Trip of a lifetime cancelled due to the Corona Virus. Any attempts to contact Cancelon have been unsuccessful. Phone numbers are no longer in service and my booking information is not showing up online. I contacted Tripadvisor who initially took my booking and outsourced using Cancelon. Tripadvisor is not taking any responsibility or offering any compensation for the monies I have prepaid on my credit card. Such an unfortunate and costly experience. Shame on these companies. Just remember Karma is a $#*!! Anyone booking through Tripadvisor should be aware. Looks like Cancelon will take not only my hard earned money, but I'm sure that of many travelers and likely open under another name. BEWARE.
Booked and paid Cancel-on $3,000.00. Now that borders are shut we can't go anyway. They have stolen my money as they have not paid hotel. DO NOT book with this site. Just heard they have gone out of business. Is there nothing people can do to recoup their money? Diane
I learned that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the hotel I had booked through Cancelon will be closed. Cancelon has apparently filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying back customers who prepaid for hotel reservations with them. As mentioned in other recent reviews there is no way to get in touch with them since their phone numbers have been disconnected. As far as I'm concerned the people who owned this company are no better than thieves or crooks. Filing for bankruptcy is just a cowards way of avoiding their responsibility to pay back what they owe.
This is not a legitimate business. They don't book the hotel correctly (your name but wrong address) therefore you can not legitimately say you have a reservation. They have also filled for bankruptcy and would not refund my money due to covid closure at our hotel. It is really surprising that TripAdvisor linked up with them. We were not aware that Trip Advisor was going to use them to book a vacation. BAD NEWS!
Back in early 2020 I booked a room via Cancelon 4 hours away from home because my son had to have surgery to remove a bone tumor from his hip in a hospital in Rochester NY. When I got to the hotel my reservation wasn't there. Luckily the hotel was empty and the lady at the desk worked to get me a good rate. I tried to contact Cancelon for a refund and found it was impossible to contact them as they had cancelled their phone service and didn't respond to emails. Apparently they continued to take peoples money for reservations and never placed the reservation and had filed for bankruptcy. I immediately contacted trip advisor as that's where I found the room with the Cancelon rate to notify them of the issues. There's a Facebook group where people post their fraud stories regarding Cancelon.
Talked to an actual person on the phone a week before my trip to cancel it due to the virus, received a confirmation email about what was discussed and that my refund would be forward to their "refund team". Site has been down for weeks now, not able to contact, no other email has been sent back to discuss about my refund. Highly unprofessional! The policy states that if an state of emergency and lock down has been made there is a refund issued! My hotel stay was cancelled, the hotel even states full refunds for guest but Cancelon pockets my money for free? I am a cashier on the front line and risk my health and life to provide the best customer service during this time. Unbelievable!

I booked reservations back in Jan 2020 for Florida for Disney trip in September 2020. They canceled my reservation without my knowledge. I was not refunded my money, this company filled a chapter 11 in March 2020. The number to this company is no longer available and no one will honor my reservation. I was ripped off.
I purchased a hotel reservation through Cancelon in October 2019. My reservations were for a four night stay in New York in June 2020. I contacted the hotel in April to check on the status of their hotel during this pandemic. I was told Cancelon cancelled my hotel on March 23rd. I had no knowledge of this cancellation. Needless to say, three days later on March 26th, Cancelon filed for bankruptcy. I have not heard from them nor am I able to get in touch with them. I am out $1,537. I booked through Trivago but then my financial transaction was completed through Cancelon. Trivago told me I should have taken out travel insurance. What a joke! Both of these companies should be ashamed of themselves.
My reservation was booked between the outbreak of COVID-19.The Cancelon website pretty much vanished when it came to try and organise a refund as I was unable to make it due to travel restrictions. They happily took my money during the worldwide pandemic. Will NEVER EVER book through this company again.
Anyone that has a reservation made through the company should reconfirm.
Just want to give everyone a heads ups about the my reservations. I reserved a cabin in Feb 2020 at the North Rim Grand Canyon Lodge for Oct 9,2020. With all the news about the workers taking over the lodge because of Covis-9, I thought I would reconfirm my reservation. The Cancelon phone is not in service any longer. I called the North Rim Lodge to confirm and was told that my reservation was canceled in April. I then call the credit card company and reversed the charges.
Contacted Cancelon by e-mail 4 times, by phone twice and via their "contact us" feature on the website with NO return reply other than "we received your message and will reply shortly". They did finally reply after we had already checked in to our hotel.
I would not use this company again and would caution against using them.
DON'T RISK THIS. Made a reservation, checked on it multiple times over several days since I didn't receive a hotel-generated confirmation number. Was assured it was confirmed on Cancelon's end and told I needed wait for the systems to update. This morning (check in day), hotel still has no record of my reservation. So I call back. Again. And guess what? Hotel is sold out, no rooms available. So now, I have a 20-yr-old daughter stranded in New York City with no lodging, traveling alone. Don't put yourself through this. Use a real booking service.
Admittedly, they got my original booking right. However when I wanted to move my dates by one day, they tried to charge me $800 to do so, even though on their OWN page the total cost of that next night was only $200! I thought maybe an additional $50 admin fee MIGHT have been acceptable, but a $600 fee to change the date by one night... come on. I will make sure I dont use these guys for any bookings ever again!
I never received a final confirmation within 24 hours of our check-in but live chatted with someone over 20 minutes to be affirmed that our reservation made in August was indeed confirmed. Made me a bit nervous but all worked out.
I'll admit, I was a little worried at first having never heard of CancelOn before. And the spelling mistakes in the voucher email ("starring" vs "storing") also set off a few alarm bells. After some research, I learned CancelOn resells hotel bookings that are otherwise non-refundable. Once I realized this, then I understood why it can take a few days before the hotel can confirm the booking. And within 48 hours I had received a second email with confirmation and I called the hotel and they also confirmed the booking was made. Overall, I'm very satisfied with CancelOn and a big thank-you to Emma at customer service for patiently explaining everything to me.:-)

Good price. Hope the room is there for us when we get there. The booking portal had no prompts telling the user what information to type into the online form. One has to guess at what to type into the boxes to place the booking request. Took several tries and more than 15 minutes to place the order. Then, when it finally looked like I'd hit the correct information and my order was accepted, the site showed only a series of dots moving in a circle for about 5 minutes. No "we've sent an email" or "Confirmed" or "Success" or any other note. I finally checked email to find a confirmation message. Very uncomfortable.
I booked 3 nights in Kuta beach, Bali for $394. Then I realized it was a mistake, so I called the company. Asked them to cancel the reservation and waive the $19 cancellation fee.
They did and I received the confirmation within minutes. I checked my credit card and my charge was reversed as promised and I get a full refund.
Would probably use them again but still puzzled as to why there as so many negative reviews. Compared to positive ones, 5 to 1 ratio.

Booked 2 rooms, 2 days before my available cancellation date, they switched my hotel due to overbooking. Giving me fear of no accommodations, I accepted only to find more taxes and fees. Contacted original hotel and they still had rooms at time of switch. Now they refuse to reimburse my booking fees which they billed at once the rez was made. This company is B/S DO NOT USE

Unfortunately, I had to cancel a reservation which turned out to be non-refundable. I heard about Cancelon and the possibility to sell my booking through them. I posted and succeeded! Great experience!
