My experience with Cancelon is so bad I suspect them of running a scam. I made a reservation yesterday, and identified my husband as the guest although I was paying for it, with my credit card. When I received the confirmation email a few minutes later, I saw that they had erroneously identified me as the guest, and the confirmation included a warning that I must physically be present at check in. I called within seconds of receiving that email to explain the mistake that had been made and to have it corrected. The first person I spoke said it was impossible. I asked to speak to a supervisor and after a longish wait on hold, was connected to Carlos who apologized for the mistake and assured me that it could and would be changed, but that the department that would do that was closed so I would received the corrected confirmation in the morning. I asked him to reiterate that the change would definitely be made and he repeated that yes, it would be. This morning I received an email from Henry, who said "the amendment is not possible." So, what, was Carlos just lying to me? I suspect a scam. This is no way to run a company - this is a totally disreputable way to behave and to treat clients. I will never EVER book through this company again.

I purchased on Cancelon hotel reservation in Boston, US, the price was 15% less than other website, the provide me with great service, had to arrive late to hotel, also add to add more room, the team support me very fast with great price, James

I had a reservation for a hotel in Playa del Carmen, Mexico for Sep/9 (Itinerary #*******). I called and sent an email to change my reservation on Sep/7 due to hurricane Irma and hurricane Katia. I stated that I had to cancel my reservation not because I wanted to but because of the weather situation. After almost a month calling Cancelon's customer service and not getting a response to my emails, they finally informed me today that they won't approve a full refund or change the dates of my reservation stating that the hotel wasn't affected by the hurricane. It's easy to say that afterward, the house of my family in Miami wasn't affected either, but before the storm, you just don't know what's going to happen and you have to be insane to travel under those conditions and risk your life or get stuck in a foreign country. I spoke today with the hotel and they informed me that the reason why they didn't change or refund my reservation was that Cancelon contacted them on Sep/14, days after my check in. Cancelon made a mistake and now I'm the one affected. This has to be the worst experience I have had with a third party company. Stay away from Cancelon!

DO NOT USE THIS WEB SITE. I booked Rotana Salalah in September 2019 for a stay in December. I got a confirmation voucher and therefore assumed all was fine. When I went on my trip, it turned out there was NO RESERVATION AT ALL despite a full charge on my credit card. The hotel was full and I ended up spending much more money on another hotel and had 3 hours of stress with a 3 year old finding another hotel. This is a joke of a company, DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM

The only reason I gave them one star is because they didn't offer any lower choices. DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH CancelOn. Com. This is certainly not a customer service operated company. My issue was over a requested late arrival for Hotel Preston Nashville Airport. I had stated on the booking information that I wanted a late arrival. They took the booking and sent me a reply that they couldn't guarantee late arrival. I sent them a request to cancel my reservation so I could make other arrangements. They sent a snippy little reply hoping I was well and having a nice day, and the reservation was not refundable. THEY SUCK!

We had an excellent experience with Cancelon. I got an amazing deal at Playa Grande in Cabo. I was nervous about it because I had never heard of Cancelon, but I did some research and the deal was so good, I decided to go for it. My understanding was that we were buying nonrefundable rooms that someone else had bought but were unable to use. We bought 2 rooms and had Cancelon's customer service request that they were adjoining for us which they did. We were notified that the hotel could not confirm our adjoining room request until check in but they would try (pretty normal for all hotels.) I did call the hotel to confirm the reservation separately and they only had us down for 1 room, but Cancelon customer service quickly fixed this. When we arrived at the hotel, they did not have any adjoining rooms, so instead they upgraded us to an amazing 2 bedroom 3 bathroom penthouse! All in all, we got a great deal and a great vacation. I would recommend Cancelon, although I would verify any reservations directly with the hotel as well just to be safe...

Don't Use This Company!

I read the negative reviews and thought "oh it can't be that bad" and the rates were really reasonable. So Cancelon hit my credit card right away and then wanted to charge me $26 to cancel the reservation. So I kept the reservation but was uneasy about it. Got to the hotel and they wanted another $93 per night. I was told the hotel kept denying the reservation over and over for weeks. I spoke with hotel reservationist that works on computer reservations. She said my reservation should not have gone thru as the rates they were trying to reserve were way too low. She distinctly remembered denying it over and over but Cancelon was persistent. Somehow the reservation went thru but the hotel did not want to recognize it or my paperwork. The hotel said they were blacked out from seeing what I paid to Cancelon but I needed to pay $225 per night as that was the rate for that weekend. They did not show that I prepaid to Cancelon. After a lengthy argument the hotel finally gave in and gave me a room at no extra charge but it was an ugly fight and very upsetting. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

With a lot of Trivago TV Commercials lately, I decided to try out the Trivago website. Wow, was that a thousand dollars mistake. I have no idea what kind of relationships they have with Cancelon, I felt like I was being scammed by both of them. Thru Trivago, Cancelon offered me the best price which took me to the Cancelon website to continue my reservation. Boy, the best price is no longer the best price once you get to the end of your reservation process. They have their breakdown of the final totals on the lower left panel where the big and center page is left for you to enter your payment information. By the time you hit the button 'submit' and see the final totals, it will be too late for you to cancel the transaction. I immediately called Cancelon and they have me wait for 10-15 minutes so I decided to chat with one of their chat supervisor named Chris. Guess what? It's no use. He kept denying me the opportunity to cancel a reservation that was booked a few minutes ago with misleading info. Instead, he offers me the opportunity to sell it. Wow, what a deceptive business concept. First, they make money off you by misleading you into booking. Then they want to make money off you again by giving you no choice but to sell it.
With this type of experience, I would never give Trivago and Cancelon any opportunity ever again.

Happened to me as well. They told me 24 hours before check in. I was a bit nervous but they made it. I got my room. Happened to me with other hotel websites as well.

I tried selling with Cancelon, after they called the hotel and the hotel wouldn't let them change the reservation name, they called the booking webiste I used and CANCELLED my reservation. Causing me to lose $300 as the room was non-refundable, (the reason why I was selling in the first place). They said they have no notes of them cancelling, but they were the only ones with the access to the confirmation number and pin, which you need to cancel the reservation. They won't own up to what they did, so now, im out a hotel room as well as $300. Way to go Cancelon. After spending 2 hours with the booking agency all they could tell me is that someone called under MY NAME requesting for the booking to be cancelled and the cancellation cannot be retracted nor the rate be refunded, cancelon is "looking into it" but I doubt they will give me any sort of refund once they lie and say that they had nothing to do with it. So all in all, NEVER USE CANCELON. If I could give them a 0 rating I would.

DO NOT USE CANCELON. We booked a hotel a few months ago and just recevied a notice they had to cancel our reservation with a reason of there is a convention in the area and all hotels need to be booked via the convention website.

HORRIBLE experience

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrific customer service. Twelve hours before leaving for our first wedding anniversary trip (that happened to fall on a holiday) they emailed to let us know our hotel was overbooked and offered a motel with no change in what we were charged for a 5 star resort. We begged and pleaded for other comperable arrangements and all we were offered was a refund, no credits. We called our hotel directly and they said they let the company know weeks ago and on several occasions they were booked, however, we only heard from them the night before. The "manager" we spoke with gave no options and showed no remorse for their companies poor service. On our own we researched and were able to find a comparable 5 star resort that was available and he refused to book us. We spent two hours on the phone with no resolution and are now out the cost of our flights, arrangements for our dogs etc. As well as heartbroken we aren't able to celebrate a very special time as we had planned. We travel often and have never experienced such terrible customer service. I am appalled at how we were treated and how horribly the situation was handled. They made no effort to make this right for us, even after we did all the leg work to find a reasonable solution. First and last time we will ever use this company and advise everyone to avoid it as well.

They need negative stars for this company! 3 months, 11 staff and over 30 emails later I STILL have not received my refund for accommodation they messed up. Their mistake left me stranded in a NY hotel lobby at 12am with no accommodation, and all hotels booked out within 18 miles. I was forced to pay $666 to get a room for a few hours, and they wont reimburse me for their mistake! They are rude, and their approach is to wear you down with a long battle if you have a problem. I have no respect for the people working in this company, or the company! Now I treat them as rudely as they have treated me. I travel internationally at least 10 times a year and NEVER have had such a negative experience with a travel/accommodation company! Look after yourself and don't book through them!

Just to show you how pathetic this company is, since making the above post 3 more Cancelon staff (Nick, Lee, Antonio) have been in touch to 'ask' my situation AGAIN - making it now '14' incompetent Cancelon staff over 3 months who cannot address my problem (although their company policy is to address issues in 14 days). LinkedIn says their company has 1-20 staff. I wonder if I will get through the full 20 before they finally REFUND ME MY MONEY!

Update to my existing review - Buyer Beware

I am updating this review since CancelOn states they could not find the reservation under my name. I made a reservation for my co-worker but my name should have been known since I made 5 phone calls to CancelOn and spoke to two different reps and one Supervisor (Aautsor, Randy and Supervisor Nick) and I bugged the hell out of them until they made and confirmed my room reservation. I got the run around from all of them stating they would get back to me within 3 hours and I never heard from them so I kept calling. I feel if I did not make the phone calls to them I would not have had a hotel room. On a positive note, I will give Randy credit for finally confirming that I had a hotel room but it took them 7 hours to finally get this confirmed after all of my calls. This was the most frustrating thing I have ever had to deal with as an Executive Assistant. In all my years of setting up travel arrangements I have never encountered such terrible service. This company will never be used again by me or my company and I still suggest to anyone reading this not to use them. If you do you need to confirm directly with the hotel that you actually have a room because most likely when you arrive at the hotel you will not.

DO NOT BOOK YOUR RESERVATION THROUGH THIS COMPANY, it will cost you lost dollars, no reservation and a lot of phone calls to their customer service reps without any help or real answers. I have called them 5 times in two days regarding my hotel reservation. They keep telling me the reservation is reserved, I call the hotel and they have no record of my booking. I booked through them since it looked as if they offered a great deal but it has been nothing but frustration and stress; a day before a trip and I still do not know if I have a hotel room. The worst part is they do not let you cancel; their policy but they do nothing to assist you. RUN AND RUN FAST AWAY FROM CANCELON! This company is AWFUL!

1 star because 0 stars is not an option. This company is a scam. I made a reservation with them (unfortunately this was before I read their horrific reviews) and got an email stating that I would receive the final hotel confirmation number 1 day prior to check-in. This seemed sketchy to me so I sent an email requesting the confirmation number today. I eventually got an email with the final hotel confirmation number later this afternoon. I called the hotel and they did have a reservation in my name corresponding to the confirmation number - but they told me the reservation had been cancelled. I asked WHEN the reservation had been cancelled (thinking that maybe it was listed as cancelled because I was purchasing a 'cancelled' reservation) and they informed me that it was cancelled TODAY (right after I received my 'final hotel confirmation' email from cancelon...). No big deal, I thought - I will just cancel my booking and do it directly through the hotel (my trip isn't for another month anyway). The multiple confirmation emails I had already received all stated that any cancellation prior to November 25th is fully refundable. Well, after cancelling I got an email telling me that my refund amount is for $98.00 less than the original charge. Nowhere does it state there is a cancellation fee. I WANT MY FULL REFUND! If I do not receive a full refund, I will absolutely be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau.

Booked a room at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas through CancelOn.com. Apparently, CancelOn.com has such a low standing with the hotel, that when we arrived at the Venetian, the hotel tried to assign us to a different ( cheaper) hotel.
Furthermore, I booked and pre-paid a two-bed suite through CancelOn. Coms website and only received a one-bed suite. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU BOOK ELSEWHERE!

My Husband was admitted to ICU the morning before our flight called to cancel our stay and was told the cancelation fee was the $1040 I had already paid, I was able to cancel our flights the hotel in Salt Lake City but they were heartless, and I am sure they were able to rent out the room as it was on a weekend

I am a frequent traveler. If there was money in staring at travel sites it'd be a millionaire!
I booked a hotel for Mardi Gra in New Orleans through Trivago. ( first and last for that also). Cancelon was the agent. I love a good deal so I thought it was a good concept. I paid 364.00 for 2 nights. Checked immediately with hotel. They didn't have reservation. I called cancelon. They said wait 1 day due to time change ( they appear to be in India). Waited and called hotel next day. Still no reservation. Called cancelon again. They said there was a error. Wait 1 day and it will be all set. Waited 1 day. Called hotel agsin. They were concerned but nothing they could do.
Stsybridge New Orleans. They referred me to their manager. She also had no info. I tried customer service at Trivago. Not their problem either. I called cancelon agsin. Yet another operator said wait one day. I then realized this is standard language from them. I told this operator how horrible this experience was and she hung up on me. 10 seconds later I received a email from them saying they canceled my reservation. Supposedly I will have my money back in. 1-3 days. So far nothing.
I believe they have no rooms. I'm not sure what their plan is with your money. But this is a total scam. Don't use them. It's a scam.
