-lace, hooks. Not, all of them, just two! That, is how they, managed to list them, as a, leather upper. I, still, do not have a refund, yet! A, note stating, $6.95 for postage and reason for return was listed as: wrong size. More lies! The boots, were not, a leather upper! Still, waiting for refund! Next the time-limit, will run out. Never Again, with this company! I, really thought they were, a reputable company. No way! One, of the worst, I've, dealt with!
First phone call I sent them pictures of the labels on the clothes that they admitted was the wrong size they said they had the right size in the same colors after being on hold for over a hour I hung up and called back I finally got a return label and wanted to reorder the same items in the correct size and same colors but they said they sold out since the initial call so I said I'm returning them and they lost a first time customer for good
I love Columbia. Free shipping if you join their reward program. Excellent customer service. They stand behind what they sell. You can also get rewards for joining their program.
My company has a corporate partnership with Columbia. I used a Columbia.com/Partner discount code to order up to 5 items at a great discount. After placing my order for the 5 items, I received an email that one of the items was cancelled due to being "out of stock." So I reached out to Customer Service to see how I could go about replacing the item while still retaining the discount. I tried the Chat (since they say it is faster) and it kept telling me that I was "next in the queue!" but then it would time out and tell me to start over. SO I resorted to the phone line (with a 30 min wait). After the long wait, I was finally connected to a human. That human was in the process of helping me (while putting me on hold 4 separate times) when JUST as he was ready to resolve the issue, the line disconnects. For the record, I was extremely patient and pleasant. SO at this point, super frustrated, I tried the Chat again and was quickly connected to a representative who said he could not assist me with that and to try the phone support...again. So here I am...45th in the queue, another 30 min in. Still nothing...Columbia is the WORST!
Beware of abysmal customer service if you order online. I was in the queue for 7 hours only to be told that they couldn't cancel my order, even though it had not shipped yet. They mislead you with the "expected delivery" dates when you select your shipping method. I opted for "expedited shipping" which gave an estimate of Dec. 28-29th. This was sooner than the estimated 3-4 business days that their FAQ section claims that it will take to arrive. Essentially, their website misrepresents the amount of time it will take the package to get to you by lowballing the shipping estimate on the purchase page, which is speedier than their actual estimate, which is buried in the terms of service.
In short, DO NOT TRUST THE SHIPPING ESTIMATES. THEY ARE MISLEADING.
This is my personal experience during my last trek in Warwan Valley Kashmir completed on 25th July where I have crossed several water streams experienced badly that water proof technology not working properly.
I have purchased the shoes on 26th June 2023 Crestwood MId WP against invoice no DWH23-24/1633 atleast upto ankle level water proof should work but unfortunately it didn't turn around.
Kindly go through the technology and do the needful from your end at the earliest.

I gave an order through Columbia's Netherlands webpage on 24th of November and still have not receieved my order. On 8th of December I was informed that an investigation was opened regarding my order, which should have been finalized in 15th of December, but I still have no news. I called the call center 6 times now and they are not helpful at all. I bought the coat for a trip that I will be going to on 22nd of December and I don't think that it will be delivered before my trip. I did not expected a behavior like this from Columbia Sportswear, as I have no about the condition of my order and when will I recieve it.
I ordered a shirt that was not the size listed on the label. I started a return and was told i would have to pay the $6 in return shipping.
I spent 35 minutes on chat getting the $6 refunded. Because I did not believe that I should have to pay to return an item that was not the size they claimed it was.
When my order refund finally came it was $12 short of what i spent.
This time I called and complained. The first operator hung up on me. The second one tried to tell me that because they had already refunded me $6 (my return shipping that they had already agreed to pay). That I only had another $6 coming to me. I tried to explain that the previous $6 was for my return shipping, when I had to ship the item back, and he would not let me speak. He continued speaking over me. Until I finally asked to speak to a supervisor.
The supervisor continued to make the claim that because i had already been refunded $6 for "my" return shipping - that that sum would have to come out of my total that I spent on the shirt. But he said it in such a way that it was the most corporate double speak I have ever heard. I pointed this out to him. And he continued to recite the corporate policy. That basically they had lied to me and would never pay my return shipping.
In this day and age, when they are competing with Amazon and every other online retailer, they should refund the entire amount and NOT charge you to ship the item back. On top of already wasting your time sending you an incorrectly sized product. And the hour and a half i lost from my life trying to get a $12 refund.
I love Colombia's clothes. I will never shop with them again.
Do not buy from Columbia if you're unsure that you'll keep it. Awful customer service/returns. Awful!
My family and I like their jackets. These are the best sports jackets. Easy to care. Easy to wear. Easy to store. They are convenient for any season.
I ordered a fleece jacket and it was said to be delivered, but I did not receive it. Customer service said they would do an "investigation," then after a week sent an email that said the investigation was complete and it was delivered but I could contact the carrier. I responded to the email that I did not pay my money to the carrier. I got another email telling me that they cannot do a "full refund" and advising me to call customer service.
When I called customer service, the representative asked me to hold for her to talk to her lead then came back to the phone to tell me that they could only do I refund if I placed another order and upon receipt of that order they would do a refund. Of course, I objected to that and questioned the logic of what she told me. I told her that I waited for the sale to buy the jacket and did not have money lying around to place random orders. She continued to give unnecessary platitudes and kept repeating that I should place an order. I hung up the phone. By the time I did so and went to my Columbia to download my order form, I found that I could not log in at all. After trying while knowing that I had my login information correct, I came to the realization that Columbia had blocked my account.
This was not my first order from Columbia Sports Company as I have been buying from them for years. However, This is the last for me and even if I see their product in another store, I will NEVER wear another Columbia product. Also, rest assured that my family and friends will hear of this.
I do not have "proof of purchase" because I did not get the product nor was I able to get on Columbia's site to download my order form.
I love going to the columbia outlet and getting there monthky deals...best fleas and water prof jackets and boots for hiking
